Riverdance Soaps_river_city_paul_james_corrigan
When fighting he wears his regular clothing, although with an elaborate masque. While his body may appear human looking, on the higher planes of perception, it becomes apparent that he, like all Fae, is a construct of pure magic. Due to this he cannot lie, only misguide with tricky words, is vulnerable to iron, and when his true name is called three times, is summoned to the caller.

The Legacy

Personality:
Rory is the textbook definition of a seelie fae. A kindly trickster, one who is as likely to give you a magic potion to cure your ills as he is to play some cruel prank, he has a strong love for mischief. His particular brand of mischief is not necessarily evil or harmful, although it can be quite cruel. He has trouble understanding why anyone would be offended by his pranks and jokes, and this can lead to some… unfriendly relations.

Rory is not completely incapable of discipline; he follows the King and Queen of Spring, Puck and Fennel, with an overzealous devotion. The gentler side of his personality comes out in the presence of nature, he loves to be around rivers, springs, flowers, trees, anything and everything natural excites him. He has something of a green thumb when it comes to growing plants, and loves being around them. This love of plants has extended into a love of magic, specifically magic stemming from plants. He searches hungrily for any and all occult knowledge, although not to the fanatical extent of some human mages.

Rory has a sense of right and wrong, although he prefers to glide somewhere in the middle, he is still capable of being kind to humans, as are most of his Seelie brethren. A Fae with a love of nature and mischief, equal parts trickster and hero, Frisiel is something of an oddity.

History:

Frisiel was born in the year of 1815, in the land of Arcadia, where the Fae dwell. He was born a pure Fae, not turned by some foul ritual, rather born with all the natural abilities of Faekind. His mother was a serving lady who worked for King Puck and Queen Fennel, while his father was an advisor to the King and Queen. It was here, in the Spring Courts of Arcadia, where Frisiel would spend his early life.

As a young child, he loved causing mischief, stealing from the cookie jar, playing pranks, everything a healthy seelie child was expected to do. He loved swimming, diving, rivers, anything to do with water. Both his mother and his father had been River Fae, and passed down their talents to their son. His magic however, was quite strange. While most Fae children channeled magic through the methods of spellwork or Fae Magic, Frisiel channeled pure Quintessence, the force that all magic is led back to. He found himself maturing soon enough, and with that, being sent away from the house to find his own way in the world.

The first thing that Frisiel did when free of his bindings, at the age of fifty, was to go into the human world. The men of Earth were still superstitious back then, and he caused much mischief in his time. Stealing women from their men, stealing men from their women, granting wishes, being tricksy, everything a young Fae would want out of life. He had a few run ins with mages here and there, although these were easily avoided with a bit of magic and some charm here and there.

As his time in the human world came to a close, Frisiel would find his magic changing fundamentally, being shifted from plain water magic into something greater. He used to use Quintessence to simply force water to move and shift, but now he had learned to weave Quintessence into the water, giving it magical properties. His powers over Quintessence where also explored in more depth, and he found that with a bit of tutelage and exposure, he could teach others, be they human or Fae, to reproduce the effects. With this knowledge in hand, he returned to Arcadia.

Back in Arcadia, Frisiel seamlessly melded himself into court life, being chosen to be one of King Puck's retainers, and slowly gaining favor among the court. He fought any unwanted invaders, advised Puck on issues large and small, and generally had a great time of things.

In Arcadia, Frisiel took a wife, a fair maiden by the name of Illiana, and sired a daughter, who would be named Layana, however this happiness would not last. The family had been traveling to the human realm when a cult of mages would take kidnap them. Their experiments were cruel, and the child died quickly, while Illiana was completely obliterated, absorbed into a magical artifact. This enraged Frisiel, and he murdered each and every one of the mages, breaking their magical seals easily with his magic. He went back to Arcadia, and soon went into mourning.

Here, while in mourning, Frisiel had little fun, and many of his friends and family wept for his loss, although there would come an event in his life that would restore his joy and mischievous attitude. There was a ritual that Puck and Fennel performed every few hundred years known as "The Great Prank", this ritual would release all the pent up illusory magic stored within their castle, and also force all the trees of the Spring Court to bloom with spectacular force, releasing a drug-like pollen which would force all the Fae of the kingdom into an inebriated state. Frisiel happened to be in a dense forest during the ritual. As trees all around him exploded with the pollen and happy illusions skipped through his mind, his trauma was cured. Frisiel was whole again.

Now, as the era of technology and science is in full swing, Frisiel, now calling himself Rory MacAulay, or Riverdance, visits the human world quite often, sometimes causing innocent mischief, other times stopping vengeful mischief. He prefers to spend time in Scotland and Arcadia, but will go wherever his interest takes him.

The Powers

Power 1:
Occult Knowledge
Power 2:
Flight- Such a precise manipulation of Quintessence that one can soar through the skies, moving in any direction they please. This also allows him to have a great deal of mobility underwater.
Power 3:
Quintessence Force-

Water Magic- Rory can control water, moving it around in large quantities, forming constructs and the like, however, this water burns with quintessence, causing damage to those hit by it, and easily slicing through stone, steel, etc. He can draw this water from anywhere, be it from the ocean, the river, or the moisture in the air. He finds rain and river water the easiest to manipulate. As a secondary aspect, one that is more purely cosmetic than anything, when this water hits plants, they instantly bloom with spectacular flowers, leaves, etc. This doesn't make the plant dangerous or anything like that, merely extremely pretty. This magical water has a white sheen to it, being more white than blue. It is extremely clean under the influence of his powers. (8 ABI)

Water Breathing- Rory, as a River Fae, can breath water quite easily. He finds breathing salt water to be a little bit trickier, but still manageable. (1 ABI)
