She listened patiently, her eyes bright with curiosity at the foreign money. Cautiously, she took the thick bunch of bills, her fingers grazing over its end so she could see all of the individual notes numbers, designs, and colors. ''Wow...'' she mumbled, holding out in her palm ''Uh... yeah, sure, I'll exchange it for ya.''

Putting the last bit of cake in her mouth, she drowned it with water and grimaced at the odd flavor that followed as she stood up. Nina walked into the room and put on her bra, stowing half of the money stack in each cup before putting on and buttoning up her shirt. ''And whats so special about bean paste?'' she asked hesitantly, afraid she had missed out on an obvious joke. ''I love meat, its delicious, especially when you cover it in cheese and sour cream.''

Voth watched with a smile as Valkyrie changed. When she was done he too changed and laughed as she talked about meat. "I miss meat. Man, oh, man, do I miss meat." He said with a smile, looking the young woman in the eye. "I am sorry for not mentioning this sooner, but I can no longer digest meat."

"It makes me.... unwell." He carefully choose his words. Voth finished dressing and pulled his hood over his head. "See you on the ground." The lizard boy ran to the porch and leapt into the air, with a few flips through the air he landed gently on the pavement below. Voth glanced back up at the porch and weighted for Nina.

Unwell...? She stuffed her provisions, as well as some provided by the hotel, into her pack before slipping on her vest and boots. What does he mean by unwell...? With one last glance, making sure she had everything, she pulled herself over the balcony and dropped down with a loud crunch, leaving a slight crater in the cement. '''Guess we heroes do cause property damage.'' she mumbled, dusting off her shoulders and chest. Nina grinned at her new companion as it dawned on her that she was opening a new chapter in her life. This would be the time when she could finally be a hero, and even though it took years, countless steps of travel, she had begun.

She leaned against Voth and smiled, holding her pack to her chest. It was hard for her to believe that it was beginning today, of all the random days, with a random mutant she saved from a mugging in Florida. Now she would eat mexican food, maybe go on a stroll. The change in her life was subtle compared to her routine, but she loved it nonetheless. It was hard not to smile, so she didn't even try to hide it. ''Shall we?'' she chirped, grasping his hand as she started down the sidewalk.

Voth took her hand and smiled as they walked, "Nina... So your superhero name is Valkyrie... Have to remember to use that in public." He said with a smile, "Maybe we should get costumes... though I doubt tights would be all that flattering for me. You? Mmm you got the body." He laughed a little before frowning a little.

"Nina... I told you to call me Voth... I choose that name because it was so... inhuman, because that's how I felt. My human name... was Jack. I just... think you should know that." He tried not to look Nina in the eye, for some reason, the confession was embarrassing.

The two strolled out onto the main street, the sun had nearly set, and the lights of the city were beginning to light everything up. Nina had chosen a great place to hide, the beach was still close, lots of restaurants nearby. "Thank you." he whispered as he leaned over and kissed Nina's forehead.

''Jack.'' She mulled the name over a few times in her head while she looked up at him. ''Yeah, you look like a Jack.'' Her cheeks flushed red as he kissed her, and she responded with a kiss to the jaw. ''About the tights though...'' Nina looked down at her cut-off jeans and boots; they were dusty, old, ripped, mended... ''Im not very fond of tights. They're so.... well.... tight.''

She winced and unknowingly brushed her hand over her thigh, taking comfort in the feel of the worn jean. ''You might look good in some spandex though.'' she giggled, slipping a finger into one of his belt loops, giving it a coquettish tug.

With a small pinch to his side, she smiled and gave him a peck on the cheek, giving him a gentle push away. ''I'll be back with your cash.''

She strode into the bank, returning to his side a few minutes with a wad of American green. She wrapped an arm around his neck and pulled him into a kiss, gently teasing his lip as she slipped the money into his pocket.
