Jane Harron, The Dragnet Super7b-1

Personality: Jane is drawn towards charismatic people, those that have a sense of humor. Though she herself rarely will crack a joke, she enjoys the company of others, especially in a group setting. Her strongest weakness is dealing with the brutality of others. Because of her past, she has limited self-control. Though she is against killing another human, she has come close to killing her opponents in such cases. She was raised in isolation for most of her life. She is extremely uncomfortable in large crowds of people. She will frequently move to a secluded location where she feels she can breathe easier.

History: Very Long, Click for Spoiler.

Spoiler:
A mutation gene, a strong one, caused her to be very different from the rest of her family. When she was born, she appeared as normal as any human child. But by the age of 2, dark feathered wings began to sprout and grow on her back. Out of fear of her being ridiculed by other children, her parents decided to keep her home when she became of age, and home school her. Her father was a doctor, so she had little need to go out of the house. Her parents weren't sure what to do about their situation, unaware of what kind of reaction they would get out of people. So they decided to move to a more rural location, very rural.

Her family moved to Brazil, in a very remote area. It actually worked out well for the community, for they had a lack of doctors, and her father opened up his own clinic there. Jane had all the freedom and fresh air she needed in the secrecy of forests and the wild. Which all worked out well, until she reached about the age of 10 years old. Then her world was spun upside down. A group of men burst into her father's clinic, which had also been their residence. She could hear the men yelling through the house in Portuguese, the common tongue of the residents nearby. They had been dragging a man with a gunshot wound to the stomach, perhaps a comrade of theirs.

She didn't understand much Portuguese, but her father went in immediately to help and defend his family. Not able to control her curiosity, she opened the door that led to the room the men were in just a crack, to watch the commotion. They were wearing camouflage, a military group. She noticed they had many firearms among them. But she was unsure who they represented. Their ally wasn't doing so well, and her father was doing his best to try and save the man's life but his wound may have been too severe. Whatever the issue was, the man did not survive the surgery. Outraged, the leader of the militant group waved around his pistol and shouted in Portuguese at her father. She became more afraid by the second that something bad would happen, and it did. Unable to calm the man down, the man aimed the pistol at her father and fired. The gunshot ringing in her ears caused her to scream, trembling with fear of what happened to her father.

More shouting continued, as his he waved on to his men. Some began knocking the house over for valuables, while others ran through the house. One of the men came her way, and captured her easily. He marveled at her wings, not sure if they were fake or not. Bringing her before his captain, they had also captured her mother. Though orders came from his mouth, she couldn't understand. The men rushed her and her mother outside, where they were bound with rope on their hands and ankles, placed in the back of an old beat up pick-up truck. Men came out of the house with bags of valuables, throwing it alongside them in the back of the truck. Smoke started to arise from their house, they were torching it from the inside. Her lower lip began to quiver as she seen her life destroyed before her eyes. Her mother leaned over her shoulder and whispered to her.

"Close your eyes, Jane..."

She did so, but inside she feared what would become of them. From this point forward, this was the last she had seen of her mother. They were separated, and sold as slaves. Her purchaser paid highly for her because of her wings. He was a collector of fine art, and keeping her chained up as a display only made him happier.

He wasn't a cruel abusive master, at least he spoke English, but she was a captive nonetheless. His friends he would bring over would marvel at her, but never report to the authorities the inhumane actions. Her master wanted to trust her, to keep her moving about the house with freedom. But knew she was capable of flying away on him. Over the years, she had grown into a young woman, and he had begun to trust her more, giving her more freedoms. He let her prepare meals for him and sit in his company while he relaxed in his luxuriant home. But in her mind, she desperately wanted to escape.

She had been at least 18, not surely able to count the months or days to her birthday. She could only count the seasons, when she discovered her mutations had only just begun. While preparing a meal, she carelessly cut her hand open. She let out a small yelp of pain, and clenched her palm with her other hand. Her master came to see if she was okay, worried that she might be damaged. Being so concentrated on the pain, triggering the ability to heal herself through her mutation was out of instinct. Flesh mended and her bleeding stopped. But her Master had dollar signs in his eyes, not knowing the full extent of her healing abilities. But the tricky part was hiding the fact that he had her contained here as a slave.

Years went by, as rumors in the surrounding villages began to arise about a Witch doctor who would heal some diseases even modern medicine could not. Cancer and tumor patients came out of the house completely cured from their condition. Yet, not one of them would speak about who had healed them. Jane, now 21, had been captive for over a decade. Finally, one of those she had healed had spoken out to the authorities. Who raided the home and freed her from her bonds.

As soon as they got outside, she stretched out her wings and took off into flight. Climbing as high as she could, she inhaled the fresh outside air that she had desired so much. The sun warmed her skin. She hadn't felt like this since she was a child. She had decided to return to the United States, where she was born. But she wouldn't care what others thought of her, as her parents did. While there, she began to learn of other developments of her mutation gene. Slowly learning another new ability, though she couldn't find a use for it. She could focus her energy to sprout chains from the ground and walls, and wrap them around other objects.

She knew she had these abilities for a reason. She just didn't know what. Her childhood taught her enough, it was that there is evil and corruption in the world. She could have had a normal life if that weren't the case. That would be a start. To help others, like she needed to be helped.

Powers:

Flight: The ability to fly, only through the power of her wings. If entangled, she loses her flight.

Energy Projection Ability 1: Healing Ability. By placing her hands on another player, she can heal wounds and mend broken bones. However, she needs to concentrate and cannot do so while fighting.

4 Points Invested.

Energy Projection Ability 2: The ability to summon and manipulate chains to entangle and wrap around objects and enemies. The chains can be shot out of the ground and through walls. This ability has several uses, other than tripping up and snaring opponents. Such as criss-crossing chains to form a net, or creating a swinging rope for allies. She can only use a maximum of 10 chains simultaneously, which reduces the amount of people she can restrain. The size of chains she can summon can be varied, upon will.

6 Points Invested.

Example of ability:
Spoiler:
Jane Harron, The Dragnet Chained2

Power Grid: 20 Point Grid, Enabling Flight.
Intelligence: 2
Strength: 2
Speed: 2
Endurance: 2
Energy Projection Ability 1: 4
Energy Projection Ability 2: 6
Fighting Skill: 2

Roleplay Sample: Sul-Fury's Character.

1. Healing yourself and Healing others are different powers, so choose one or the other

2. Chain are also able to be broken by anything within 2 points, so with effort, even lvl 2 Strength characters can break through the chains

3. I personally do not approve of the character making chains from her enemies, no matter how low their intelligence.

1. Acceptable, now it's only other people. Though, there is a difference between Regeneration and Healing Power. Healing Power technically can apply to anybody, but I can see the unfairness.

2. This, I had trouble accepting. I had believed that a 2-point gap was beyond the opponents limitations. And if there was a 1-point gap, it would still be difficult to defeat. Think about this too, the power isn't an attack that causes damage. It's a snaring ability. Meant to hold people back, not harm them. Someone with 2 Strength breaking a Tier 4 EP Chain, I might as well be wrapping them in tissue paper.

In a 2-point gap, the amount of effort/strength is still increased significantly, I wouldn't expect it to be easy to just Punch a level 7 Durability player with a level 5 Strength once, and the match be over. So why can a level 2 Strength break my Ability when I invested 4 points? 90% of characters have 2 strength or more, it would make my ability useless. Beyond useless. And I invested more points into it than people with 2 strength.

If we can somehow meet half-way, even that would be acceptable. If perhaps 4 Chains are latched onto an Opponent, then they need to be equivalent to the EP invested to break all 4 simultaneously. Reinforced strength would add more difficulty.

And remember, it's not an attack, its an ability. Which should be treated differently, IMO.

3. Accepted, I just thought that if an opponent had weak mental resistance, it would be easier to control.

2. No, everything is treated the same, ability and powers are just semantics. The gap is 2 points, even with 2 Strength, they'll have difficulty, it's not like their going to break it right away. If you don't want them the ability to break out, increase the EP on those chains.

Alright, swapped the powers around. 4 EP in Healing Other Players, 6 EP In her Chain Summoning.
