In LA, there is an old shutdown apartment complex. The landing has rotten floor boards with an old desk, dusty computer, and empty room key holder. The basement door is closed, but in the basement lies old boxes, long forgotten and lost, its also very dank and dreary besides dark (the entire place was dark but it was pitch dark with out a speck of light in the basement).

The Building went three stories high, each apartment (10 per floor) was a one room kitchen/bedroom/living area and most were run down, some of them were missing the floors. But at the top was a perfect room, not used or rotten away by other things and in this one was a desk. An ordinary desk, but it had a very special file related to a special some one. Now this special someone is a longways away but it still important to some people.

Now in one of the boxes was a special suit, and perhaps that night you saw what people call a "will o' wisp" fly into the dreary building, down to the basement, and into the box. This is where the fun begins, and where the suit awakens.

Its a Chiller night! Empty Re: Its a Chiller night!

Post by Proarden (Gravity Man) November 15th 2015, 11:41 pm

Drip.... Drop...

Drip.... Drop...

The sound wasn't going away anytime soon. Darkness was the only thing he had known for such a long time. But now there were shimmers of purple and maroon, glistening with an almost radiant flash as a small droplet of the energy splashed into a puddle, causing a small surge. No matter how hard he tried... he couldn't escape it. He would never truly be in the dark. Never truly find peace. There were gravitational forces all around him. From water to his own mass. He could dampen this to a near darkness...but it was only to muffle, never to silence. This power was too much a part of him. This power infused in him. A blessing. A curse. A weapon....

Drip.... Drop...

Indeed a weapon. But not THEIR weapon. Not any longer. What they did to him was unforgivable. To turn around and force this life upon a child. Then to turn around and call him heartless. To weave a web of lies and play him off as just another metahuman miscreant that skulked his way out of the shadows. To cover up all traces, all involvement. To blame him and call him a monster. Tell me, is that anyway to live life? To be taken and turned into a weapon then when you finally flee, when you reach freedom, to be labeled a monster? A monster...

Drip.... Drop...

A monster. Is that all I am? To them maybe. But what else did they expect? That's what they made me.

Drip- With a flick of my finger, I silenced water. On a whim, the puddle now floats through the air. Sure, I can't see it. But I feel it. In a way, it's as if it were a sight in its own way. The feeling is so...strange. Even growing up with it, it still feels as foreign to me now as it did when I was five. My eyes are open, cast to the boots on the ground as I sit upon the crate in this old run down house.

Unrelaxing as ever. The thought crossed my mind as a brief moment of hesitation kept my senses in check. I loathed allowing my senses to spring out from this meditation. It was truly blinding...says the blind man. In an instant the purple maroon hues dance as a pulse and immediately there is a blinding white light projected directly to my brain. Ripples and figures from the floor above me quite prominent and defined as the whites faded and the figures were made clear. Everything around me clear...though the throbbing sensation in my cranium certainly made me pay for my little reprieve.

I feel my head lift slightly out of reflex as the hulking monstrosity pads lightly up to my face, breathing heavily as it lets out a gentle growl. The figure to me was that of a monstrous purple being, humanoid in shape with definite deformations as ribs shot from it's rib cage and metal scraps dangled from it's fur covered body. The creature let out a low growl as it's warm breath wisped through my hood. Without fear. I need to remember that ever single time I reach out to him. The moment he feels my fear is the moment he'll tear me to shreds. Well... the moment he'll try.

"I assume that means they need me." I said with a heavy sigh, reaching out and roughly pawing the creature on the head. Despite it's horrible nature and tendencies it was indeed a very useful ally. "Thank you, Poltergeist." I say before standing up and walking past. For a moment I almost thought he wasn't going to let me past. For a moment I almost thought he was going to attack me. But even mongrels such as him know better than to cross me. The fact I brought him in from that wretched facility is testimony of my mercy...and his usefulness.

Soon I came to miss the sound of the creaking steps as Poltergeist leapt to the ceiling, using his claws to scale the ceiling and quickly brush past me, holes appearing in the ceiling for unknown reasons. Well, obviously I know. I wonder just how terrifying Poltergeist really is to some people. Claw marks made by something you can't see or touch... though truthfully I envy them at times. The beast isn't any less horrifying when you can actually see him either. But even as I muse this I note him perching on the old dining room table like spider-man, his tail dangling as it lets out a little chatter, watching two of my generals argue semantics.

"No I'm telling you there's no way they'd be this sloppy. They literally JUST lead this huge arrival on the surface and then vanished into thin air...and no one questions a thing. Scare-tactic or not it's just more proof that these guys don't dick around. This "file" your contact tipped you off on isn't gonna take us anywhere we wanna go." The ever snide voice whipped through the air. My hot headed general snapped. Of course he would be arguing with Gray. The two were as different as night and day.

"It doesn't matter. What matters is that someone is doing something LIKE what The Agency was doing. We can't let it go on! I don't thi- HEY! H-Hey Boss. Uhm, maybe now that you're here we can finally put an end to this." Gray asked, the stammer of terror in his voice every time I walk into a room is quite literally the most refreshing thing I've heard all day. Of course it's cut off by the incessant yammering of a childish hot-head. "Look, I gotta level with you. There's some company in this city that Xerox says may be doing things similar to what The Agency did to you. But he refuses to tell me who his source is and honestly it doesn't make any sense. It's not really worth your time boss." He honestly lost me when he said that Gray had a "Source". Since when did this timid little shit have sources? Are you trying to tell me that Gray actually has resources that are useful!?

"First of all, I'm going to have a long conversation about you're sudden accumulation of "Sources" but before that happens I need you to get ready. We're following this source." I ordered. Of course Gray was all too happy, if not a little nervous. As he should be. Inferno, on the other hand looked rather shocked.

"A-are you kidding me? Seriously...We're going to-break into a reputable company. And when Gray's source proved to be totally incompetent, which it likely will, we hold the place hostage and demand a ransom. Inferno, I want you and Ink to assemble some of the bravo outfit and arm a robbery on twenty third street's bank. It doesn't matter if you steal anything, money would be nice but honestly you're just a diversion. Xerox, you and Poltergeist are to meet me in the sewers underneath this facility in exactly one hour." I said, cutting off my other general to remind him who the evil genius was in this outfit. There was a reason I run the show. Seemingly defeated Inferno trotted off mumbling under his breath, and Gray had begun to fidget.

"Poltergeist. If he's not on time... Feel free to turn his arm into a chew toy." I said with a slight chuckle, a rather interesting image of an armless Xerox filling my mind as we made my own way. Preparation was key, and I'd not be fooled into a trap such as this. Not without a plan.

*********************

( Gravity man, Poltergeist and Xerox will be arriving in the sewers, beneath the basement where the Wil o' whisp entered the crate. Their intention is to break through in the next post if nothing else happens to stop them or divert their attention.)

The machine eyes flicker in the box for a moment before coming to a soild white color. He didn't want to be here, in the dark, all alone, dead! But he had to, he got info on a guy from Russia that he assasinated, thank god he did! Lead him straight towards this nice place, sucks that he had to sneak his suit in and then travel here silently. Not easy as a half-alive ghost but it worked.

He slowly lifts the unsealed lid of the box and letting it fall with a silent thunk. he then climbs out with out a sound and looks around, he goes to step into a shadow as he gets a twisting feeling in his gut, somethings not right but no ones here. He's going to be safe, at least for a while. He then steps out of a shadow near the door and then continues his dreary shadow walk up.

drip-drop tilock.

The dropping of the waters was much faster and more frequant here in the sewers. As one might have anticipated. The time is drawing near though there is still no sign of Gray or his faithful monstrosity. They know better than to be late, especially after the example Gravitas made of their residant speedster for the same offence. But it seems as though he is perhaps getting ahead of himself again, desiring to act very quickly. Though it seems as though there's a particular movement from the basement above him as well. Given the weight it was something substantial. The form it takes being similar to that of a particular poltergeist. But it's not him. The shape is all wrong, and it's behavior is entirely different. This was not expected.

Lifting his head with his hood still draped to cover his face, Gravity man made a quick motion with his hands, as if quickly wiping from the sides in. The ceiling, or rather Ghost's flooring began to break and crumble. The debris almost his the ground before glowing with a slight purple hue and floating, rearranging themselves to float one just a little higher than the other. Stepping up, he scaled the debris as if they were stairs, each step he pushed off of fell to the ground in his wake as he entered the basement, his sights still trained on the (what most would have called) invisible foe. The unique nature of his powers granting him insight to it's existence. Stepping with a rather serious purpose, Gravity man finally reached the natural floor that he didn't cave in and made his presence known.

"Knock Knock." He said as he faced the direction of the shadow-spawned creature. Gravity Man already began slightly altering his own self, preparing for this thing to attack him as his own pet had once upon a time. The folder could wait a moment, it was rare he had the opportunity to experience encounters such as this. Even in a world of metahumans.

Ghost was having a fine night, until the floor was ripped from underneath him. He shadow jumps until he find a solid part of flooring and watchs the figure rise as he slowly goes for his mgs but stops when the figure, as he sees the man come from the floor and looks right at him and says knock knock.
Damn it, I know not only have a person, but a powered one at that...lets not mess with this one, perhaps he can be avoided? No, peace is the best option during an ambush, bullets come latter He thinks as he says, standing in the darkness "I. Am. Ghost. Who. Are. You?" In a metallic robotic voice as he slowly begins to head up the stairs, barely making a sound as not to give away his escape just in case things go poorly for ghost.

"Someone looking for answers." Gravity Man replied quite simply as he held out his hand, soon to clutch his hand shut and cause an impulse of gravitational energy funneling down the stairs. The force was powerful enough to pull, and functioning as a funnel the gravity became almost unbearable the closer one got to the door. Unfortunately for the source of the metallic voice, sound wasn't helpful when his foe could see him clear as day, regardless of the shadows.  "Oh calm now. I'm not that scary, am I?" He asked, the question obviously rehtorical. It would seem as though he were attempting to prevent an escape, though his ability to do so against one such individual would be more difficult than most others.

The name is Ghost. Metallic voice indicative of technological possession. Or perhaps a fancy exosuit. If trends hold this...thing will likely have some form of intangibility, invisibility and perhaps a minor telekinesis or teleportation. Exosuits indicative of extra sensory, measurement and calculations. Guns, rockets, lasers galore. If it's an exosuit I should start with testing structural integrity on small scales, minor gravitational pulse. EMP pulse is a common weakness of these exosuit types as well. His mind began to rationalize the type of enemy he was up against, taking both the supernatural name to a literal as well as the standard exosuited individuals he had clashed with in the past. While the prior ran through his mind he noted that this all could be rather...avoidable. Perhaps there was a way to avoid the destruction of such an interesting... thing.

"Don't leave yet. You could be instrumental to me. Yes, perhaps you would know something of why I am here." Gravity Man mused aloud for the suit to hear as he strolled forward, his gravitational field increasing as a precautionary barrier. His mind flashed with the possibilities as to why something like this would be down here. Was it a defense protocol? Unlikely, it hadn't attacked him yet. It seemed sentient, so perhaps a sentient AI that went on the fritz. Or perhaps it was another person with a goal more similar to his own. Could a ruthless merc. It could always be a merc. "Tell me, does the name "The Company" mean anything to you?" He asked, hoping that the figure would at least have knowledge of this name, or the name would trigger something to shed some light on the situation and perhaps give Gravitas an inkling of just what exactly he was getting himself into.

Ghost stays quiet as he lets the man speak while also thinking of what he is Interesting,I can either be seen or sensed, we could test this theory but his powers are worry some, it seems he controls matter in a way, so many possible things, got to choose one quick. He thinks.

After this quick thought he begins to shadow teleport to random safe spots in the room with shadows, he stops though soon as he says "The Company." Intense rage could be felt, unnatural in feeling but it quickly goes away in a flicker as he calms him self slowly as memories of painful flashbacks happen.

You.A.Member.Or.Perhaps.A.Mercenary.Of.Fortune.For.Them.Which.Is.It? While he says this, he pulls his mac-10's out, while doing his shadow dance around him. Calm your self,Rage...rage shouldn't control me, If I succumb then I would loss...need to focus He thinks as a small drop of black gunk falls from his mask.

The creature would speak to him. Of course the thing seemed to lack what Gravity Man would have constituted intelligence. Gravity Man simply asked and inquired about this "Company", however this thing seemed to miraculously misconstrued his inquisition for his working for them. He was uncertain how something like that even happened. Generally you don't ask people if they have information on your employer. However he couldn't help but wonder what would bring the creature to draw weapons against him. A foolish notion, though one that spoke volumes of this situation. Alas, the keys to Ghost's personality that could be gained from this action was lost upon Gravity Man, as his own ire was rising and fogged his proverbial vision.

The only motion Gravity Man made was his hooded head tilting to the side, like a strange possessed doll in a horror movie as his jaw clenched and teeth began to grind. With a furious swipe of the arm, Gravitas unleashed an astounding torrent of energy, his will warping gravity itself as it began to pull all objects in front of him towards him, while everything behind him was propelled back. His anger only all to apparent as his power clearly blew a huge portion of the foundation behind him to rubble. In this torrent he attempted to snag this "Ghost" and pull them forward to him.

"You DARE to compare me to filth like that!?" He shouted, genuine disgust and pure, unadulterated hatred coursing through his veins. His temperature rose and the his very presence began to alter the very area surrounding him, items strangely attracting and sliding to one and other, some smaller objects floating. In his anger, his power acted on it's own, and his will ran rampant. "I am not an agent of some deranged unoriginal "company" nor am I a filthy bullet-sponge or fortune. I just so happen to be the result of people like this...and I'm not about to let the likes of you get in the way of justice. Now you'd do well to tell me what you know and I might spare you the same fate I have planned for them." He said, preparing himself to utterly and totally unleash holy hell upon the entire area. This "company", if Gray was right, was long over due a trial by fire...a penance and a blood price that Gravitas now intended to make them pay in full. He'd be damned if he let some high-tech suit or temperamental spirit get in his way.

The first though in Ghost's mine was Oh shit. He would be pulled forward suddenly, and almost reach him. Though thankfully, it was dark, and shadows always welcomed him. Even when before the experiments.

He would shadow travel to stairs and be slammed against it, a clang, like something breaking before he teleports again up the stairs as he goes to put his suits shoulder back in place. "So.Not.With.Company?Then.Who.You.Working.For?Filth.They.Are.Though.Many.Want.There.Secrets." he says his back against a wall, semi close to the door but not so that he would be tremendously pulled.

Ghost was suspicious as he sat there waiting for an answer. He has found many connections, though none that would try and go after "The Company.", perhaps hes another experiment? Possible, though unlikely, almost everyone that he found in multitude of facilities that he tracked down exterminated most of the others. Most likely is that its some company that sent a meta to find knowledge about their experiments to "help" humanity. He had to be careful, who knows what this man might do if he gets caught again, whatever the case. He has to try and get information out of him until hes actually caught. Then perhaps he can acess his true agenda.

"I've been told that these miscreants have been taking and experimenting with the human genome...forcing humans to become something more than. Worse over, suspicions have leaked to me that they do so without the consent or the desire of their so called test subjects." Gravity Man said as this "ghost" seemed to change it's tune a little. His focus was still on this ghostly entity, as it seemed as though this thing was about as fond of this "company" as he was. Unfortunately this ghost didn't seem the type to agree and cooperate with Gravity Man at the moment. Perhaps that would change. Perhaps not. "I'm looking for answers. Are they in fact doing this? If so then I believe it would be most appropriate to enact justice upon them for their foolish and abominable acts." His temper was slow to correct itself, his voice still had a bit of a hiss to it. Of course this subject was one that hit Gravity Man's own heart and wrenched it's rusty shiv in there nice and tight. To think that these people could do this. To think these fools believed they could get away with it.

"So I'll repeat myself one last time." He said as his powers seemed to reign themselves in, becoming a bit less threatening in some respects. Though the danger was still very real. Focusing a bit on the situation at hand, Gravity man was quick to send out a insubstantial pulse around his own self, diminishing his gravitational field, but preparing for something else entirely. "You'd do well to tell me what you know and I might spare you the same fate I have planned for them."

Ghost says after a his shoulder is popped back in"Ha.Ha.Ha.You.Are.Correct.Though.No.Need.For.Threats.I.Just.Happen.To.Be.One.Of.The.Test.Subjects.Your.Suspicions.Are.Correct.".

After his shoulder got popped back in while he was still talking, he would slowly stand up and inch a little farther away from the door, though still close enough to be heard, doing so just in case the floor decided to collapse again or this guy came up the stairs.

If he does come up the stairs, he would quickly shadow dance to the next floor and hide in a room with a hole, to continue his conversation.

Its a Chiller night! Empty Re: Its a Chiller night!

Post by Proarden (Gravity Man) November 22nd 2015, 12:44 am

The confession that this creature was in fact one of the many experiments that "The Company" had produced. Of course the suspicion lingered that this thing was in fact lying, however in his own mind Gravitas was able to easily push them aside as he thought the concept over. The creature's first sign of aggression was when the company was mentioned. Then it accused him of working for them, which rationally makes sense with the previous fact. Then he admits to being an experiment, and the aggression fades. There was also the fact that this creature was obviously equipped with a power set that could be useful for a company to "give" someone. Well, true enough Gravity man didn't know the man's full power set, but from what had been experienced it seemed to hold. In response to the statement from Ghost, Gravitas' own energies had faded as objects no longer attracted one and other nor was gravity any thicker than before his little temper attack. But he was not a fool, he was still prepared.

"I see... I suppose I owe you an apology then." Gravitas said with a slight sigh afterwards, approaching the steps. As the creature seemed to teleport once more, Gravitas found himself increasingly irritated by the power, though it was simply because of the convenience of it. Though in all honesty he couldn't blame the man either, if it could truly be called that. He even recalled how distrusting of others he was when he escaped the Agency. After everything he'd gone through, all the pain, all the sick and twisted studies. Even if none suffered the fate as badly as he had.... the fact they had to suffer it at all was more than enough to earn his patience. Following the flow of the powered individual and the flux in the gravitational forces, he found himself ascending the stairs to the next floor and then into a rather plain room. (I have no way of knowing what this room looks like so it's just pretty plain, with a hole in it.) Of course there was the hole where the man had now moved to, but there was no need to engage him violently, thus Gravitas would simply be cautious.

"I have every intention to bring a very fitting end to the company that did this to you. Nothing would please me more than if you would help. It would only be justice if it were you to make this happen." Gravity man said aloud, a slightly louder than normal tone as if he were uncertain the creature were around any longer. Though the thought that Gray was in fact correct about this had him a bit shaken. This had never happened before. No, seriously this NEVER happens. Gray is never right. How was this going to play out? Where to start looking? Was this person even going to help him? So many questions made his life feel like the ending monologue for a Dragonball Z episode. Unfortunately he didn't want to wait until "next time" to find out what was going to happen. Hopefully this person wouldn't make him wait for it either.

Ghost would say as he would slowly try and make his way around him, or if he decided to use his powers, then drop down the hole "Interesting.Perhaps.We.Can.Work.Together.But.How.Do.We.Know.That.Trust.Can.Be.Reassured?"
If he gets to the outside then he would go to the floor above, trying to lead him up. He if decides to do something involving gravity, then he would drop and then start shadow dancing all the way up the stairs without leading him on.

"Trust? Trust is a hard thing earned, yet easily broken. If you want to talk about trust then we first need to talk about honesty. So let's be honest... there is no way in Hell I could ever get you to trust someone like me." Gravity Man said quite simplistically. Though he was being honest, there was no way possible for trust to be assured. Though perhaps there was a rejuvenating faith in and of that itself. "Those who deserve your trust, will never ask you for it." He said, imparting words of wisdom given to him by a once great man he looked up to. With a shrug he simply left it at that, though he couldn't leave it like that...could he?

"My name is Zak Megaton, I'm more commonly known as Gravity Man. I own Pittsburgh. The police, the businesses....everything that happens there is run through my gang. We once owned Indianapolis, but as of late things became difficult when I sacrificed my hold over the city in order to save someone like us. Another victim. The difference is I'm not content to be a victim anymore...and I'm not content to let other people becomes victims anymore. I'm not virtuous in the least. I just want my revenge...and honestly there's only three options here." Gravity Man said, not caring if he offended the man or not with this next choice of words.
"You're going to help me; you're going to get out of my way, or I'm going to move you out of my way... though I doubt that will need to happen, seeing as we both want the same thing." He added in, hopeful that the person understood. Gravity Man wasn't asking for trust in him...he was asking that this man trust in his revenge. Gravity Man wasn't worthy of trust...he didn't care if others trusted him or not. But what Ghost could trust...was that his desire for revenge. The reason he even existed. But if that was enough...that was yet to be seen.
