Down and out in London Empty Down and out in London

Post by Black Odile April 17th 2012, 1:21 pm

The mist began to roll away to reveal a dark port full of crates and deserted machinery. Travelling by barge was the only way that Louisa could have made it to London. She knew that she was being followed and had to use her discretion to escape. It was a freezing November night when she had left her house in Halifax, Yorkshire. She had just run, she could still hear her mother’s screams as she vaulted the stable gate. After that, she had ridden for 2 days till she found an old friend’s house where she could leave Inky (the horse) and caught a train down to the suburbs of London. The rest of her journey was just a blur filled with long, uncomfortable journeys and many encounters with hooded figures. She had to jump onto the barge to escape another capture.

The barge hit the side of the dock with a slam and Louisa had to grab the barrier to avoid being thrown into the dark, icy waters below. She ran her hands over the high edge of the dock to find a foothold and when she had found a suitably strong and dry one she began to climb. Within minutes she had dragged herself over the edge of the dock and ran towards the bright lights of London, dodging traffic on her way. It was only when she reached Soho that she realised that she needed food and some place to stay. Tired and soaked to the skin she sat on a bench and closed her eyes.

Down and out in London Empty Re: Down and out in London

Post by Jeannie Rose October 27th 2014, 8:55 pm

argh silly fog so depressing Jeannie thinks to herself, a job somewhere more tropical would be nice. but first she needed to find a job. That's what brought the ditzy detective out tonight. She wondered aimlessly through the city streets looking for a potential client. She looked around which of this people looked like they might have use of her skills. Looking around, she notices a woman on a bench huh odd place to take a nap.

Something's off about her Jeannie thinks obviously her being out in the rain like this is odd that combined by her sent being quite different from then normal smells around here leads Jeannie to think she must be a lost traveler, she might need help, she could at lest help her find a better place to take a nap, she'll catch a cold out here. She goes over and taps her on the shoulder Miss are you okay, you don't look well. You really shouldn't take naps in the rain you'll catch a cold.
