Personality: Piper is the sort to live a life of total freedom. She doesn't really care much for labels or rules or establishments. She just goes wherever the solar winds take her.  She adores cute animals, likes getting up to mischief, revels in adrenalin pumping experiences, loves machines and sound of engines whirring, and she enjoys goofing around and occasionally slacking off.  She has a deep appreciation for the great void (space) and is always thirsty for knowledge.  Beyond that, Piper rather dislikes people being overly serious.  She also has a strong dislike of politics, bugs, and clowns... because clowns.  Piper is many things, but one thing everyone can agree on is that she is one COCKY little lady.  She's also a bi and doesn't particularly care about species (where aliens are concerned) provided they're at least humanoid in shape.  That being said, Piper is an eccentric and, at times, a shameless flirt. Though this is usually playful and she generally means nothing by it. Piper can be rather aloof. She hasn't much in the way of inhibitions and tends to ramble on without stopping or get distracted easily. Piper has a very fast, almost nonsensical speech pattern at times, which can be even more flummoxing when taken into account her frequent use of a large amount of dated British Slang and vernacular, mixed with modern lingo.

History: As one of a large number of people discreetly abducted by aliens (at the age of 10, no less), Piper was subjected to a handful of tests.  Her (remarkably high functioning) eidetic memory allowed her to absorb vast amounts of information.  The aliens used her as a subject of their knowledge sharing tests and she was imbued, by the age of 12, with advanced knowledge on their race and a great deal of the galaxy's secrets.  Meanwhile, other people were experimented on in other ways.  Piper joined a rebellion at 18 that eventually overthrew their captors and get the abductees back to Earth.  She and her compatriots, however, returned to the stars to seek adventure where they eventually parted ways.  Piper's continued her own personal adventures alone ever since, solving problems for credits and going wherever the... solar wing takes her.  She acts almost entirely on whim and gets into some crazy things.  She's been everything in the past 9 years from a war hero to a space pirate to a cosmic treasure hunter.  Predicting Piper is virtually impossible because of all the ancient knowledge swirling around in her head.  She's taken on the job of "Intergalactic Problem Solver," in which she will take on virtually any task, provided she is paid accordingly.  This is rather morally flexible, although Piper draws the line at the murder of innocents and has, in fact, gone out of her way to help people out of the goodness of her heart on multiple occasions, though this is usually reserved for children and families.


 
The Powers and Weaknesses

Powers

Power 1: Eidetic Memory/Enhanced Intellect – Piper can retain memory of virtually any information or practice she has seen.  She can instantly recall anything she needs to and can imitate any action within her physical capabilities. this also applies to muscle memory. She's a skilled athlete and combatant, an expert hacker, a mechanical genius, and much more.  She has been imbued with alien knowledge on a wide array of subjects, including numerous alien methods of FTL Travel, a handful of alien languages and dialects, the inner workings of numerous alien weapons and ships, and the biology of every alien species catalogued in the archives of the aliens that granted her this knowledge.  She even knows the history of a number of alien races up to the point of her kidnapping. This also enhanced the speed at which Piper's mind processes information. This results in Piper's "Lightspeed Intuition," as she calls it.  Essentially it means she can see the world around her as if it's moving in slow motion.


Weakness(es)

Weakness 1: Drugs & Alcohol - Piper can't induce drugs that affect mental state while she is fully lucid (in general, meaning "When she's wide awake").  Because of the speed at which her mind processes information, anything that would impair mental functionality has a splitting effect that causes Piper's mind to stretch between two levels of awareness. This results in agonizing, debilitating headaches.

RP Mechanics

RP Mechanic(s): FTL Travel - Piper gets around using her FTL Gear to travel around the galaxy at speeds faster than light.

Items/Minions

FTL Gear – Piper’s harness uses alien FTL technology which allows her to “Hyper Jump” short distances or punch into FTL to get from virtually any Point A to Point B, though this is in a straight line.  It is controlled via mental command.  When jumping, a field protects her from the rigors of those speeds and shields her from impacts.  It also allows her to accelerate her movements in short bursts.  She can use this device to change direction in the air, mid-fall, and to create "Zero Zones," which are small pockets of space in which gravity is enhanced sometimes a hundred fold.  This is projected through the reactor in the harness's chest piece.  While the Gear can theoretically be used for sustained flight or long periods of accelerated motion, she doesn't advise anyone try it.  That said, Piper has been ironing out the kinks in a rendition of her gear that won't have that pesky limitation. While the FTL Gear can push to speeds beyond that of light, Hyper Jumps are much slower, clocking in Supersonic Speeds at maximum.
FTL Gear Shortcomings - The FTL Gear is not presently at a level on which it can achieve FTL Speeds for much less than an interplanetary jump. While Piper is working on that, it is because the person wearing the FTL Gear would likely not survive an FTL Jump that brief.  Therefore, all jumps planet-side are Hyper Jumps, instead. Also, Zero Zones, while powerful, only last for roughly ten seconds before the effect dissipates. They last longer, however, in space, lasting roughly 30 seconds. The FTL Gear requires charging. It utilizes charge whenever a jump is made.

Particle Hand Cannons - They're particle weapons and are exactly what they sound like. Cannons in the shape of hand guns. They can fire a particle beam with enough force to knock a person over and enough heat to cut through steel if using in a continuous stream. Or they can charge a shot with enough concussive force to stop a truck and enough heat to melt tank armor.
Shortcomings: While a standard shot is fine, continuous and charged shots can cause the thermal clip in the cannons to overheat.

HUD Goggles - Heads-Up-Display

Holodex - Essentially a portable super computer with a Virtual Intelligence (Not the same as A.I. It isn't self aware) interface. It looks like a holographic wrist watch of sorts. She refers to the interface as DEXTER.
