A tale of two gods [Yamm] Empty A tale of two gods [Yamm]

Post by Samael Christensen April 3rd 2015, 5:43 am

The first thing Idol had learned about this realm, aside from the humans disliking weapons being carried around, as that armor was also something they did not so commonly wear. Granted, a lot had happened between that revelation and him actually acting upon it, still not enough time to garner any sort of following sadly. People of this world were so cynical, willing to deny his godhood for one reason or another, either through a lack of belief or just claiming that their souls belonged to another god. Strangely enough, they were not too privy to bringing him to this god, instead they only grew indignant upon his insistence. Eventually, he grew tired of trying to reason with them and so idol had begun to do things on his own, trying to learn as much as he could about this world. Something he felt would take too long to properly do, at least with how things were going.

”This might be harder than originally thought.” Idol muttered to himself, having examined human fashion enough to mimic it to a sense. Normally he would have been dressed in golden armor, but that was switched out for blue jeans, a simple t-shirt and a camo jacket over that. With the changes, he actually managed to look less godlike than before, but then again appearances weren't everything. For now, all he needed to do was find one of the worlds gods somewhere, even if that took a little while. Perhaps they could have offered him safe passage back to his own world, if he offered something to them in return, as it often was the case. The day was sunny, a cool breeze blowing across his cheek as he idly stood on a street corner. People walked by without even a second glance, too consumed within their own lives to notice anything else.

Perhaps they simply did not have the senses like those where he came from, as he was used to people sensing his enormous presence. Now it was as if he were.....nothing impressive actually, but then again that was how he felt, his strength drained away. ”I may have to rethink my approach.” Moving out of his stationary position, Idol would walk down the sidewalk stroking his chin softly, taking a sharp turn aiming to cross the street, though even he didn't know why. Sadly, he didn't have the foresight to avoid the vehicle that slammed into him, sending the male hurtling through the air and rolling along the ground. They weren't moving too fast, but that didn't stop the collision from being slightly annoying. ”Well now.....that hurts.” He grumbled, pushing himself to his feet and assessing the damage. He likely would have not even gotten a bruise from the hit, but that didn't keep people from gawking.

Whispers of metahuman would float around, though he had no idea what they were talking about. He wasn't even related to humans, so from what he knew the moniker had no bearings on him. ”Keep in mind....those strange vehicles hurt when they hit you.” Idol muttered before continuing to cross the street.

A tale of two gods [Yamm] Empty Re: A tale of two gods [Yamm]

So someone got hit and was sent flying. Unfortnately the same street had the exact same type of accident not more that three days ago. Of course that happened to Gadreel, this time it happened to Yamm. Both victims were somewhat uneducated to the world around them...both of them got hit and were sent flying... both of them on the exact same street. The only difference is that Q7P13 had Gadreel (Cale) who cared. Idol had Yamm...who didn't even pay it a second thought. Mostly because Yamm was on building top, arms behind his head, laying down and sunbathing. It's not like he had to worry about missing school or anything anymore. The brief nip of bitterness washed through his system as the chaos in the area increased. It was odd how chaos both increased his energy yet relaxed him all the same.

Yamm could not deny the strange energy that entered the area, but he honestly couldn't be bothered to get up and investigate. If it got too bad one of his worshipers would beseech his intervention. That never quite happened, but he DID catch the use of his name in conversation. Though he didn't realize what was going on at the moment he was brought up. Idol had probably made it across the street when a man in a business coat ran up next to Idol and put a hand on his shoulder. "Excuse me! Young man, are you hurt? That is...quite the feet. Yamm was watching over you with favor no doubt." He statd astonished. That's where Yamm heard his name. The only thing he could think was...

Wait now who am I watching over? Who knows. People say that all the time. You'll get used to it. Shouldn't we tell them that we aren't really watching? Well we ARE, but we can only watch them with their permission. Sort of like how the christian people said you need to let God into your life. I need permission to stalk you, basically... So...we didn't tell anyone that. What if they're in trouble!? We need to tell them this! That requires us to get up... Matt and Yamm's little exchange was enlightening in a sense. So many litle powers he had access to. Still had much to learn, that much was certain.

Eh...bad things happen. Besides, how much trouble could they possibly get in? ...We finally get each other... I still hate that slut. SSSHHH!!!! it's okay...it's okay....I do too. With that little ordeal out of the way, Matt smirked and shook his head. He was pleased at the moment, he was still a miserable and bitter person, but all the same he was not alone in a sense. Meanwhile the human below was seeming amazed at this "metahuman" who seemed to exusde a paranormal aura of sorts. it was faint, but after dedicating his life to Yamm's cult...he was certainly able to feel some things of the paranormal nature.

A tale of two gods [Yamm] Empty Re: A tale of two gods [Yamm]

Well, that was an enlightening experience, the whole being hit by a car thing. Not that they could do much, but Idol did prefer to avoid unnecessary pain when at all possible, because it was very annoying. However, one of the humans approached him and placed an arm on his shoulder, likely to ask if he were alright. Yet their next word suggested that someone was looking over him, the name one that he could not quite place. ”I'm sorry, I don't know this spud that you speak of.” Perhaps that would have been something that would be taken offense to, but that was simply ignorance taking place. ”But yes, I am unharmed. It will take more than one of your.....cars to hurt a god.” He had heard them being called that by someone, but that could have been them referring to someone else entirely. Honestly, he still had so many things to learn and he wasn't sure he could learn them all.

”Who is this Yamm you speak of?” His mind snapped back to the conversation at hand, or rather  the name mentioned. Perhaps he was on the track to finally meeting one of this worlds gods, one that had not abandoned it as the others did. Either way, he looked at the man in the coat rather intensely until he got some manner of answer, though he would have only bothered him with more questions.

A tale of two gods [Yamm] Empty Re: A tale of two gods [Yamm]

The man seemed concerned when he heard the young man refer to himself as a God. Then again, maybe that was the trend with kids these days. Such disrespect, but in the end all things are beyond his control. He would not judge, as it was not his right. Regardless he cocked an eyebrow. Oddly enough, Matt cocked an eyebrow as well when he heard his disciples thoughts about the self-proclaimed God. How odd. Being a God was not an easy thing...says the god that was sunbathing on a roof in the middle of beautiful L.A. That aside, the man answered the child's questions, unknown that his "God" was irritated by being called a potato.

"Who is Yamm? He is...unique. I'm not sure what it means in your slang, however he is what one might call...a deity." The man explained before sighing and waing it off. "Call me a heratic, call me whatever you want. I am sound with my faith. I will not impose upon you, and I ask you not try to do so to me. That aside, if you're alright then I will not bother you any longer." The man said with a smile and extended his hand, hoping to shake Idol's hand before he left. Though the man felt something churning inside him, it wasn't quite a stomach ache but it was a rather...euphoric feeling.

Woah woah woah. Hold the phone here. Erm...I don't think you should start it off that way. When you're penetrating ones mind it's appropriate to first warn them. "Do not be afraid" is a good start. Ew, stop making it sound dirty. I'm just talking to their mind. That does sound kind of dirty huh? An suddenly his voice coerced itself through their inner walls. He whispered "Do not be afraid" as his penetra-You don't have an off button, do you? Seriously. Stop. Matt was stirred from his rest, angry at the dragon within him. Regardless of the events, now all he could think about was that his general, common place mind-talking was now considered penetration. He shuddered, knowing he would never be able to consider himself innocent again. He stopped, opened his eyes and sighed as he contemplated it... what exactly was he doing again? Oh yeah...the self-proclaimed God. What should he do about them? Probably just watch them...stalk them a little. Stalking... now I feel like Artemis. Matt just rolled his eyes.

A tale of two gods [Yamm] Empty Re: A tale of two gods [Yamm]

Post by Samael Christensen April 4th 2015, 1:52 am

This Yamm was his god, that much Idol could surmise from the males reaction to his calling himself a god. It didn't show in their face but perhaps it was just in the words used, as if they were expecting him to condemn him in some fashion. Accepting the hand, Idol shook it and let the man walk away, now wondering where he might find this Yamm the man was speaking of. Why they were named after a spud he could not comprehend, but perhaps it was the other way around, as was always possible. Blinking a couple of times, hr remembered something, a small bit of information he learned that made finding fellow deities much easier. They all had a certain energy signature, if he opened himself a little, perhaps he could sense them and follow that.

There was an easier way of course, so he would go with that one. ”Wait.” Idol managed, hoping to stop the man before he made anymore distance, walking up to catch him. ”This god of yours, you know where they are? Can you take me to them?” He paused and waited for some kind of response. ”I've asked others, but they haven't supplied a proper answer, neither have they shown me to their gods. I'm beginning to think that the gods might have deserted this world of yours.” That seemed to get some kind of response, and he was actually lrad somewhere, which made him almost...euphoric in a sense.

Perhaps he would actually get to meet one of this worlds gods, one that hadn't disappeared into a mythical afterlife. Where he had been taken was an island off the shore, though that only lead him somewhere else entirely. It seemed like they were on the edge of a town, with a sun shining down upon them and with him being lead in.

”This....is a start.”

A tale of two gods [Yamm] Empty Re: A tale of two gods [Yamm]

Post by Humanity April 4th 2015, 3:58 am

The man would in fact take Idol to the black temple. However they ran into the problem that the door only appeared at a certain time. The man had to then explain that they had to wait until a certain time for the doors to appear. It would be a long wait, but it was a trial of patience and a test for protection. All this "God" could say was that this was a good start. So he would be forced to wait. Sadly Yamm's curiosity would be shorter lived than Idol's patience. Yamm reached out and in the confounds of the man's mind he looked to Idol and cleared his throat, seeming a little shaken, though happiness beaming from him. He was shaken and happy at the same time? Elated even.

"Young man...you won't need to wait. He wishes to meet you in person. Not in the temple because it would take too long. Tell me though, what shall I tell his holiness what your name is?" The man asked. It wouldn't be long before Idol would suddenly find himself displaced. A spinning feeling was common and as soon as their eyes closed to blink then they were there. Of course a meeting of "God's" couldn't be normal could it? One looked like a human and got hit by cars...the other one didn't wear a shirt so he could tan and got hit by trucks.

"So far be it for me... because I know MY name is freaky and odd...but "Shane" doesn't seem to be a typical God's name..." He said from behind his sunglasses, legs crossed as he lay on his back soaking in the sun. "So is it too much to ask that you came here to soak up some sun with me? Probably official business or whatever." He sighed before lifting his head and the sunglasses sliding down his nose so he could look at Idol.

A tale of two gods [Yamm] Empty Re: A tale of two gods [Yamm]

Post by Samael Christensen April 4th 2015, 5:29 pm

Waiting, something that idol was more than willing to do. He had all of eternity after all, so no need to be impatient about things, so he would do a lot of waiting until the door would appear for them. Well, he was expecting to wait until the human said that he would not. This unknown god wished to meet him personally, something that Idol could have not been happier to know about. ”They can refer to me as Shane.” It was a simple human name, something that would likely fit better than his true name as that was....well not something that translated into this language, or anyone. Following that was a spinning feeling as he was transported elsewhere. The feeling as if he were going to hurl passed through him as he blinked and as his eyelids opened, he was somewhere else.

A voice had caught his attention, idol turning to see an unknown figure sitting there without a shirt of all things. ”It's much easier to use a name native to here, rather than trying to translate my own.” He stated simply, crossing his legs and sitting down. ”And I wouldn't say i'm like...most gods, i'm still rather young.” Which was true, as by his races standards he was barely past being a toddler. Not that this god was likely to care, as they probably had more interesting things to do. ”But what i'm here for is.....help actually. I was forcibly drawn here to your world, and it seems my attempts to contact this worlds gods before you has gone unsuccessful. ” he paused, stroking his chin.

”The humans so far haven't been much help, so far i've only been called blasphemous. ” Regardless here he was, talking with a shirtless god. ”But....soaking up the sun won't do me any good. I won't get any darker than I am now.”

Post by Humanity April 5th 2015, 2:31 am

"Well I'm glad you stumbled onto my-wait-you can't get tan?" He asked, looking carefully at the "deity". No kidding this guy wasn't from around here. His manner of speech, his tone it was all so... stale and subjective. The boy radiated about as much chaos as a boy scout. Well a really orderly and boring boy scout. This dude needed to liven up. "I refuse to believe that. Take- op. Wait a second." Matt said before reaching into his pocket and pulling out his cell-phone. He couldn't make calls or text with it anymore, but damn it was still nice to have around for some of the apps and games he had on it. After punching in a few buttons on his phone he let out a little hum of curiosity before pushing the phone back in his pocket.

"Alright. Well i'm just about as young as you are so we're just going to hope I have enough experience to help you." Matt said before sighing and looking over this God. Okay they had the dress down to detail, which was refreshing. "Alright... you came for help. Well I'm going to help you. But we need to make a few rules first, okay?" Matt asked as he grunted, standing himself up and strethcing as he rotated his entire body from above the waist. When he was finished he let out a loud yawn and shook himself off like a little puppy and then stepping towards Idol. He was probably making one Hell of an impression being so...lax and carefree. Not typically what one might expect of a God.

"Okay. Common respect for one and other. I'm not gonna ask you to do anything that will put you in danger or will dishonor you. I'm probably asking you to do it so you can learn something. So that in mind, if what I ask you to do doesn't bring shame to you...please do it. It's going to make the learning process a lot faster." Yamm said with a smile. If nothing else he was being friendly, and reasonable as well...or so he thought anyway. "I'll teach you anything you want to learn about. I'll do everything I can to help you get home. But when push comes to shove I want you to remember that I'm helping you. You have my word, and I can't betray that. So when I ask you to do something, have the respect to trust me, as I trust and honor you. A'ight?" He asked again, placing a hand on Idol's shoulder with a smirk. If everything was well here, he could start by addressing his issues.

"So...hit me. What's first on the agenda?" He asked as he crossed his arms and listen.

”No, I can't.” Idol noted with a shake of his head, and he had tried to get tanned before. No matter how long he had laid under the sun, he hadn't gotten as so much as a sunburn, let alone a tan. It was a strange occurrence but then again he had chalked that up to his being a deity. His fellow deity seemed to be in the middle of saying something, before removing something from their pocket, looking it over and then putting it back in. Idol raised a brow curiously, but didn't really ask any sort of question about it. One thing he could tell about the strange male, was that they were rather laid back as far as deities came. Not that he hadn't met one or two of them within his short life, but then again it was not the common fact among them.

Apparently there would be some rules involved in this learning experience, which he could deal with. The first one seemed to be something that would streamline the learning process, but also it felt more like something a deity would tell a worshiper, as they tended to rely upon the one they worshiped. Nodding a couple of times, he made sure to remember everything that he had said. He looked to the hand on his shoulder for a moment, then turned back to the dragon. ”Alright.” He responded with a nod, locking eyes with the male for a moment.

”Hit you?” He would ask before following by the second part of the question, which made more sense to him. ”I....need a following.”Idol paused, wondering whether he should tell about his deficiency or not. ”Not want, I need one actually. Otherwise, I may end up fading.”

"A following...Oh boy. You do need help." Matt said as he rubbed his eyes. This son of a bitch was going to make him move, wasn't he? Oh Goddamnit. You are a God Oh me damnit Awe. DO we have to? Look at him. He's so adorable...and freaking stupid. I mean seriously, look at him. We may be the dragon but he's definitely the one that looks like the pet. Do you always have to look down on everything? When he gets street smart I'll stop treating him like a lost little puppy. Wow...no wonder people like me more.

Matt sighed and snapped his finger, and in an instant he was transported with Idol and landing in the "entrance" way of the Black Temple. The door was still not there though. The second they saw Yamm the guards got to their knees, and the man whom even brought Idol was on his knees, doubled over. "Rise, c'mon guys. I've said it before. If you need to bow just use your head to bow, that's not good for your backs." Matt said. The cultists/religious followers apologized and thanked him as he walked to the water. He closed his eyes, swallowed and then sighed as he mustered his inner force.

"Tehzin Nariama, Ellida" Matt said, his voice a whisper n the surface. The waters tremored and vibrated as the whisper traversed the water, spreading out as a ripple over the water. The single smal ripple-wave traversed the water as far as the eye could see. The ripple could no longer be seen, but mere seconds after leaving sight there was a huge geyser explosion upwards into the air. The massive structure flew into the air, a horrifying yet somehow magestic dragon fly through the air, spiraling through the sky before belly flopping to the water and propping itself on the beach.

"I hear your summons, Dragon King, and as always; My life is yours. How may I serve the father of leviathans?" The large dragon asked. "We need to go to the Black Temple. I was hoping for my friend to experience an escort." He asked.

Of course they would travel into the grotto, Ellida keeping air for Idol, should he need it. The wings of the dragon covered over them, Eliida's body surged with a non-harmful quintessence energy which illuminated her wings and made them opaque. At the end of the journey Yamm and Idol would be in the little underground town where his closest and most loyal followers lived. The buildngs were crafted by the most elegant craftsmen, and the stone was of a magical property. Deep blue tapestries with dragon's on them were all about. Little baby dragons were scurrying about and there were grave stones in the distance.

"So...welcome...I guess." Yamm said, waiting to be bombarded by questions.

”Yes, I do.” Idol nodded, agreeing with the dragon god completely, flexing his fingers and looking down to the hand. A dull sensation swept through the limb, or rather a lack of sensation as if the hand were not there at all. It had been nearly a month since he was in the this world, and now his body could feel the effect of it. Strangely enough, this world was different than simple plane walking, as his power tended to follow him in that. With a snap of a finger they were somewhere else, his hands sliding into these things that humans called pockets, which had a use when it came to storing things. Not that he ever had a reason to store anything in them, but he had seen them withdraw things from them.

Where they were now was that entrance way to the very temple of the god that he had finally met. Humans were there, falling to their knees before their god, only to be bid rise to their feet once again. Following that was the dragon speaking in an unknown language as something emerged from the water, creating a large geyser. What had appeared was a large, majestic, and yet terrifying dragon. Idol looked upon the dragon with great wonder, as it spoke to the god and referred to him as father of the leviathan. If that were true, then this god was even more important than Idol had originally thought. They would travel along the back of the dragon, shielded from the water by it's wings that glowed from a strange energy, one that he had not seen before.

This was an interesting place with even young dragons scurrying about, much to his surprise and even his pleasure. ”Your temple is impressive.” He stated simply, stroking his chin softly.  ”You are a god, yes? What is your domain of influence, what do you hold power over?” A rather direct question, but he was sure it would be something simple enough to start with.

A tale of two gods [Yamm] Empty Re: A tale of two gods [Yamm]

"Thanks?" Matt said with a little sigh. He would lead Shane through the small little town of dedicated cultists. Then to the sub chamber portal before teleporting them to the aquatic room. His inner sanctum literally tens of meters away. Despite the water, they could breathe just fine, yet no gills or anything of the like appeared to help them. Yamm walked, defying phsyics as he made his way through the temple doorway and into the fresh air. Trees, grasses, flowers and piles of gold and gems piled EVERYWHERE as the water proved to be non-existant inside the temple. This place was almost, ALMOST a pocket dimension of sorts, having a balcony and a look over a forest as if they were in a castle, high in the sky.

"Sorry, I can't talk in the water. As far as my domain... Well... there's a lot. A Looooot! There's definitely a lot that's in my domain. What about you? I'm pretty sure there's already a god of good looks, so I'm pretty sure that's not you or me. Golden apple?" Yamm asked before plucking a literal shiny golden apple that he tossed at him.

Idol was lead through the small town that seemed to be dedicated for the worshipers of this enigmatic deity. After being lead through it, they ended up in a sub chamber that teleported them to an aquatic room. It had taken him a moment to notice they were in water considering that he had no problem breathing, though he could attribute it to some kind of magic upon the gods part. Considering they were something that people called a god, then this seemed only right. Through the temple doorway they went, fresh air now around them. Trees, grass, flowers and massive piles of gold dominated the room, giving it an almost surreal quality.

One thing he knew was that it looked just like a dragons lair. He had seen enough of them, and his uncle was a dragon, so he had a few encounters with dragons and their lairs. As far as what they presided over, an answer was not really produced, making him wonder why that was. True enough he could surmise he had some affiliation with water or perhaps with the seas, considering the water as well as location. A god of the sky would not have their hide away under the sea after all. One handed snapped up to catch the golden apple, considering it for a moment before simply holding it in his hand.

Holding his free hand up palm first, the very air seemed to distort. Matter coalesced, gathered into a single point and within an instant a fresh red apple formed within his hand. ”I'm still really young as far as a god goes, so I haven't really developed my own powers as of yet. What I can do...well creation is one of them.” Taking a bite out of the freshly created apple, he looked to the male. ”Though I can create more than apples.”

Well okay then. So he just basically ditched the gift of a delicious golden apple for an apple he created with fire. Yeah, because eating fire-made things is so much healthier than eathing gold based things. This guy was rubbing him the wrong way, and not in the right way. Yes there is a right way to rub someone the wrong way. No I don't have time to explain. "Oh hey, look. Another "young" God." he said as he folded his arms and watched the other guy take a bite from is own made apple. SO much for the whole trust thing. Right, maybe time for a different approach.

"Okay, first... it's incredibly unbecoming of a deity to speak with their mouth full of food. Second off while I admit that the whole "creation" thing is rather amazing...showing off is the quickest way for things to go WRONG for you. When you're a little more familiar with people and how they work showing off has a lot of good uses. But for now, try to stick to the straight and narrow, alright? Or I mean...you could not an then piss off everyone you encounter and end up with no one wanting to follow you because you were too much of a show boat." Yamm tried to condense the explanation as best as he could, though it stll proved a little wordy. With that he would simply dismiss himself to the back of the temple, just behind the "living room" where he entertained people. Moving over to the desk that sat at the foot of a bed he withdrew a small black book and a velvety purple pouch that was ordained with red lace.

"Here, catch. This is something from a friend of mine. He once had a similar...problem. Not having a following. When you feel yourself start to fade swallow one of those and they'll anchor you as if you had a following. It's temporary but it's a good band-aid to the problem." He concluded after tossing the pouch to Shane. The bad was filled with smoothe pebble like rocks that seemed to glow dimly. "As far as getting you an actual following...I don't know yet. What have you thought of? What have you tried?"

He had created the apple for more than one purpose, one of those was to eat it and the other was because he couldn’t eat gold. Unlike a certain members of his family, he couldn’t ingest gold and that just led to pain for him not long after. It wasn’t speculation either, he had actually eaten gold once and that was the least fun time he had ever had within his short life. Sadly, attempting to emulate the ability to eat gold was not something to do, and he didn’t quite want to go through the same process by eating a golden apple, which looked about as golden as something golden could be. As for the way that Yamm put emphasis on young, it made it sound as if he didn’t believe that or something else. Regardless, this god made no sense to him.

As for the talking while eating, he had just been made aware of that, blinking and swallowing the food he had been chewing on. As for the next part, well it seemed his planned strategy was not something that would work. This made Idol frown lightly, slightly displeased by the fact what he had done for most of his life just wouldn’t cut it. If he couldn’t show off then that left him with trying to figure out how the people of this world worked. ”Showing off not a good thing.” he intoned, summing up the explanation in a few words with a nod, stroking his chin while trying to think up a different approach. With that they moved to a room behind the temple, something that looked pretty cozy to him, compared to the places he had been sleeping before.

A small bag of something was thrown to him, Idol catching it much like the apple and opening it. Apparently this was something that would prevent his fading, or it should as far as he knew. As far as what it was, well it looked like small shining pebbles, though he couldn’t question magic really. This saved him some time, but how much time he didn’t know. ”I’ve…tried what had worked for me before. Showing my power, helping the people but they only called me a….metahuman and reviled me. I have no clue was a metahuman even is.” He stated with a frown.
