What actually is the difference between a Quest and a thread? Everytime I asked this in the cbox the best I got was 'A quest is a quest'

Quests generally have some impacting significance to the canon of the world because a QUEST is an important event in some manner or another. A Quest holds more gravity than an actual thread, and requires more than just one man to accomplish.
  Example: The Justice league (Involves many *well known* heroes to do BIG world changing/saving things)

  A THREAD is the basic day to day BS.
   Example: Batman defeating the Joker and putting him in Arkham asylum.

  As you can plainly see BOTH of these are important events. But The Joker is more of a localized Batman problem. A problem that requires the whole freaking Justice League is far more serious and holds a far greater gravitas.

But I'd like to add that quests are deemed to be done with teamwork, or to have some planning beforehand. Quests can have goals for just one character, but also involve others to help formulate IC bonds, friendships, or rivalries.

I like to think Quests are a way of pushing oneself to write better with others, and have a clear goal.


Whereas regular threads on the board are just unplanned, fun topics to lazily roleplay about with your friends and still gain experience.



Back in the day, you could only gain XP from Quests.

Now you get it from every thread.

And TV was black and white and everyone had bikes with the big wheel at the front
