Physical Appearance:

Archer is a tall and slender man with a somewhat pale complexion from his extended time indoors and away from people. He is still attractive but he is not as attractive as he once was but he is still more than appealing to many women and can still flash a smile that would melt a ladies heart. His eyes a dark brown and are normally hidden behind his sunglasses, which are now used to hide the bags under them. Always dressing in a somewhat casual manner Archer is not typically the kind of person that would be picked out of a crowd, being attractive but not overly so has it benefit.

Personality:

On the surface Archer seems like a normal and outgoing person that enjoys life and everything it has to offer. When in front of people he can be a good person to hang out with and will be more than willing to get to know almost anyone that approaches him. This is only occasionally slipped and he rarely lets his true self be seen. This is only compounded whenever he goes into a slump he will become distant and almost completely unresponsive to anything outside his own mind. This is due to the loss of his family which he heavily blames on himself.

Thought Archer is attractive he almost never does anything to show off this fact, believing that the person he loved and always will love is dead. He is of firm mind that he will live the rest of his life alone and without another person to love. While he is prepared to live his life alone he does see women as anyone else would, as beautiful creatures, though he refuses to feel anything for them and declines himself any feelings he has for them. This carries through to many levels of Archer’s life as he at times has more strained relations with women due to his choice towards them.

Archer fights evil and injustice for two reasons. The first is because he really does want to help people from being taken advantage of or even hurt because of the cruelty of disgusting and twisted individuals. The second is because it raises the chances of him being killed once and for all. Archer is in fact very suicidal but does not have the ability to take his own life, due to his healing factor, and puts himself in the line of danger than no other reason, at times, than his desire to end it all.

History:

Archer was born to an average family, having a father, mother, and one brother. His mother however died giving birth to the younger of the two, Taylor, their father blaming the still newborn baby completely for her death. Archer was forced to take care of his brother from an early age since their father refused to even look at the young boy. This came with the penalty of Archer being beaten each night for defying his father by helping his brother, though the wounds seemed to heal overnight the beatings always hurt just as bad the next day. Things remained like that until Taylor’s fifth birthday, where their father began to beat him directly.

Wanting to protect his younger brother Archer would often offer to be the substitute for these horrendous beatings, which would only work when their father was well past the point of understanding but that was more often than not. It was during one of these sessions, while Arnold was mostly sober, that their father began to get more violent than normal with Taylor. Archer tried to intercept and shield his younger brother from the blows but a particularly nasty strike to the head knocked him unconscious and when he came to he saw his father standing over the body if his brother.

Seeing his brother’s lifeless corpse sent Archer into a rage where all he felt he could do was lash out against the person that had made him so angry, his father. He threw punch after punch at his father and though older man tried to block and fight back it was no use. His son was a natural. The body of Archer’s father lay on the ground, almost exactly like the other one, but gurgled for breath through his blood filled mouth. A neighbor or someone, Archer cannot remember anymore, must have called the police. They took Archer away to a Juvenile Corrections Center.

Some years later, Archer was put into a foster family but the boy did not seem ready to accept anyone as his family and turned away from the accommodating family. It did not take the near broken boy long to fall in with the wrong crowd at his new school. For one year Archer pushed his family away until he met someone, a girl that wanted to help him. She was kind to the boy, in a way no one else ever was, and patient, more so than the boy thought was possible.

Though the change was not overnight the girl, Marie Atone, helped him get back on the right track. He began to well in school again, for the first time in almost three years, and quickly began to impress his teacher. Upon graduating from high school, he went to the local community college, choosing it because his girlfriend, the same Marie, wanted to stay close to home, and he began to sail through classes there as well. It looked like everything was going well until the unexpected happened and Marie got pregnant. Staying in college the rest of the semester, Marie did not enroll for the next, getting too far along in her pregnancy to be able to go to class easily.

Wanting to take this opportunity head on, Archer proposed to Marie and began to settle down a little. After getting his bachelor’s degree Archer, the new husband and father, got a job at a company as a manager, having impressed everyone at the company with his brilliant mind. Spending his days working and his nights helping around his home, Archer began to feel as though his life was slipping by and that there were opportunities he was missing out on. This all built up to the point where he finally set out to do something he had always wanted to do. He became a superhero.

Archer took up the name Rebel and began to fight any type of evil he could find, but never killed a single person, hoping that he could stop the pain he and his brother had felt so long ago from becoming the pain of someone else too. For a while things went great, he stopped a few crimes here and there but made one fatal mistake, becoming the target of a mob boss.

One day when Archer came home from a long day at work, he opened the door to see his wife and son, who was almost five at the time, tied up on the floor. Rushing forward to help them he failed to notice the three large men swarming around him to apprehend him, the men took archer and tied him to a chair in the living room, so he had to look at his family on the ground in front of him. A man, Luigi Greek, an Italian hit man, walked out of the kitchen carrying a large knife. The Italian knelt down to Archer and began to tell him all about the man he had angered and why this had been brought upon him. Luigi told two of the large men to hold the head of Archer so he would have to watch what was done to them. Once done the Italian did not talk he simply lifted his gun and shot the man tied to the chair clean through the head, the still warm flesh of his family being the last thing he saw before everything went dark.

It seemed however that life was not done with Archer at that moment as it was then that his power kicked into overdrive, healing the hole inside his head. The screams of his family played over and over in Archer’s mind driving him almost to the brink. All Archer wanted was for everything to be over, if not to stop the screams but then to be with his family wherever in the afterlife. Attempting to take his life again and again ended with the same result, though he would pass out for a while he would always eventually get back up, good as new.

Falling into a deep depression at the loss of his family, and being unable to end it, Archer began to turn to the one thing that would numb the pain, alcohol. Drunk he felt no emotion, not hatred towards the people that took his family from him, not angry at his family for not doing something to better warn him of the intruders, and not himself for not being able to save the people that mattered most him. Everything just seemed to run together for long periods of time eventually waking up sober enough to buy more alcohol. It was one of these days that Archer saw something that would forever change his life.

A man was being robbed in the middle of the street without so much as a single person stepping in to help him despite his cries. Archer could not believe how people would blindly let a fellow human being be treated like that and decided to step in if for no other reason than to prevent pain like he felt. Fighting the man, who was very easy given Archer’s knack for hand to hand combat, he helped the man and for the first time in what felt forever Archer was happy; happy to have saved someone just like he used to so long ago.

Archer took his old name back up and began to fight crime like he once had as The Rebel. Though he no longer wore the costume from then because he felt it was useless since he had no loved ones to protect with a mask, not that it had really done him any good the first time. Though he is still not completely well, Archer still suffers from Manic Depression and when alone in his small apartment begins to drink to numb the pain of being alone again. These nights are not often without him attempting to kill himself, though nothing he has tried so far has ended everything forever.

Powers and Abilities

Powers:

Immortality – Archer believes himself to be immortal and cannot be killed by any conventional means he has tried so far. Though it has not yet been seen if age will be what finally does Archer in he is impossible to be killed permanently from any outside forces. He will however when sustaining enough injury that his body cannot keep up will shut down and appear to be dead. (This is immortality in the sense that he cannot be directly killed and he still ages at a normal rate.)
Healing Factor – This is probably Archer’s most used and least appreciated power he has, as it seems to be the power that prevents him from ever being permanently killed. Almost all wounds that Archer suffers from are healed and gone in a matter of minutes making it to where he can keep fighting for long periods of time and not have to worry too much about bodily harm or exhaustion. This can be useful in drawn out fights as he can continue to fight for longer than the average human.
Superhuman Intelligence – Archer in most cases does not seem like much of a thinker but he is far more intelligent than he initially lets on. Being as smart as Archer is people tend to want him to do things like fix their appliances but for the most part he just wants to be left alone so he covers his intelligence so that people will not either expect too much from him or think he is trying to rub how smart he is in their face.
Above Average Stamina – His healing factor extends itself partially to his muscles and prevents him from tiring as fast as the average man. Though Archer can be pushed past the limit, which is not that hard a thing to do, he can run at full speed for at length a mile without feeling any draining effects or cramps in his body. (This is just to say he does not have to stretch before hand or really prepare for long and drawn out fights or any athletic type event.)

Abilities

Natural Fighting Aptitude – Archer does not have nearly as much training as would be expected of him given his level of ability while fighting. People typically assume he has be formally trained most of his life even though he did not actively begin fighting until he was sent away to juvy when he was about twelve. Though he has gained more focused training in his years after his release from juvy to both focus his already amazing talent and to give him a nondestructive way to release his anger.

Archer Roland was born on July 13th.
Only has one surviving blood relative and that is his father who was given life in prison without parole due to the first degree murder of his son, and Archer’s brother.
Archer had an uncle but he was killed in a car accident while driving drunk.
There is a long history of alcohol abuse in the Roland family beginning with the first Roland to land in America, from Ireland.
Archer’s attempts at suicide include; slit wrist, hanging, blood draining, drowning, overdose, alcohol poisoning, walking into traffic, jumping from buildings, burning himself alive, throwing himself into the animal pits at zoos, and dismemberment.
As a career Archer is a freelance photographer and gets to go to places far and wide to take pictures of obscure things. He specializes in mostly superhero photos, his bosses do not ask too many questions about why that is.

Is his EP just for the healing factor? What about his Immortality?

The EP to his healing factor also explains his 'immortality' since he will not neither live forever or be ageless it acts more as flavor text since it is pretty much a power that every person on the site has since they cannot die without permission. The bit about immortality is just another way of me explaining that Archer can look like he died but still really be alive.
