Probation

I know this may sound like, and be, a really stupid idea, but here it goes. It seems as if staff doesn't like trashing apps because you haven't used or got bored of a character, as is common in the first few days/weeks after making them. So I propose this: After you post a character app, and it is approved, you enter into a two week probationary period, in which time you decide whether or not you truly like the character. At the end of the two weeks, the character is either trashed or not. If not, then the character cannot be trashed; if you get tired, you must wait until they have a legitimate reason to retire or kill them.

That's in the rules.

I know I stated something about a month of using the character; but there's no need to make so many characters and waste Staff's time approving it just to turn around a few days later and trash it.

It makes me not like the 5 char limit; it makes me want to decrease it. =\

I fully understand your point; also, what Rudy said, please don't lower the limit :/

Maybe you could put a limit on the amount of trashes a person can have? Like 1 every few months, so you won't get repeat offenders etc.
Just a thought!

Or how about if you trash it you have to wait a month or two before you can fill it's slot, so people really have to think twice!

I guarantee the character limit is never being raised. I'd even consider lowering it just for those that needlessly go through characters.

We could just void use of any experience from preemptively trashed characters. Also the retirement section is for characters who did stuff.

Ok, so how about this: You cannot trash a character unless you've had it for at least three months without using them, and can only use a slot from a character that has been killed/retired after at least six months has passed since the original character was created.

Setting a waiting period would be something we'd have to keep track of. While it's true we could make a thread for it, having to add to it every time a character is trashed would be a pain.
