The Legacy

Personality: Celtic is a woman of no words and an artist of action. Because of her past and the way she was raised, she keeps her conversations short and to the point (whether off or on duty). She hates people who sugar-coat and/or run in circles. This gives people the notion that she is a rather careless, abrasive soul with only the matter of her job on her mind. While Cel would not necessarily disagree with that statement, she also would not agree. In her mind, Cel feels as though her thoughts and opinions are very harsh and blunt, 'too much for the sensitive hearts of an ignorant society.' Despite understanding the knowledge of her own cruelty, she never feels the need to hold the truth from someone, even if it kills them.

Always the quiet child in class, Cel never could get along quite well with children her age. They would offer to play with her only to meet the gaze of a grey-eyed dragon (figuratively speaking, of course). In middle school, a boy with rosey cheeks and doe eyes attempted to ask her to the dance, but had ended up with a throat full of rusted locker. Cel could never be a personable citizen, with her signature scowl permanently etched onto her face and nonchalant shrugs in response to meaningful questions and/or statements. Never was she a favorite of her teachers. Each of them would write in agitated scrawls to her guardian about her uncooperative behavior.

There is an only three souls she could ever turn to who would accept her uncomfortable opinions, whom would always encourage her to speak of her mind and never become tainted as so many had before. Those souls were her Mother, her current guardian, and her white dove, J.J. Mum was the sky above her, a soft shade of cerulean. The pathway to a world unknown decorated with the grins of fireflies. Vinny, her wisp of wind under the wise sky, teasing her with his gusts and bellows of obnoxious laughter and overused jokes. Lastly, J.J., despite the barrier of species, he was the cool grass beneath her, gracing her with ease, brushing away the fear with blades of green.

In short, just these three could ever help lower the walls planted firmly around her. For it was these three, her family, that she ever dare to put but a mere ounce trust into.

There is most likely no one more obsessed with life than Cel-Ray. If asked, she will place blame on her abilities but many suspect it has to do with her 'inner fire'. The instinct to watch life transcend and grow, then destroy it in a wave of unstoppable force to watch life regrow once more. "But there is no inner fire,"she continuously tells herself. "My abilities crave the need for energy, for fresh life."

Hobby-wise, there probably isn't anything containing speed that had not captured her interest. Martial arts, horse racing/eventing, speed racing, track, football, soccer.. The list goes on.  Cel had found that some of her best moments in life went by in blazing blur and from that, her love for the need of speed grew exceptionally.

History:
Prequel:
Celtic Mahina Rayflo is the daughter of Liora Rayflo ( an intelligent mutant working to help humans) and Adrian Melanchthon (a man seeking power through any means). Since birth, it was always Liora who had been there for most of her daughter's life. Nothing made Liora happier than watching her daughter blossom into a creature of great beauty. Cel's father rarely made appearances in her life that she often forgot who he was. Adrian seemed more intent on securing a place in power rather than his own daughter.

But Vinny, a shaman in service of the Rayflo family, made up for all the times her father wasn't there. At five years of age, he began to tell her about the simple things about ghosts; how some could be mean while others were nice. She enjoyed hearing him talk about the paranormal and always begged for more stories to be told. Her mother felt that Vinny was starting things too early, but held her tongue anyway, letting the shaman do his job. At seven is when the girl had her first paranormal experience. She had 'stumbled upon' Vinny's book of spells. Even though she was above the average intelligence for a seven year old, she could not comprehend the meanings of the words, let alone pronounce them. So she just opted for drawing the diagrams in the book on the floor. A big mistake. Once she was satisfied, Cel moved to sit in the middle of the diagram. The symbols glowed a transparent blue before the ground shook. The girl was too shocked to move as a pair of large hands rose from the symbols.

"You are not so tough now, Ziv," the gravelly voice taunted her.

Trembling in fear, the girl held out her hands to shield herself, begging for the hands to go away. As the hands moved towards her, Cel screamed and a bright, burning light left her palms. The projectile produced large cracks along the wall and ceiling. The intesity of it was great enough to fling her into the wall behind her.

Liora and Vinny rushed to the room after hearing the commotion and nearly collapsed at the sight. Celtic was unconscious for two weeks. When she woke, she found herself in a hospital, vaguely remembering the hands but recalling the light and the explosion in almost perfect detail. She was absolutely terrified of what her mother would think or Vinny.

When said pair entered the hospital room fifteen minutes later, Cel burst into tears. Her mother cradled her in a gentle embrace as Vinny held her hand, listening to her speak of that instant in the room. Vinny frowned after she was done and told her the ancient tale of Orran and Aonani and her place in that story; she was supposed to become a hero and save mortals from grave danger.

Months after her recovery, Liora taught her daughter the ways of Aonani until she was ten. Until Liora was murdered.

Vincent and Cel arrived home from a trip to the dojo to find the house oddly quiet. There was no music, not the signature melody of a content mother. They ventured into the living room to find the young mother dead. Cel quietly knelt beside her mum, gently shaking her, whispering to her to wake up. Her skin was cold, mouth slightly parted in her last exhale, hazel devoid of any life. Vinny knelt beside her and drew her into his arms as she screamed.

Further investigation by Vinny showed that all of Adrian's belongings were gone. Though greatly angered by this, the shaman kept this piece of information to himself. After gathering Cel and her possessions, the fled the house once Vinny set fire to it. The pair moved from Ohio out to Oregon to settle down in an apartment for two. It was there in Portland that Cel met her dearest friend, J.J. Much to the confusion of Vinny, the white dove would follow the girl anywhere, often singing to her.

At age fourteen, Vincent decided it was time for Celtic to dawn the relics of her ancestors; the Blades of Alaula (her great, great aunt), the Mask of Lumina (her great grandmother), and the Armor of Beryl (her seventh great grandmother). Celtic made a vow to her dead mother from that day to prevent the same evil from stealing another innocent soul again.

Now, at fifteen, Kaia-Mai, is feared by those who have sinned. She will do anything to stop that same evil that took her mother- through any means necessary.

The Powers

Power 1: Energy Projection- Cel can release a variety of ranged energy-attacks in different shapes through her hands. However, she is not immune to the blasts of these energy projections. Using this ability requires a large amount of energy and she can become exhausted if too much energy is used. 15 to about 30 minutes is the longest that she can perform this ability non-stop since she does not have the proper training in how intense the projections can be. [5 AP]

Power 2: Innate Combat- Cel can become unbelievably killed in any form of combat she trains in. This also applies to weaponry. But, in order for her to master the form of combat, she must first observe it demonstrated visually. [1 ABI]

Power 3: Increased Perceptions- The teen has inhuman heightened senses (touch, taste, smell, sight, sound, & the sixth). These senses can be disrupted by magic or dangerous drugs/toxins (chloroform, etc.). [2 ABI]

Enhanced agility can be reflected in your Speed and Fighting Skills stats, you don't need to spend ABI points on it. Likewise a high fighting skill can be represented by a high fighting skill stat...though if you're wanting photographic reflexes, that is 1 point in ability. With that in mind you would have more ability points to distribute.

Also just so you know with 3 ep your energy projection would be fairly weak. More of a utility power, it wouldn't do much to characters with superhuman DUR.
