Return of the Samaritan

I would like to bring my former character, The Samaritan back into the current continuity. By now he would have taken on his status as Germany's greatest hero and started his progression into his ultimate incarnation as a world dominating super villain. I have new costume designs for him, and I could tell the story he missed in flashback. I believe right before I left he'd recently been upgraded through several quests.

Is there a particular reason for it needing to be a flashback?
If the progression could happen in current time it would flow much better. When any character takes on any kind of status that resonates within the superhero mythos it would be nice for players to take part in it. Flashbacks remain untouched by other players, and that can become a problem with inter-literary godmode of some sorts.
Post an app for it with what exactly the status would contain, because greatest superhero in Germany would constitute that any character from Germany would have heard of your character. If you acted in an rp with another character who hailed from Germany you could insist that they would have heard of your character for the reason that he is the greatest superhero in Germany, and that begins to denote a type of god-mode that I have put down in the past.
