An Introduction to Duo

Post by Duo on September 1st 2014, 12:47 pm

No one planned for this. It really didn't have to go down like this. Of course, the duo didn't plan for it end this badly either, but when guns and superhumans are involved, of course someone is getting hurt. It's just a question of how hurt.
The scene was set at a bank, to be specific, the Citizens Plus Bank in Brooklyn, New York at 27th and 4th. On the outside, the busy city was completely fine. There was traffic, there was arguments, and there was the feel of a constant rush hour. Nothing was out of place. Inside the bank? Two desperate men who wanted, no, needed money taking control.
About six people were on the floor, lined up at a wall. An average sized man, possibly a bit "short" but nothing out of the norm stood with a pistol in his hands. He was trying to think of the model, but he didn't know guns. He stole it from a police officer about two months ago. Besides, it was empty.
Across the room stood a taller man with long, messy black hair standing by the counter, gun and bag in hand. He pointed it at a young lady, no older than 35, and she was making movements sloppily, quickly and hurriedly pulling out stacks of twenty dollar bills and putting it forward, where the man swept the bills off the counter with his hand, placing it into the open bag.
The door opened with a kick. Swinging open, the entrance revealed a squad of policemen, each armed with a handgun.
"Shit! Let's just get out of here. A few punches to a wall and with my speed and we're gone. We can get the money elsewhere."
"No way. Two days with no food and no water was too much. I don't care about anything else, everyone in this bank could die. Everyone in this city could die. But today I'm eating. I'm sick of scraps and one dollar cheeseburgers with spare change. Today we feast. Even if it's at these people's cost."
"Fine. Fine. Nicholas, just stay calm. No one needs to get hurt. We take the money and run. They can't hurt us. We have no need to hurt them. Got it?"
"Just stay out of my way, Jason."
      "Answer me Nicholas."

"Put your hands up, drop the money and the guns, and no one gets hurt."
It was ironic. Someone was going to get hurt, but the guns weren't a part of it. Jason, the smaller of the duo, dropped the gun. Nicholas had different plans. He kicked the counter, breaking it with his massive strength. He walked by the lady and held the gun up to the side of her head. She freaked out, like someone should in this situation, and a war of words happened verbally between Nicholas and the policemen. Mentally was a different case.
"Let her go Nick. She's innocent."
"Nothing bad is going to happen. Just let me do this. Use this as a distraction. Grab the money and go outside, and then I'll teleport."

Jason ran, and quickly. The bag of money was swooped up, and bullets shot at him. They hit him in the stomach, head, and leg, but the bullets bounced off of him. He kept running, and went outside of the bank, quickly running down a street alley. He dropped down, and he hid in the shadows of the buildings around him, and he focused on his link with Nick. He now saw things through his eyes.
Nick saw the police officer mouth something.... "I'm sorry".... Nick's eyes moved down to the trigger of the gun... It was being pulled slowly. Nick stood, his body completely covering the woman. He felt the bullet hit him in the small of the back, and then more bullets, an entire barrage, swarmed onto his back. It was as if it was raining bullets, he felt them, but they did no harm. After a while they stopped, and Nick turned around, fuming. The woman stood, her mouth gaping from shock and awe and confusion, and Nick started to shout.
"You monsters! You were going to kill this girl to protect a few thousand dollars? You would take a life just so you could say that you saved the days like heroes? Just praise yourselves and remind your conscious not to be sad because it's just a casualty on a battlefield? Do you feel good about yourselves because you almost saved green slips of paper in exchange for a human life? DO YOU?! You.... All of you.... Monsters! Monsters!!!"
"This guy just survived about fifty shots.... You're the monster! Don't hurt us!"

That phrase.... You're the monster.... Triggered Nicholas. He ran, and with one fist forced an officer out onto the streets, a dismantled face as a result of a simple punch. Nick grabbed another and flung him into a wall, and then with the remaining police officers, a charge knocked them all down. Nick picked up the one who said all that... The man who called Nick a monster.
       "It's a monster you want? It's a monster you'll get..."
       "Nick No!"
It was too late. A barrage of punches left the officer on the floor in a pool of blood. Nick didn't stop though. Suddenly, Jason popped in, teleporting in, and he grabbed Nick and pulled him off. Nick looked on at the mess. The police officer wasn't moving. At all. The blood.... It was too much... Was he? No, he couldn't be, right?

4 Hours, 37 Minutes, 24 sec-... 25 seconds later, 2 Dominoes Large Two Topping Pizzas and 4 Shots Later....

The Duo sat on bar stools, a crowd around them. They appear to be in the middle of the joke, and it seems we, the narrative viewers, only can hear the punchline.
"And the bartender said, 'Well, no ma'am, we don't serve that here.'"
The crowd started laughing, and the duo looked at each other, each turning to the bartender at the exact same moment and with exactness ordered the same thing, Whiskey On the Rocks.
"Tonight is going great! But we need to start thinking about leaving. We got the money, but we can't stay still for too long. Someone might find out about us.
Nick nodded at his twin, and the duo grabbed their drinks and both swung the small glasses back, taking large 'sips' before going back to telling another stupid joke which everyone is going to laugh at because they're drunk and it's late. Of course, no one here knew about the Duo's powers. And no one needed to.

Re: An Introduction to Duo

Post by Leon Fawkes on September 1st 2014, 4:58 pm

New York City. Leon always had mixed feelings about this place. On one hand, it was very exciting and never ceased to amaze him with the output of weird things that it had. But, on the other hand, it was disgusting. There was trash everywhere, but not just the litter on the ground. The human trash was included in that. Thugs and criminals who go about their business in such boring and corrupt ways. Ordinary people that go through the motions of life with no variety. People that don't contribute to the excitement of the world. Leon didn't believe crime was wrong as long as it was done in extravagant ways. Simple displays of brute strength for petty reasons were lost on this man. This man that just happened to be in the right place to witness another boring display of petty crime.

What a shame. Metahumans wasting their potential. A simple bank robbery? Talk about large fish in a small pond. Leon let his armor emerge from his body as he drew closer to the bank. Everybody was fleeing the scene, scared of the gun fire that erupted from the officers' firearms. No attention was drawn to him. The transition was seamless and quick, as well. In an instant he was changed from Leon into The Fox. Alas, his plans to intervene were ruined as the pair sped off away from the scene. The speed was great enough that Leon wouldn't be able to keep up at his own pace, but he would be able to keep an eye on them with his electromagnetic vision. Leon switched his vision to track the two and took off to gain a higher vantage point.

4 Hours, 38 Minutes later...

The two metahumans seemed to be enjoying their spoils with alcohol. How simple. Leon had quite enough of spying on the two. Their life was already boring him. A bank robbery followed with drinks? Surely this couldn't be all. But as the hours passed, Leon grew impatient. Perhaps this was all the entertainment they could offer. The time had come for Leon to seek this entertainment from them on his own. He couldn't allow his face to be seen, and it wasn't exactly like The Fox belonged in a bar. Well then, that only left him with one other option.

Leon stood in front of the entrance to the bar and lifted his left hand towards the entrance. It's time for you to provide me with the entertainment I seek...
With that, Leon's glove started to form a small sphere of plasma. This would be enough to make his dramatic entrance. He wasn't planning on killing anybody, after all. The sphere then erupted from Leon's glove and ripped up the entrance with its intense heat, forcing dust and debris to explode into the bar. It would be enough to shock everybody within while not harming anybody. Leon almost pitied the barkeeper for destroying his entrance. He should have done something of more importance.

Re: An Introduction to Duo

"Boom. Big one."
"No shit Sherlock. Let's scram. Can't believe the police found us."

The dynamic duo (buh dum tss) looked at the entrance before Jason began to run. There wasn't police, instead a.... Thing. Something metallic. Jason quickly stood up and watched as the crowd started to freak out. Nick stood up beside Jason, and quickly drank down the Whiskey on Rocks. Jason elbowed his brother, and the two stood still, staring at the thing. Did he punch the door? If so, that was impressive considering it obliterated it. Because we assume robotic things are typically male unless sexy (not the case at all here!) Jason and Nicholas feel it's a robotic man.

"I have a bad feeling about this man."
"No really? We could take him though. And impress that blonde..."
"Now is not the time to think about women! What if this guy like wants us dead?!"
"You know just as well as I do that he can't kill us. We're no bar door, get me? All entrance, no bite."
"Pretty sure that's not how the saying goes..."
"Shut it."
"So what's the plan? He seems pretty focused on us. As in killing us. For no reason."
"Maybe he isn't so bad. We are jumping to conclusions. Plus, he does do cool shit like we do with the door thing."
"'Cool'? I was thinking the word was unnatural, but I guess cool fits there. And we're people, he's a FUCKING ROBOT! But you're right. He may not be that bad. But you also could be wrong and he ends up managing to kill us in one hit. We never met someone like him before."
"Okay, well I'm still thirsty, so if we're fighting, we're doing it in shifts, and I'm sitting out first."

The duo looked at each other, and Jason stayed standing, arms perched up in a fighting position, and Nick sat down on a bar stool again.

"Yes I would like a drink. I don't care what, just anything that will make me see blurry and possibly piss myself."

He saw the bartender hiding down on the floor, and Nick hopped over the bar and grabbed one of the nozzles of some random drink (hell if he knew) and aimed it at his open mouth. It got over his face, and poured on his body, but he didn't mind.

Jason stood there, staring at the guy who just burst down the door.

"Weather's been pretty calm. Oh, yeah, they call me... Uhh. Hold on."

Jason turns his head to his partner/brother.

"We need a badass name!"

"We're the... Uhhh.... Sword and Dagger of Badassness! Yeah!"

"Yeah! That!"

What a sad combination of men they were.

Re: An Introduction to Duo

Post by Leon Fawkes on September 1st 2014, 5:53 pm

Leon got the feeling that these two were rather eccentric while watching him. Those suspicious seemed to be correct as one of them sat down, trying to get another drink from the barkeeper only to realize he was cowering in fear. This long haired man then decided to reach over and grab a nozzle and, quite messily, drink from it. This action slightly amused Leon as the man spilled drink all over his face and body. Leon didn't let any sounds of amusement out but kept a smile hidden underneath his helmet. The man who kept his guard up seemed to try to make small talk. Perhaps he believed that Leon required banter like a comic book villain before fighting the heroes. There were a few problems with that picture. Such as the fact that Leon was no character from a comic book, and he didn't picture himself to be a villain, but rather a seeker of entertainment. Besides, these two were no heroes by society's standards. Robbing a bank and bloodying a police officer doesn't quite meet the standards of hero.

The banter between the two continued as they seemingly decided upon a name for themselves. The resulting name only left Leon ashamed to believe that he decided to use these two to quench his thirst for excitement this night.
"Perhaps there is something less... Pathetic?"
Leon was almost begging for something less pathetic. If this continued, he would be forced to kill these two to avoid future embarrassment. It was a good thing that he currently had no contacts within this weird metahuman game. That's all that this was to him; a game. But it was going to become the game that yielded the most fun for him.

Talking didn't really leave Leon very fulfilled, so the only thing to do next would be to start combat. Hopefully they weren't as awkward as combatants as they were while speaking. Leon had never given away the fact that combat was starting before, and this would not be his first. He decided that he would start off slow, however, and make his way up in seriousness as the fight progressed. It wouldn't be any fun if he tried to end it immediately, after all. This would also be a good way to gauge the abilities of the two before he revealed his abilities as well. Leon reached for his two guns at his hips with each and and then aimed center mass of both men. With a slight pull of both index fingers, bullets would speed off towards the sternum of both men. A simple test before the serious combat began.

Re: An Introduction to Duo

"Dumbass look out!"

It was too late. While the quick Jason used his superhuman speed to avoid the bullet, Nicholas was shot right in the sternum, and the bullet just pinged off of him. Nicholas put down the nozzle and hopped over the table, and he cracked his knuckles. His shirt had a hole in it now, and it was a GOOD SHIRT! Well. It wasn't clean. And it already had a few holes in it. And it kinda smelled funny. BUT IT WAS STILL A GOOD SHIRT! Nicholas threw his fist to the ground, causing a hole to appear in the floor and a small tremor shuck, causing everything to slightly shake for half a second.

Nicholas ran, not being the brightest of the brothers (although neither were too smart) and he swung a fist back. He launched it forward to hit with the force of a fist-sized (WHAT BETTER ANALOGY IS THERE?!) car. However, it was a sloppy full out traditional "pow right in the kisser" styled punch, and could easily be avoided or countered by hitting the body to make him lose balance.

Jason sighed at his brother, and ran quickly and slid, his body laying on the bar now, and he grabbed the nozzle and poured what he could guess after a few seconds to be fruity down his throat. Whatever his brother was pouring on himself, it was good. Really good. Good enough to make Jason forget about defending his brother (he should be fine, right?) and just chillax and drink. After all, weren't they taking shifts?

Jason saw a lot of flaws in his brother's style of fighting, and this one was just another flaw. Jason could always best his bro in combat, but now he wasn't fighting his brother. He was fighting some robotic thing with skills probably double of his brothers. He could only hope that sheer strength and speed would save them both.

After all, they did have that combination. The speed to break the barrier of sound and the strength to lift up... A lot. It was a great combination, and connected with their bond and the ability to teleport to each other in need, it couldn't go wrong. At all. These two were the best duo around! The sword and dagger of Badassness!!! Sword-clearly Nicholas. Strong and strikes hard. The dagger being Jason, quick movements and precise hits would be the death of any man! Speed and strength, the best combination to date!

But would it be enough to fight off... This.

Re: An Introduction to Duo

Post by Leon Fawkes on September 1st 2014, 7:23 pm

Leon made sure to note the speed at which the first brother was able to dodge the bullet. He knew that his running speed from before was able to outmatch Leon's base speed, but he needed to gauge the reflexes of this man as well. Perhaps it was necessary for him to dodge, but the possibility also was that he was aware that Leon knew of his speed and wanted to keep his other powers hidden. The other, however, didn't even react to the bullet. Instead, he looked down at his already destroyed shirt. The bullet did nothing but bounce off, however, and the man decided to punch the ground. Perhaps it was out of anger. Tremors resulted from the impact, and Leon could only guess the man's strength. A plan quickly developed in Leon's head, and he put it to work as soon as he could. As the man started to, quite slowly according to Leon, make his way towards him, Leon quickly released his magazine from his right gun while holstering his left. Then, he unloaded the round already in the gun and locked the chamber backwards to load one of his tracking bullets with his left hand. He decided he was going to take this hit from the man to accurately get a read on his strength. All empirical data said that it was going to hurt. Leon locked his gun barrel forward as the man cocked his arm back and raised it to aim at the man's chest. Leon fired his bullet as soon as the man started to punch forward. The punch wasn't very fast by Leon's standards, and he could have ran around the man to his back during that window of time. However, he wanted to follow this plan for a while.

Both arms were brought upwards to his face in a cross pattern to absorb some of the blow and to keep his visor from breaking as the long haired man made contact with Leon. And boy, did he feel it. As soon as the punch connected, Leon was lifted off his feet backwards at a rapid pace. As he flew threw the air, he tried estimating the force of the punch. It could have been anywhere near 100 tons of force. If Leon didn't have his armor to protect him, he would have broken both of his arms and probably many bones in his face. He wouldn't be getting up from one of those any time soon without The Fox. And even so, The Fox wouldn't be able to withstand a number of those. It would be a bad idea to let him land another one of those. All of these thoughts rushed through his mind as he hit the nearest wall of the building bordering the bar. However, that wall was not strong enough to stop his momentum. Leon flew through that wall and the wall on the other side of the store before finally setting into the outside wall two buildings away from the bar. Dust and debris filled the air and blocked the view between him and the brothers. His breath was knocked out of him, but he still needed to perform.

Quickly, Leon aimed his right arm for across the street. A small hook with a black wire erupted from under his wrist and connected with a billboard. Immediately upon making contact, Leon was hoisted into the air across the street towards the building. After a few seconds he released his hook from the billboard and dropped down onto the roof of the building. Now, it was time to launch his surprise attack. He was eager to see how these two would react to something like this. Leon quickly switched to his X-ray vision, seeing the two brothers clear as day. Next, he held both of his arms out wide to his sides and began creating to large discs of plasma. He made sure to create them as very thin discs to minimize resistance from the building. Finally, Leon took aim at the two brothers and threw his discs at a high velocity towards both of them. The left disc would go towards the long haired brother that punched him and the right disc would go towards the quicker brother. These two discs would burn very slight holes in the wall as they enter instead of making a loud entrance light before. Their paths also stayed clear of any non-combatants that were still cowering inside the bar. As Leon threw these discs, he began to cough heavily. He had forgot to try to regain his breath. That punch did more damage than he would have hoped. Recovering would be his next priority before he started another attack. However, it was only a few seconds until he felt his regular flow of air return to him. Good thing he only received the punch with his arms.

Re: An Introduction to Duo

Post by Duo on September 1st 2014, 7:47 pm

He did it. Jason couldn't believe it. One, single punch and look at what happened. All of it, done! At least, that's what the Duo thought. Jason stood up, and jumped off the bar and started to do a little dance. It was a victory dance, of course. Nicholas grew a smirk, and turned to his brother.

"We should probably get out of here sooner or later. This guy shouldn't be able to follow us. If it's still alive."

Oh how wrong he was. Jason didn't reply, instead he nodded, signaling that he was down for leaving, but to make sure he knew he was still busy, he grabbed two bottles from behind the bar and tossed one to Nick. Nether read what the bottles said, hell, they could be drinking straight Vinegar and they wouldn't notice. Or care. They still stood a distance from each other, and they both watched as the witnesses fled out the entrance, and Jason said a few flirty words, encouraging one redhead to stay, but she quickly slapped him and ran off with the rest.

Then it burned, and bad. Bright balls of plasma hit them. Of course, they didn't call it plasma, instead thought the term "Bright Hot Balls of Energized Shit". While they took little actual damage to their bodies, the plasma burned them, and badly. When the burning stopped (it didn't stop, but lessened to the best it would for now), they turned to see two holes which apparently were burned in the walls. Was that thing still there?

Jason quickly ran outside, and looked around. He saw the robotic thingy-majigger on the top of the building standing.

"Alright. Time to do Operation Badass Punch Teleport Thing."

"You got it. Where to though?"

"Up. Straight up."

Nicholas understood. For those of you who don't know what obvious generic naming means, the badass punch teleport thing was where Jason teleported and punched once at a location where Nicholas got to.

Nicholas quickly squatted down and then jumped up, forcing himself through the celing. Up he went, easily 200 feet in the air, and he started to fall back down, and he saw the robot thing standing there. Jason popped up out of seemingly no where, and it appeared like he already had a running start. He was sprinting directly toward the robot, going for a similar punch that his brother did, however, not as much strength into it, and more speed and momentum.

While Jason was charging with a strike at RoboCop, Nicholas grabbed onto the one thing he could grab onto, a billboard. He stood there, and watched from below the situation. Maybe he could find a weak spot, if there was one.

Re: An Introduction to Duo

Post by Leon Fawkes on September 1st 2014, 8:26 pm

It seemed as if the two were durable enough to withstand a small disc from the plasma generator without a problem. Leon noted that this prompted the two of them to start working together. The stronger one with long hair jumped up into the air while the speedster started dashing.
It appears that this would be a good time to use that weapon. Leon thought of his S4 and its capabilities of being able to deafen most people and ruin most of their senses. These two seemed to be made of sturdier stuff. Hell, considering what their IQ likely was, they had to be. They may be blessed physically but their ability to even think of a name for themselves was utterly dreadful. Take for example the fact that the stronger one decided to jump straight up into the air. This left him open to an attack from Leon before he could hit the ground. In fact, he could land multiple attacks while he was still in the air. The first problem to take care of, however, was the speedster. It wouldn't take him very long to reach Leon, but that was exactly what Leon was planning on.

The speedster was easily breaking the sound barrier to reach Leon, and that is what Leon would take advantage of. With haste, Leon activated his sound system, being loud enough to deafen anybody nearby and disorientate any who felt its vibrations. The music would be audible for people up to three quarters of a mile away. Hopefully nothing that would end this fun would arrive after hearing it. Leon almost pitied the poor sucker that was running at such a speed towards him. He would become so close that he may not be able to stand after the effects of the S4 kick in. Leon would then use this diversion to focus on the stronger airborne man. Leon took aim with his left hand and started to charge a larger sphere of plasma. This particular one grew to have a diameter of 6 feet. It would be able to completely envelope the man. Leon quickly determined the apex of the man's jump and when he would reach it, then fired the large ball of plasma. Hopefully that would serve as a lesson for him. After that attack, Leon would be unable to use his left glove for a while in order to recharge it. The large sphere put a strain upon the glove, meaning he would need to rely on his right hand or his other tools until then.

It hurt. And bad. The vibrations hit Jason bad, and it disoriented him. He started to stumble, focusing on his ears. He put his hands up in a feeble attempt to cover his ears, which shielded, but did not help at all. He lost track of his punch, and found himself running off the edge of the building, falling a story or two to the ground below. That didn't hurt though. His ears did.

Meanwhile, Nicholas stood up higher, holding onto the billboard. He turned his head at the wrong moment. Another ball of hot energized shit, this one much bigger, was coming at him. Of course, Nicholas tried moving out of the way. The plasma still hit a large piece of him, and he dropped to the bar's roof, but he crashed through it as well. He was grounded, and in something he rarely experienced, true pain.

Nick got to his knees. He had to keep going. He had to keep standing. He had to keep fighting. He wasn't letting some Terminator wannabe wipe him out. He too heard the sound that wiped out his brother, but it didn't impact him enough to truly disorient him for long. He shook his head, and then kept trying to stand up. He grabbed the bar to pull himself up, but he pulled the bar apart, taking off a piece of it with his strength. Nick cursed, and finally, he got his act together. He stood up, and he wiped off dust from his shoulders. He did another jump, this time landing on the roof.

Nick stood, and he looked ready to fight. He had a back up strategy planned, and all he would have to do is stall for a bit, and then Jason could get back into the fight. Nick spit to the side, and his shirt was now completely burned off his body, with a few black patches on Nick's body where the impact was made. Even the durability he had was failing him now. It was time for him to fight. He would say the words that would be his battle cry. He was ready to take a stand and not be thrown around like a rad doll.

Nick rolled his neck, cracking it once, and then opened his mouth for the war's shout of terror!

A small burp was released, and Nick chuckled and then got in a fighting position.

Leon smirked as his tactics proved successful. What he also enjoyed was how resilient both of these metahumans were. They kept getting up and coming back for more. Their fighting wasn't anything impressive, and their tactics could definitely use some work, but they showed promise. These two had potential excitement for Leon to reap. That was all he really cared about. Could they continue to peak his interest? Never had he intended to reprimand them for robbing a bank or harming a police officer. Neither did he intend to kill them. They were an interesting and comical bunch, and Leon could appreciate that. Comedy was just another form of entertainment. Perhaps they were more suited to stand up than this metahuman game, but they didn't entirely disappoint him.

The speedster fell off of the side of the building and landed hardly on the ground. Leon was sure this wouldn't really do much damage to him. The sound system was probably destroying his ears, however. Once the more powerful of the other two landed through the roof and into the building, Leon turned off his sound system. It really wouldn't do to go and destroy somebody's hearing. Besides, just a few seconds of loud noises would be enough. It wouldn't raise any alarms and it wouldn't do any permanent damage. All he wanted to do was leave the man incapacitated.

After disabling his sound system, Leon dropped down to the ground next to the man holding his ears. He then got a funny thought. Why not try and engage a man who probably can't hear anything in conversation? Leon smirked at the thought and looked at the man. "So, who are you guys? And don't say the sword and dagger of badassness." Leon looked up to see the stronger man look like he was ready to fight again. That, however, didn't warrant his attention that much. The man was insanely slow and Leon would have plenty of time to respond to him if he decided to do anything.

Jason rolled on the ground, and he heard something, but it wasn't speaking. It was this high pitched squeal, obviously his hearing had not returned to normal yet. He saw the robot dude standing by him, so naturally he tried standing up and running, but he couldn't get to a standing basis before having to hold his ears. The music may have stopped, but the ringing didn't.

Meanwhile, the larger of the two jumped high into the air, possibly 100 feet, and be landed right by Jason and the robot. He stood there with his arms in a fighting position, as if guarding his brother. He looked down at him, and then quickly looked right back up. He didn't want anything bad to happen to a defenseless Jason. Let's face it, out of everyone in the world, Nicholas was gonna be the one to take out his brother, no one else.

"God damnit Jason answer me!"

No answer... No answer... No answer... Nicholas was getting a bit worried now. However, it could just be because Jason was in pain. He sensed a lot of it. Nicholas just stood now, not caring about the question he was asked. He just needed to defend his twin.

Leon stared down the brother that just decided to jump high up into the air again. Perhaps this man really didn't ever learn. It made himself such an easy target. Leon was almost tempted to take advantage of his being suspended in the air. Anybody with any knowledge in common physics could accurately see when the man would stop and simply aim for that area, or just fire a barrage at him throughout his whole flight. Unless this man was able to change his movement in the air, jumping like that would only telegraph his movements and make him an easy target. However, the man didn't seem to be trying to attack Leon. At least, not yet. He only looked as if he were worried about his partner, hovering over him and getting slightly hysterical when he didn't show any signs of answering. Leon chuckled a little at this. Of course the man wouldn't be responding. The damage to his ears would be leaving him temporarily deaf for a while. Leon would be astounded to see him carrying on a conversation with another person so quickly. However, the stronger of the two stood up once again. Leon started to wonder if he wanted to keep the fight going, seeing as how he was ignoring Leon's question but still decided to stand fast. Oh well, this fight was starting to bore Leon anyway. All he wanted at this point was to get to know his opponents. Maybe if there was a decisive end they would hear him out once he stopped his hostile intentions. Stopping a fight while on even terms did nothing to gain the other side's trust. Stopping the fight when you could easily end the other person was a different story.

Leon put some distance between him and the brothers, then stood with his legs spread out in a power stance. Next, he brought his arms up slightly before throwing them out in a full extension by his sides one more time while releasing his plasma to form two swords. Heat immediately started to radiate from it and melted the ground that was just a few feet from the plasma. Leon stared down the man still standing as if to challenge his resolve.
"Come at me if you still have heart."
It was an obvious challenge, and one that could hurt a man's pride. If this man felt that he still had heart, then Leon would give him his full strength. However, if the man found that he no longer felt like fighting with Leon, then perhaps he would be able to indulge Leon's curiosity to find out more about the two. Either way, Leon was not about to leave. He was going to satisfy either his desire to fight and feel excitement, or he would satisfy his desire to know more about his opponents. There wasn't any place he had to be this night. And he wasn't going to let these two have any other place they needed to be until he was done with them.
