Personality: Sera is a cheerful, sarcastic optimist. She always tries to see the good in the situation, or in others. She is against killing, and will always display compassion to the weak and defenseless, be it villains or others. Though occasionally known for being a bit of an airhead, she has the best of intentions, even if she doesn't quite understand the situation or the intentions of those around her. A bit gullible, and very naive with respect to those she trusts. She is fascinated by archaeology and the study of history. She has been thought of as a bit of a nerd in that respect. A free spirit, she speaks her mind when she has something to say, and is often blunt about her perspective, and while she means well, does not always convey her thoughts and emotions in the best manner.

History: Sera grew up in Los Angeles to a pair of wealthy parents. Her father was an archaeologist, well known and successful. His primary study involved ancient human civilization. Her mother, a well respected doctor at a local hospital. Both were brought together by the church for which they attended. Sera was born shortly after they became married, and was raised under a pretty normal set of circumstances. She had friends, was popular, did well in school, and graduated college with a degree in archaeology, following in her father's footsteps as well as joining him on a number of expeditions throughout the world.

A year into an expedition to South America an accident occurred. Her father was caught beneath collapsed rubble and rock. Both legs had been crushed, and a medical evacuation was not possible from their location within the cavern. Their base camp was two days away for someone not crippled, and they became separated from the rest of their group. Things were bleak, and her father was facing a slow, agonizing death. Slowly, after countless hours the girl managed to dig through the rubble to reveal her father's mangled lower body. They would need to be amputated, if they made it back to camp. The man had passed out due to shock, and she sat, knees bent, eyes welling with tears before her broken father. Her hands rested atop him and she prayed. Whether this was a gift bestowed by divine force, or a dormant abnormality of great power she was not sure. A bright light emanated from her hands, and slowly the man before her began to heal damaged bone and tissue. After some time, that which was mangled was no longer noticeably damaged. It was then that she realized she was also able to see under the cover of total darkness, her light having been crushed by the falling rubble earlier.

All was not well however, as while her father rested, her head began to ache with intense pain, followed shortly by the most agonizing, jaw dropping pain she could ever imagine. This combination of head ache and phantom leg pain was enough to completely incapacitate her, rendering her unconscious for four hours. The girl was awoken by her father to complete confusion as to how he was no longer injured. The girl had little answers to provide to him, short of claiming a miracle.

Another year had passed and she found herself walking home from a train station, having visited friends from out of town for the weekend. It was night, and she rarely used her gift of vision unless necessary, given the headaches she suffered from doing so. A criminal attempted to rob her at gun point, forcing her down an alleyway to remove her watch, purse, and jewelry before attempting to run off. In a fit of rage Sera threw her hands forward, in a mock attempt to throw something unimaginable at him, however something happened she hadn't expected...Lightning tore through the air at breathtaking speed, colliding against the man's back, eliciting such an intense scream of pain she could almost hear his soul cry out. As the man fell to the ground, limp, she raced forward and gathered her belongings, checked the man's pulse, and upon confirming he was still alive, called for paramedics. With sirens dancing in the distance, growing ever closer, the girl used her healing power to repair the man's injuries and burns, explaining to the police as they arrived that he had tried to mug her and she had managed to use martial arts to subdue him, before leaving the scene.

 
The Powers and Weaknesses
   

Powers

Power 1: Healing Hands - This girl was bestowed upon a great gift. To heal the wounds, be it mental or physical, of those around her. Considered to be a living "miracle" by those who have witnessed her ability, she has been associated with sainthood among those she has touched. When bestowing the gift upon others, her hands are placed several inches above the subject, wherein a brilliant ray of light is cast from both hands to repair damaged tissue, organs, and cells. The power may be used to repair a wide variety of known disease, broken bones, severed veins and arteries, damaged organs, and failing tissue. It cannot be used to reverse aging or revive the dead.

Power 2: Nightvision - A secondary power associated with her saintly gift, she has enhanced vision in darkness, her eyes having the ability to see twice as well in darkness, though in colors limited to black and white, with a bias towards a whitish spectrum. The time to make this adjustment from standard to night vision takes relatively the same amount of time to adjust as a typical human's pupil to enlarge and shrink during the transition from dark to light.

Power 3: Electric Judgement - Through a series of brief somatic and verbal components, Seraphina is capable of channeling the power of lightning through her body. This power is capable of manifesting itself in several forms, depending on the situation, though can vary from simplistic weapon improvisation such as an electric whip, to the release of an electric storm from her hands. While not impervious to electricity entirely, throughout the time her body is attuned to the element, she is immune to its' effects and can instead use that energy to further fuel her own ability.

Weakness(es)

Weakness 1: Transfer Of Pain - While she is known for the ability to heal the gravest of wounds, a side effect of that gift is the transfer of the subject's pain, though not physical, is transferred in full to Seraphina. A broken bone that is mended, that agony is transferred to her minutes later. A burn victim, the intense sensation of fire on the skin is transferred to her. This pain cannot be subdued, lessened, or restrained by any known means. Those on the brink of death, having been revived, have rendered Seraphina unconscious for several hours immediately after rescue.

Weakness 2: Intensive Migraines - When utilizing her enhanced vision, over time she will begin to experience intense migraines that grow stronger the longer she continues to utilize this vision.

Weakness 3: Electric Discharge - On occasion, seemingly dormant energy is unintentionally discharged through the hands upon touch. Results in the past have ranged from a potent static shock, to a small electric explosion, which had lasting effects upon her own body, scarring portions of her palms and forearms, leaving a number of nerves damaged to the point of the inability to feel those areas to much degree.

RP Mechanics

RP Mechanic(s): Sera has typically bright, green eyes, though when channeling any of her abilities, the irises turn to a pale grey. This is involuntary, and cannot be stopped.
