The Looks

Richard isn't exactly the most distinctive person in the world. He has short black hair, dark brown eyes and a fair build, neither very large nor that wiry. His height his roughly average and there is very little about him that would set him apart in a crowd.

Personality:
Very much an 'everyone for themselves' sort of person, Richard does whatever he feels he must in order to look out for number one. Life's rather cruel lessons have taught him that he has to be ready to do pretty much anything it takes to get anywhere in the world. While he's not the type to kill a man simply for the sake of it, he won't hesitate to do so if it means saving his own skin. He doesn't consider, nor does he particularly care, about the consequences of his actions beyond that which directly affects him. At times, he can seem extremely callous, but he does have more empathetic side as with most people, good or bad. In a time where superhumans of all shapes and sizes are pretty much everywhere, it's understandable that due to his current occupation as a career criminal he feels a great sense of dread at the prospect of running into one of them, being nothing more than a simple human. Whereas some of those super types would be able to take a hail of gunfire, a broken bone, or a vicious beating from the radioactive behemoth of planet Glorax and keep on kicking, Richard has a very human fear of even the most mundane dangers they seem to face, and rightfully so.

History:
Richard has a fairly standard back story for a low life criminal. He was raised alone by his mother in a shabby New York apartment and educated in public school. He doesn't know what happened to his father and quite frankly, doesn't care. For all Richard cared he was laying dead in a ditch somewhere. School was something that never really agreed with him. At first it wasn't even his lack of effort, but because of several 'differences of opinion' he had with many of the staff and students there, not to mention the apparent disdain some of the teachers had for his mother because of her less than positive reputation. Eventually he just stopped bothering to attend highschool and ended up falling into a rough crowd. Then a street hoodlum, he built a less than impressive record with the police, having been arrested for countless minor offences. His luck ran out after one particularly vicious assault charge that got him incarcerated in a state pententiary. Only just eighteen when he was imprisoned, he spent the next five years of his life locked up. Luckily, he had a fairly uneventful stay and actually having known several of the inmates he managed to stay out of trouble and blend into the masses. Upon his release and subsequent return home, he was hit with the news that his mother had been found dead in her apartment a year before. The offical police report said she'd cracked her head open in a home accident and while Richard had his doubts, there wasn't much he could do. Evidently, his time spent in the slammer didn't do much to deter his criminal lifestyle and in fact, thanks to the time he spent improving his fitness and the people he met, he was now better at it. Since then, he's been living his meager and shallow life as a career criminal and all round thug, a string of theft and occasional homocide trailed behind him.
