The Legacy
   


Personality: Vanile’s personality varies wildly at times. When under the guise of a bookstore owner she seems and acts the part of librarian. Quiet, soft spoken, but stern like a librarian if customers get too rowdy. Her attire is that of a professional on and off the job. However this is just her adopted persona.
Vanile’s true nature is that of a playful trickster, albeit one who can turn demonic at the drop of a dime. When in her super hero attire Vanile is clad in colorful cloths and lets her bubbly personality show. While she is fighting villains she’ll often crack jokes as she rains down spells, curses, and occult tools on her opponents. If her ire is raised Vanile can turn sadistic very quickly showing off her demonic heritage. For the most part though she can keep it in check and just have a bit of fun while rounding up the baddies.

History:Vanile being half demon was not born from a happy union. Her mother was a conjurer who made the mistake of attempting to summon a high demon lord and paid the price for her folly with her body once he broke free of the circle. Having barely escaped with her life due to the demon’s whim the unfortunate woman carried the demon’s spawn in her until she gave birth. Instead of disposing of Vanile her mother decided the girl could prove of some use to her later.
Unfortunately despite her parents less than savory attitudes and alignments Vanile, normally, lacked a killer instinct to be molded into what her mother wanted. A tool to use for conquest of magical realms. After several failures to take over territory her mother gave up the idea and went into seclusion after leaving Vanile half trained alone. Still Vanile wasn’t helpless and managed to find a way into the human realm where she donned the guise of a bookstore owner. Acquiring the funds to get the store wasn’t hard due to some gold she had gained during her time training with her mother.
After watching the humans Vanile easily adapted to this new world and after some crooks attempted to mug her she found that fighting crime was a great way to cure boredom. Plus, the praise she earned from the grateful civilians was a lovely boost to her ego. Reveling in her time on earth Vanile runs rampant ,for better or worse, in the human world getting stronger with every battle. Her growing strength may soon attract some unwanted attention from another realm.  


 
The Spell Book
   


Basic Spell 1: Levitate Object- A basic cantrip that allows Umbra to levitate objects up to twenty pounds in weight. The objects can be thrown to deal some damage, but normally this spell is used to scare low level crooks. Duration-As long as Vanile is conscious or holds the power. Cool down. None

Basic Spell 2: Curse of Boils- A low level, but effective curse. Vanile will point her finger, staff, or wand, at an opponent and a dark green ray of energy will shoot at an opponent. If they are struck large painful boils will appear all over their body. While not damaging it is rather painful to move about with boils that threaten to burst at any moment. The curse lasts for four rounds. Cool down: None

Low Spell 1: Curse of Blindness- Another curse from Vanile’s book of spells that is rather nasty. Vanile will raise her hand and spit some magical chant and then clench her hand. An opponent’s eyes will feel as if they are on fire and the sight will be robbed from them for a minimum of one turn depending on endurance rank. Duration: 3 rounds Cool down: 6

Low Spell 2: Arcane Barrage- A low level offensive spell. With a wave of her hand Vanile will unleash a barrage of five arcane bolts that can be controlled to home in on the target. They hit with the force of a strong punch. The bolts can be combined into one large bolt to deliver a more powerful blow that can knock certain opponents off their feet. This spell may be charged and every round it is charge the barrage gets stronger to a max of three rounds so three times its normal strength. If hit an opponent has traces of mana stuck to them. Uncharged duration: Instant Uncharged Cool down: 2 posts. Charging the spell makes the duration 1 round, thus the cool down 2 rounds and etc.

Medium Spell 1: Chains of Mana- Using her hands or another magical conduit Vanile will gather mana in her hand. Once enough power has been gathered a ball of dark purple energy will appear a foot in diameter. She will then fling it at an opponent or group of opponents where upon impact with an enemy of other surface it will explode and chains of magic will latch onto them binding them in place. The blast radius is twenty feet and an enemy is bound for at least one turn. Duration: 5 Turns Cool down: 15

Medium Spell 2: Curse of Malevolent Mana- With a quick chant a cloud of arcane energy will appear over an opponent. It will then begin to pour mana down onto an opponent burning them like acid for as long as they remain under the cloud. The cloud is twenty feet wide and may be moved by Vanile as long as she can maintain concentration on it. Being hit with the mana leaves traces that can be used by other spells. Duration: 6 rounds Cool down 18

High Spell 1: Loving Embrace-A powerful healing spell. When activated a spirit of mana in the shape of an angel wraps around a target and begins to heal their wounds. The spirit can guard against minor attacks such as low caliber bullets, but will be dispersed by powerful attacks. Duration: 2 rounds Cool down: 8 rounds

High Spell 2: Retribution Shield-With but a thought Vanile may activate a powerful shield that can deflect powerful attacks back at an opponent. For example if an opponent shoots a lightning bolt at her she may reflect it back at them to damage them instead. The same thing may happen with a physical blow. The shield will produce a projection of mana in the form of what struck it and strike back at an opponent. The shield blocks only abilities of equal rank or lower and Vanile may move with the shield active and fire spells through it without disrupting it. Duration: 10 rounds Cool Down: 40 rounds

Looks pretty good now but as for Cool downs however long the spells or effects last is how long the cool down must also be.
