The Evolutes (Story Development no Combat YET)

I used the character template to make this so you'd know what to expect from my Evolute characters but you don't have to do that. As the RP progresses, I'll be adding to the list of Evolutes. You can use a premade character if you want or make an Evolute or just make a new character though not necessarily an Evolute. No fighting just yet. More of a story dev thing. For some more info on Evolutes, read the bios of the three Evolutes on the list so far. (If you make an Evolute, I'll add them to the list)

The Evolution Rain is what many people call the greatest widespread tragedy since the Coming of Apocalypse. Meteors, all carrying a form of mutagenic radiation, fell from the sky like missiles. Many people died that day. Many more people disappeared. Though the cause of this sudden event is not known, the effects became well documented. The death count reached the upper thousands in a matter of hours after the event. Damages reached the billion dollar mark in severity the day day after and continued to rise. Natural habitats were destroyed and, thanks to this radiation, are now beyond regrowth. Injury reports were brought in by the millions.

That was a year ago. The country still has not recovered from all of the damage done. But there may yet be a silver lining. People not struck by the meteors themselves but rather exposed simply to the radiation they gave off seemed to develop...side effects. They were considered special cases. Mutated by the radiation, they became publicly labeled Evolutes. These people have demonstrated unique superhuman abilities. Some show physically more than others in these mutant properties. Evolutes have been a topic of much debate. Many people fear them, believing that they have been somehow infiltrated by a microscopic alien species. Others fear them simply for their representation of that tragic day. But many don't fear them at all. A great number of Evolutes have shown great heroism and commited to superheroic deeds several times.

"We shouldn't be here," Amber says to her sister as they approach a small house in lower Manhattan. "They're not going to listen." Rachel ignores the sulkings of her sister, walking up the stairs to the front door. "They hate us."

Rachel stops and turns with a cocked eyebrow and a look of skepticism. "Now, why would they hate us?" She asks, a hand on her hip.

"We ruined their home," Amber says, staring into her sister's eyes as she takes her first step up the stairs.

"We were being attacked by a twenty story tall monster. You had to grow to take it down and you got thrown onto the house. We didn't do anything wrong," Rachel argues. Amber looks down as she thinks over the situation, too realizing that she's lost. "With mom and dad off somewhere trying to 'cure' us, and the rest of the family right there with them, the Evos are the closest thing to family we have. Are you coming or not?" She extends her open hand to Amber who nods and takes it, stepping up as Rachel knocks on the door.
