The Pain of a True Hero... Empty The Pain of a True Hero...

Post by Pain July 30th 2009, 12:31 am

Pain stood beneath the night sky, he was wearing a white t-shirt and black jeans...It was raining rather heavily, pounding onto his numb body...When it rained...It was the few moments in life where he could actually feel everything...Sort of...It wasn't entirely numb, he could feel something...For some reason the rain always did this to him...Something he could never explain, but always hid from everyone...He stared up into the night sky as rain drops pounded onto his face...They were cold, but it didn't bother him...It felt nice, for the first time in awhile he was at peace...He stared up at the stars...The lights of the city always made it harder to see them, but Pain stood on a very high rooftop; making the lights not matter as much...He could see more than usual...It was a beautiful sight, the rain, the stars, the moon, the night sky....Everything seemed perfect, a tad depressing, but also relaxing...He had done so much for this world, for everyone...Good or bad, he had changed many lives...And saved many too...He was truly a hero, not just for the people of Earth...but for his friends too...For everyone...Pain was their icon, their hero...The man everyone would turn to in the end...It was a heavy burden to bear...But it was his burden...For some reason, some one out there...Whether it be god, or not...Some one wanted this to happen to this man, some one wanted Brock Oday to become Pain...He had been through so much, so many friends he had seen die. No man should have to bury both his brothers in one lifetime...but this man has endured it all, heartbreak after heartbreak...He always seemed unbreakable, but he really wasn't...He couldn't quite ever get her off his mind, he couldn't be happy...The world had already taken so much from him, couldn't he just have one thing? The only person who could truly make him crumble...His ex-lover Alruna...But alas, maybe this is his fate...To be alone...To die alone...

The Pain of a True Hero... Empty Re: The Pain of a True Hero...

Post by Mekasoundwave July 30th 2009, 1:23 am

"Rain." That was what they called this water from the sky that poured on Alruna. They didnt have this back in Hell, mostly because there was no sky. Everyone always seemed so sad when it happened, which confused Alruna to no end. "It's just fuckin' water...It's not like it'll kill you..." No one was really out tonight, so she was free to walk in her natural demon form. The rain left of bit of a strange sensation on Alruna, and made her feel cold, but she didnt really mind. And she didnt see why rainy weather equaled sadness. She would know sadness.Being nearly killed on the moon would definately make you less than cheery. Lusting after a man who you cared deeply for, only to be rejected every time, is definately a bummer. Being caught doing what you do better than anyone else with someone besides that man, something you are born to do, and need to do to survive, just as you were starting to break through to him....."Why? Why? Why did that have to happen?" The worst part is, she didnt think she'd ever be able to apologize to Pain and make it up to him. She sighed, and flew upwards ontop of a nerbye building. "Maybe if sit down and just watch the city I can get him out of my head." As she reached the top, she saw him and realized that would be quite impossible.

"P-P-Pain?"

The Pain of a True Hero... Empty Re: The Pain of a True Hero...

That voice...It ringed through his ears...It was her voice...His head slowly brought itself down from viewing the stars, returning to it's normal place...He stood with his back turned to her, and his arms crossed as the rain poured onto him; his white shirt was practically transparent...He popped his neck slowly from right to left before speaking...His head slightly turning to the left so that the left side of his face was visible to her. "That's what they call me..."

Alruna blushed, well, she got as close to blushing as she could, what with being purple. She rubbed the back of her head in embarassment.

Pain simply turned his head back to it's original place, he took a moment before speaking...It was kind of awkward to hear her again...To see her again...It felt nice...But he wasn't sure what this occasion meant, so he kept his defenses up..."Hi..." He calmly replied in his very deep and raspy voice.

Alruna kept rubbing the back of her head. This was weird. She hadn't expected to see Pain ,much less have to make small talk with him.

The Pain of a True Hero... Empty Re: The Pain of a True Hero...

Post by Pain August 1st 2009, 5:46 pm

Pain shook his head from left to right, was he really that hard to approach...Was he really that hard to talk to...He had to be that way, he had to be strong for everyone...Criminals by nature are a cowardly and superstitious lot. To instill fear into their hearts I became Pain, a monster seeking vengeance. And in doing so, have I become the very thing all monsters become...Alone...? Pain moved slightly to the right, his body still was not facing her though. He turned his head to look at her and calmly replied..."Letting my mind wander..." As he finished his sentence he lifted his head to look at the stars, rain pouring on his aged and scarred face as he did so...He moved his head back to look at her, his intimidating bright blue eyes staring at her...."How bout you girlie?"

"Nothing much. Walking around, thinking...."
Alruna wasnt intimidated by Pain's piercing stare. She was used to it and wasnt scared of it.She did smile at him calling her girlie. That seemed to be his term of endearment to her.

The Pain of a True Hero... Empty Re: The Pain of a True Hero...

Post by Pain August 1st 2009, 9:45 pm

Pain couldn't help but continue with his intimidating stare, it was just a natural thing. "Something on your mind eh? What's a matter, you should be happy...You got your love." He said calmly, there was no anger in his voice surprisingly...Just a calm deep raspy voice...He had learned to accept things as they come, despite how much it hurt him. He had no control over his fate, no one did; because your own fate is inevitable...Only others can intervene and change it...He could control the fate of others, the fate of his allies, the fate of humanity, the fate of the Earth...That is the fate he would fight to change, but his own was a different story...He would be strong no matter how destroyed he was on the inside, he would no longer let his emotions get the best of him...

Alruna sighed and walked closer to Pain.
"Pain, if you can forgive on person, please forgive Chaos. He didnt know what I had with you...It's not his fault...It's mine...Sometimes I just-I just want to fuck everything I see....It's who I am...."
Alruna hung her head. She was now only about 5 feet from Pain.

Post by Pain August 3rd 2009, 12:20 am

Pain took a deep breath through his nose as her words ringed through his ears...Forgive Chaos?...He just couldn't...Pain wasn't the forgiving type...Plus if Chaos truly did feel bad for it, why would he have continued to see Alruna even after he knew..."I could give you a thousand reasons why I shouldn't, but I won't..." Pain shook his head at her, why was she defending Chaos...Maybe she really was happier with him...As much as it tore him up inside, he would rather have her be happy...Than the other way around..."And sometimes I want to rip every fucking villain I see in half...But I don't, the last man I killed was Doomplague...I learned to control myself...Why couldn't you..."

Alruna sighed again, and looked up at Pain, hurt on the inside and somewhat close to crying.
"I cant just learn to control it...It-It's psychological. It's like nymphomania...basically the same thing, actually...I was born to be like that,it's what I'm supposed to do, so I was raised learning not to repress it....I cant just control it! It's part of who I am!'
Alruna hung her head again. The pain in her voice was obvious.

Post by Pain August 3rd 2009, 3:35 pm

Pain sighed at her, her words were hard to understand, but he tried his hardest to do so..."I can't live my life...knowing you'll be in his arms each time I blink my eyes." He turned his body to the left, his back facing her again...He assumed that this conversation was nearing it's close, he didn't want to fight her but at the same time he did want to...He wanted to say all the things that he could have said...Should have said...There was a small poem he had always kept...Something he had heard from a man playing guitar on the street...A man by the name of Anthony...For some reason the song was ringing through his ears, they wouldn't leave his thoughts...

Alruna couldnt help it anymore. She began crying and ran the remaining distance to Pain, and latched onto him, hugging his much larger form as best she could.

The Pain of a True Hero... Empty Re: The Pain of a True Hero...

Post by Pain August 3rd 2009, 8:22 pm

As Alruna latched herself onto Pain, he breathed deeply through his nose, then exhaled in the same manner...There was so much he wanted to say, and wanted ask...But he knew he would never get the answers he wanted...He just wasn't naive enough to believe in a happy ending, because this isn't some cheap fairytale...This was reality...He had tasted the cold steel of his life crashing down before him, because that is reality...At least his...Despite how he felt, he had to do something for himself...He had to enjoy his love one final time before it slipped from his hands...Even if it were only for a few moments...In those few moments he would be happy..."I'm sorry Alruna...For everything..." He hadn't been the perfect guy to her either, he felt guilty for the many times he had neglected her or acted as if he never wanted her around, even though he felt the exact opposite...Every moment with her was great, they were the few moments he actually felt alive...He couldn't help it...It was apart of who he was...
