Personality: Derek Knight is a very fun loving, easy going kid. He's easy to get along with, but can get very timid if need be.

History:
Derek Knight is a champion kick boxer who won the Youth Kickboxing Championship back in his hometown 3 years in a row.

Fighting crime is something that didn't cross his mind until a fateful night after kickboxing practice when he witnessed a kid about his age, being mugged in an alleyway. Derek hid behind some trashcans, peaking in-between them trying to find a good opportunity to try and save his peer.

However, Derek knocked over a trashcan lid which startled the mugger, who shot the kid in the torso and proceeded to run away.

Derek rushed over to the fallen teen, who was bleeding pretty bad. Derek tried to get the kid to come to, but the kid slipped in out of conscienceless.  

Derek wrapped one of the kid's arms around his shoulder's and slowly made is way down the ally. The kid, unbeknownst to Derek, had already passed on as Derek was dragging him down the ally.

That night forever changed Derek, and so on, he had established a reputation amongst his city as being Kid Panther.

Flash forward to 2012 to the announcement of Paragon City's demise, Derek Knight, a former member of the Portal Corps. Spec Ops Division, used his employer's portals to transport himself to another universe, one steeped in mystery and ruin.
