The Looks

Reference:

Zee's appearance only differed by hair and eye color. In his passive state, he is shown with brown-black hair matched with hazel eyes. In his active state, he is shown with golden-yellow eyes and silver-white hair accented with bluish-grey at the tips (resembling windswept feathers). His eyes would shift to a slight gold color when he uses his powers in passive form.

Side note: The current avatar and sig are Zee's watered-down roleplay versions for a separate group; owing to the lighter nature of their world's settings, a good deal of his personality, appearance and abilities have been foregone and redrawn in a younger and more cheerful persona. I will be using his omitted features here.


 
The Legacy


Personality:

Innate nature.
Zeke is the embodiment of 'eccentric'. In his younger years, his attention and curiosity have always revolved around creating a number of things. Maybe the object could be used, maybe not. His face would readily light up with interest at the sight of a few shiny tools. As long as he could tinker, he was happy. His other guilty pleasure was the occasional small sweet treat. He also appreciates naps-- regardless of location.

His peeve is 'lack of sense'. Zeke dislikes being unable to understand how something works, and dislikes being left clueless or puzzled.


Interpersonal.
He tries. He honestly does. His moods vary from time to time, regardless of other people surrounding him. He would be absent-minded at one moment, then would shift to being an absolute tease without warning. Despite the mercurial changes, he looks out for friend and ally. Better expect an occasional coddle from Zeke when you're on his Buddy list.

The Powers and Weaknesses


Powers

**Side Note: Those marked as Human traits don't influence his power manifestations. It may help them along, but never an ultimate factor. All thoughts considered, they are not on officially on his power roster.

(Passive) Resourcefulness. **This is a Human trait.**
Zee's creativity can go as far as how much he knew. How effective his tech were depended on how much he has learnt of the principles needed to make them work. Imagination is his limit.

(Passive) Technophilia. **This is a Human trait.**
Related to his interest in invention, his curiosity for technology contributes to how fast he creates one object after another. His affinity extends to old artifacts as well. Sometimes, he would duplicate them for the heck of it.. if he wasn't busy reinventing them.

(Passive-Active) Photokinetic synthesis.
Photokinesis has a lot of handy uses, from the standard light projectiles to healing. Zee doesn't use light solidification similar to Green Lanterns, neither does he have healing powers similar to those with Holy attributes (though a 30% cell regeneration pace is present). What he uses PS for is primarily to run Highwing, his nanotech invention. Zee can also take select waves from the EM Spectrum (good and bad) and amplify its properties. A few examples of which, were using bent light waves to create illusions to conceal him for a short time, or to take away a target's sight by blocking light from entering their eyes (on a more lethal case, he could do the opposite and permanently damage the receptors by flooding it with concentrated beams). How he uses them is up to his creativity within the limits of the chosen light form.

(Active) Windsurfing
An active extension of his PS abilities. Responsible for the Speed/Agility aspect. He is able to utilize light energy to enhance his movement speed and give him the ability to hover un-aided by Highwing (2-minute duration). This also enables Zee to use short bursts of short-range teleportation as well (his current level only allows him movement through light-filled spaces at limited range). Using Highwing, he is able to fly using converted energy.

(Active) Eclipse Shuffle
The collective name for Highwing's different modes. There are a total of five. With consideration to power distribution, Zee couldn't share his defense and offense levels at full power equally. His power is distributed between the two in balancing percentages.

The Five Phases:

Weakness(es)

(Passive) Downtime.
Two things dampen Zee's performance: the lack of sleep and the lack of sugar. His Charging Time is maximized when he is at rest (the lack of bright light makes it easier to absorb traces gradually). While he can still absorb light traces during his waking hours, the rate of his absorption is slower (Highwing functions at maximum to dissipate energy as a safety feature). Because of this, he'd often drift to sleep anywhere. His habit of bringing sweets along was to help this out somehow, though it wouldn't always work.

(Passive-Active) Overcharge.
They say too much of a good thing is bad for you. This was why Zee carried a regulator with him at all times. Its function was to dissipate excess energy from his body in order to keep converted energy from going out of control. In the event that Zee experiences overcharging, he becomes a literal walking bomb to his surroundings.

(Active) Refraction and Diffusion.
Light may be expendable and very flexible depending on its wielder, but it is not without a weak factor. Its effects can be dampened and even stopped by refracting or diffusing its presence. While converted energy (kinetic) may still land a hit, the damage dealt would have been dropped by almost half. Direct light projections are severely affected.

(Active) Adverse Absorption.
Because his cells have been infused with nanomolecules, they easily absorb traces of light... and can physically absorb (ingested or injected) chemicals just as easily, which makes Zee twice sensitive to the effects of poison in his system. His cells regenerate to cope with the damage, but the accelerated speed didn't mean it was comfortable. On contrary, Zee experiences double the pain during recovery.

(Active) Disruptive Drain.
The disadvantage of Zee's powers is that its effects last as long as his power intake. Though his body continuously absorbs light traces, sometimes excess usage will cause him to revert back to Passive Mode. Two of Highwing's phases are likely to cause this: Zenith and Lucief. Both these modes consume a huge store of his energy. Zee has yet to device a counter for their effects.

(Active) Nonreflective Buffers.
There is a synthesized material that could absorb any light traces - an alloy called Tenefortium , pure metal reduced in its blackened state through laser and nano engraving. If there is anything that could stopper Zee's light projections, it will be this. The other alternative is, of course, a black hole.

Highwing's Nanocore:

About the Nanocore.
Side note: See appearance sketch above. For laziness until I finalize his illustration, this is a bit of how Highwing's core looks like. I have mentioned components through Zee's bio - these are random, shifting plates that hover around Zee and Highwing's nanocore. These are materials that assemble and shift into any mechanism under Zee's direction. The Nanocore distributes his dissipated energy to them.

Highwing's Throwing Blades:

Dual Blades.
Side note: This was the closest image I could search for his blades. The pair I had in mind was more streamlined and suitable for throwing. Again, this is a placeholder until I can finish the illustrations.

Power Suit.
His suit allows him to move freely. It is coated with a protective mesh of nanothreads to shield him from a backlash of overexposure to his own power as he uses it.
