Gaining EXP.

I could have totally overlooked this but if I'm wrong then so be it...
Can a character be used in two different topics? And if so do they get XP for both?

Because if so I believe that is wrong and I would like a discussion on the matter. I believe it to be unfair on those who wish to RP here but can't due to RL commitments and can't put in the time to post in multiple topics to gain more EXP. Also, referring to a basic law of motion - you can't be in two DIFFERENT places at once! It doesn't make sense at all and I think it would make the system (fair as it is) even more balanced without affecting player interaction. Lets face it, I know their are certain laws that are bent in order to accomodate special abilites but I don't seem how it is logical to post in different threads using the same character.

I can't be at work, down the pub and training at the same time. So if it doesn't already apply, I think that should apply here also.
Additionally, if you abandon a topic to move into a topic where you want to be. You should lose the EXP you would have gained from the abandoned topic. It shouldn't count.

I've just seen nothing in the rules that indicates otherwise. e.g. your character can only be in one topic at a time (one location).

This makes complete sense, and to add onto it I suggest we make a sub-forum for role-play threads that do not affect that actual plot. As in, you can die or do anything and it won't affect you in the actual story... Like practice fights, or something.

EDIT: Scratch that, we already have OOC role-play.

But it still makes more sense. Some people can be in fifty threads at once and can upgrade their stats more so than others. All this without even so much as a chance of losing their character.

i would like to point out something on this. When people are in mutliple quest with the same characters. They dont take place at the same time. Also most of the rules at this point are moot.

Yeah I still think that's a bit too much. I understand that people will say "why not? why can't I? Just because you can't" etc. I just think it add's to unrealism in an already well thought-out fictious setting. It's taking too many liberties so to speak and gives an unfair advantage to other players who can rack up EXP stupidly quick because they're involved in multiple threads. I think it should be one place, one time, one thread.

I think that will make the timeline more accurate too and people won't get as confused as to what's going on. It would be easier to keep up with and peoples movements could be easily accounted for. It also makes for a hell of a lot less moderating.

ummm Freerunner if you look over the new XP template. The events and quest are supposed to be put in chronilogical order. So if you look at the exp pages of the character there shouldnt be any confusion. Also noone really has to moderate people being in multiple quest.

You can be active in two quests. That is how it has always been, and its been that way so that we don't have to enforce strict skip rules on players who take longer to post for RL reasons.

The experience template has been mentioned; follow that and you're fine. To balance out the schedules of people we implement liquid time to keep people able to post while at the same time allowing others to take their time with posting.

We're going to discuss the matter of topics and limits with the rest of the staff, so soon there will be a rule enforcing only a certain amount of role-plays. So if you are in a million and one topics I'd suggest you begin to back out of them because you won't be allowed to make a new thread until your other ones have finished.

I support that.
