Q u e s t N a m e
Quest name
Amakur's Awakening
I n f o r m a t i o n
Reason for this quest:
Amakur, a sword of ancient origin and immense power, has begun awakening in response to the sudden increase in supernatural activity around the world. In ages past, when the balance of the world became tilted, he awoke to restore it. A sword of righteous power when wielded by good, or a blade of sinister destruction in the hands of darker souls, Amakur has one purpose - to do battle.
And so it is now. Amakur has begun to awaken... and in the process, has inadvertently sent out a summons. Any strong or supernaturally able person will feel his awakening, and be able to know exactly where to come. There are ancient ruins in ancient deserts in the dunes beyond Egypt. Amakyur was buried there for centuries. Now he returns, and the first hero to grab his hilt becomes his master... and if an agent of evil were to take him from his sheath, the forces of evil would gain a powerful force of destruction.

This quest is open to any who would like to participate. I will be NPCing this quest, and my new character Amakur will not officially "participate" until someone has taken him from his sheath at the end of the quest, finishing his awakening. This is my first and only disclaimer - I am not a nice NPCer, nor am I bound by law to be a fair one.
The reward is Amakur itself, who will be the victor's servant and will bend to your will. Be aware that he is sentient, however, and still has a will of his own. He chooses his wielder, and will not bear to be in the service of someone unworthy.
Posting frequency should be once every 3 days, after which point your character will be assumed to have done nothing during the round for reasons that can only be described as temporary IC narcolepsy. In short, not posting can in certain situations be very damaging to your character's chances of winning. Exceptions will be made in the case of certain circumstances. Nicer exceptions will be made if I have advance warning of aforementioned circumstances.
The first 6 people to sign up can take part. A spot is reserved for any 1 member of Knightwatch as well (they aren't guaranteed to be victors) and they do not count towards the 6 total. This means there will be 7 total participants. Early inactivity will get you booted, meaning I will have a wait list for this quest.

- Brave the traps of the ruins
- Take Amakur from his sheath

Well, life picked up, so this is on hold for a minute. I'm trying to get out of my one other thread. I still plan to do this, just not as soon as I had hoped. Sorry for this, but I'll post here again once I have the time to host a quest.
