Erm, yo. I'm new here. Obviously. >.<

I'm not at all used to this style of RPing, as I've been exclusively playing in writing simulations and RPs online, (where there is no point system, and it's more like cooperating novel writing than RPGing.) Still, I've been itching to try some superhero roleplaying, and this group looked like it was active, well maintained, and fun. I'm still not sure how this point buy system works, but I'll do some reading and see what it's all about.

Now, seriously, welcome to the site mate. How did you find us, and what writing simulations have you been on? As for your lack of experience on these sites, no worries, we're a rather accepting community and we'll have you in shape for all kinds of rps soon. It's not too tough when you have the hang of things here, and the point system isn't too difficult to figure out. You have any questions, ask me or the other mods.

I've been Rping for about seven years now, starting with a Play By Forum RP site called Moonwillow RP. Since then I have hosted my own Game over at Obsidian Fleet where I was in command of the USS Cerberus and later the SS Compass Rose. I've played on numerous other RP's/Simms, mostly Star Trek based, over the years, and am currently a member of a great Mass Effect RP over at Yuku boards. (I'm also an experienced D&D player and DM with over ten years experience at the gaming table).

I'm a moderately well-to-do writer who takes part in NaNoWriMo each year and is studying English as a minor in school. (Ok, so technically I haven't decided between English and theater yet, so sue me). I'm used to a cooperative writing style of RP, where there is loads of exposition and if there is any sort of DM he takes the role of storyteller rather than rule referee. Still, I think I can get my head around a more rule oriented style of play.

I ran a google search, (ok a few dozen of them), yesterday after watching the new Green Lantern movie, (Green Lantern was always my favorite hero). I found umpteen dead superhero RP's and umpteen immature RP's where everyone wrote like they were ten years old. (Which in all fairness they probably were). Then I came across you guys on some other forum, (someone had written some sort of introductory ad for this group), so I hopped over here, took one look and noted the fact that people here seemed to have a clear grasp of english and storytelling and I signed up right away.

So yeah, glad to be here, and thanks again for the welcome.

I'm also going to be doing an English and History under grad course in Uni in 2 years time - so do English not theatre!!! (:

@Ember: When NaNo rolls around this year we'll totally have to be internet writing buddies. Thanks again for the welcome, I'm looking forward to gaming with my new superhero. Who knows, maybe our characters will cross paths at some point 'eh? (Is it just me or is that 'smile' emoticon slightly creepy...?)

@Wally/Elena/Marie/John: Nice set of names there, I'll try too keep them all in mind. Thanks for the welcome and hopefully our characters will cross paths sometime in the near future.

This one is creepy... :face: It is used in a lot of sexual comments on the c-box. Just a heads up and yes we will !! =D Did you complete last year? Actually, come on the c-box and chat Mr. Our characters will deffo meet, it's unavoidable.

Yes actually, I entered in '06 and '07 and I've won during the three following years. It's going to be very hard this year though as I'll have full time school AND work, something I haven't had to contend with yet. (Plus planning a trip to India next year). Still, I'll give it my best, I already have some story idea's floating around.

Alright, I'll drop by the C-box for a few. I have to do yoga now as well however and I have an appointment for an ear piercing in a couple of hours so I'll only be on for a few moments today. (Explains all details of personal life to the internet).

By the way, how long does it take a character to get approved?

And it depends on the Mod you bother and if they listen or not and how long you bother them into insanity. xD
