Costume Description/Image:Brendan usually wears a shirt and tie with a vest, covered by a large brown trench coat.

Personality: Brendan usually prefers his own company to others, but he is at heart a kind man concerned with justice. Protecting others is his duty, and he will always put his life on the line to do so. He's a bit old fashioned, and a bit sexist. He'll always make sure women and children are safe before anything else. He has a soft spot for kids, especially girls. His kind nature is masked by years of bitterness, and he can come off as a cynic and an asshole. He finds himself internally monologuing often.

History: Brendan used to be what you'd call a decent man. He worked hard as a cop for a wife and kids he loved. He worked long hours, and sometimes he fought with his wife molly like cats and dogs. At the end of the day though, he was doing work he was proud of, and his wife and kids were proud of him too. He was good at his job too, with a brain that was wasted on the beat. Eventually he was asked to head a new task force of the LAPD, a unit designed specifically to stop metahuman criminal threats. Opinions were mixed on his unit. It's casualties were somewhat regular, and it still had less of a success rate than the average freelance hero. Even so, Brendan was passionate. The defense of the people shouldn't be left to irresponsible metahumans, once we let them fight our battles the world no longer belongs to the humans.

Brendan kept himself safe even while putting himself in front of super-powered villains, but he lost his life just the same. Not in the line of duty but on a short in-town vacation. He was driving his family of three, which used to be four. Tragedy had already struck when his son was hit by a drunk driver and passed away. Life carried on though, and even with the pain they were happy. Until a superhuman criminal blew up their car. Not for any purpose, not to gain anything. It wasn't someone Brendan put away settling an old grudge. He was killing random people for fun, for shock value, to show the "hero" he was fighting what a big evil badass he was. and the hero was too concerned with his fight to do what a hero should be doing, protecting. Brendan's wife and daughter were DOA. Brendan clung to life, and was saved by a radical surgery. Make no mistake though, he lost his life that day.

Being a part of the anti-meta squad Brendan was given an experimental surgery the government had been cooking up to even the odds with superhumans. He was saved, but much of his flesh was replaced with mechanical parts. He was made stronger and faster. As soon as legally able, he rejoined his squad. His upgrades made him perform wonderfully, but caused a rift between him and the rest of the department. Somehow, he wasn't Brendan Killian anymore. He was another super, another freak. Everyone that wasn't uncomfortable around him hated him. So he quit the force and became a private eye. Now he's the last sane man in a world gone insane, trying to convince himself he's still human; and that this world still belongs to humans. Some people think he's a hero, some people think he's a freak, and some people just think he's an old man playing a new game and he's out of his league.

Powers: Brendan has improved physical qualities due to his mechanical aspects. He also has a rebreather in his lungs which make him immune to any harmful effects in the air such as smoke or poison gas. He still smokes constantly though.
