Sexual Content 2: Sexual content is permitted. References and writing about genitalia and sex acts are permitted, but explicit detail is not. Fade to black, or use the dotdotdot rule. (Let's keep it PG-13.)
Violence 2: Graphic violence is permitted. Explicit description or in-game narration violence is allowed.

Character Themes Empty Character Themes

Post by Jack Maroon November 11th 2012, 3:33 am

Had been thinking about exactly what literary themes I employ in my character concepts and their development, so I made a little list. I'd be interested to see what others think and what themes they employ for their characters.

Character Themes

Jack Maroon

Major Themes:
-Moral and existential Nihilism
-Path-Dependence; The reversibility(or lack thereof) of the course one’s life has been set upon.
-Absurd Humor/Ridiculous Awesome

Minor Themes:
-Hedgehog Dilemma; fear of emotional proximity of others, commitment, being hurt emotionally
-Satire; Jack started out as a parody of typical swordsman characters based on shounen anime, albeit with some darker overtones at times.

Blacksmith/Eric Snowden

Major Themes:
-Fragility of the ego/Low Narcissism
-Inferiority Complex
-Hedgehog Dilemma
Minor Themes:
-Annoying Jerk
-Weaponsmithing
-Moral and existential Nihilism

Terrance Antagon III (least fleshed out since I haven’t used him in rp yet)

Major Themes:
-Hedgehog Dilemma (extreme)
-Solipsism
