Personality:
Mariusz is a good man faced with bad things. He’s a tad disgruntled at all times, and might just be an alcoholic, but he never lets this interfere with his duty. He’s a hero, he protects people, and if he has personal issues, those come second. Duty, honor, integrity, and faith, all things Mariusz holds dear.

You can count on him being grumpy at all times, especially if you’re an agent on deployment with him, but if you happen to be a sickly child held captive by terrorists (or in some other unfortunate situation) you’ll melt Mariusz’s heart. He’s very kind to the people he rescues, and has been trained to deal with trauma in victims.

He has a zero tolerance policy with crime and villains, though he never goes straight to murder as a punishment. No, Mariusz was taught better than that. First words, then fists, then if all else fails, torrents of flame melting some bad guy’s face off.
History:
Born in Wawel in the late seventies, Mariusz experienced the harsh life of a Pole inhabiting communist occupied Poland. It was a tough life, and nobody enjoyed it all too much. Mariusz however, was always different. This probably has something to do with his metahuman gene. His family had always been strange, in the medieval ages they were often mistaken for demons and dragons, but with some well-practiced interbreeding, they had normalized their gene pool. Though Mariusz was still stronger, faster, more durable, and quite capable of conjuring up flames.

As a teenager, he lived a dutiful life. Went to school, participated at his local church, and celebrated with everyone else when communism fell and Poland was free once more. He decided that being a citizen was too little for him, and so he enlisted with the Polish military. Shortly after discovering his capabilities, they gave him the codename ‘Wawel’ (after the famous dragon that inhabited Wawel city), and set him to work with an anti-terror unit.

Being deployed around the entire world, from China to the Middle East, Mariusz has seen a lot of terrible things. Men acting like animals, children being murdered, and his friends getting gunned down on the field of battle. But none of this stops him from serving his country.
