Blown into Town [SAMAEL]
Ashley stood in front of an apartment building that he was looking at to move into after Alpha threw him out of his hometown. Chicago seemed like a much better option than New York, and he didn't feel like Canada would necessarily be super safe for him either. Chicago was... His best option. He'd work here, then transfer money to his family back home. No way would he be able to return without completely. He sighed and crumpled up the paper in his pocket.
Walking through the front doors, he found the person who was selling the apartment. "Ashley?" She asked, and he nodded. "Hello! My name is Rebecca! I hope you are ready because this is pretty cool." Rebecca said. "We do have another person looking at the apartment today, so I hope you don't mind." She said and Ashley shrugged. "I guess it'd be cool, I hope you don't mind if I go ahead and go on in, do you?" Ashley asked and Rebecca nodded. "Sure thing, just don't wreck up the place, huh?" She said with a laugh, though Ashley had to wonder if it was truly a 'little joke' as she made it out to be.
Ashley walked into the Apartment and began looking around. He liked the place. Plain white walls, hardwood floors. Simple. Furniture came with it for the sale price, it was in a pretty good neighborhood - especially for Chicago - and he was fairly certain that he could almost stand to be here more than twice a week, unlike his old Canadian apartment. He hadn't yet looked in the restroom, though he was almost certain it would be just as good as the rest of the apartment. As he was thinking about this; the door opened to the apartment.

Re: Blown into Town [SAMAEL]
Finding a residence was always important, especially when your former one was destroyed by a sudden behemoth attack. Being kicked out was rather expected, so he ended up looking for another apartment that he could rest his boots in. it took a few days before he actually found something that looked like it would work, so the red haired cambion set out to check up on the specifics of the place personally. This resulted with him riding down on a typical motorcycle, kicking the stand down the street. He dressed in black jeans with the typical leather over a white shirt, sunglasses covering his oddly pitch black eyes lacking sclera.
He was supposed to be meeting a housing agent, or maybe just someone that was going to let him look over the place. It ended up being a male, dressed in a sort of suit and looking a little confused by the glasses that easily covered his eyes, even around the corners. ”So, this the place?” He asked with a single arced brow, looking up to the building which looked relatively well all things considered.
“Yeah, this is the apartment you were looking at.” He looked over the place appreciatively, burying his hands into his pockets.
”If you don’t mind, I’m going to look inside.” he said, already climbing to the door that would let him into the apartments. He heard something about him saying that he could, along with a mumbling about him being really rude as he pushed through the door. The sudden smell of it was something that caused a small bit of pleasure through him. What he did notice was someone else in there as well, an impractically handsome person at that, though all he did was smirk. ”So, you’re the other person that’s checkin the place out, right?”

Re: Blown into Town [SAMAEL]
Ashley whipped around quickly, not expecting someone to be there despite his real estate agents warning. "Oh, uh. Yeah." He said shrugging, hopefully not showing that he was slightly startled.
He looked the man over. He didn't look like a creep, at least. So hopefully looks didn't have to be deceiving.
"This place is pretty nice though, huh?" He asked the other guy smiling at the room around him. Maybe moving to America wouldn't be as bad as he thought... Even if he had to pay for health insurance, and in his line of business; he might need it. "I see that you've found your way to the living room, Mr. Cresswell. This place is absolutely lovely and in one of the best neighborhoods in town, you won't find anywhere with a better location!" Rebecca said smiling widely, and though Ashley knew that she was selling up the place; he had to agree that she was right about the fact that this apartment was the best one he had looked at so far.

Re: Blown into Town [SAMAEL]
He picked up a slight hint of the man being startled, but didn’t show that understanding save for perhaps a soft quirk of the lips. They were the other person that had an interest within the apartment, so that much he could understand. A moderately attractive male with a face that he only expected to meet from the head of a magical home or on the head of a model. Turning attention from the male for a second, he looked the place over with mild interest, appreciating the overall look of the place. It was much higher quality than his last home, and hopefully something he could afford with the steady work his job as well as Osiris offered.
”Way better than my last place, I’ll give it that.” Samael admitted with a nod, thinking out whether he would be able to out pay this guy if it came down to it, though a few more possibilities entered his mind too. A woman that looked to be the agent for this male walked in, speaking to him and giving a last name. Cresswell, an interesting surname if nothing else though his own was more ironic in hindsight.
”Best neighborhood in town? Sounds pretty upscale if you ask me. What’s the rent?’ he would ask, butting into their conversation.

Re: Blown into Town [SAMAEL]
Rebecca blanched momentarily at the man's words, but quickly regained composure. “Well, it is a bit pricy. Probably out of your price range, Mr. Cresswell. But you pay for what you get! This studio apartment has access to the gym, a parking garage, a pool, as well as other amenities a young man such as yourself would enjoy. There is simply no way for you to turn it dow-”
Ashley cut her off abruptly. ”How much, Rebecca?” He asked slightly more forcefully than he intended.
“Well, it's not important right now; we should go out to lunch and talk about it there.” Rebecca said nervously, which only made Ashley ticked off. ”Listen, Rebecca. I have been forcefully removed from my home, I have people telling me to go ahead and commit harry carry just because I’m not from here. I don't need some two bit real estate agent to give me a hard time because she's afraid that I won't accept her offer!” Ashley said ranting, though it was obvious to everyone around him by his somewhat shaky voice and lack of confidence that this wasn't an ordinary occurrence. ”So, Rebecca. How much is rent?” Martyr asked with fire in his eyes. ::’You talk to women like a barbarian, Ashley. You should be ashamed,’:: Said the Spanish sounding woman inside his head, and Ashley did feel ashamed, though Rebecca did sigh slightly, at the thought of defeat. “$1,500 a month.” She said quietly. Ashley's eyes nearly burst from their sockets when he heard it. ”Holy hell, Rebecca!” He yelled as he collapsed onto the couch and… Oh dear god was it comfortable. ”Thats like twice my price range!”

Re: Blown into Town [SAMAEL]
Samael did frown at being ignored, but he let the conversation keep going as this Cresswell guy seemed to jump onto the price line of questioning. This Rebecca woman did not seem like she was willing to give out the price, his eyes narrowing behind his sunglasses in suspicion. ”Hara kiri.” he offered up when the handsome male managed to butcher the pronunciation rather thoroughly. Eventually the price did come and it wasn’t as bad as he thought it was, actually well within the price budget thanks to ridiculous wages he got. Well, this was boding well for him though he did feel sorry for the guy.
So he decided to make things easier for himself, maybe the guy too but mostly himself. ”We’ll take it.” He said without any real prompt for input from Ashley. ”So how much of a downpayment we talking and does the place come with the furniture?” He asked already acting as if the place were his, thinking about how he would redecorate it and considering just calling up his fae friend with the eye for decoration. Well, the one that didn’t have a thing for covering everything in vines and flowers, that guy was a total asshole.

Re: Blown into Town [SAMAEL]
Ashley was just about to leave, when the redheaded guy said that he would be taking it. Even though Ashley was just leaving, and nothing could allow him to possibly live here. He still felt perturbed that he was being scalped by some rich emo punk brat. “In fact, yes it does. The former owner actually just got up in the middle of the night and left. Leaving all of this here for the next owner.” Rebecca said, seeming to have no issue with completely abandoning her client, which only furthered Ashley's fury.
”Now hold on just a minute there, buddy. I may be Canadian with a girls name, moving here for reasons you shouldn't look into, but Ashley R. Cresswell doesn't just stand down on things like this, rich boy! So if you think you can scalp me; you've got another thing coming!” It was then that Ashley's brain processed the information. He hadn't said “I’ll take it” he said “We’ll”. ”On second glance, it occurred to me that you said… we will take it? By that I presume a roommate or SO perhaps?” Asked Ashley blushing embarrassed at his own rash nature.

Re: Blown into Town [SAMAEL]
Free furniture, now that was something Samael could get behind. ”Good.” He said almost smugly at the concept that he was essentially making like a thief with this one, though Ashley in a sense was as well. That was until Cresswell said something about being scalped, but he hadn’t even pulled a knife out yet. ”I….didn’t even know you were Canadian.” That was the only thing that came from his mouth, as the Samael looked rather confused by him. He was rash but Samael had dealt with stranger than just someone that leapt to conclusions, and uglier ones at that.
”Roommates is one way of putting it.” He said with a nod before turning back to said real estate agent. ”Do I need to sign anything now or does that come later?” Not like he would constantly be there, but then again it was always nice to have a constant home, especially when he ran his business within the very same city. ”I’m looking to move in as soon as possible.” Which was true enough, of course not leaving Ashley out of things.

Re: Blown into Town [SAMAEL]
Ashley had cooled down and thought about it. He hadn't been expecting the man to be so cool about his little outburst. “Well, first we will need to sign some papers, but if all goes well and the checks clear; you should be able to move in by next week.” Said Rebecca, who was pulling out papers and placing them on the table.
Ashley stared at the man a bit closer, he said roommates. And it certainly didn't seem that he was talking about someone else. “Mr. Cresswell?” Rebecca called which startled him to attention. ”Yes?” He asked despite himself. “You need to come sign too,” she said as understanding dawned upon Ashley's brain. ::”Idiot.”:: said the voice in his head. She seemed to be quieter today than normal, perhaps seeing that Martyr wouldn't be listening too much. Or perhaps she was having a drink with his anxiety to see how they could better get him to jump off a cliff.
”...we’re gonna be roommates?” Ashley broached to the red headed man.

Re: Blown into Town [SAMAEL]
Paper signing was never his favorite thing to do, but Samael ended up doing so without much complaint. A few signatures in certain places were enough, and this wasn’t his first time renting out an apartment anyway. It took a few minutes to fill out everything, so he would let Ashley fill out whatever he needed to do. They were going to be roommates, so that was just how things were supposed to work. Sometime around next week was an okay thig, just meant he would have to wait a few days to actually have a stable home over his head for a little bit.
There did come the question whether the male were even paying attention, which was continually shown by having things repeated to him, but he eventually did fill things out too. Then came the question again if they were going to be roommates, Samael just looking at him as if he asked if they were going to wrestle a giant snake instead. ”Well, that was the plan. I just thought it might be easier if we just split the rent rather than me getting the apartment and you getting nothing.” He shrugged, then burying his hands into his pockets.
”And since we’re going to have to live together, I was thinking of grabbing a bite to eat if you want to tag along.”

Re: Blown into Town [SAMAEL]
Ashley, while still slightly stunned that he had just gotten the apartment he had been vying for, and he didn't have to pay the full rent? This may have been the best day ever. Now, he could eat and have shelter.
Ashley smiled widely and turned to his new unnamed roommate. "Sure, I'll pay for it." He said with that wide smile as he pulled his wallet out of his pocket. "The name is Ashley, by the by."

Re: Blown into Town [SAMAEL]
Ashley had offered to pay for his food, and he wasn’t one to snub free food. ”If you insist.” he said with a smirk, not seemingly even bothered by the concept of having someone pay for his lunch. He also got a name from him, which is nice because he wanted a name other than Cresswell to call him. ”Well. Nice to meetcha Ashley. Names Samael but you can just call me Sam. Parents hated me apparently.” He explained, expecting the usual annoyances of someone question his name. he could’ve said his name was Samuel, but lying never went well in the end.
He ended up picking out a restaurant nearby that supposedly had good Italian food. Granted that was mostly because he looked up something like that on google, so maybe the reviews were all wrong. He could vaguely smell the food from here, but that came with the whole being a Cambion thing. Getting to know his roommate would have been nice, and food was also nice so he went with it. He ended up getting them a table for two, before a waitress picked them out a table and let them settle down in it with a menu.
”So, what caused you to move to Chicago?” He asked curiously with an arced brow.

Re: Blown into Town [SAMAEL]
Ashley smiled and nodded. "Sammy it is then." He said with a simple smirk.
After walking around, Sam picked out an Italian restaurant. The sins of the father move through the son." Said the voice in his mind. He hadn't heard it in a while, but he supposed it would've been lucky to assume that he'd be without her for long.
Samael picked a lovely Italian restaurant for lunch. He was looking at the menu when Samael asked a question he had been dreading since he arrived. He couldn't tell him that a telepathic crime lord gave him the boot after he had unwittingly entered his territory. "Oh, you know. Work complications. HR got on my back about some bad moves on my part. So they transferred me down here" He said. The waiter came back for their order, so Ashley ordered the chicken Parmesan which looked and sounded divine. "So why did you move here?" Ashley asked sipping on some soda.

Re: Blown into Town [SAMAEL]
Samael glared at Ashley for a moment, obviously not enjoying the moniker of Sammy. It was endearing in a fashion, though he was not too fond of anyone really calling him that. Not that he would do anything like assault someone over that. ” Whatever works I guess.” Was all he said in response, as they made their way to the little Italian restaurant that Samael favored. A part of him hoped that his roommate would also enjoy the food, if nothing else than to make the conversation itself pleasant. Otherwise he would just ended up fanaticizing about ways that he could put himself out of his own misery.
As he asked his own question, Ashley ended up saying something about work complications, which sounded like a possibility. Samael ended up picking spaghetti for himself, of course ordering breadsticks as that was apparently something that everyone wanted with their Italian cuisine experience. The question did end up being thrown back on him, however he couldn’t just say his last apartment was destroyed by a vial denizen of Hell. So Samael gave the next best thing, which was more likely to a worldly minded person anyway.
”Hero and a villain had a little fight, ended up leveling my old apartment.” Samael said, sipping on the transparent straw settled in his drink. ”Wasn’t expecting a roommate, but you seem like someone I won’t absolutely hate.” He then added, trying to sound as pleasant as possible, grinning as if that would bring across his joking tone.
”So, staying anywhere in the city? I mean, while you wait to move into your new apartment anyway.”

Re: Blown into Town [SAMAEL]
Ashley laughed. "Freaking Metas man. I don't want to sound like an asshole, but man. They've gotta get a handle on that whole situation, am I right?" He said, obviously trying to cover something up horribly.
He nodded, "You know, I don't think I'll hate you either Sammy. You certainly aren't as bad as my old roommate." He looked around, trying to show that he was joking about being completely serious. "The voices in my head." Ixtab grunted about how stupid the joke was, and that he was completely useless.
"I've got the Ashleymobile. It's pretty sweet, to be honest."
