Etiquette Empty Etiquette

Post by Blacklight May 15th 2014, 5:36 am

Hey guys,

New here but i consider myself fairly competent at writing so this is more about the navigation and interaction.

Basically i'm not sure about joining quests and role plays so i just wanted to check if theres rules or something!

Firstly, with role plays and quests etc, do you just jump in with your character and your posts, or do you have to request by PM/post first?

Second, as far as interaction goes, what are the limits to how you include another players character?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you just want to jump straight in with a stranger, then you start a thread and then mark it with (OPEN) such as "Walking in the park (OPEN)". In order to invite a specific person you should speak to them either in the chatbox or through private messages and then start the thread with the title "Walking in the park (Rudolf)" or "Walking in the park (CLOSED)" so that people know that they're not invited.

If you see a thread marked with open, feel free to join in however if it's closedor invite only you can't, but if you're really interested in it be sure to ask the thread starter, sometimes they let you join. (:

In order to join a QUEST you have to apply for it on it's sign-up post and once it is approved and the creator posts the quest as a roleplaying thread you can post. Do not join quests that are full however. And if you want to start your own quest then this should have everything to help you get started. - https://www.superhero-rpg.com/t1925-quest-template-and-rules

When including another character the limit is quite simple - don't roleplay for them. For example, if you throw a grenade don't say that their character runs away. You can hint that it would be a smart thing to do though such as "The grenade rolled along the ground, it's pin missing - only a madman wouldn't try to escape." or something similar. Also don't auto-connect your attacks without permission (read the rules that I'll link at the bottom about that)

Sorry if it didn't make any sense, but I hope it atleast cleared some things up for you. If you haven't already then you should read the rules.

Welcome to SHRPG, I hope you stick around. Smile
