The Looks

Spoiler:

The Legacy

Personality: Ariana's got a bit of a wild side and a love of thrills and can be a bit... immature/abrasive.  Ariana has a wicked sense of humor that often falls on the use of references and video game puns and juvenile insults.  Ariana is particularly caught up in being the hero, but she treats the "profession" with equal parts cavalier and casual attitudes.  She occasionally has a tendency towards theatrics or just plain old showing off.  However, she isn't overly serious about what she does and seems to at least partially be in it for the fun, rather than the responsibility and meaning of it all.

Likes: Video games, joking around, taking on new challenges, comic books, sci-fi movies, fiddling with technology, chocolate

Dislikes: Jerks & Bullies, people bringing up her height, school, authority figures

Fears: Humiliation, Claustrophobic

Bad Habits: Aside from perhaps being too cocky for her own good, Ariana may have a problem with knowing when one should stop antagonizing people.

History: Where Ariana comes from is a mystery to the world, but after previously being captured and analyzed, it was brought to light that she's somehow living code, equal parts digital and biological.  For a time the theory was that she was a video game character brought to life and given sapience.  However, there is no recorded record of any video game character with all of her abilities or her appearance.  Therefore there is no evidence to back the theory up.  It's been observed that she is most active in Bit City.  She frequents the area, often defending it from threats similar in nature to herself.  She also appears to have a handful of unidentified young allies.

In truth, Ariana is just a regular teenager, rather than some video game character made real.  She won the opportunity to test a video game in a virtual reality chamber being developed by her brother's boss.  However, there was a mishap.  Ariana grew impatient with a particular stage and decided to try a cheat.  The cheat, however, messed with the chamber, unbeknownst to her and everyone else.  She later found herself unable to leave the game.  She was apparently killed.  When she came around, she was... different.  And not a single developer had any idea what'd happened to her.  Days later, she began to experience strange sensations and soon she began to exhibit bizarre abilities.  Things came to a head when the city was attacked by the very game boss that apparently killed her in the game, itself.  Wanting payback, Ariana leapt at the chance to fight the brute using her new powers and this time she won.

Soon the whole city was onto the epic saga of its newest hero, Video-Girl.

The Powers and Weaknesses

(All characters can be as powerful as they want, as long as they are balanced with proper weaknesses.)
Powers

Superhuman Physiology: Ariana is capable of lifting around five tons undeterred and resisting a great deal of physical strain.  She's also slightly faster than the average person, being able to tap speeds just a tad faster than peak human.

Double Jump!: An iconic video game ability, Ariana can, in fact, break physics just to do a second jump in mid air.  She can even use the second jump to completely change trajectory while airborne.

Self Density Manipulation: An ability that Ariana uses most often in the iconic Ground Pound maneuver, Ariana can amp up her molecular density, making herself heavy and rock solid, or reduce it, making herself lighter and capable of passing through objects.

Danger Intuition: When in immediate danger, Ariana will sense this and an exclamation point will appear over her head.

Pixel Attacks & Constructs: The character in the game from which Ariana got her initial abilities is capable of using magical energy attacks (short to long range energy spheres and beams) and small but effective barriers for guarding.  In the real world, however, this works a bit differently.  Instead of legitimate magic, it is instead the act of generating pixels as solid matter for a similar effect.  She can also essentially create constructs of whatever she can imagine out of pixels, though the larger the construct, the harder it is to maintain.  As Ariana pulls off consecutive hits on her opponents (with physical attacks and/or pixel attacks), she builds up points.  When she's got a full combo meter, HYPER COMBOOO! She can unleash a devastating final attack in the form of an extremely powerful pixel blast that can derail a train.

Stealth: When hiding or sneaking, Ariana becomes invisible, generally as insurance.

Weakness(es)

Superhuman Physiology: While resistant to impacts, Ariana is vulnerable to piercing damage, i.e arrows, bullets, knives, swords, etc. That said, she also only RESISTS impacts.  A strong enough hit would still hurt.

Double Jump: Ariana is briefly vulnerable after landing.

Self Density Augmentation: When Ariana increases her density, she becomes slower.  When she decreases it, she becomes faster, but also lighter and controlling her movements is harder.

Danger Intuition: Ariana isn't Spider-Man. Just because she senses the danger, doesn't necessarily guarantee she can do something about it if otherwise occupied.

Pixel Attacks & Constructs: Ariana's Pixel abilities require Magic.  When she uses her abilities, her HUD's Magic Meter decreases.  Once it drops to zero, she can perform no more magic (beyond guarding) until it replenished a minute later.  Hyper Combo fully depletes whatever is left of the meter when it's unleashed.

Stealth: All this does is allow Ariana to go unseen.  She still has to be quiet.  Furthermore, she can't use her other abilities while in Stealth Mode or she'll drop out of stealth mode entirely.

Viral Assault: Because half of her makeup is code, a computer virus can have ill effect on her if absorbed, resulting in temporary loss of control of or just general loss of her abilities.

Cooling: Freezing and below freezing temperatures can render Ariana painfully sluggish when using her abilities, therefore cutting her speed.

RP Mechanics

Health Bar: When Ariana is injured, a health bar pops up over her and decreases.  When it reaches zero, she doesn't die, but her powers temporarily stop functioning until she's rested and ready to go, again.

Data Copy: Ariana has copied data from video games to add to her abilities and arsenal over time. ((Essentially will be used to explain future advancements and such)).

Free Running: Copied from some sort of assassin game as well as a few wall running talents from superhero games and wall jumping skills from cartoon games, Ariana has mastered the art of traversing the concrete jungles on foot.

Heads-up Display: If she's ever feeling lost, Ariana can activate a mental heads-up display ability.  She brings up a small map in the bottom right corner of her field of vision, indicating all points of interest and enemies on this map, and highlights engaged enemies in the immediate vicinity. It also shows her the meters on her Magic and Combo Points.  This was picked up from a Sandbox game she copied.

Meta Awareness: Being half video game character (and the ability to steal powers from other video games), Ariana possesses a keen 4th Wall awareness. Although she isn't as in-your-face about it as some characters *coughdeadpoolcough*.

Martial Artistry: The central character of the game from which Ariana originally got her powers came with combat knowledge, particularly specializing in kicks. She's also picked up a few moves from fighting game characters.

Driving Skillz!: From cart racing games, mostly, Ariana has picked up mad driving skills.

Living Data: Ariana is a living video game character.  She's pixel fused with biology.  As such, she is perhaps the only being short of A.I's that can make use of her various video game power-ups as she can activate the code within them.

Theme Music: When Ariana leaps into action, an epic 8-Bit rock tune begins playing on a loop.

Items/Minions

Inventory: Ariana comes equipped with a "Magic Satchel."  Which is a bag that is bigger on the inside, than the outside and houses all of her power-ups and gear.  They also hold a host of mundane items, such as banana peels.

Terp Shells: Bizarre, turtle-like shells with rockets attached that are more or less indestructible and can be sent zipping off as a projectile to wreck some stuff.  They tend to ricochet around and cause mayhem.  The Red and Blue variety actually still have the little critters inside and these critters actually aim themselves at a target and home in on them.
Drawback: That ricocheting can come back to bite Ariana in the rear.  If they get going fast enough between bounces, they're not fun to get hit by.

Angel Wing: Taken from another game is the Angel Wing item.  A feather that, when activated, becomes a pair of wings on the user's back that allow them to glide.
Drawback: The Angel Wing can only remain active for thirty seconds at a time.  After which it can't be used again for five minutes.

Bombs: God knows where she got 'em, but Ariana carries a number of black bombs.
Drawback: The bombs have a limited range and aren't particularly powerful unless Ariana takes the ten seconds to fully charge them.  At base level they merely pack a degree of concussive force.

Gold Ring: If Ariana plucks a ring from her satchel, it means it's time to go fast. She's coated in a protective aura that prevents her from taking any damage from what'd otherwise be a bad hit.  Also, while this aura is active, Ariana's speed can punch up to mach-1.
Drawback: The aura granted by the ring only shields Ariana from one hit.  Once that barrier is gone, not only is Ariana vulnerable again, but she also loses the speed boost.

Shrinking Violet: What does this little flower sound like it does? It lets Ariana shrink. Specifically down to mouse size.
Drawback: Only lasts about a minute.

Food: Ariana can eat real food, though it won't do anything for her abilities.  So she carries around food materialized from games.  This food restores her health meter.
Drawback: More a drawback of her own than the food, itself. Ariana can only heal herself until the fullness gauge (which shows up whenever she eats) fills up.  When it's full, she has to wait as the food will no longer heal her after that point, even if her health meter drops.  The meter drops after about ten minutes.

Buster Cannon: An arm cannon that fires weak electromagnetic bolts or powerful electromagnetic bursts. More effective against tech than Ariana's "magic" attacks.
Drawback: While the weaker shots have incredible range, they're really only good for annoying and distraction.  Charged shows, however, are very short range and therefore require getting in close.

BFS "BIG F***ING SWORD": A broad sword about as long as Ariana is tall, the "BIG F***ING SWORD* is actually called Reality Rend. But Ariana gave it the nickname.  The sword can deflect projectiles, is nearly indestructible, shoots beams of energy, and can fly back to Ariana's hand at her command.  But its chief ability is to be used to tear a hole in "reality" and summon Megabyte, the Code Dragon.
Drawback 1: Reality Rend's energy beam can only be fired if Ariana is at full Health and Megabyte can only be summoned if she's got a full Magic meter.
Drawback 2: The BFS isn't actually in Ariana's inventory like the rest of her power-ups and gear.  She has to summon it.  And doing that takes a minute.

MEGABYTE: A fictional deity from the series that Ariana got her original abilities from, Megabyte (a corrupted version of him, anyway, called Virus)  is actually the final boss of the first game, a nearly kaiju-sized (80-ish ft) serpentine dragon. A purified version of him appears as a summon in the two follow-ups.  When summoned, Megabyte attacks with his sheer size and power, but also has the ability to breathe a powerful burst of energy called Binary Roar.
Drawback 1: Just because Ariana summoned Megatbyte, doesn't mean he's particularly going to heed her.  She is still "a mortal" and thus capable of poor judgment calls.
Drawback 2: Megabyte may even refuse to allow his summoning if he feels Ariana is  calling him meaninglessly.
Drawback 3: When Megabyte is summoned, the spirit leaves the sword.  The sword is thusly no long able to project energy beams or return to Ariana's hand if thrown or dropped.  And the problem with that is that Megabyte can only remain summoned as long as Ariana is armed with the sword. So if she is disarmed, Megabyte is forced back into the blade.
Drawback 4: As soon as Megabyte is summoned, Ariana's magic meter begins to decrease.  Once it's down to zero (which occurs within about a minute) Megabyte is drawn back into the blade.  After which point Megabyte can't be summoned for another hour.

How does the danger intuition work exactly? Precognition isn't allowed so she's going to need a means of knowing how she's in danger.

The hyper combo, stealth and health bar weaknesses aren't going to work. Hyper combo itself isn't an actual power really.

Actually I meant to put the health bar in the Mechanics section. It's more or less entirely visual. Beat her up enough and powers go bye-bye. Not sure how I missed that one.  Is the Hyper Combo more of an addition to the Pixel stuff, then?  Since she couldn't do it without building up the meter, I didn't know if that qualified as its own power of not.

The Danger Intuition is basically a nod to the Arkham games or early renditions of the Spider Sense. "Something's about to hit me from that general direction. I better move."

All is fixed, I believe. Also added a weakness to Megabyte because it disappeared on me the first time.
