What are we looking for?
For this experimental contest, we want you to give us an advancement for your character. This can be anything from your character developing new powers, to buying or building some new gadget. No Vorik, you can’t just have DANGER DAN! buy a gun. That’s not an advancement. A jar of horseradish isn’t an advancement either.
But not only do we want an advancement, you need to give us a 1k word minimum, 5k word maximum short story to go with it.
Where should I draw inspiration?
Unlike other contests, this one is freeform. These advancements should be drawn from your characters history and future. That’s all.
What am I being graded on?
Creativity
Your job is to create an advancement and story that makes sense both in terms of your character and in universe while still being unique to your character.
Concept
The concept here is how good the idea for your advancement is, and how well it fits with your character in the first place.
Execution
This goes without saying that we're looking at the overall application and flow of the application. How pleasing it was to read, and how easy it was to understand. Was the story really well written? Did it make sense for the character? Are the powers perfect?
Who is grading me and how?
Grading Scale
With the three main components of Creativity, Concept, and Execution there will be a grading scale of 1-10. 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest.
Bonus Points
Bonus points will be handed out based on two categories: Grammar will be graded on a scale of 1-5. 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest. Attainability will be graded on a scale of 1 - 5. 1 being something staff wouldn’t be able to approve or is only tangentially related to your character, while 5 is something totally perfect for your character that we wouldn’t even question bringing on site.

My options for who I can put in this contest are incredibly limited as you know, but my goal is rather simple. I will have something ready and I hope it does just as well as the character themselves.
