Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny] Empty Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny]

Post by Champion on January 14th 2016, 8:49 pm

It was a misty morning in Las Angeles, a city Ryan had only been to once before but one that made an impression upon him the moment he had first been there. Small grey eyes, bright with curiosity looked out from the lofty penthouse of his father who was here on some kind of business. What that business was he didn't know, but it probably had something to do with that company he ran or so his brother told him anyway. Dressed for the cold weather, Ryan was in a pair of slightly baggy blue jeans, with a thick dark blue jacket and a plain white t-shirt underneath that. His dirty blond hair was in a slight mess, though that was easily reconciled once he forced it down with some telekinetic pressure. There was so much potential within the city below him, so many people living their lives. Pressing his hands against the glass, he leaned forward as if that would somehow get him a better look.

"Is that a bird?" He muttered to himself, eyes snapping to what appeared to be a pigeon flying right past the window at the speed which they usually flew. He remembered reading about one in a book somewhere, but the name of the book was one that was lost upon him. Either he hadn't bothered to read that book or maybe he didn't care enough to put the name of it in his supposedly infallible memory. The sound of a door could be heard closing behind him, Ryan quickly turning around to see one of his elder siblings walking into the room, Luke if he remembered their name. They were slightly taller than him, with hair a lighter color of hair and a sort of levity about them. It was that which made them one of his favorite siblings, that and they were one of them that actually  took an interest in interacting with him. "Um..hi..do you know where Aaron is?"

"I dunno, probably doing whatever that thing is Alpha wanted him to do. " They responded with a shrug, before plopping down on one of the couches in the living room. He remembered Ellen having come in not so long ago, though she looked pretty mad compared to her usual self. Something about that was off, but then again it wasn't anything that he thought too hard on. There was something he wanted to find out about however, and that was who that Danny person she was thinking about before breaking off from his hive mind. They sounded pretty impressive if they could get his aunt to act like that, or maybe they were just someone she didn't like. There was a mention of a location, something about a facility or whatever. It had something to do likely with a device that Alpha wanted, but what that thing was he could only assume. The location itself was somewhere in Las Angeles, and that was all he could really go on.

The only hard part was getting there on foot, since he couldn't really do anything like those metahumans that could run really fast. Going out the front entrance however would have been a no go, so he decided that he would just go out through the window. Within a matter of a minute he landed on the sidewalk, burying his hands into the pockets of his jacket while thinking over the location that had been totally not picked from someone's mind. Digging the small cellphone out of his pocket, he made use of a little GPS application, which lead to him just walking along the sidewalk with eyes glued to his phone, only occasionally turning from it to make sure he didn't run into anything. He wasn't exactly too far away from the location, so that should make finding them not impossible.

Meanwhile that one guy with the fire powers with beginning their job with a certain girl with magical bracelet powers. The bracelet lantern, because a turquoise lantern just doesn't have the same flare. Should  Danny open the files on the flash drive, she would find the name of the location as well as a few other things. Maps of the compound they would be breaking into, as well as what appeared to be a few bits of information to help her know what she was doing exactly. Their goal was a company by the names of Excelsior Inc, a rather successful company with its HQ settled in LA of all places. There was something that Alpha wanted, and it was within the  research division. The two that would be working on stealing said device would be riding in a vehicle provided for them, though Aaron himself found actually saying something nearly impossible. It might have been the fact he was expecting Danny to punch himself in the face should he actually say anything, so he kept quiet until

Soon enough they would stop. "Well here we are. Tackily named incorporated, with stuff that we should steal." Aaron said, tapping lightly on his knees rhythmically. Should things be going as planned, there chance to act would be within a few minutes.

Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny] Empty Re: Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny]

Post by Danny The Sphinx on January 14th 2016, 10:15 pm

"I'm going to set some ground rules-" Danny gripped the wheel of the rental car as she looked into the rear view mirror to get a god look at Aaron. When they first received the car, Danny stared at Aaron, telling him only Tsukimi could ride shotgun with her and he should be glad he was not riding in the trunk. "You don't get to talk. You lost that privilege when you made it so Suzy didn't get to talk. The only time I want to hear you talk is when it is absolutely necessary for me getting Suzy back. And, even then, you need to think over whether you should talk or not."

The distance between their route and the destination continued to close. "Suzy was good at stuff and you aren't so this will be more difficult. We just need to ste- borrow some stuff for Alpha dick. I don't know what I need you for, but whatever it is I'll figure it out on my own." The plan involved Danny making her way into the business dressed as an intern and Aaron going undercover as a janitor. Danny insisted Aaron would not know how to function properly in a business setting. Danny put the car into park. "Once you get into the research department, take pictures of the device we need to steal and text them to me. If you ever text me again, I will find you, and I will kill you."

Danny brushed off her fitted suit jacket and put it on as she stepped out of the car. She wore a black pencil skirt down to her knees and kept her hair pulled back out of her eyes. She just needed to know where the device was, after that she could get Tsukimi back.

Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny] Empty Re: Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny]

Post by Champion on January 16th 2016, 6:52 pm

If Danny didn't want to deal with Aaron talking, he could do a little shutting up. Not that it was his usual nature to be quiet, but then again he also enjoyed not being punched in the face when his nose was still sore from the last hit. The goal of their mission however was a simple one, and that came in the form of them stealing what looked to be some kind of transmitter device if the schematics Alpha had managed to acquire were anything to go on. Granted they were more rough sketch than anything else, just enough that he could know what he was looking for. his role within all of this was acting as a janitor, something that no one would really give a second glance towards. "Take pictures and send them to you, got it." He said with a nod, doing as little talking as he could to avoid facing the wrath of an angry Danny.

Making sure his janitor get up was all in order, he would not before letting Danny get down to her first day as a fake intern. Not that anyone was expecting it to go beyond that much, so he wasn't expecting anything to go flawlessly. Once everything was done, he would step into the building without anyone really giving him a second glance as he slipped through the building and likely Danny would play the part of her first day. This would involve meeting with a rather cheery looking female standing behind the main desk. Which was surprising considering that...well secretaries were not usually known for their pleasant attitudes. "So you must be the new intern." She said in a strangely chipper tone, sorting through some files before producing one that looked to be for Danny. "Well come with me, we have a few things to do, orientation and important things like that."

While that was being done, Aaron was busy trying to search for the lab that unknown device was being kept in.

Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny] Empty Re: Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny]

Post by Danny The Sphinx on January 16th 2016, 9:56 pm

"No!" Danny shot a finger in Aaron's face. "You don't talk! You take pictures!" A few steps separated the two before Danny turned back around. "And you owe Suzy a sweater! She has ugly tastes, but she'll tell you what she wants." The building rose up to a stumped three stories with the top floor looking like nothing more than roof access. If this building kept any secrets, they would most likely be found underground or maybe in the middle of the building.

The annoyance around Danny quickly changed into her new persona as a very happy and opportunistic intern. "Oh my god! It's so great to meet you! I'm so happy to be here!" She grabbed a packet and held it to her lap as she leaned over in happiness. "Orientation! No way! Let's go!" If Aaron still happened to be in the room, Danny would shoot him a glare to let him know even after he could talk again, he could never talk about how she spoke as an intern. The name tag had Danny's picture but the name read as 'Joy Pleasanton'. Who wouldn't love to meet her.

Danny descended down the hall, keeping her eyes and ears open for anything to expedite the process of accomplishing this mission.

Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny] Empty Re: Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny]

Yeesh, this chicks is just intense. Aaron thought to himself as he went about doing covert janitor things.meanwhile Joy Pleasanton would go about her smiling interview with an equally unnerving smile.

"Come right this way Ms.Pleasanton." She said with a smile that didn't waver, while leading her to another room. Aaron shuddered slightly from the glare alone, but then again he could quite tell what she was hoping he didn't do. While she would keep attention off of him, he could get started on his little infiltration job. As Danny was lead down the hall, some rather conspicuous looking men dressed in vaguely lab looking coats were talking about something. A device that they had been working on for quite some time, though they shut up rather quickly upon seeing Danny, or rather Joy Pleasanton.

So this is the lab? He thought to himself with a smirk, thinking over the ways that he could sneak into it and take some pictures. The place itself didn't have too many people in it, there was enough of a window that he could make his move. Quickly slipping his phone out, he snapped a picture through one of the windows of a small device settled upon one of the tables.

This was supposedly the thing they were going to steal.

Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny] Empty Re: Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny]

Post by Danny The Sphinx on January 20th 2016, 11:10 pm

Opportunity would not wait, and neither would Joy Pleasanton. Danny knew as soon as she got the pictures everything would need to wait. "Oh my gawd, a coffee machine! Is that for everyone!"

"Oh, no, no. Only important people get coffee. You can put up a picture of your family. After six months and no write ups."

Danny waited til the secretary turned around to let the sour look overtake her face. "Yay!" The only response Danny could manage. A rolling stand hosted a television on top of it with an out dated DVD player attached to it. "No way! A video!"

"Yeah, it tells you all about what you'll be doing as an intern here."

"Wow!" The chairs provided to the room looked about as comfortable as a sex talk with your parents after a child catches his parents 'love wrestling' but it would be better than standing. Well, standing might be more comfortable, but it would draw less attention. A vibration in the pocket of her jacket almost wiped the smile right off of Joy Pleasanton's face.

The device looked easy enough to get. Or at least Danny assumed it would be. "Okay, we're going to get started with the video, but before we get started are their any questions?"

"Just one. Do you have duct tape and a closet nearby?" Danny took her hand down, brushed her bracelet, and watched the confused face of the secretary change.

Danny walked out of the orientation room with the secretaries access badge and a much more relaxed demeanor. Dear Aaron, never text me again. Ever. I'm going to steal that device now. Lose this number and look into changing everything about yourself. The keycard got Danny into the first level of rooms she needed, but failed to open the second door. "I hope I don't need Zeta's help to get in there."

Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny] Empty Re: Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny]

Post by Champion on January 27th 2016, 8:11 pm

Now that he had sent the image to Danny, well now that meant Aaron could do his own thing. Well, the thing that Alpha had given him personally to do, something a little more evil than Danny would be doing at any rate. Not that he cared about keeping her integrity from completely collapsing, but it was more a problem of the fact that she likely would not do it anyway. Well there was that, and the fact that Alpha was not exactly the most trusting person in the first place. Feeling over a small drive within his right pants pocket, Aaron mentally tried to recall  where the main server room was. As advanced as this place was, well they did some things absolutely wrong. Even if the computer he wanted to access likely had impressive firewalls, Alpha was pretty damn good when it came to doing things. Mix in a technopath, well he could possibly break through anything.

That was when he became vaguely aware of something, a mind at the edge of his awareness. Ryan...is that you? He said, wondering if that mental connection wasn't just all imagined.

Yeah, I thought I would see what dad was up to. So what are you up to? He asked through that mental connection, making Zeta actually audibly sigh. He had hoped that the younger male wasn't anywhere close, but unfortunately....he had managed to weasel his way through the building via the impractically large ventilation system. Squeezing through one of the large vents, and landing with a silent thump on the floor, Ryan smoothed out his hair before...well finding himself looking at Danny herself. "You don't need Zeta's help to get where?" He asked burying his hands into his pockets.

Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny] Empty Re: Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny]

Post by Danny The Sphinx on January 27th 2016, 10:05 pm

Danny's wish came true. Kind of. "Um?" A little kid popped out, possibly the kid of one of the workers around here, but he took an interest in Danny. "Oh, hi there." Danny leaned down to get at eye level with Ryan. "I was just wondering if I would need the janitor to unlock this door for me, but then I remembered I don't want to pull the janitor away from his life full of bad decisions and mistakes. He's a very sad, sad man. So, does your mom work here or something? Maybe your dad? Or, your other mom?"

The sooner she could get in and take care of business, the better, but keeping a little kid with her when conducting something of this shady nature would best be avoided. The swipe of her stolen card did not ring through. Going back and asking if another way into the room existed with the secretary would certainly cause an awkward conversation to ensue. "Does your mom- or whatever, have a card that can unlock this door?"

Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny] Empty Re: Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny]

Post by Alpha on January 27th 2016, 10:30 pm

The female appeared to be surprised by his sudden appearance, but then again not as if people just jumped out of vents. So he could understand her surprise, even if he didn't even know who she was. That was when his eyes fell upon the name tag which read Joy Pleasanton, which sounded pretty nice. Miss Joy continued to talk about Zeta, though her opinion of him was rather low if he could discern it. "Nah, my dad doesn't work here. He works at some other company." Which was true, even though technically he owned it more than anything else. It also didn't feel like who his parents were mattered to the woman, so he kept that hidden. Especially since she turned attention towards a door that redused to open, and it looked pretty important. "Nope, but I can open it for ya." Resting the palm of his hand on the lock, a wave of blue energy fell over the lock, causing it to rapidly freeze before crumbling away.

That made opening the door as easy as just giving it a small push. "There ya go miss." He said, burying his hands into his pockets. "So what're you looking for?" He then asked, walking into the lab beyond the door as his mind quickly snapped towards taking in everything. Not like someone with the name Joy Pleasanton would be any danger to him.

Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny] Empty Re: Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny]

Post by Danny The Sphinx on January 27th 2016, 11:21 pm

Danny got more than she bargained for, but did not know if she would ultimately pay a price, since very few of the Alphabet soup lied very well. When they were dicks, they acted like dicks, and most of the younger ones typically did not exhibit strong signs of evil intentions. "I'm guessing you're- a person who lives with Travis." She followed Ryan into the treasure room for her ultimate goal. "We're going to take this device. Bad people here; your dad wants it; I'm not really stealing it, but- um, yeah we're stealing this thing."

None of the windows near the room looked like they would just fit this device through them. In fact, Danny never actually gave a real plan as to how to get the device out to the car. or how they would fit it in the small rental car. "Since we're doing something kinda shady, I'll let you in on a secret. Zeta never came up with a plan for this, so this lack of planning is all really his fault. We're going to try to find a truck to get this thing out in before anyone gets suspicious. And since I haven't heard from Zeta in about five minutes, I assume he's doing something suspicious. I have half a mind to call the cops on him and let that serve as a distraction, but again, I'm already doing one thing shady thing, so I can't double down on it."

Then Danny thought of how the device would ultimately get out of the building. "We might need to double down on shady. Do you know how to drive a Fed-Ex truck?"

Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny] Empty Re: Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny]

Post by Champion on January 28th 2016, 5:42 am

"I live with him." Ryan said with a nod, not really the type to lie about anything. That meant the joy person knew his dad for some reason, though a lot of people seemed to know about him. Might have had something to do with the celebrity thing. "Oh, so this is the stuff he wanted to do." He whispered to himself, now up to speed on what their reason for breaking into a building like this was in the first place. It only took a quick scan of the room to get an idea of what they were dealing with, which was technology on a similar scale to the stuff that their little underground place had. While Danny likely would look over the device she was supposed to steal, well Ryan gravitated more towards a small computer that had been lazily left logged in.

Ryan, you're not supposed to be here. Alpha's going to kill me if he finds out I let you in here. Zeta spoke to him through the mental link.

"Okay." Ryan said to himself, though that only ended up with the mental connection being quickly severed. "Maybe they have some kind of...getaway van ready or something. Sounds like something he would do." He offered, telekinetically typing through the laptop to see what juicy information they had. Nothing really leapt out to him, aside from the stuff that one would expect. They were working on some pretty neat stuff, though something told him that was not the only reason that his dad wanted to dig through here. That was when something happened, mostly the sound of an alarm ringing. "Huh, that's not supposed to happen." He whispered before looking to see a single camera focused upon him and Danny.

"Ummm...Miss Joy. How about I lift the thing and you lead us out of here?" Lifting his hood in the hopes that it would cover his face better, Ryan turned towards Danny. "Can you do that?"

Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny] Empty Re: Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny]

Post by Danny The Sphinx on January 29th 2016, 2:39 am

One mystery down, but it did not make things all nice and peachy just yet. Keeping an escape vehicle did sound like something Alpha would put into action, but letting her know would also seem like- well, no, he would probably tell Zeta, and let him relay it to Danny later. "I should probably call Zeta and see if he has anything to do with this-" The camera said no to the observant Danny. "I should probably- wait, don't you guys all talk to each other? Tell him to get his crap and meet us at the van. Oh, and find out where the van is. And don't call me Joy; it's Danny."

The kid would push the device. Danny would do everything else. Every. Little. Thing. Whenever a locked door stood in her way, a turquoise bar would form between the doors, cracking the locking mechanism under the pressure of the expanding construct. "It's not like the alarms are going to ring louder or anything." A quarterstaff came out of Danny's hand granting her a weapon in case of any attack. Even though Danny still kept a good amount of awareness, she would still take advantage of taking a swing at Zeta under the pretense of 'being surprised' by a 'foe'. And it would feel good.

Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny] Empty Re: Punched in the face, and you're to blame [Danny]

Post by Alpha on February 3rd 2016, 1:23 pm

Now that they were dealing with potential security trying to detain them, Ryan personally wanted to get out of there before anything negative happened. Well, such as them being apprehended which would have been rather terrible. Nodding to the whole statement about calling her Danny, he quickly sent a mental message to Zeta who was easy enough to connect to. Get your stuff, things are going bad. Well they got that pretty quickly, though he could feel the annoyance within their mental connection.

Alright little guy, I'll meet you guys out there in a few minutes. They responded as Ryan turned towards the thing they were supposed to be stealing. All it took was lifting the heavy thing with some magical (not actually magical telekinesis, lifting it from the ground and making it much easier to move around. If he knew anything about anything, they would need to move pretty quickly if they wanted to reach said getaway van. Not as if his dad would do something stupid like not actually having a getaway van ready.

There was a moment of him wondering what Zeta was doing, but it was likely they were doing something important. Regardless they were trying to get out of here, going through the halls as Zeta would eventually meet up with them. That within itself ended up with him taking a hit from one of Danny's energy construct, resulting in his nose being broken once again as he was knocked on his rear end. While complain was something that he could do, time was not exactly something that they had on their side. "ya know, I feel like this should have been a lot harder than it was." Zeta noted with nose put back into place.

"Our get away should be somewhere out here." He said leading them along to what looked to be a back exit, leading them to a small lot behind the building. As they expected, there was said van that they would be looking for. "Huh, so I was right."

"I think we've pretty much got this covered. The only evil thing lingering around here is currently giving himself a check up on whether or not he is now immune to concussions." A helping hand would be nice, but Danny kept it to herself. Zeta could stand up on his own. Maybe. "Now we just need to get this loaded up, and then we're home free." Her delinquent partner checked his nose instead of his brain, confirming Danny's suspicions. "It was a little easy, but your little friend here took care of every problem I ran into."

Even though the little guy might have the skills to make things levitate, Danny knew she should be the one driving them away from the scene of this crime. "He can ride shotgun. You can ride in the back with the stuff. Make sure it doesn't break and remember, you aren't important at all, so use your body to cushion any impact. I need to get my friend back."

Danny slid in the driver's seat and pressed her hand next to the ignition. Turquoise energy filled the key slot like a mold. One turn of the key and the engine roared into action. She waited for Beta to get strapped in and put the van into action.

"Yeah, I got knocked into unconsciousness so much...just sorta got over it." Zeta quipped, massaging his nose while looking down to Ryan offered him a wave when mentioned by Danny. Danny was right in driving, as Ryan had no idea how to do that, but his crashing skills were excellent. So the three were making their escape attempt. Sliding the large metallica object into the back of the van, Zeta stepped into the back while Ryan took his seat  in shotgun. Strapping in like a responsible test tube baby, they could do their get away.

"Cool." He said in response to Danny's little construct trick. Zeta poked his head through a little opening from the back of the van.

"I wonder if this thing has GPS." He muttered, before his eyes fell upon...a GPS. Well Alpha had thought of everything, as all he had to do was turn the thing on and set the destination. "Alright, that's done." Now that his part of the job was done, Aaron popped back into the back and fiddled with his phone. From there they would need to find the next creep warehouse to meet with Alpha at.
