"if he believes he owns me, then he is surely mistaken."
He pondered her request. This place is certainly better then that run down home. Besides, he probably missed every bus home by now...
"Sure, I'll stay."
Then the memory came back. Marcus wanted a word with him.
"..I'll be right back."
He opened the window and started to make his way out. He looked at her one last time before he was out.
"No chasing me though, alright?"
With that, he returned to the run down house to see that strange alien creature in conflict with Marcus. He said nothing and simply watched the situation unfold.

"HA! ALIEN INVASION....If I was worried about that I would simply slay you down and then move on to any other of your kind! Crashed huh?...Was it far from here...I didn't see any shooting stars tonight." Marcus slowly let his sword fall down to his side. He certainly didn't care for some weird green alien guy trying to budge into the house he was staying in, but then again it wasn't his house, Vitreo had shown him it and with it the kindness of hospitality for a human being in need. It was the same sort of compassion that Phil Levine had shown him when he was homeless after loosing his military conscript. Yes, Phil had had alterer motives, but it was compassion for a stranger in need none the less. It was these thought that cooled his temper and allowed his mind to function in a some what empathic nature.

"I....I am sorry....After the night I have had, I guess I am a bit jumpy. Please forgive me. They call me the Centurion, Destrock....right? You are more than welcome to come inside....I have to admit I have never met an alien before. Maybe you could find the time to tell me alittle bit about your people."

" No problem." said Destrock.

He walked into the home and looked across. there was a old sitting room with a hallway at the end of it. He sat him self down on the dusty couch and spoke.

" well, there isn't much to tell about us Festons. We live in giant domes that serve as our cities, the rest of the landscape is toxic gas. A few thousand years ago there was green life, but it died and pollution caused the gas. Fortunately, we had good scientist who foresaw it a built the domes. all our buildings are domed. For transportation, we have the walkway, and the routeway. The walkway is a series of small-ish tubes, about 10M tall and 5M wide. They connect from building to building, 1 in each direction leading from each building. We also have the routeway. it is a bigger tube. it is a bit like these subways i herd your people talking about. they stop at most major domes. Each dome has a few Skyports, and most have 1 Spaceport. Skyports are for flights from city to city. Spaceports are used for ships and pods from other planets. Anything else?"

"Yes of course....you are an alien for god's sake! It's not everyday one meets an alien. First an for most I wonder how you speak our language? Not just our language but this particular dialect, their must be ten's of thousands on this planet alone. You mentioned measurements, they were also in earthly incriminates, You said meters.....Not to mention the endless amount of questions about where your planet is located and how long it must of taken to arrive on ours. What were you even doing coming to our planet before you crashed? " Marcus started to ramble. he had a tendency to do that when the affects of his medication was wearing off. He shook it off and went back to his conversation with Destrok.

But in the back of his mind, the paranoia rat had already started to nibble. It scratched away at reason with tiny doubts about reality. 'You don't think it's strange that an alien lifeform, that just happened to show up directly after you stopped taking your meds? Isn't it a little strange that he seemed to just walk right up and act as though he was already part of your group? What if he's just a government agent sent to keep eyes on you and the alien back story is just a ruse?' Marcus couldn't stop the endless torrent of questions that his sub conscience was throwing at him, so he would just have to concentrate on trying to listen to the alien.

" There not your languages!" Humans can be so arrogant, taking credit for everything! It is an ancient dialog, english is spoken throughout the universe. Im not sure how it came to your planet, i never went to school. Your mesurments too. English, Chinease, and Spanish are all ancient languages from the universe. You named countries after them."

"Well that answers two of the questions I asked, what about the rest?" Marcus stated. He was actually quite interested in Destrok's answer, the alien was right, other that the biblical answer, that the tower of babel had created language. The Alien explanation seemed much more plausible. Marcus smiled at that, and let down his defenses some more.

He was starting to wonder if Vitreo would return or if his violent out burst earlier today had been all it would take to scare another person away from him. It would be a shame, Vitreo, not only strangely powerful, seemed reasonably level headed to match. The loss of him as a companion would not bode well with Marcus.

"Ok, so, you ask where my planet is located. Its about 70 parcels from here, about a 4 day trip. My planet is in the Sunflower Galaxy. I don't want to talk about why i was here, it's a personal story. It was peaceful means tough, non violent"

"Peaceful means tough ...?" Marcus repeated the strange sounding phrase back as it sounded strange to his ear. It was a strange way to put it, did the creature mean that through superior fire power one could advert conflict?

" Certainly a bunch of non peaceful weapons your sportin' there ...Destrok, I supose those are in case the natives get restless, huh? Is that what you mean by non violent?" Marcus grinned, once again it look as though he was menacingly barring his teeth through the opening in his helmet. The truth was he didn't know that's how it looked, if someone would have ever held a mirror up to him whilst he was doing it, he;d probably stop doing it.

(Then I'm at the vacant house. I realize my intro sucked, so I'll expand.

I'm currently sitting in a chair in said vacant house, casually talking to you folks. I haven't bothered to read the two pages in the thread since I left, so it really is my fault.)

Nightkill got up out of the chair in the shadows, and showed himself. "So, can I make my deal now?" he asked.

Adriano had walked into the house, hearing bits and pieces of Marcus' conversation with the newcomer. He had also noticed Nightkill was there with them.

That's all he said. Eclipse's words were burning in the back of his mind the entire walk here. Somewhere deep down, he knew she was right. The question was however, why did she care about him like that? What if she was also trying to manipulate him?

Marcus stopped his questions when Vitreo walked in, again the snarl like smile appeared to show through his helmet.

"Aaahhh Vitreo, how did it go? Did you happen to overhear and information about what occurred to us earlier when you dropped that fiend off?" Marcus stood up from the squatted position he'd taken while listening to the alien's tale.

"This is Destrok, he's an alien that views humans as....how did you say it?.....'arrogant' and although he is heavily armed, he is non violent.... Your....employer hasn't said too much since you left, I am guessing he is the quiet type?" Marcus said gesturing to each of the two men.

Nightkill shrugged. "Silence is golden. You can pick up a lot that way. So, that four million dollar and funding of quests offer I made before, you still interested?" he asked.
