Why the long Face (Shadow) Empty Why the long Face (Shadow)

Post by Dubloon July 26th 2015, 6:12 am

The distant sound of honking horns and screeching breaks, what a wonderful symphony of sounds to wake up to. Sabrina lay in her bed staring at the ceiling of her flat, she had a head ache and felt nauseous, neither of which she could place the cause of. She sat up quickly, and rushed over to her computer, she had the foggiest memory of what had happened last night, and it was in these moments that she cursed her powers. As soon as she sat down, she picked her helmet up off the floor and hit a small button on the back, causing a small port to open up "Shit!" she yelled as the port was empty. Normally there was supposed to be a memory card in the slot that she used to record all of her vigilante activity, but for some reason the chip was missing.

She sat in her chair for a few moment rubbing her brow, hoping that something would come to mind. Sabrina found a small device with a button on it, normally her curiosity would get the better of her, but she was being extra cautious especially since she had no recollection what exactly happened last night. Then it hit her, she had responded to a break in at a nearby lab, and cornered a thief in one of the rooms. Was the button what the thief was after? She wondered. She finally decided to get dressed and drive down to the lab, sitting around her flat wasn't helping her remember anything, so perhaps retracing her steps would.

Moments later, Sabrina rolled up on the crime scene, there were bystanders everywhere, all trying to get a glimpse of the carnage that occupied the front door. The small girl weaved her way through the group, so she could get a better look, and she once she had gotten to the front, she wished she hadn't.  The coroner was examining the bodies that lay sprawled out on the floor in front of the door. All the deceased were cops and swat that had responded to the break in last night, and each one of them had a very creepy and horrible smile on petrified on their faces. Sabrina looked down in shame, she knew she had done this, but couldn't understand why she might have resorted to such a thing. She shook the thought from her head and began making her way to the side of the building, she had to get in there and find her chip. As she made it to the side of the building, she picked the lock to a service door and snuck into the building, hoping no one saw her enter.

Why the long Face (Shadow) Empty Re: Why the long Face (Shadow)

Post by Shadowoof August 1st 2015, 6:21 am

Jason woke to the harsh look of a broken fan above him, a reminder he needed to fix that. Taking his time to stand up the man groggily walked to his bathroom and stared at the mirror, thinking to himself he needed a haircut and a shave. Opening the small door that was the mirror he would grab the razor before watching it snap apart in his hands. "Bollocks." A simple word but one he loved, Jason would pick up the broken piece off the floor and drop it into the bin along with it's broken counter part. Seemed Shaving would come later and with that he made his way out the bathroom and to the TV room which was also his dining and kitchen. He needed a bigger apartment. Opening the fridge he would find two bottles of beer left and a Cheese Cake. He didn't remember buying a cheese cake. "Reed it was inevitable." He needed to go shopping, he had the money for that at least.

Leaving the shopping center with about five different bags in his arms reminded Jason of a few things. He needed a better job, a car, a life, no scratch that last one. He had a life, it was a messed up one that included him freezing up and turning into a black streak of light every once and a while but it was his crappy life. "Maybe I can get into one of those hero groups. Of course I need a better thing then small speed and hardening" He would say with a mocking laugh to himself as the thought whistled away into the wind before slowing his stepping speed and turning the noise of a crowd he must have missed earlier. Seemed like a crime scene and if he was lucky non of the cops here came from LA. Stepping into the crowd, hoping not to let any of his groceries fall out. He would almost make it to the front before a small lady pushed him a little to get ahead and he had to balance himself to keep a rebel apple from falling. Moving though the path she made, he would set his eyes on everyone's wonder and saw a horrifying site. Officers with what looked like forced and creepy smiles on their face. His first thought was on leaving but that changed when the girl made another path to the alleyway that led to the side of the building.

Curiosity got the best of him and he followed her though the people and to the side of the building and watched her and she got though the locked door and enter. Taking light steps himself he would put a foot in before the door closed and would wait a small while before entering himself, Groceries included and wondering what the hell happened here before and where the hell was she going. Whatever this was he was about to find out... and Defiantly regret it but he had his piece in his jacket so he felt a little safe.

Why the long Face (Shadow) Empty Re: Why the long Face (Shadow)

Post by Dubloon August 1st 2015, 6:45 am

Sabrina had successfully infiltrated the building once more, this much she had remembered, she had repelled into the building that night before being shot at by the officers that were now being body bagged outside. The feeling of guilt and regret still welled up in her, she shook the thoughts from her mind as she slowly and silently approached the stairs leading to the second floor. As Sabrina drew closer, she heard a whistle coming from the same direction of the staircase as if something what beckoning her over. As Sabrina turned the corner she froze in sock, she saw.....herself? No that couldn't be right, it had to be that mysterious figure that she had run into on several occasions.

The truly strange thing about the individual was that they were wearing her battle suit, or at least a replica. "Well, well, look what the cat dragged in....you lose something?" the masked figure asked, before turning their back to Sabrina and walking up the stairs to the second floor. "Hey wait! What are you doing here?" she yelled, chasing after the mysterious figure. As Sabrina reached the landing to the second floor and stepped out into the hallway, the figure was already making their way into a room, only looking back and motioning for Sabrina to follow.

It wasn't like the young woman to walk blindly after someone like this, but there was a strange familiarity with this person. She made her way to the room, and found the figure leaning up against one of the desks "See what you're looking for kitten?" the figure said nodding towards the floor at a bullet hole surrounded with shards of black plastic, it was the chip that belonged in Sabrina's helmet, but how did it end up on the floor, and who shot it? The questions swirled in her mind, but something else was bugging her more. She looked up to the figure "How did you know I was looking for this? And how do you always show up in places I'm going?" she questioned. Sabrina was met with the figure holding a figure to the sinister grimace that graced their helmet, signaling for Sabrina to be quiet. "You were followed.....your really getting sloppy" the figure said.

Sabrina, quickly ducked behind the door, laying in ambush for whoever might have been following her.

(OOC, the italic speech is Sabrina's split personality talking to her. ^_^)

Why the long Face (Shadow) Empty Re: Why the long Face (Shadow)

Pushing past the door, Jason peeked to the side of his Groceries and saw the woman walk along, Jason following while having a small argument with himself mentally. Following her, she would make a way to a staircase before.. stopping She then yelled at someone about them being here. "What did I walk into?" This argument could be said over many times but he would continue to follow at a slow pace. Taking light steps and making sure not to drop anything from his bags. Reaching the top of the stairs he would catch only a small sight of blond hair making it's way into a room and followed.

Walking up to it he could hear faint sounds of her talking like she was talking to someone and upon making it to the open door he would see nobody. Making his way in he would miss the girl at the door completely as he stared dead ahead. "What are you doing Reed. You got the food just go."

Why the long Face (Shadow) Empty Re: Why the long Face (Shadow)

Post by Dubloon August 1st 2015, 7:37 am

Almost instantaneously as her follower entered the door, Sabrina hopped up, kicked off the wall and aimed a jump kick at the back of the man's head, it wasn't until she was in mid flight that she realized the person she was about to drop kick, looked nothing like a police officer, or would be assailant, but rather a regular bystander. Deep down inside Sabrina hoped the man was a meta human with superhuman reflexes or something, because it was going to be hard dragging his body out of here, if the kick landed.

After all, if she did knock him out, he would likely be blamed for the break in, and that would be bad, especially since Sabrina knew he wasn't responsible for what happened here the night before. Meanwhile, in the back of her mind, Smiley couldn't help but laugh at Sabrina's brashness as she acted without thought, and now some unsuspecting dolt was about to get laid out....or so she thought.

Why the long Face (Shadow) Empty Re: Why the long Face (Shadow)

Post by Shadowoof August 1st 2015, 7:47 am

Jason tried turning his head when he heard a patter like someone had just kicked a wall but it was too late. Like a spider sense, his hardening triggered and the man frozen in place like a diamond, the kick would land on the back of his head with the feeling like trying to kick a wall and Jason would fall like a statue on top of the bag of groceries, the sound of bottles cracking and food spilling out along with milk as he landed frozen on the ground for a while before returning back to normal and in a literal flash he would be up and meters away from the woman, leaving a sort of black streak behind that faded as he appeared.

"Dammit I just shopped. Look I'm sorry, I got too curious. You saw nothing, I saw nothing. Can we have it as that?" Jason would basically Beg as he stared down at his Groceries, hoping some of it would be salvageable. A small sigh following.

Why the long Face (Shadow) Empty Re: Why the long Face (Shadow)

Post by Dubloon August 2nd 2015, 7:49 am

Sabrina's foot landed dead on the mark, but the impact felt much different than it should have, it felt more like kicking a solid steel beam, possibly something denser, than it did kicking the back of a person's head. The force of the kick was enough to knock the man over, who seemed to be in some sort of paralyzed sate. The brief moment of silence that followed was broken up by the sound of laughter as the masked figure was nearly keeled over from her hyena like cackling "You should have seen the look on your face when you were in mid air....I mean talk about priceless.....what a dumbass." The figure, pretended to wipe a tear away from the crudely drawn x's on the mask that were supposed to represent eyes.

Sabrina turned to the figure ticked off "Why the hell are you even here anyway? What's your fascination with me?" She spouted off, before turning her attention to the man, who was now standing and trying to partially plea with Sabrina. She looked back at the figure, but they were gone, missing as though they had never been there in the first place. Sabrina, looked around the room, she sure as shit had gotten herself into a jam this time. It wasn't until this moment that Sabrina was still in her normal clothes, and if the dude had a good look at her, he might have recognized her as the famous DJ she was. Her hands trembled a bit, just what was she going to do about all this?

She put her head down, trying to avoid eye contact with the man "Why did you have to follow me? why couldn't you be a good innocent bystander and just gawk at the crime scene outside instead?" She said balling her hands into fists, still partially trembling and going red in the face from the embarrassment of the situation.

Why the long Face (Shadow) Empty Re: Why the long Face (Shadow)

Post by Shadowoof August 9th 2015, 3:57 am

Jason, held a closed fist when she said something about why he was here and his fascination about her but the strange thing was she wasn't even facing him, more she was saying it to someone else which was sort of confirmed when she started looking to him half way though his begging. Looking back, he couldn't really see an escape route in the room as she stood between him and the door, he could maybe speed past and make a run for it but whenever he normally tried to do this it would ether go too long and he'd run into the wall outside or freeze up mid burst and become a flying rock. Seemed peace treaty's or or flying rock were his best options. He had his gun but if she was more then human that would be troublesome.

"Look, curiosity. You bumped into me then started making your way down here. I simply followed and my mistake, now I will have to go and shop for anything I can't size from the bags. So can we just go separate ways or do I have to go flying out the wall?" He would say in response to her talk of innocent bystander, why couldn't he have been that guy. He wouldn't have to deal with this.

Why the long Face (Shadow) Empty Re: Why the long Face (Shadow)

Post by Dubloon August 9th 2015, 4:12 am

Sabrina paced back and forth, what the hell was she going to do now? If she let this guy go he could easily go to the cops and tell them what he saw. Sure he was pleading innocent now, but who was to say he wouldn’t change is mind later. The young woman raised a hand to her chin as she thought of several possible scenarios that could work in her favor, without having to harm this man. “Damn it” She spouted before looking the man in the eyes.

“There’s no way your leaving here by yourself. One you could get caught, and two you could rat me out, even if you’ve stated clearly that you wouldn’t.” It was possible that the way the two had gotten in, could be compromised, and there was no safe way off the roof. She looked around the room spotting several chemicals scattered about on several of the tables. She rushed over and collected a few of them, carefully mixing 3 of the 4 vials she grabbed before arranging the beakers in such a way that if she shot the one vial, it would leak into the mixture. Her plan was to set of a small explosion using the chemicals, causing a distraction for the two to escape.

Sabrina turned to the man “Get your shit and follow me” She said, referring to the man’s bag of crushed groceries.

An eyebrow or two raised during her talk, guess she didn't want any chances of being snitched on. Even if they were to escape Jason could easily go to the cops and she knew that, she had to have known that. No his thought was as soon as they left she was dealing with him but why not now to be persevered as linking to the crime that took outside. "Heh. Ratting you out would be just as bad if any of then coppers are from LA Missy." Jason would say as he went to collect his groceries, placing the one rebel apple back into the mushed bag and pulling out a broken milk bottled and putting it back in for a beer. Using a table as his other hand he would open the cap and take a swig before looking back to the woman. A small smirk on his lips.

"I've got my shit and my confidence booster. Let's go." He would declare before following her wherever she went. As long as it meant not getting taken in by police.

Why the long Face (Shadow) Empty Re: Why the long Face (Shadow)

Post by Dubloon August 9th 2015, 4:49 am

Sabrina watched as the man salvaged what he could from the crushed bag, before leading him out into the hallway. Once the two were clear of the room, She snatched the bottle cap from the man’s hand and chucked it side armed into the room, it ricochet off the door frame and tipped the vial over, and its contents splashed into the beaker below. No sooner did she throw the bottle cap, she began to run down the hallway, in the opposite direction that the two had originally entered the build. There was a loud bang and a slight shake of the floor, Sabrina’s homemade explosive had worked, and it was enough to prompt the Officers outside to ruse up to the second floor.

Sabrina led the man to a door that looked like it required keycard access, but with a swift kick, Sabrina had opened the door, and motioned for the man to follow her. She rushed down the stairs disregarding the distance between her and her fellow intruder, all that mattered to her was getting out of the building unseen. Sabrina made it to the first floor, and raised her hand, prompting the man to stop and wait. She took a small peak out of the door, just in time to see several officers running up the stairs on the opposite side of the lobby, but two of them stayed behind to watch over the lobby, this wasn’t good.

“Great, I didn’t think they would leave anyone behind.” She said in a hushed tone, shrugging her shoulders. “You got any bright ideas? Or you just the equivalent to a human sized paperweight?”
