This is Where Science Plays God (Closed) Empty This is Where Science Plays God (Closed)

Post by Elena Vexus June 26th 2014, 11:16 pm

There is a secret facility in the depth's of Japan's scientific underground community that Ms. Elena Vexus had been monitoring for some time now. It was a very interesting yet controversial facility located offshore in The Sea of Japan. Their subject matter was human reserve and development. Many a tests and and experiments are ran on a multitude of human 'participants'. These subjects are mostly the homeless, the sick, dying, the elderly, or those already deceased. Specifically chose individuals who wouldn't be missed. No one who cares, or those who have no one to go home to. This laboratory is, of course, unknown to the general public, anyone outside of the country and most, if not all, of the Japanese government. Vexus came across this establishment when fishing for human test subjects as well. If those who have no home were more closely monitored it would be much easier to follow and uncover these inhuman establishments.
Some of the individuals she was looking to take up had vanished almost literally from under her nose, upon investigation of their appearance she came across the very high tech facility that was hosting these human experiments. She infiltrated the establishment to monitor their progress. There was no reason to duplicate work already being done for her. All of their digital notes, computer files, and electronically logged records she had access to. After a few months of no progress she began to push her influence a little bit. She would drop hits here and there, leave a trail of bread crumbs, add an extra note, or whatever it would take to inconspicuously move their experiments forward at a more reasonable pace.

A few years into influencing their projects, she contacted them as an anonymous source providing them with even heavier amounts of information. At this point, her attempts at dominating the free world had come to a screeching halt and she was in need of rejuvenation so to speak. There had been a couple of incidents recently which had opened Elena's eyes to some pressing personal matters. She was getting old and quickly succumbing to the decay of a traditional human body. There were factors of using her abilities that also contributed to her body's decomposition. Vexus had been on the east coast of the United States retrieving a few things that rightfully belonged to her. This was sort of a shopping list as she was compiling items in order to put together a sort of bodyguard for herself. It was not that Vexus could not defend herself, but just someone to do it for her so that she did not ned to over exert herself.
This research facility in Japan specialized in human reanimation and reversing the aging process. Since her intervention, their output had exceeded Elena's expectations and now it was time for the scientists to meet exactly who had been behind their experiments all this time. The crop was ready and Vexus was on her way to reap her rewards.

The Japanese were very welcoming of her and only ask her to prove her identity once by performing a demonstration of her intelligence. She arrived by a large freight ship and upon entering the offshore laboratory she learned that the staff was not all Japanese. There were individuals of all nationalities working here. Fascinating how such twisted amounts of information brought the world together. Elena spoke with one of the Russian scientists on the projects and gave her a tour of the facility as well. They were very trusting, but again how could they not be? All Vexus had to do was go to the media with her findings of this base and everyone involved would no doubt be charged for crimes against humanity. Yet on the flip side Vexus would lose all of the valuable research she had all these scientists work so hard for. Be though as it may, Vexus only planned on confiscating some of the research material with their permission and returning to the states shortly after. Even if they did not want to relinquish their work she would leave with something one way or another.
With the location being so secure Vexus was not entirely worried about intruders. They had not had a problem for as long as she's known of its existence and they have not done anything which much draw attention to them, or at least as far as she knew. After some negotiation, the scientists had agreed to allow Vexus to take the material that she requested back to her facilities to further the research. Everything was going as planned for once, she got what she needed and there was no need for any sort of conflict. Her and the rest of the residents on the platform retired to their sleeping quarters for the night. Elena could not stay long for one this base could not accommodate for a long term guest and she of course had other personal matters to attend to. Mostly she was just very much looking forward to her her side of the project rolling. Maybe working with people was actually a good thing, possible something she could not revisit now that she was more vulnerable as a human. As history serves, there would not be any progress if it wasn't for the help of others. Most of her life she's forced people into working for her, whether is be against their will or not. Maybe having something more voluntary would result in better results. This sort of method would most definitely resurface itself in the future. The less effort she needed to exert the better. She is getting old after all...

Data, planning, info and many other factors are made to ensure the expansion of the future. These factors create power, that was what it truly meant for him. Unlike many that believe power is everything, they were simple people and didn't work for there gain.

Now he had followed research from his old university, leading off to a private sector for some interesting projects. An offshore site that meant business, there subject on reanimation was what had pulled his attention. Now he had planned for his attack on the base, leading to himself flying over the site with his helmet scanning the area.

When he gathered the formation, patterns and the security systems data base from his helmet. He turned on his cloaking device and flew down towards the oil rig. He flew in, rather closely as he activates his jamming device for the camera's.

His motorcycle landed on the helipad area of the rig, and stood there in it's cloaking device. Leaving Black Star to jump off his ride and quietly rushed to the edge of the pad. Looking down there were a few guards, but deciding against killing for now.

He would wait for the chance, when they spread apart. The chance came in, jumping off the ledge onto a guard and knocking his head into a railing. Dragging the body around the corner, he would wait for the another to come around.

Grabbing him by his head, smashing his strong knee into his head and doing the same thing with the body. Looking around for the lab, it was above sea level. Not very secure at all, but who would fly to the middle of nowhere in the ocean....this guy!

Shaking his head, he would slowly stick to the walls. Hiding from the guards, other scientists and anyone else that could be here, until he found his goal.

This is Where Science Plays God (Closed) Empty Re: This is Where Science Plays God (Closed)

Post by Arcana June 27th 2014, 2:44 am

A ripple spread across the span of The Abyss and one consciousness caught it, feeling and tracing that ripple with long reaching fingers. The source was one, a being that controlled death and a being that claimed even dominion over its very advances. What this rippled stirred was the lord of The Abyss and The King of All Titans, Sean Atterrius. Set upon the obsidian black throne, he was resting one cheek upon a curled fist, a singular eye patch adorning his left eye, and revealing only one sterling silver orb that seemed to watch the throne room with an imperious scorn. One was missing, a member of his race that was high within the dark realm, a council member and one that was second only to him. A low chuckle escaped from the dark haired male, adjusting the vest over button up shirt as he stood to his feet with a rapid movement.

”Why am I not surprised?” The male muttered with a roll of his eye burying hands into his pockets, as the very air about the throne room began to ripple and contort. ”Humans get a little power and they think they can do as they wish.” He grumbled lowly, a voice angry almost as it reverberated through the room almost as if he had shouted. He closed his eyes, letting his mind stretch over the vastness that was the web that connected all of his race, the thing that was known as Death, and the nether that filled them all. The blip that responded was one within the world, near Japan and from a person that he was more than certain was supposed to have reported back by now.

A low almost animalistic growl rippled from his throat, skin pale and covered with strange black markings begging to glow, as the markings would seem to turn red for a moment before turning back to deep black. ”In the wake of death all mortal things shall fade away to dust.” Sean muttered as his voice echoed and within an instant the contorting air would rip open, a bleeding sore within the air. Across this dimensional rip was what appeared to be a tossing ocean bathed within night, wave cresting a frothy white as a source of light would rise from the darkness of the ocean.

Sean would take a deep breath and step through the portal, feeling the cold ocean breeze brush along his skin and sending goosebumps along his flesh. The chaotic nature of the place would appeal to the small amount of Yam's blood that remained, and drew a primal smile along his lips. What he was met with was a strange looking construct, one that resembled an oil rig almost in build though something about it interested Sean as he levitated over the waters, one foot being lapped at by the salty waters. ”Now where is she?” he muttered floating forward as a wind blew across his face, and caused some of his black hair to fall from place. ”Further down? So the place goes further down?” Sean questioned to himself amused as he neared, until he was close enough to press his palm against the carrier.

”Before I get to work, I think I should teach these humans about kidnapping my kind.” He muttered as the dark energy, lined with red would form within his hand into a small sphere.

”Now.” Within an instant he unleashed a powerful burst of nether that tore through some of the supports that would cause the place to lean, not enough to knock anything into the water but enough to let the humans know what was happening. Leaning forward and flying quickly upwards with a shield of nether around him, Sean would land upon the platform where most helicopters were landed. His singular silver eye would dart about as billowing smoke clouds would flow into the air as well as some flames, Sean smirking as he would search for a way to go further into the facility.

This is Where Science Plays God (Closed) Empty Re: This is Where Science Plays God (Closed)

Post by Elena Vexus June 27th 2014, 2:09 pm

Vexus was having trouble sleeping. It was rare for her to get a good nights sleep in anyways. She had been robotic for so long and with no need for sleep it was difficult for her to adjust. It was strange, remembering that she was a robot at one point. How she looked different and acted different. Essentially she was a totally different person now. As if she had been reincarnated, but with complete retention of her past lives. In order to keep her mind calm she began to work on some equations. Time dragged by and soon it was deep into the night. She had gotten some preliminary work out of the way, just some smaller notes that she wouldn't have to edit or review when she returned home.
Very suddenly the entire facility began to shake violently and then started to lean into the sea. Vexus stumbled to the wall to hold her ground, soon after there was a sharp knock on her door calling for her. She opened it and one of the Russian scientists awaited her.
"There's be a malfunction with one of the supports. This facility is no longer stable and we need to evacuate." He urged her to come with her immediately, but Vexus insisted that she gather her things and that she will meet them on the helicopter pad as instructed. She threw all the research that she had in her room into her Jamais De Fin d'Embrayage and slung that over her shoulder. She then quickly set off to some of the experimentation rooms in order to grab some samples, not to mention a few other things that they had not initially agreed on her taking. But this was an emergency and it would be extremely important to preserve as much information as possible, or at least that's how she would justify it for herself.

After gathering what she needed, and slipping on a number of her jewels, she made her way to the helipad. All of the lights on the platform were on full blast making it easy to see despite the pitch black of night. The engines of the choppers were starting up, but as she approached spot lights were being focused on a single individual standing on the brig. Whoever he was, they were not part of the staff and Vexus was getting very odd vibe from him. She moved a little closer so that his face would come into view a little better. He was young, and he seemed so very familiar. His age is what threw her off, there was no way someone of his stature would manage to infiltrate such a high tech facility on his own. There were a couple of scientist standing by her, urging her again to board one of the exiting helicopters. She leaned over to one of them a and whispered in their ear.
"There might be more of them. Lock everything down and search for other life forms..."
They nodded their heads and ran off to go do as they were told, Vexus took a couple of steps closer to this man, she was now about 400 feet from the man.
"This is a restricted facility. Whoever you are, you are not permitted to be here. We are in the middle of an evacuation, if you do not follow suit I will be forced to escort you off the premises."
She was stern in her instructions as she spoke over the roar of a helicopter taking off. One of the scientists returned informing her that they had in fact detected another unauthorized individual on the base.
"You and your accomplice are to leave immediately. This place does not abide by any neighboring legal system and I shall use any amount of force I deem necessary to ensure your swift departure."
In a few moments a spot light would shine on the accused accomplice as he too tried to infiltrate the scientific establishment. If these two were hostile, Vexus would gladly show them the door. All the way down to the bottom of the ocean.

When the support beams that started to give out, he had looked towards the scene. What the hell could have done it? Why? Were they trying to destroy the base and all it's knowledge?

Another guard came by, and black star didn't like this one bit. Pulling out his silenced pistol, he had put a bullet into his knee cap and kicked him off the side of the oil rig. That was when he was caught by a spot light and he was just really annoyed now.

Looking towards the sky, a helicopter had flown off and tried to get away from the scene. He only marked it as a target and his motorcycle had flown off the rig. Turning into flight mode, as it released a few of it's lock on missiles. The motorcycle, went somewhere else for the time being as it cloaked once more.

Heading towards the helicopter, when they hit there mark would cause a massive ball of fire. Falling towards the ocean, leaving no trace of the scientists as he finally heard what the women was trying to say. He was just caught up in the moment, before he moved tried to move to another location for a better view of the base...because was a on a lower floor than them.

Post by Arcana June 30th 2014, 3:08 am

”If I were these scientists, where would I leave an elevator that would go further down?” Sean muttered to himself and rubbed his chin. He did not take much notice of the spotlight that had fallen upon him, only letting his mind fall over looking for where he would find his kin. He would not allow this slight to go unpunished of course, no, the humans would suffer immensely before he allowed them to die and that meant that he would have to deal with any means of escape. The whir of chopper blades reached his ears, and Sean turned towards the flying vehicles that would fly them away from this seabound hell, smirking as he considered not even letting them leave. A few small sparks of nether would rise from his fingertips, forming around ten little orbs that clung to his palms.

The annoying sound of a woman speaking caught his ears as a few of the spheres would release from his hand, streaking out at high speeds towards the helicopters, one of them taking off before it exploded and spiraled in to the sea. ”I am uninterested in whatever guttural drivel you're spewing out of your mouth.” Within an instant these nether spheres would move out, to cut through the blades of the choppers, taking away their flight and knocking them out of the sky. ”If you do stand in my way, I promise that your death will not be quick or painless.” Sean added as one of the choppers would begin to slide loudly along the helipad, screeching metal reaching his ears as he chuckled.

She was unimportant, an annoying woman with an inflated sense of self worth that he would not suffer. ”Now where are you Sheiara?” he muttered ignoring Elena Vexus and making his way towards one of the large spire like portions of the off shore lab, wondering if there was some manner of elevator within it. A low hum escaped from his lips as he walked with a certain skip to his step.

This is Where Science Plays God (Closed) Empty Re: This is Where Science Plays God (Closed)

Post by Elena Vexus July 3rd 2014, 11:55 pm

These two intruders were quickly called out, and not happy about it. The one scaling the walls of the lab attacked one of the departing helicopters. There was apparently a motorcycle vehicle of his that had been clocked; it sprung to life, took to the air and shot down the helicopters. It plunged into the ocean in a ball of flames. It was a great loss as the scientists aboard would have been helpful in continuing the experiments once their establishment was complete. There was no use in trying to save them, it would have been impossible to survive that explosion. The weapon or vehicle he had used disappeared again, though she was sure it would resurface as his form of transport off of this rig.
This other individual was a different story. He didn't even seem to pay any sort of attention to her or her words of warning. A strange energy began to form at the tips of his fingers, he was no doubt going to use this to ground another one of the helicopters. Though the descriptive capabilities of these energy was yet to be witnessed. He only seemed to take notice of her right as he sent off this orbs of strange energy to attack the departing helicopter. Not nearly as much damage was done to this one as the blade were only severed and the metal bird came screeching across the platform, stopping narrowly before the edge.

This man continued to not only ignore her threats but also issue his own. A painful death? Nothing she hasn't experienced before. His words meant just as much to her as her words meant to him, however what bothered her was him just simply walking away to look for whatever it is he was searching for. Vexus raised a single finger after he has passed her. She did not turn around to face him, just stood there casually with her pointer finger extended. With this she tried to bind this man, holding him in place with no chance of any sort of movement.
"Now, now my boy. It's rather rude to ignore your elders..."
She turned to face him, and also turned him around so that he was facing her.
"I am a woman of my word and must escort you off of the premises." She gave a slight grin and then pointed in the direction of the ocean sending this boy flying far off the platform high above the ranging sea.  She did not expect him to down here, not in the least. He gave off a powerful vibe, whoever he was, and would no doubt had to tread carefully.

Vexus then directed her attention to the boy who continued to move up the tower on the far side of the rig. The spot light had temporarily lost sight of him, so Vexus activated her mechanical eye which allowed her to easily pinpoint his location on the rig to properly aim her attack. He didn't seem like he would be as much of a threat considerings how he was just sneaking around the lab. With the other one making such a bold entrance he would hopefully have enough bite to match his bark.  With the one downed helicopter she took some of the dislodged blades and sent them spiraling towards him. Any sort of damage would be acceptable at this point, this was mostly just an attempt to assess his abilities and maybe bring him down a level or two in order to question him on his motives.
These children had decided to invade this off shore laboratory at the wrong time. With Elena Vexus on board with such precious information she would make sure that every last bit of data stayed completely in tact. The research that these scientists had done was priceless and as much as she hafted to admit it, she needed them in order to properly continue their projects. These two would not stand in the way of the progression of science.

When he finally reached the top of the tower, he noticed the women had sent blades his way. Why the hell was she so angry with him? The other guy seemed to do something more dangerous than him. Of course that didn't merit him anything, quickly thinking of what to do.

He could just be cool, but instead of doing that he would pull out a rifle of sorts, but that wasn't important. What was, is about to be his key as he aimed down the sights and aimed at her at an angle that it would also be near the blades.

Taking a deep breathe, he put most of his energy into the sniper rifle and pull the trigger. Once the bullet left the barrel, it was gone as a intense shock-wave of power that caused the waves below the oil rig to expand apart like a tidal wave.

The bullet turned into a thermal beam of plasma energy that traveled at the fix rate of about mach 5, reaching the target in about .000012942167 at this distance, which was about thousands less of a real second. Aiming straight for the center of her body, aiming to burn a hole through her and leave burning plasma that would slowly burn through the rest of her body, if it worked and hit.

The blades were just disinagrated as the beam pasted through the blades without stopping, leaving him time to see what would come next.
