INV ONLY A day in crazy town (Mac)

Post by Shael Atterrius May 19th 2020, 10:19 pm

Today was like any other day for Shael.

The nest of birds outside chirped their tune, screaming for food from the mother flitting too and fro to feed her young. He liked to watch it, knowing soon enough the birds would be old enough to leave their nest and live their lives. Maybe even eventually lay their own eggs, some to return to the branch outside his room. He did have a tendency to leave choice pieces for them to build a nest out of after all. He watched the birds for half an hour, then getting dressed in usual fashion. Camo shorts and whatever shirt he dredged from the pile; that being a black shirt with red claw marks dragged across the front of it.

The smell of food wafted through the kitchen as he walked in. Eggs, bacon and various other breakfast foods Fera had managed to master cooking recently. The intense smell of it made his mouth water, Shael hopping on an unoccupied section of the counter and eyeing the food sizzling in the black non-stick skillet. ”Don’t tell me this is what woke you up,” She asked quizzically, smiling faintly despite how serious the question might have seemed.

”Maybe,” He replied with a mischievous smile, hopping off from the counter and landing on his feet.

That only seemed to amuse her, piling the breakfast items on a plate and settling them down for him to eat at his own leisure. That happened to be as fast as an animal, shoveling it into his mouth and chewing noisily until he felt the harsh glare at him. ”Shael, if you’re going to have human friends you should eat like a human, not like a barn animal at the trough,” One of her many chides about him acting like humans, though he never understood the reason behind politeness or whatever that was. He just did whatever felt right, even if that meant people looking at him strangely. To an extent his dad always seemed to understand, though he had a better understanding of those kind of things.

”Fine,” He grumbled through a mouthful of bacon and eggs, chewing slower until he could swallow it without the threat of choking that loomed. ”still don’t see why I need to learn this stuff. Feels boring,” he pouted jabbing a strip of bacon and biting off the end of it, sullenly chewing it.

”Well if you want to…get along better with humans, you need to learn a few of their customs. Such as ways of eating or the necessity of clothing. As an animal you might get away with nothing, but people apparently don’t appreciate seeing anyone’s dangling bits. Regardless of impressiveness, ” Well, his sister  knew more about how people worked so he just assumed she knew everything or enough. Which is why he learned that it was no longer polite to drop dead animals at someone’s feet, man or woman. They always reacted to shinies much better, though those were hard to get considering his uncles hoard was protected by…well him and he was a dragon.

Even with the glacial pace, he finished his breakfast quick enough and licked his lips to get the residual grease from them. Rising from his seat he rolled his shoulders and huffed.

”Out for another day of play?” Fera questioned, retiring to her favorite recliner in the adjoined small living room and reading through a ratty, pulp paper novel.

”Yeah, my pack needs me,” He responded, already on his way out the door and barely listening to the response she gave him. From there he was off, a black bird flying through the air. High over the city with its loud cars and buildings that at times loomed even higher. At times Shael wondered what happened within them, though in the end it didn’t matter.  Even Shael knew that no one paid much attention to the birds flying around the city. They were more interested in whatever it was they were doing, and he landed near his favorite dog park. Taking the same form of a german shepherd, much like the one Matt tended to have at his house. He played with the dogs for a bit, dug some holes and made their “owners” crazy by running about.

By the time he was done he was on to do something else, or might have done something else until he heard the sound of something, A heavy item bashing hard against concrete, metal screeching and glass shattering in a way he knew most humans wouldn’t have been able to hear. His sharp senses allowed him to follow the hubbub, a squirrel running along the powerline until they gave way and  flopped to the ground from the twisted and broken pole. Next thing he knew he was overlooking a crime scene of sorts, though most would have called it a nuisance. From time to time those metahumans he saw on tv caused some problems, though he didn’t know if that was his issue.

Sure, his dad was trying to do some heroism much like Silus used to or maybe even still did. The idea of doing something about it did sound appealing, in the way that crazy people liked the sound of rushing into danger. He wasn’t known for self control afterall. Usually people had their guns, which weren’t much of a threat so long as he didn’t let himself get shot. Slipping closer in the form of a rat he took note of the person responsible, a large looking man with muscles to match the damage and a bald head with a comical amount of bags slung over his shoulder.

This’ll be fun, He thought to himself.

INV ONLY Re: A day in crazy town (Mac)

Post by Dustin Waugh May 19th 2020, 11:31 pm

It was a bright early morning and already on the move was David. Turning new ground he was adventuring out as far and wide as he could find. There were so many things to see, and plenty to do while he was no longer strapped down to a stale life where you could guess the out come. He no longer had the style where naming past days could foretell his next day. He could finally go visit the wonders and attractions the world had to offer and most importantly he could finally start helping people that longed for his aid. So he was brought to this large, crowded city do to its increasing violence. Los Angeles, though a great tour attraction it brings California, it was still a heavily influenced city of crime.

David sat in his bus seat staring out the window, watching as light poles would zip by as they drove past them. He was wearing a neatly folded shirt and a pair of jeans. He had shoes matching the dark maroon shirt he wore. He carried the rest of his belongings in two rolling bags so he looked more like a kid going to a home instead of a kid running away and traveling.

"Urrr....Chhhh" the bus stopped finally making its dock at the shuttle station. David with bags in hand stepped off the bus and put his arms up as to stretch out the fatigue he was feeling. While mid stretch he looked around for a quick alley access and finished with a back pop when he found the alley. His hands floated down like muscle memory grabbing his bags as he started for the alley. Making sure no one followed he quickly entered and then started levitating the bag and himself for easier and lighter carry. He stopped before taking off as he found a sleeping man in the alley.

As he floated back down to the man he noticed he was unconscious but could tell he was in pain and lived a hard life. David place his hands on the guy and fixed what looked like a disconnected leg joint and large blisters all over the mans skin. By the time he would wake up David would be long gone. But its not the thanks he wants. Just knowing he can change life for the better is enough for him.

As he floated over the buildings he heard screeching and sounds of shattering glass. "Was it more help that was needed? I should head over there" he thought to himself as he felt slightly happy to immediately have such a great impact on the city within just the first few minutes. He Flew over with bags in toll. He got closer and could see the wreckage. He floated his bags to the top of a roof and set his items down as he peered over the people. "It looks like Thugs. I better do something quick before someone gets injured." He clenched his fist and got prepared to jump down.

Post by Shael Atterrius May 20th 2020, 12:14 am

Shael eyed the bag of clothes that floated before him, black eyes narrowed and curious what that meant.  Someone else taking an interest in this mess in the making? Could be, though that just meant he would have some help in doing something about it. Silus would have been against killing them, though he didn’t know how he felt about that. They likely didn’t care about hurting people, so why should he want to keep them unharmed? He took in the scent of fire and smoke, burning his nostrils in a way that reminded him why he avoided setting things on fire. ”Too much concrete, not enough plants,” he muttered to himself, brows furrowing in mild annoyance. There were the occasional trees, though one of them was uprooted and flopped over the street. Definitely stopping most traffic.

Granted when it came to Shael there were always so many scents around him. People, dogs, animals, food and even things they likely would have not wanted scented out. The bags smelled of someone, which meant he was not entirely wrong. On all fours he sniffed the recognizing and following the scent until his eyes fell on a dark haired human. Metahuman? Well, if he were part of the small attempt to stop such wanton destruction, well who was Shael to stop him? A low, curious hum worked from his throat as he  skittered down the rooftop as a lizard and shifted back into his humanoid form. He picked out the tree knocked down, watching the root dramatically stretch and reach out to wrap around the muscular mans forearm and latch on tightly.

That pulled him off balance, sending a few of the bags scattering across the ground and leaving him more annoyed than ever. “Greg you moron! First pink shooting children and now plants? Can you not get caught up with everything?” A screechingly annoying voice shouted, a blast of force ripping through the root that bound the man and freeing him. “pick up the damn loot already.” Words were added as someone came into view, a thin looking middle aged man with thick black hair and energy vibrating around his hands. Who were they anyway?

”Dang, didn’t expect that,” Shael spoke up with a frown and likely catching the other youths attention as more roots rose from the ground broken and shattered from the fight and lashed out at the two criminals, though they did nothing more than mildly bother the strong one. Maybe he needed to do a little more than just try to lash them with plants. ”need a little help?” he questioned, smiling toothily with his razor sharp canines.

Seeing the scene the violence would slowly start to escalate do to his arrival. Good way to point out heroes is look for those who show up after you cause a disturbance. And David towering above them on a roof was a big alert saying "Hero, Hero". But thanks to his arrival it seemed he also caught the attention of another helping man. He didn't notice until plant roots shot out from a fallen tree snaring the largest man's arm and causing him to sling luggage around causing rage in his voice. Suddenly the vines blew up freeing the guy. Startling David spoke "damn another meta. Just a little more effort before I can truly settle in here."

After the middle aged man who blew off the vine appeared he head the other assisting hero ask for a little help. "Will do" he said as his mood and face became intensely more serious. He grabbed a loose steel pipe off the roof and wielded it in the form of a weapon. He stepped off the building as air caught his feet. He used his ability to walk towards him creating a platform of telekinetic energy. Running his hand down the pipe it started to change shape as it turned into a lengthy metal chain with a masterlock lock on the end. Using telekinesis the chain sprung to life as it zipped down to the once previous man who was caught by the roots and wrapped around his arms and legs creating a body harness. The chain came together locking behind the muscular man's back.

"That's one." His eyes peered at the other meta human. As he figured the guy would take action, but instead David would go first. Holding out his arm and hand, he pointed out his index and middle finger towards the man standing there. He concentrated a little and then pointed straight down causing a large wave to smash the guy into the ground causing the concrete to break under him. "I'll fix that" he said as the damage was his fault. It seemed the job was done. One man was struggling to free himself and the other was face first into the ground.

He started floating to the ground when he suddenly heard laughter. The guy was getting back up from his dirt sandwich. David readied his fist as he watched the guy. He would counter him if he tried to strike.

Perhaps the guy wasn’t paying attention to him but he was helping him out in wrangling this whole show of shit together, so that meant he didn’t have to waste as much energy. Birds shrieked as they flew away from the chaos, and he frowned, not quite enjoying knowing what they were actually saying. Fear, regardless of the species tended to bother him. “greg, get your shit together,” The one that had been slammed to the ground started vibrating like a static image, seemingly unaffected now by what had been holding him down for a few moments. “we both know it takes more than that to keep you down,” That admonishment seemed enough to lionize the man to snap apart the chains binding him and  toss them aside in broken fragments.

Well, these guys looked like they were pretty strong. Stronger than most people he had been forced to fight before, though he knew someone like his dad could take care of them should he really care to try. Could he though? Shael never fought seriously, not enough to even find himself tired. “Now do something about them!” The muscled man eyed him annoyed but didn’t go against the order, raising a meaty fist and slamming it into the concrete street below him. A loud impact rang out from the point, shattering and ruining the point from where it hit.

That was when everything gave out underfoot. He felt it first like a sudden loss of balance and then falling downwards, concrete and whatever else made streets coming down with him. He only had a few seconds, shifting into the first form that came to mind. His clothes shifted with him, black feathers and wings a craw as he flew upwards.  Watching the man shout angrily at the muscular man as he hovered in the air. He rapidly shifted again and landed on all fours on an upended car sticking out from  a large section of destroyed street, eyes narrowed at the one who had ruined the whole thing. He looked around for the hero that had come to help, eyes curious and wide.

Some of the buildings adjacent to the street sagged donwards, partially collapsing in a way that looked…well not good. ”Pretty sure this is the kind of stuff that people don’t like happening. Well, I didn’t do it,” he shrugged, leaping down and feeling the earth beneath him. With a thought two large walls rose and slammed around the strong meta and seemed to stun him from the force. Well, maybe that would do something for them.

Soon the man started to vibrate as if his molecules speed up or changed? He didn't know but the guy did get back up and now it would take longer to handle the situation. He didn't even bother knocking the dust off his clothing because it seemed there was no dust. Seems like more bull and what made things worse is the supposed leader shouted at rock for brains. He jumped back in place giving a slight stretch to easily snap the links of the chain. He snapped 6 almost instantaneous of each other do to the stress wrap he had them in. He shifted around and the chains fell to the ground.

The guy prepared for action as he slammed his fist into the ground. David could only imagine the strength he actually possessed and the wreckage that would turn their footing to the disadvantage. As the ground gave way David floated up slightly off the ground. With the guys attack done he immediately countered sending a fist shaped force plummeting into the muscular fellow knocking him into the side building. Before the wall could settle and all the loose pieces fell; the man was already stepping back out. David now wished his abilities had a bit more impact.

In a thought to bring the guy down he could not use force he would have to drain him of his fighting abilities. He grabbed debris off the ground and made a casing with a tiny rock inside. He altered it farther to the point the rock turned into tear gas. Now he held in hand a arsenal of tear gas capsule bullets he could fire with his mind. Holding one in hand he set it off. Launch out of his hand it smashed into the guys chest as gas spread out but only slightly away from his face. "He definitely got a big helping of that." The wind carried the rest away before effecting anyone else.

As he looked over he seen the other hero smashing the guy with two slabs of earth. Just watching him use that ability made him feel sluggish as if weight was being poured onto him. He looked down with the weight but glanced back up again. The guy was climbing out from between the 2 rocks as if he has done that a few times.

He held out his hand and made a portal connecting the two men. He dashed behind the brute and slammed him hard again with his ability. He watched the guy take the force and slip through the portal as he was projected into the other guy. If he was going to fight the both of them he would do it with careful calculations. Best not to draw anyone into the mess and to keep them near the same area they already destroyed.

The rocks didn’t slow the man down too much, stunning him but the seconds it took him to recover were enough to get him back onto his feet. The scent of foul gas followed, burning his nostrils and causing a few tears to well up around his eyes. Shael clamped a hand over his nose, a low whine working from his throat as he slipped into the ruined mess of the street. This gave him the perfect place to watch the conflict, the larger man hurtling through the air and nearly slamming into the smaller one. That being until a portal sparked before him, a swirling ring of energy that swallowed the man up and followed him smashing through the remains of a collapsed building.

”Wonder if I’m helping here,” Shael mused, watching the battle between people and their strange abilities. Well, that meant he didn’t need to waste too much energy. Either these people would be forced to run away, would be killed or captured by the men in blue. The Police as many people he knew tended to call them. Shifting into a sharp clawed creature he had seen before, he dug through the less packed earth beneath the street, feeling the vibrations moving through the earth. There was something happening above, though he didn’t need to know everything going on.

“Ugh! What is with kids around here! First the pink one and now this one, it’s maddening!” The elder villain shrieked in rage, energy crackling around his fingers as the air wavered around him and then suddenly stopped.

“I thought your powers were crazy boss but this one takes the cake,” Greg called from the ruined building, likely not understanding the irony of his own seeming indestructability. “also my name isn’t Greg. I thought we talked about this,” He sounded almost hurt, lifting a section of the building he was rising from and hucking it in the distance. Should that land, any unfortunate person might have even been smashed under it.

“Whatever Greg,” He dismissed, Shael popping up under the strong one through the concrete. He grabbed onto his ankles, and suddenly he sunk down to his neck. The air around him wavered, and suddenly he popped back up like one of those moles on a whacka mole machine. “We’re out, later Girl Scouts,” But they weren’t girls? He popped up against, watching the two of them get pulled through a purple portal, followed by a moment of chaotic silence.

A smaller portal followed with a hand that snatched one of the few bags of money that weren’t scattered to the wind and pulled it through before closing.

”What just happened?” He asked, looking around and then to the only person standing within the ruin as he hopped out and listened to the sound of sirens and something else approaching. Could be one of those scary anti-meta squads but what did he know? All he knew was that Fera would likely not like him having something to do with a mess like this.

As the stronger guy hopped out of the building he appeared unhurt. "This is a load of crap. Will I have to hit him harder? Anything more and i might break his ribs. I'd hate to kill the guy on accident, but his strength is becoming an unknown factor." He was in deep thought on what to do, but then the guy sunk into the ground. "Wait this could wor... or not." He began mumbling again and then snapped back to reason. Just hit him until the damage showed. He quickly leaped forward and swung his arm down. The ground and air were cut with a sharp force emanating from his hand.

But soon the bigger guy disappeared. As he looked to his right the other guy was leaving to. He had the ability to use portals like David. "Damn i should have seen this. He can manipulate space." But before he could react they were both gone, and not even a moment later so was a bag full of money. He let them get away. He should not have been so focused on how to beat them but concentrated more on just attacking them. David stomped his foot on the ground causing pain to flow through his leg, but it was immediately taken care of thanks to his healing.

It was time to right a few wrongs. David started floating higher into the middle of the streets and buildings soon everything started turning to slime then reforming back into undestroyed debris. Roads patched themselves and buildings formed back together. Soon in just a few minutes it looked like nothing had touched this area. Having Telekinesis and Alteration or Alchemy is very useful in patch work. He dropped back down next to the other hero to talk with him, and as he did he noticed the sirens in the distance. He turned his head towards the direction of the noise then back to the hero. "I think we should leave her for now. They might mistake us for those two. If you want we can form a team and hunt them down if they strike anywhere else again?" It was hard to talk to a complete stranger let alone another hero. Should he show him more respect or be more friendly with him. His feelings were in turmoil since he let the two escape.

David thought to himself for a second. Maybe thanking him would be a good idea... "Also thanks for the help, if it was just me there it would have been a lot harder to deal with those two" he said as you could hear the nervous pitch in his voice.

The silence following the two villains escape left Shael looking around, awkward and uncertain what to do now. The street was now a caved in mess, water spewing from fractured hydrants and water spewing over the street. ”hunt them down? I’m pretty good at hunting things down!” Shael stated with a certain level excitement, knowing that when it came to finding people he was always the person people came to. If they knew of him anyway. The fact he was asking him for help meant he didn’t have the same skills when it came to finding people. Now that was good. The harsh whistle of sirens managed to become even harsher and louder as they cars came closer, likely also rescue workers when he thought about it. Normally humans were pretty bad at escaping collapsing streets.

He scented the air, looking around for whatever scent he could follow though for the moment it felt like he had just absolutely disappeared. Save for the scents that remained in the area, nothing he could follow immediately. He wasn’t too bothered and didn’t even pay much attention to the male’s uncertain tone. ”you were doin pretty good. Woulda done worse on my own,” He wondered what the muscular guy could have done to him and none of the mental images really made him feel good. ”we should go, ” He then agreed, rising to his feet and motioning for the guy to follow however he wanted before breaking off into a run.

Jumping and leaping over the fractured sections of the street until he could break through an intact alleyway and to the conjoined street next to it. He looked around and then walked in the opposite direction the sirens were coming from until he felt like the two of them were far enough away from the scene. ”That was some pretty cool fighting. You some kind of hero?” he questioned now that they were far enough away from the fighting.

They swiftly took their leave of the area putting distance between them and the scene. It at the time was not wise to stay there and have to deal with questioning when the two could resurface again. They would h=be held up by cops while the two villains made another cash haul.

Running through the alley he bumped into a ladder that was in the dark. he Slipped past a few trash cans being cautious to not attract attention. Guess it didn't matter because he retraced his footsteps and just scene the cars showing up to the scene of the crime. "Slow pokes" he muttered in irritation. After moving far enough they stopped for a break or maybe just chat.

"Hero? Well yeah. It has been a dream to help people less fortunate than myself, and compared to fighting i have gained experience on the field and off." Thanks to his adaptive mind or better yet superior mind fighting is made a little easier when he can plan ahead to prevent or cause certain outcomes in a fight. He thought it puzzling that those big shots would allow such sloppy work. He could see brawn's action as trivial as to hit small places. Not the stronger one that had clearly more of a thought out process.

David thought to himself that there must have been a set amount of money in the place they hit. But not getting away with all of it would have them try again until both of them were satisfied. "I figured they would have to resurface again. I feel as if they didn't get satisfied with just one duffel bag of bills. I'm no good a tracing. I sort of just follow catastrophe in an area." David was being blunt that his abilities will not be enough, so he would have to rely on this new hero he met. "Hmm, I been assuming all this time but are you also a hero?"

Helping people less fortunate than you? That sounded like something that Matt would want to do, definitely something that would come from his mouth. Shael didn’t fully understand the concept, though he knew that was probably something that heroes did. Helping weaker people was something he saw a lot on the tv, especially with that guy from New York. He helped the male weave through the alleyways he grew quite accustomed to, hopping over an overturned trash can which stank with its contents. The two of them had managed to chase them away, though he did wonder if they would reappear again in the city. That was possible.

”Prolly not. They probably need more money for whatever they want money for…unless it’s not money they’re stealing,” He started off stating something and then was speculating about what they could be looking for. The two were far above his own weight class, so having the help of someone as strong as this guy definitely helped. He found himself lost in his thoughts until the hero questioned if he were one himself. Shael stroked his chin, thinking over if he could even classify as a hero. ”I’m…a hero I guess, though this was my first time,” he explained, and it was pretty much true.

Silus was more the heroic type, and he didn’t find himself really get drawn into the kind of thing like that. ”I’m not too good at this hero thing really. Guess that’s what practice is for,” He looked to the male, realizing he was actually shorter than him though not too bothered by that. Grinning widely with sharp canines, that was followed by a sighed. ”so we chasin them down now? Cause I’m a little hungry,” Shael stated following a sigh, seemingly without shame in this instance.

"As long as you take it upon yourself to do good and justify things with a continuous of helping other instead of benefiting then even though you are just in practice you could call yourself a hero" David said as he tried to encourage the other guy's good deeds. They ran through the alley and was making it free from the scene. As they passed a trash can he got to thinking of what the guy said. Was there really something they were stealing. It would make since why they hit a small place.

He slowed down as they were making their way to the next destination. Sure he was unable to track them so in the mean time they could get lunch. As they turned right there was a sandwich shop that made good rolled sandwiches. He seen the flyer and happened to memorize a map before coming to the city. You like sandwiches? They have a 4.9 star rating on an app i trust. As he walked across the street it looked kind of dead. Hopefully it was not closed.

He walked up to the front door and placed his hand on the push handle and forced his way in. The bell dinged and he caught a glimpse of the time on the wall. It was not closed just not busy at this hour. He walked up to the front counter and heard louder clatter as he could tell someone was washing the dishes. A woman walked from the back and up to the computer.

"Hi how are you two cuties doing? What can i getcha?"
"I will have a roasted ham and turkey sandwich wrap. With just lettuce, mayo, and pickles."
"Alright and what is for your friend?"

As the other guy ordered he took money from his wallet and set two 20 dollar bills on the counter for the both of them and then presumed to take a seat.

Do good and help other people. That sounded like something that Jordan would have told him, nascent half smile that he always had on. Thinking about it that guy never seemed to have negative thoughts going through his head. ”Never called myself a hero before but I guess I could do that…so long as I do the hero stuff too,” Shael stated with a few nods, seeming to take this into account everything he had been told. The question if he liked sandwiches came and he nodded enthusiastically.

”Yeah, I like sandwiches!” He agreed, already imagining a sandwich which was likely nothing like what he would have been getting. Mentions if stars didn’t mean too much but Shael assumed that meant more stars were good. Already he was thinking about what kind of sandwiches they had goin on there, though his mind was quite on the excessive amounts of meat he would have wanted on. His mind was lost to the thoughts of food as both walked through the door, vaguely taking in the scent of food through his nostrils. The earthy scent of vegetables were something that managed to rip him from his thoughts.

The question of what he wanted snapped to him, eyes narrowing as it read over the menu suspended behind her. ”I wanna meatball sub. With….can I get more meatballs on it?” All of this was said with a certain excitement about a sandwich with meatballs.  All she could do was nod to the question, ringing up the order and taking the money before handing them back the proper change in bills and clinking coins.  With that  he stepped back enough for the next person to make their order and allowed his gaze to return to the person he was hanging out with. Following him and sitting opposite him, taking in the sound of the kitchen in the back.

”So you a new hero around here? I watch the tv a loooot but didn’t hear anything about someone with a power like yours, unless that’s cause you aren’t wearin one of those costumes,” On anyone else this might have seemed like an interrogation but Shael had a voice that sounded genuinely curious.

"A meat ball sub with extra meat? This guy did give of a wild type vibe. Maybe his powers have something to do with his personality?" As he thought to himself about the guy and the situation they were in, finding those two would be difficult. For now they would relax and wait until they emerged. He grabbed napkins and his drink from off the table and set it up as if he was bored but yet wanted to show his cleanliness. As the guy sat down he immediately went to talking.

"I am a new hero to almost all parts. I recently.... left home in my search to better the people who live their lives. I do not wear a costume and i feel i never will. I feel casual clothing works a lot better for me." He explains himself possibly trying to better the bonds of his new ally.  He stumbled around with a few things before settling in his seat, but perfect timing.  Their food was being completed. The lady set the tray down and called for the two. David slid his chair back and walked over to the counter grabbing the food with on hand and walking back. He set it down on the table and picked off the sandwich labeled after his order. He grabbed the other paper wrapped up sandwich and handed it over. "Here you go....." He realized he didn't have a name for him.

"But I don't think I got your name. you can call me David." He said as he retaken his seat pulling the chair in under him. He grabbed his sandwich and started unwrapping it taking notice it had already been cut in half for easier consumption. With sandwich in his hands he took his first bite chewing the food with a closed almost proper like chew.

Well the two of them were new to heroism, so that sounded good to him. Meant he wasn’t alone in the whole being new to this things. Shael just wanted to get to know about this person he had worked with for a few minutes which involved ruining an entire street. ”Not really sure I’ll wear one either,”  Shael agreed with a nod, not seeing himself wearing any kind of costume if he took a kind of interest in heroism. It was something to occupy his time but he didn’t know how he felt about fighting people in the streets. Did all of these conflicts cause so much collateral damage? Didn’t seem like that but what did he know?

The food finished pretty quickly and the guy he was sitting with stoodup, returning with the food on one of those plastic looking trays. Not that he did anything stupid like gnaw one to see if that were really the case. Now that would have been insane wouldn’t it? He accepted the sandwich with the same toothy grin he ordinarily wore. He didn’t respond immediately, biting into his sandwich, feeling a bit of sauce dribbling down the side of his mouth and swiping away with a lick. This tasted exactly like he expected.

Half of his sandwich was gone before he actually spoke, swallowing noisily and luckily remembering to wipe away the food from around his mouth with one of those paper napkins. ”Names Shael, nice to meetcha David,” he said after swallowing loudly, giving him the friendliest smile he could give someone. He didn’t really seem to note the other males almost proper way of acting. That just seemed like the proper thing from how his sister acted. ”left home huh? Yeah, don’t live with my parents either.” Sure, he didn’t know where his mom was and his dad lived with uncle Jordan but that didn’t seem to matter.
