Stuck in an Old Era (1950's Thread) [Force]

Post by Dark Phazer on July 24th 2015, 7:57 am

The shift made me dizzy and I stumbled onto my hands and knees almost retching on the foot path that was keeping me stable. Raising my head I took in my surroundings that had changed drastically. Buildings shrunk down, cars on the road looked like none I had ever seen in person and everything was black and white! Well nah it could have been because something like this time zone I had ever seen in old fashioned photos. My target would live to see another day, or maybe a lot longer than that if the zone I was in wasn't only aesthetic. Dragging my self to my feet I realised people all around the street where looking at me, I couldn't figure out why but then it hit me like a tonne of clothes. The clothes I was wearing now where a lot different than the clothes people were wearing today. Time to find some weird old clothes shop.

I found the shop I was looking for, a little old lady sitting behind the counter a cup of something in her hand that she was sipping on as she read a thick book.
"Hello sir, what are you looking for today", she said standing up her Gertrude name tag having a proud place on her chest.
"Just looking for some new clothes", I huffed, I still hadn't really taken in what had happened to me. I was half expecting to wake up any minute now. Time travel was just a stupid notion. As I got led to the men's section of the store I realised I would probably have to steal these items so I began changing my density to make a harmless getaway. Money from around 100 years in the future sure wouldn't work today.
"Umm what is the year", I asked.
She looked at me like I was crazy yet answered me anyway,"1950 young man". How was I ever going to get 70 years in the future.

It had been only a few weeks ago that Sarah Milosi discovered that she possessed the power to randomly relocate herself to another location. The thing was, she was still trying to figure out how to activate this power. It had proved rather difficult. Much more difficult than the other aspects of her mysterious powers. Yet it was the one that she felt like learning how to perform more than any of the others. It felt essential for her to learn how to do it, so she continued onwards.

Sarah was in some cabin ground during its offseason. Yeah, she was there illegally, and so were some other people. Nobody here seemed to care that the place was currently closed. It was security's fault for not keeping the place secure, clearly it was. The cabin that Sarah was in was number eight, and it was in mostly good condition. Could use a patching up job though. She had rearranged the interior a bit to suit her liking. After some rest, Sarah started trying to use her power to move herself to places she could not reach on her feet. After a few unsuccessful tries, Sarah started to feel herself moving. The cabin was fading away and shortly afterwards, she was gone from it and would find herself somewhere else entirely.

When the world came back into view, Sarah found herself inside of a cathedral. Interesting place to be. A sign hung on the wall and it informed her that this was the Washington National Cathedral. Being here meant that she was in Washington D.C. Good to know. There was some noise in the next room, and not wanting to get caught in here, Sarah decided to exit the place. She walked around the outside of the cathedral after leaving it and looked up to check out the gargoyles. On the northwestern tower she expected to see a particular one, but noticed that it was missing. The Darth Vader gargoyle wasn't present. That was really strange. She was sure it was here, it had to be. Sarah actually felt a shred of disappointment as she left the building behind her.

This city did not look like she expected it to. It looked kind of rundown to her. There were weird things present like newspaper stands and phone booths. Why would there still be phone booths? Sarah passed by a newspaper stand and glanced at one of the copies. The paper was dated in 1950. Sarah looked up to the guy operating the stand and asked about this. "Why are these papers so old?"

"Old? These are copies of today's edition. What do you mean old? It's 1950, lady." The man said, looking at her as if something was wrong with her head.

"1950?" She thought. How? How was this even possible? Did she just travel through time? Space was apparently not the only thing she traveled through. Time was too. How would she get back though? Just try to use her power again? It seemed like her only option.

Sarah started looking around for a place she could go to in order to possibly use her power again to return to her present time. She walked down the street once more and was finding nothing, but a signal of sorts. Some anomaly was making itself known to her, so Sarah ventured in its direction to find out what it was. There were some shops ahead of her, and it seemed like the clothing store was the one where she needed to go to. What a strange place to be.

Pulling the curtain across the privacy I needed to make a complete change. Taking off my brightly coloured t-shirt and comfortable fat pants I would switch them for something that would go unnoticed this community, as a matter of fact I still had to figure out where I was. Grey dress pants I pulled on that itched my rear. This felt like I was dressed as an old fart, which in a kind of truth I was. Buttoning up a white shirt and clipping on some braces completed the look. I turned and looked at myself in the mirror, just one more change needed to be made.
"Ah, that looks better", I said audibly as I unbuttoned a few buttons to show off my chest. Something to make the girls go crazy. My body began changing again as I focused on my silent getaway, the store would not even notice the clothes were missing.

The floor passed through my body and I began sinking even further. I left my clothes in the room with the curtain still closed I could always steal some more, if I could return to my original timeline. Now directly under the building I began to phase forward through the cool soil in the direction of the front of the shop, it would look like I had walked straight out the retail store. Sometimes you couldn't explain things and my ability to phase straight through the earth was one of them. How did I even control the motion, I didn't know it just came naturally to me like walking or talking.

Head poked out above ground I scanned the street to make a emersion without creating a fuss. Rising up I once again placed my feet on solid ground and began heading down the street for a quick bite, changing clothes was seriously tiring. In the short few steps ahead of me I saw someone petite and cute, time to work my uncanny charm.
Putting on my suave smile and without even noticing her clothes not from this era I made her an irresistible offer, "How would you like to go get a quick bite with me?".

The 1950s were a weird time. At least that's how Sarah found it. This post world war two era lived in constant fear of a nuclear war with the Soviet Union. This place looked like it was on the verge of a riot any minute now. No wonder she wanted to get out of here. Hopefully this thing she was sensing could provide some assistance in accomplishing that. It better be, otherwise things might go poorly from this point forward.

Sarah was getting ever so closer to the clothing store when she lost the signal she had been following. One second it was there, the next it was not. What happened? Did she take too long and miss her chance. This was just proving unfortunate. Also the clothes inside the shop looked just plain terrible. People in this day and age dressed so strangely. Too strange for her tastes.

Giving up the mysterious signal as a loss, Sarah turned around and went back to trying to find a place to go to and hold out for the time being. Oh how she wished she knew her way around. At least weren't bothering her, for the most part. Some guy that appeared almost completely out of nowhere walked right up to Sarah and asked her if she wanted to go get something to eat with him. Yeah, that just happened, and Sarah didn't need time to think up a response. "No thank you." she said as bluntly as she could, and with that, Sarah began to walk away.

Or at least she would until she found the signal again. It was close by too, but where? Sarah turned back around and started to wonder, was it coming from this guy? If it was, why would it be? "Who are you anyways? Never seen you around before?" Sarah said to this guy, figuring she might as well try to get an idea as to what was going on.

Rejection hurt mah soul, oh the pain. She was one of those girls that you would probably have to know for a few years before your got to even get a kiss form here. Turning my back on her, I suddenly whipped  back around finally noticing the clothes she was wearing. She would really want to go out to lunch with me once I told her my story, she must have got here like me.
"Who are you anyways? Never seen you around before?", she said to me, could she know I wasn't from this time maybe she had something to do with it. I would definitely have to have a a deep conversation with her.
"Ahhh, how did you know? I literally just appeared here and got changed into these sexy ass clothes", I charmed with a smirk, "Maybe you should get something to wear to blend in, I could help you get them you know I have special talents for that kind of thing". If I was lucky I might even be in the changing room with her as she made the switch.

I began walking back in the direction of the clothes shop, "You coming babe?". It was definitely a shame they didn't wear the same slutty clothes in this era. Hopefully she would want to stay with me, although I wouldn't admit it being some where so far away from home but not frightened me. How would they find someone or something in this primitive age to send them forward 70 years to where they came from. Was there even technology that advanced? Honestly there was only one way to find out. I turned back to the chick waiting for her.
"Whats your name? Oh and your pretty cute by the way", I finished with a wink.
