Lord Tempest

Post by Lord Tempest on August 3rd 2012, 12:10 pm

Real Name: Cyrus Williams
Super Hero/Villain/Renegade/etc Name: Lord Tempest
Title: Prince of the Air
Alignment: Villain
Age: 37
Gender: Male
Race: Cyclonian
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Blue
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 170 lbs

Costume Description/Image:

Personality: Cyrus is constantly on edge and always aware of his surroundings. He's been referred to as skittish by many, and he is constantly worried that anyone close to him will betray him, although this is unfounded as it has never happened in the past. When confronting a hero he tries to present himself as very cool, and tends to strut, however, it is easy to tell it is merely a charade due to his tendency to slip into skittish episodes, especially if people play mind games with him, which is easy to do due to his seeming unstable psychological state.

History: Cyrus was a prince on his home planet of Cyclonia, a world known for it's unusual and unpredictable extreme weather. The entire surface of the planet seems to birth and extinguish storms, tornadoes, and powerful gales of wind in mere minutes. The truth is that the planet is populated by an indigenous people with the ability to manipulate air currents, to speed up existing wind, create extreme weather, and known for their loyalty to the royal family.

The royal family have a tradition of family hierarchy. The eldest son, the Crown Prince, maintains a rigid schedule almost from birth to one day succeed his father, should a family hold onto the crown for long enough to pass it on. The daughters are trained to battle in both hand-to-hand combat and weaponry, and made into an elite bodyguarding unit to protect the King, Queen, and Crown Prince. The younger sons are trained into military training and strategy, and are made into officers of the royal army. Cyrus has been the the leader of the Purple Dragoons, the most efficient and professional squadron in the Cyclonian Royal Army since he was 20 years old. He is referred to as Lord Cyrus by all subordinate soldiers. The Purple Dragoons are often sent to investigate threats in the Cyclonian Empire, a syndicate of over 20 star systems, aboard their ship, the Cosmic Tempest, capable of going several times light speed. It also bears the sole privelege of not requiring a homing beacon. Military plots were numerous in the history of Cyclonia.

On a mission to scout new worlds for the Cyclonian Empire to expand to, the Cosmic Tempest was caught in a destructive asteroid belt. Having none of the skill to pilot the Tempest through the asteroids, Cyrus' ship's engines were destroyed. He managed to limp past a barren red planet, but the ship got caught by the gravity of the next planet, one that reminded Cyrus of a blue-green marble he had played with as a child. That was his last thought as the ship fell to Earth and the soldiers were all sent into cryo-stasis.

The ship crashed into the ocean just south of a landmass called Great Britain. For 5 years, Cyrus and his soldiers remained in cryo-stasis before he was awoken by a venture from the nearest country. Whilst under cryo-stasis, the ship's computer analysed the language the humans spoke, and incorporated it into the vast quantities of data it had siphoned from the World Wide Web, which in turn led to the Cyclonians' brains. Cyrus and the Purple Dragoons awoke, defeated the humans that tried to apprehend them and made their way to the surface of the water. Swimming to land, the younger prince slowly came to the realisation that not only were they stranded on an alien planet with a crippled ship, but also that nobody knew where they were, nor when to expect them back. In order to get a message to their planet, they would need to get the ship from the depths of the ocean.

Powers: Aerokinesis - Cyrus, like all Cyclonians, has the ability to manipulate air and air currents. By spinning rapidly in a circle, he can create tornadoes, or by concentrating, he can change the wind direction and increase it's speed to hurricane force. Focusing air directly under an object and then up can perform a sort of lifting effect. In addition, he can control the concentration of gases in the air, such as increasing oxygen concentration to allow a fire to burn stronger and for longer.

Gliding - By focusing powerful wind under him, he can create a powerful updraft to aid in gliding or in slowing a fall.

The Air Slash - Cyrus' most powerful ability, utilised by the combination of a particularly difficult aerokinetic technique taught only to the royal family and swinging a sword. By manipulating the difference in air pressure a rapid sword swing creates, Cyrus can send out a crescent-shaped blade of air, capable of hewing through even steel reinforced concrete. This is rarely used as it takes up a lot of energy, and repeated use can lead to physical injury.

Roleplay Sample: Cyrus pushed open the heavy door with a grunt of exertion. The warehouse was dusty, but full of people. They turned to look at the fifty Purple Dragoons, and their leader, with more than a few puzzled grunts. Cyrus' clothing was vivid and unusual on this planet, but he was wearing his princely best. "In the name of the Cyclonian Empire, I, Prince Cyrus, declare this structure an outpost for Cyclonian forces. Please exit quietly." Having said this, his right hand man, Commander Grek placed a hand on his sword hilt. "Unless we're going to have some trouble." The prince added, getting ready for a battle, his eyes analysing the angry gangsters that even now seized up broken bits of lead pipe and other improvised weaponry. The Dragoons created a circle in the middle of the warehouse floor.

"We are outnumbered two to one, my lord." Grek said respectfully, as he cracked his knuckles. "This should not take a long time." The first wave of gangsters charged. The Dragoons did not draw weapons. They did not need to, as the men fell when hit by their effective hand-to-hand strikes. Grek took a breath. The first wave had taken even less time than he had thought. "Dragoons, whip up a storm!" He ordered. The conscious gangsters drew back when the Cyclonians broke their circular formation. One of them, apparently the leader of this motley crew, pointed at Cyrus.

"He's the leader, get 'im, get the prince guy!" Men tossed themselves at Cyrus, swinging their weapons at his slight form. He was a red and blue blur, the men that attacked him were simply left in the trail of felled opponents behind him. His strategy was a simple disarm-rapid KO courtesy of his Raging Typhoon fighting style. He managed to get them to the end of his armspan, then he started to begin a dangerous offensive, moving like a lightning streak, dropping the pipe as he started his maneuver. He jumped over one man and kicked out, sending the man down in a pile. With a backhand, he summoned a gust of powerful air and blew a pzir of guys out of the window on the left side of the building, and they landed in the river beside the building, the Thames.

After a solid three minutes of combat, Grek shouted and everyone ceased movement, a few Cyclonians holding humans from the ground. "STOP! All humans vacate the premises." The leader of the gang let out a gurgling murmur, his words muffled by the powerful arm squeezing down on his throat. " 'Or what?' " Grek replied, drawing his blade and placing it on top of his arm, the blade resting against the gangster's throat. "Or I slit your throat and we take the building." The gangster stopped struggling as the Dragoon said 'slit your throat', swallowed deeply and nodded, gurgling an order to his men. One by one, they filed out of the building.

"I had it under control, you know." Cyrus remarked, his wounded pride clear as much in his voice as it was in his blue eyes that seemed to fill with water as he spoke.

"No doubt." Grek replied with as little emotion as he would talk to an inanimate object. He was the only soldier who could ever work up the courage to occasionally speak to the prince in such a manner.[/img]

This is actually looking good.

Just remember that you have Psedo-flight, not perfect flight.

You could possibly gain perfect flight in the future; but you'd have to buy a powerpoint with gained EXP and basically.. "throw" it away to give you the ability to have perfect flight with your powers.

It's your call. (PM me or find me in the chatbox, or any other mod or admin, if you have questions.)

(:

Approved & Moved.
