KAIA-MAI's Legend Begins [closed to Cel-Ray]

The sun shined through the linen curtains bathing the small room in a glorious light. Grace pulled herself up onto her shoulders scratching her just awakened eyes. She had nothing planned today, well, nothing normal. Today she would probably just save people. She couldn't understand how some heroes seemed to never sleep, that was just weird. She hopped out of her springy bed and pulled off her NBA singlet, she had wanted one for ages, but it was something Grace was a bit embarrassed to wear now, so she only wore it in bed.

She walked into the compact kitchen and put 2 pieces of toast in the toaster. She sat down on the kitchen table and started drumming her fingers in a rhythm waiting for the sound of the pop when the toast was done. She picked up the pieces of toast and buttered them also adding some jam to them, yum.

She closed the door behind her and hopped into her car, a small red Holden the colour of her lips. Later arriving in the middle of Florida, she hopped out of the car into the sounds and smells of a city. Finding the nearest cafe she ordered a large latte, skim milk and no sugar, just how she liked it. The lady serving her was friendly enough and it looked like life had been good to her.

She picked up her order just as she heard people yelling and screaming.
"Here we go" she muttered to herself.
Rushing out of the retro cafe she ran onto the street and saw a dark skinned individual battling a man in a top hat holding a cutlass in his hand. She knew the villain, Top Hat Jack he called himself, he had the ability to pull out anything within width out of his top hat, it must be a magical power she had often thought to herself.

But this other woman was someone she had never seen before, was she good or bad?

'So simple,' she had thought. 'He has a top hat. How much damage could he possibly do?' Well, he had already managed to knock of her mask, and they weren't even really in the thick of the fight yet. 'Okay, I need to adjust.'

Celtic Rayflo- or in this case, Kaia-Mai-, a fifteen year old girl trained like an assassin and possessing the power of the Sun. She picked up her mask, studied the chipped ear with sharp, steel-grey eyes, and placed it on her face once more. "Alaula, forgive me," she whispered. Just as she was about to barrel towards Top Hat, a girl caught her eye. Standing there. In the middle of a freak show.

Cel swallowed her anger for the situation at hand; the girl was probably just paralyzed by the situation. Whatever the case, she had vowed she would protect the innocents. Instead of rushing to the girl's aid, she remained quiet. If Cel drew attention to the girl, Top Hat would definitely splatter her. Kaia-Mai kept her cool, ash colored armor shining in the rays of the morning.

The sun was on her side. This brought a wicked smile to her unseen features.

"Top Hat Jack, right?" Deft fingers traveled to the cases strapped to her back. "Ha.. I know someone like you."

Kaia-Mai NPC:

Grace closed her eyes and concentrated, her rune mark shone brightly underneath her blue t-shirt. She summoned two Z'awvers an assassin type demon, her favourite. The people at the scene took a sharp intake of breath and then started clapping, they knew who she was. The demons kneeled down at her feet as still as a pair of statues. Grace raised her arms and put them on the shoulders of the two assassins, their shoulders were covered in a rough armour, her fingers ran through the groves. The beasts stood up and nodded their head at Grace. They unsheathed their large swords on their backs and flitted towards the villain, their feet not leaving mark nor sound on the ground.

Grace had given them strict instructions not to harm the dark skinned girl, who now was wearing a mask, let's just hope they listened.

The demons

Cel did a double take. Okay, so maybe the girl was standing there for a reason. She eyed the large creatures, growling slightly at how their presence made her uneasy. The teen took two steps forward, stopped, and watched as the creatures moved towards Jack. This wasn't right; Jack was her target. Had been chasing him from Portland and across the country. He'd already killed enough innocents. It was to end here and now, by her hand.

A soft exhale left the villian. "Kaia-Mai, I'm rather dissapointed. You didn't tell me that you had friends."

Celtic growled, "Unexpected guests. But this isn't about them."

"You're right. Where were we?"

Without warning the teen bolted towards Top Hat, all the while staying aware of the creatures. Jack granted her an almost sympathetic smile as he waved a hand over his hat, then began to pull something out. Cel cursed to herself as a beam shot out- but the bolts weren't aimed at her.

They were headed towards the creatures.

The demons dodged the beam with simple ease, they suddenly jumped at the villain with grace and power bringing their swords down with unparalleled power. Top Hat Jack barely had time to dodge the attack as the sword hit the road cracking it where the swords were lodged. The beasts shifted their weight and dragged their swords out from the ground, the tarmac rolling along the ground. They seemed to be one being, flowing around each other like water.

Without warning one of the beasts threw their sword, it with perfect accuracy, hit the villain in the side of the body, but it did not hit his body but his clothes. It lodged him into the side of the building pinning him there, he struggled frantically his hat lying on the ground to no avail. The other masked character on the scene walked over to him.

The crowd clapped as Grace patted the 8 foot demons on the back. Now to see Top Hat Jack also she thought to herself.

Temper.

Cel always had a bad one.

She ignored the crowds clapping at the girl from the cafe, boots clacking on the ground as she strode towards a helpless Jack. An armored glove with a hole in the palm lifted to face the villian.

Jack thrashed violently, fear evident in his eyes. The damaged mask offered no solace or prayers for the wicked. A blinding light left the palm of Kaia-Mai and hit Top Hat Jack in the leg. The man screamed in agony as the light cut through flesh and bone, leaving a certain magician without a limb. Screams of horror from the crowd echoed through the streets.

Kaia-Mai settled for this; he officially had nowhere to run. Black silk and sleek in design.. The assassin picked up the top hat, eyeing it curiously before settling onto her head. Vinny would definitely enjoy her treat for him.

Speaking of treats..

A small ice cream shop shined in all of heaven's glory. Another wicked smile etched into her features. Cinnamon Rice ice cream sounded like gold right about now. Cel briskly walked down the street, miraculously forgetting Top Hat Jack and the girl with the creatures.

"Cinnamon rice!" Her voice a high-pitched shriek that gave the man near a heart attack. He scooped the flavor, placed it onto a cone. Cel through a twenty dollar bill and retreated to a corner in the back of the shop.

The smell of burnt flesh filled the air. Grace gagged and turned her head away, the demons turned to dust their power returning to Grace. She stalked after the women who now was wearing the top hat of Top Hat Jack. What a weird thing to do she mused to herself, buying an ice-cream after this. She walked into the shop filled with vibrant colours.
"Why did you do that back there?" she plopped down next to the individual. She started scratching her runemark, it always got itchy after a summoning.

Grey eyes flickered with a burning, feral, fury, but it disappeared as the teen flicked her tongue against the cold treat. Long ago she had removed her mask to properly eat.

"Why? I have been chasing that bastard from Portland and beyond. He has killed over twenty innocent people. Not to mention the ones he probably killed today alone. For what? Some demonic presence he was so desperately attempting to please." The rich voice of Cel remained calm with a razor edge that usually frightened people.

Her fingers settled onto the mask placed on the cool surface of the table. Voice just a whisper now, she growled before murmuring, "You never let people like that get away. I came in here to calm my nerves so I wouldn't kill him just yet, but all it's doing is making me hyper. Want it?"

Grace looked at the angry girl, she must have been a hero the way she hunted down the evil villain, but she disagreed with her in one aspect.
"No I don't like cinammon rice, but don't you think being put in prison for the rest of your life is a more hefty punishment than being put to death?", she shrugged her shoulders. She wanted to get on the good side of this girl, teaming up with her would be great. Grace smiled at the girl compassionately she was young and she looked like she had had a hard life.
"Come on let's go somewhere else", Grace stood up and beckoned the hero to come.

They went out side as the city returned to normal, the cops had Top Hat Jack and everyone was safe. Grace hopped in her red car.
"Let's go for a drive".

"And risk the chance of him getting out again? No. I can't allow that. He's better off dead." With reluctance, she followed the girl outside to a red car. Celtic stared at it as the girl offered a ride.

"I don't even know your name, let alone your purpose. Why should I go with you?"

"You don't have a reason to trust me, but from one hero to another we should team up and train together. I haven't met a female hero in like forever" Grace smiled and hit the passenger set of the car inclining for her to hop in, "lets go to my house and train". She turned the red car on and the engine hummed filling the air with a slight smoky smell.
