The Looks

Baxter Boulliard is an african american man that reaches the sky at 6'4 and weighs aproximately 200 pounds. He has a slim, reasonably athletic build and generally dresses conservatively in slightly outdated suits, or slacks and a tweed jacket. He wears classes usually perched on his slightly too big nose and has a serious but good-natured expression on his face. He has thick lips and a heavy jaws and a chin that looks slightly too big for his face. His thick, wild hair is usually tied back into what would resemble a ponytail if it was not for the frizzyness of his hair.

As Doctor Disco his posture is far more confident, and a big, toothy grin is always platered on his face. He usually wears a pair of round sunglasses to conceal the bright green blow emnating from his eyes. He usually wears a tight, form-fitting jumpsuit silver jumpsuit wih wide, flared legs and arms, as well as a generous amount of fake gemstones studding the  wide colar and on either side of the zipper. Speaking of the zipper, it is usually unzipped over his chest to show off his chest-hair in a true seventies fashion. On his fingers he wears a multitude of gaudy rings and around his neck hangs a multitude of necklaces. To top everything off he wears a purple, leapoard-printed faux-fur pimpcoat reaching down to his ankles.

But his most notable feature is his gargantuan, majestic and awe-inspiring Afro haircut, and on occasion he wears a purple faux.fur pimp-hat with a huuuge ostrich-feather on top of his afro.

The Legacy

Personality:
Baxter Boulliard is rather Timid and somewhat shy, but is generally easy-going and friendly, even if his divorce has made him rather depressed.  Even though he does his best to keep his melancholy to himself  it occasionally shines through. He has a passion for history and archeology but is not the sort of fellow to lecture people unbidden. Despite his troubles he laughs easily, and since his joining with the spirit he has become more assertive, spontaneous and self-centererd, even when he's "normal"

When he goes Full-out Doctor Disco he is a full-blown Id with an almost powerless Ego and Superego. Even if Disco uses his powers to attempt to do good, he soon goes full-on hedonist. He is not exactly cruel, just generally thoughtless and indifferent. Disco is also flamboyant to the Nth degree, and always bobs his head or snaps his fingers along with some unheard rythm. He simply can't help himself. The more of his powers that he uses the more pronounced these little 'tics' become. snapping his fingers turns to moonwalking and so on and so forth.

History:
Doctor Baxter Boulliard was born on a monday 43 years ago by Barry Boulliard and Marilyn Maddox. His homelife was generally somewhat happy even if his family was far from affluent. In his youth he spoke with a stutter and a lisp wich caused quite a bit of teasing during his earlier years, when he lost his baby-teeth the lisp seemingly resolved itself and when he reached fifteen speech-therapy had helped with the stutter. The teasing had stopped by then and Baxter had become a talented athlete, competing in swimming for the school team. but also training boxing and capoiera.

Our hero had Brains as well as brawn and was determined to work himself up from his humble beginnings and he did just that. He got into a college on a scholarship and studied history, his favourite subject and soon enough he found that his dedication to his studies had finally paid off. He took an interest in archeology and soon travelled the world to arious digs as he worked on his thesis.

After getting his doctorate he quickly got a job as an assistant curator at a museum. A comfortable job that suited Mr.Boulliard excellently. He even met a girl he felt comfortable with and started a comfortable family in a comfortable neighborhood. Right then and there he felt that his life had reached its peak. He felt proud about his accomplishments, but as we all know pride goes before the fall. It happened one year when our hero was almost fourty, his wife decided she wanted divorce due to a few "missteps" Baxter had made together with a young pretty grad-student. He lost pretty much everything in the rather messy divorce and ended up depressed. Easy prey for a would-be shamanistic villain looking for artifacts. In return for his pick of the musemus artifacts he would make Baxters problems go away. . .

Even though Baxters instincts told him that this was a particurlarly bad idea, he had little choice but to accept. After all, how could he not take a chance to be happy again? turns out he was right to be worried since the shamans way of making Baxters problems go away was to use him as a sacrifice to a spirit in a bid for more powers. However, the spirit had his own agenda. It had once been worshipped by an ancient, long-forgotten tribe as a god of the ward-dance, and longed for the days of revelry, and it saw something in Baxter, lord knows what, but he decided to give the horrified curator an offer: Join with me or I will eat you as the shaman wanted. The horrified Baxter suddenly felt something latch onto his soul and merge with it. Like salt disolving into water. He was the same, but he was changed. The shaman gazed at him in disbelief as Baxters hair suddenly grew into a gargantuan afro and his eyes started to glow brightly. Baxter gazed at the shaman and suddenly started to dance. Like a pro. And so, the Shaman danced too. He danced and danced and danced untill he died.

At first Baxter was overjoyed. He had gained strange powers somehow and it was awesome! The dance made him forget his troubles, made him feel omnipotent, made him feel like he mattered! At first his intentions to use these powers were pure. He started out using them to stop robberies and draw attention to issues he believed in, but soon enough he realized that the spirit had passed along his urges as well as his powers. He wanted to gorge himself on food, dance and pick up women without paying any heed to anything else. He wanted to follow his every whim without any consideration to the consequences

The Powers and Weaknesses

Powers

Power 1: Disco Fever*
Doctor Disco has the power of Disco! This means that whenever he starts to dance, everyone around him is magically compelled to drop whatever it is they are doing  and dance themselves, busting moves they did not even know they had and forgetting their troubles. Being magically forced to dance may sound like a bad thing, but it is actually quite the opposite. The victims forget all their troubles, their wants, desires and lose themselves to the euphoria of the dance. They are immune to pain and feelings of exhaustion and may literally dance themselves to death. Not only that, but the euphoria of the disco fever is extremely addictive, causing many one-time victims to seek out Doctor Disco-related happenings to experience it again.

The Dance itself seems to have a pseudo-telepathic element to it, due to the occasioanal, seemingly spontenous, yet extremely choreographed dance-offs that occurs when the doctor uses his dancing-powers. Another hard-to-explain sub-effect is the odd strobe-light and disco-ball effects that spontaneously pop up during during a dance-off.  well as the "discofication" that might appear when his powers really start to surge, causing people to spontaneously develop 70's-esque disco regalia such as afros and flared pants. these effects are harmless and little more than an odd distraction wich the Doctor seem to have no controll of and usually fade a few minutes after the dance-off.

Whenever Doctor Disco stops dancing the spell is broken, but it usually takes a few minutes for the effects to wear off, it generally takes longer the more people that are under his spell

Power 2:Superhuman Charisma*
Despite being a man with a huge afro, dressed in a silver jumpsuit with a gem-studded belt, pimpcape and outdated shades, lingo and dance-moves Doctor Discos charisma-power causes people to think he's the coolest thing to walk the face of the world. The power is of an "always on"-category, but it increases in intensity with the number of people present and by the use of Disco's other powers

Also, this power makes sure that people see an idealized version of Doctor disco, noticing his dashing physique, big bright smile, awesome posture and tubular moon-walk whilst  "missing" over his heavy jaw, pock-marks and slightly overlarge nose. This makes it difficult to get more than a general descriptions from those that has encountered him

Power 3: Strobe lights of doom!
Doctor Disco's seemingly most "Normal" powers are a set of rather standard energy-manipulation abilities, capable of creating shield, shooting beams, the usual stuff. Thse are pretty powerful, but the most notable thing about them is that they only come in rainbow-colours and have weird, disco-esque sound-effects

Power 4: Hypnosis *
Whenever someone is under the spell of Disco's superhuman charisma, he may hyptnotize them. by looking straight into their eyes and giving them instructions. These commands might be anything from "Lay down and count to a million" to "When the clock strikes ten you will crow like a rooster and then forget that you just crowed like a rooster, you loser" These effects are generally longer-lived than Disco's other powers, and can remain up to a month after his departure. However, the recovery from this ability might be hastened by therapy

Power 5: The healing power of Disco
By doing a particurlarly awesome moonwalk and finishing with a pelvic thrust Disco can magically heal a person under the influence of his superhuman charisma

Power 6: Disco flight!
Yes, Doctor Disco can fly. Although it has the rather odd side-effect of him leaving a rainbow trailing after him as he goes. THis effect lasts little under half a minute and is deceptively hard to see during the day. (the rainbow, that is, Disco himself is as easy to spot as any flying fellow)

*These powers can be opted out from by PCs

Weakness(es)

Weakness 1: No cure for the Disco fever!:Doctor disco's Dancing-powers are a double-edged sword. The more he uses his power the harder it is for him to stop, and think logically.  It has a sort of addictive quality to it, wich means he has to mentally restrain himself to avoid spontaneous dance-parties. and to actually stop dancing once he has begun

Weakness 2: Too cool for school: Doctor Disco is not unaffected by his own superhuman charisma, the more it "flares up" the more he loses his grip on reality and buys into his own "hype" For example whenever he is surrounded by his adoring fans he might actually believe that its still the seventies somehow, thus forgetting what is really going on, neglecting to follow through on whatever plans that does not deal with his immediate desires

Weakness 3: Take the spotlight
Doctor Disco's power can't be used subtly. The nature of the powers themselves prevent it. whenever Baxter uses his powers his eyes glows a bright neon green and somehow disco-music starts to mysteriously play in his vicinity, alerting any and all to his presence. These effects fade after a minute or two after Disco has stopped using his power, but may last longer if he has used them more

Weakness 4:Hop aboard the crazy train:
Although there are no actual split personalities involved Doctor Disco is very different from Baxter Boulliard. Baxter is a reasonably good-natured if somewhat timid and dull, yet highly intelligent archeologist and historian whilst Doctor Disco is an instant-gratification-demanding party-animal who wants what he wants and wants it now. The more Baxter uses his abilities the harder it gets for him to resist his Disco-urges. Wich means that whilst he may go out with the intention of fighting crime, he might bet "blindsided" by his discoish urges and rob a bank to get enough cash to buy a thousand cheeseburgers and a few new gnarly pairs of sunglasses

Weakness 5: Human physique.
Despite his larger than life attitude, Disco is still human. His bones break and his spleen ruptures just like anybody elses

Weakness 6: Easily tricked:
When in full-on disco-mode Dr.Disco rarely stops to think about anything, and thus he will easily fall for the most outrageous deceptions

RP Mechanics

RP Mechanic(s):

Extremely good fighter/dancer:
Baxter trained a bit of martial arts in his youth and while he was talented it was never more than a hobby to him, but after gaining his disco-powers his mind has been filled with the knowhow of all the cool dance-moves as well as mastery of capoiera-style fighting.
