Utopia Under The Waves Empty Utopia Under The Waves

Post by Jordan Reynolds March 22nd 2014, 10:34 pm

Alexander played around with the amulet held betwixt his fingers, looking at it in the low light cast by the lamp. It had been a while since Matt had inadvertently give it to him, and for the most part he didn’t let it out of his sight, simply wearing it around his neck, and letting the bit of magical jewelry hide under his shirt. It had been a rather eventful day however, save for the part about his father going into another drunken rage of his, and throwing a fist into the wall, and from what he could tell, nearly hitting him; though the trigger to the fit he could not tell. Perhaps it was the rather copious amounts of alcohol that he had? Something had him in a rare type of mood, one that caused him to drink around twice the normal, which did not end well at all.

Luckily now the male was sleeping on the couch much like a baby, and Alexander was resting in his room. At the moment he was dressed in a simple white t-shirt and plaid pajama pants, eyes fixed squarely upon the ceiling. A strange ringing began to silently sound off, one that reverberated through the darkness, as a tiredness began to settle over him. Not that he began to fall asleep, no, he simply found himself yawning lightly and running the back of his hand against his eyes lids. As soon as the tired feeling began to set, so then something else did, a dull ringing in his head that was steadily growing in volume. Soon enough this sound began to cause his head to ache, following this was a flash of light and then darkness.

However his senses did not shut off, rather they seemed more than aware of everything around him. There was the sound of something, metal groaning and the feeling of something cold being pressed against his skin. Along with that was the sound of waves lapping up against something, and birds calling loudly. Alien voices spoke in guttural languages that danced along his hearing, along with a dull thrumming much like an engine. Why was there the sound of an engine, and…these things? If anything, he did not remember any of this in his apartment, which meant that something major was happening now, or he was having a rather twisted dream. His legs felt heavy, well his entire body felt rather heavy and all of this was a rather new sensation. All of this seemed to go on forever, and then there was the sound of something splashing within the water, and then silence, save for that engine.

His nose caught the scent of something, wet and cold metal, as if it were being pressed against his nostrils. No, his face and the entire right side of his body was feeling cold, and then there was a pressure that was falling down upon him one that seemed to increase before simply being lifted, at a slow pace until he was comfortable once again. This descending feeling would go on, until a sweet smell entered the air and then his eyes shot open instantly. The place itself was unfamiliar, a metallic dome like construct with windows that peered out into…darkness. There was only one light source, and that was the cyan colored one that radiated from the crystal embedded within the ceiling, one that was clear enough to see the engine that worked above them.

Something was strange about it, as if he had never seen a construct such as that before, whirring lightly; much like the sound he heard within his dream. Looking back out through the window, he saw something move by and nearly jumped back a few feet, his eyes then turning to those that were with him. So it seemed that they were likely descending into something rather dangerous, and they were….abducted?

Utopia Under The Waves Empty Re: Utopia Under The Waves

Epsilon Sigma Tau is stretched out on a grav-board, hands up in the underbelly of an energy torpedo pod, his dexterous fingers manipulating the plasma cutter in his left hand to sear tendrils of the energy cables off so that he may repair the fluctuations in the power discharger, his right hand is modifying the control panel to ensure that the program that monitors the weapon compensates for the new additions.

His outfit is dampened across the chest and stomach with a greyish synthetic lubricant, where he had been rearranging the hydraulics in the reconnaissance mechanical exosuit, almost all of the technology that was on the ship was in some way damaged by the transit across the galaxy, and it was going to take many more Earth days before he had any of his exosuits working in optimal condition. Sadly, Epsilon Sigma Tau lacks the necessary work force and equipment to repair the Carrier, and is stuck in orbit around this class three planet for the foreseeable future.

The ship makes a pinging noise, and a soft voice says "Incoming low resonance quantam vibration." Epsilon Sigma Tau cocks his head slightly, and flips a switch on the grav-boards, sinking back to the floor of the engineering bay as a rush of fatigue hits him...

He heads slowly back to his chamber, sinking into the thick liquid of the restoration pod, the excess glowing blue fluid is vacuumed into a cylindrical holding container especially made for the purpose. The gel suspends his form, his senses begin to cloud over, honing in on a metallic noise. A creaking, as if the metal was under pressure. His head pounds in rhythm with his six chambered heart.

Unbelievably, he felt a strange sensation, cold. Inside the insulation gel he feels cold, that is not right, it cannot be right. His eyes crack open and reveal a curved bronze spherical chamber. He had been transported, from his own chamber to this one.

Utopia Under The Waves Empty Re: Utopia Under The Waves

Post by Black Steel March 23rd 2014, 5:29 pm

Drakon's body was beading with sweat as he threw punch after punch, each fist hitting the hard leather of a punching bag. Around each of his fists were bandages, stained scarlet from his many cuts. The dragon boy's lengthy ebony tail flicked each time he punched, like a sharp whip cracking in the dim light of the crescent-shaped moon. Just behind him was a handmade obstacle course, which was now broken and scorched from constant abuse by a certain tailed idiot.

A woman walked out from the old house that Drakon lived in, a permanent frown plastered on her frail, old face. She was a whopping one foot taller than the boy, intimidating in just the way that she stood, but was even worse was her eyes. While his own gleamed green in the dim light, her's looked as though they were literally on fire. Taking one look at her backyard, which was quite large, for living in such a heavily populated area, she sighed inwardly. She had been about to chew out Drakon for making a mess of her training course, but she only said this, "Drakon, you must realize that you've already reached your peak in that form. If you're not going to train in a whole new way, I suggest that you get some sleep."

To the boy, it seemed weak to simply give up and rest, but he knew that he couldn't trust his next form. It made him feel...angry, as though a little whisper was telling him to destroy everything he loved and cared for. Nevertheless, the old woman had a point. Drakon ceased his assault and climbed up into his tree house, where he rested comfortably.

While dreaming, Drakon's skin tingled with a strange, cold feeling. This was not normal, since he was always hot to the touch from his inner fire. Somehow, he had been abducted and brought to a strange-looking construct. Drakon's hand sluggishly moved up to his eyelids, rubbing and then cautiously opening them. He could barely make out what he saw, but when he turned his head to the side, he saw a couple of others just like him. Looking up, his eyes were flooded with the light of the cyan crystal above, and he made a low growl in pain. Who could have stolen him in the night? And why?

Utopia Under The Waves Empty Re: Utopia Under The Waves

Church functions were never a good thing for Matthew. Not that he minded the whole Christianity thing, being a practitioner of said faith, however he did not feel in the mood to put up with this particularly condescending idiot. The Preacher was on another tirade about how they needed to do more community functions in order to grow the church's member base. In the end the man only cared about the numbers, and nothing about the people he was SUPPOSED to have influenced. Matthew had a horrible dislike for this man, and being the kind of person he was he didn't hold the information back, nor try to guise his dislike for the man. He twitteled his pencil as he was mentioned in conversation by the preacher, while other "elders" and notable people whom helped run the church sat at the table with them. After telling the truth about how he believed the pastor should attend a public speaking class he found himself confronted after the meeting by an angry, short balding man with a Napoleonic complex.

"That wasn't very Christian of you. I don't appreciate the comment."He said, attempting to be harsh. "Your Father would be livid to know that you hate me so much." That was it, at the mention of his father, Matthew chuckled and shook his head, running his tongue across his teeth as if about to snap and punch the man to death. They had many clashes before doctrinally in their theology, so this was not a "first offence" so to speak.

"Oh really? No, he'd probably applaud me. BECAUSE I love you, I told you what you needed to fix. You CHOSE to be offended by it. I'm only trying to help you make the most sound decision on how to place out funding. you continue to be an idiot and ignore the advice. In the end you'll have to answer for it. As far as hating you? Nah man. I love you. I love you, because that is what I'm told to do and because I just very well do. Christ said to love you..." Matt said, his jaw clenched as he spoke through his teeth. "But he never said I had to like ya...and honestly... I don't like you at all." He left it at that before turning and walking away form the situation as the preacher went on and on. The fact he still had a religion at this point was a miracle in and of itself...

He went home to fall asleep only to growl realizing he hadn't taken a shower after football because it ran late and he needed to tutor Shael. Mom was out again, go figure. He didn't bother getting Cody dinner, the little brat could do it himself again today. He did, however go to the shower and wash the grime off of himself before stepping out and wrapping a towel around his waist and messing with his hair. A toothbrush in hand he began to scrub his fangs in hopes that he might be able to get a ncie clean mouth before bed. He suddenly found himself shocked to instantly lose all form of reality at the moment. He felt rather...unbound to the world as his spirit seemed to shift. He was wide awake and suddenly somehow his senses were all lost to him. He didn't like this.

All three parts of Matt began to panic slightly. The yam-reincarnate slowly began to smell again. Metal, dampness and rust, a rather...interesting smell. It smelled like an old autoshop almost. Then he could hear things. Steam and the like, the mechanisms whirring. Then his vision, where he could see a glowing crystal. Matt's feeling finally returned as he looked to the glowing crystal, a bright blue of sorts. He resumed brushing his teeth, ignoring the fact there were others there (because he did not know) until he looked form the crystal and jumped back grabbing onto the towel. He had been...relocated? At the most inopportune time as well...this was just wonderful...

Utopia Under The Waves Empty Re: Utopia Under The Waves

Post by Jordan Reynolds March 23rd 2014, 7:00 pm

Alexander took a few precautionary breaths, ones that were drowned out by the slight whirring of the engine above them. He was in a place rather foreign to him, and the dampness that surrounded him did not help in the least, as he shuddered to himself, as if the cold around him were oppressing him. Goosebumps rose up his arms, and even along the back of his neck, as his attention snapped to those around them, though they were at best indistinct blobs to his eyes, which were unaided by his glasses. Running fingers through his messy hair, Alex slowly counted down from ten within his head, trying to calm his racing heart while looking over everyone that was sitting within the bathosphere, as if trying to decide what and who they were. It did not help in the least that he was half blind, but the male would have to get over that, at least for now.

His breath escaped through his lips in a small cloud, showing that it was rather clod within the sphere, though he hoped that this was not some elaborate way to kill him. Suddenly the sound of the engine picked up, becoming a louder whirring as the bathosphere seemed to hitch before that feeling of falling increased, enough that he could feel it within the pit of his stomach. Without even needing to think, he pressed his face against the cold glass that served as a window, and even with his limited vision, Alex could see a bright light within the darkness, one that was closing in fast. Pulling away from the window he turned to the others and narrowed his eyes, as if that would somehow help, though he knew leaning in closer would have done much better.

One of them was incredibly pale, even paler than he was, but he was obviously human. Something about him uneased Alexander, then again a lot of people did, so he was no different in that respect. Along with him was another male, though there was nothing that he could really note about him, other than the fact that he was around the same height as himself. The last person was a rather familiar male, he was tan with eyes that were about he same color as the hair and then there was that face he could not forget. If anything, he was pleased with the male’s being there, it was nice that Mattw as drug into this insane situation, though he would have preferred if he was wearing more clothing. Not that the towel wasn’t oh so fashionable on him, but it did not favors within the cold metallic bathosphere, not that Alex was aware of his inability to feel cold.

”Matt? Fancy seeing you here.” He said in the usual fashion, which was with as few words as possible, though he was willing to make an exception in that regard for his friend, Considering the sentence would have contained less words for anyone else; hell, he probably would have said nothing. It would have probably been noticed also that his vooice was tinged with a heavy English accent. He looked to the male for an answer, before looking to the others warily, realizing that he was not so prepared himself, wearing only pajama pants and a t-shirt, which did not help when it came to the cold. In fact he was shivering violently, teeth chattering as his arms crossed over his chest, as if that would somehow keep him warm. If anyone looked out the portholes that served as windows they would see the great shining beacon within the water that looked much like a large city.

Stretching out to beneath them were what appeared to be glass extensions, one that likely served as guidelines into the main city. Long hallways that would lead them into something else entirely.

The eyes of the pale skinned alien focus inaudibly, the complex machinery inside of his iris works with his brain seamlessly, isolating the measurements of the deep sea device, statistics such as possible hull integrity, oxygen levels, depth, and the layout of the city beneath them all, with the rush of information that reaches his cerebral cortex, a being with less mental power would be tune out such knowledge instinctively, only the most base of facts would be registered, like the number of people or the ambient temperature. Epsilon Sigma Tau takes in all of the information and files it away, able to recall every detail.

His synthetic lubricant stained outfit is extremely obvious compared to the night clothes of the other people, looking more like the dense mesh of Kevlar or a soldiers outfit than the attire of normal person. he looks at the other passengers, eyes taking in their outfits, height, build, and other small details, staring for far too long to be considered polite.

Epsilon Sigma Tau flexes each of his muscles slowly, attempting to assess his physical condition, while simultaneously trying to understand the set of circumstances that brought all of the individuals to the same place at the same time... He seems to jump slightly when the one speaks, taking each of the words in and assigning them a possible meaning, head cocking to the side in an involuntary universal gesture of confusion.

Utopia Under The Waves Empty Re: Utopia Under The Waves

Post by Black Steel March 23rd 2014, 9:31 pm

Drakon's breathing seemed to be a little short, as if he were having an asthma attack. His neck muscles tensed up as well, and his brilliant green eyes flitted around the room, having lost the drowsy feeling from before. Now his mind was more alert, his senses going on full overtime. The dragon boy's ears twitched as they heard the sound of the engine clearly, but also the faint sound of swishing water from the outside. His nose caught whiff of sea salt, and that's when he realized, "Holy crap, I'm underwater."

Drakon wasn't wearing sleepwear like the other two humans had been, as he liked to sleep with regular clothes on, so he could jump right into the day. Although it wasn't quite what he'd wear into situations like this, as it was more casual, made for comfort and not efficiency. A red sleeveless shirt covered his toned upper body, while black basketball shorts covered his bottom half. He hadn't thought to wear any shoes, but by far the most notable feature about him was the fact that his tail stuck out from his shorts through a bit hole in the back.

As Drakon got up, not wanting to become stiff by sitting in that chair forever, he felt his muscles give out under him. His mind felt like it was on an adrenaline rush, but his body just wasn't having any of it. He nearly fell flat on his face before landing on his knee and putting a hand out to catch himself as he descended. After a couple of seconds, Drakon had calmed down, his muscles had caught up with the fact that he needed to move now, and he pulled himself together. He nervously smiled at the other passengers in this container with him, showing them that he was completely fine.

The cold feeling still didn't go away completely, but Drakon's body began to heat up on its own again, making him feel a little more comfortable. He looked out of the porthole that served as a window and looked down at the city below, trying to make sense of all this madness. Obviously, as he was the only one who hadn't said anything about it so far, he spoke out loud what everyone must have been thinking, "What the hell are we doing here?"

Utopia Under The Waves Empty Re: Utopia Under The Waves

Matthew couldn't even tell that it was cold, truth be told. He was he unfortunate victim of a condition in which his body did not actually register the feeling of cold. It was strange, this is true, however it was his curse...and it was highly dangerous since he was still partially wet from just getting cleaned off. While not feeling cold was a blessing, being unaware of hypothermia and suddenly having your body shut down was not a good thing. It was however the familiar English accent Matt had grown so accustom to that made him jump. He turned, his face colored slightly as he noticed those dimly glowing green eyes and a strange flexing... pale, near alabaster male..? was it a male? It looked like a male. His face burned up a little as he realized that he was sorely underdressed for the encounter with these people...one of them being a friend, and the fact it was Alex only made it worse.

"Alex? Erm...ehehe. Yeah, this is odd." Matt said, before noticing that the male's jaw was chattering and he could see the breath of some of the other people present. Matthew was glad about one thing...his smell. They were apparently underwater, somehow enabled by this technological apparatus. The port holes said it all though. What does this have to do with Matt's smell? Matt smells like the ocean, and it bothered him greatly, though NOW he was glad that he wouldn't stick out. He made his way over to Alex, his face more serious than before. "They aren't human, don't trust them." Matt said as he leaned over a little, and looked from where Alex had been just a second earlier. He kept a hand on the towel and made sure to retain as much dignity as he could throughout this entire process.

"Alex...are you okay?" He asked, considering the cold. He quickly ran his hands through his hair before thinking of a solution. The Cintamani stone, the stone of legends. It was said to grant wishes, so now Sin had a wish. He closed his eyes and ran his hand through his hair one last time, disguising the manifestation of the stone from his Inner World, revealing a stone glowing as bright emerald as it got. He held it up to his forehead, keeping the towel secure in his other hand before whispering. "I wish Alex had warmth" He said before letting the stone go, rushing to Alex and floating there, burning as an emerald fire but not actually singing the skin, granting the other male a warmth that could easily combat the cold. and give off a nice emerald illumination. Matt moved carefully watching the others, obviously suspicious of them.

Utopia Under The Waves Empty Re: Utopia Under The Waves

Post by Jordan Reynolds March 23rd 2014, 10:49 pm

The sound of a familiar voice drew a rather pleasant smile across the males lips as he scooted over enough to where he was sitting next to Matthew, though not close enough that it would invade any personal space boundaries. With this new development, he attempted to ignore the cold of the deep sea, one that was oppressive even through the seemingly thick metallic walls of the bathosphere. ”This is probably the weirdest place I’ve ever woken up in.” Alex said mostly agreeing with whatever Matt said, nodding his head and wiping a few strands of messy dark brown hair from his eyes. The fact that the others were not human did catch him off guard, and made him somewhat suspicious of them, considering that his prior encounter with inhuman beings did not go well at all.

Now came the question of what they were and if they tended to favor the taste of humans, because as far as he knew, he was the only normal person there, though Matt was perhaps second within that regard. ”Okay, wasn’t planning to.” Alex muttered loud enough for only Matthew to hear him before leaning back slightly, yet avoiding having his back touch the cold metal of the bathosphere. His fingers interwound as the question came from his friend, who sounded slightly worried but not by too much. He wanted to know if he was alright, and Alex was not sure how to answer to question initially. He wasn’t dying or anything, yet the feel of the cold within the sphere was causing him to shiver, and possibly even lowering his body temp.

If he knew anything about hypothermia, the male did not want to die of it, the idea of shutting down did not sound lovely. ”I’m…fine…just a little cold.” He said through chattering teeth, hands running up and down his arms in an attempt to warm them through friction. He didn’t want Matt worrying over him for nothing, considering that he was wearing less than he was, and not even shivering, though the assumption about his in ability to feel heat might be an accurate one. Eyes keeping upon Matt, he took notice of an emerald gleam that he produced, and then muttered something into the stone before it seemed to float to him. In that instant it released a warmth that washed over him, fighting away the cold and stopping the shivering that was plaguing him. Alexander paused for a moment, looking tat the floating emerald stone before turning to Matt with a smile, though a small one at that.

”Um, thanks for that.” He said making sure to properly thank the male as the bathosphere seemed to violently jerk, as if passing through something. If one looked out the portholes, they would see that they were passing through what appeared to be a clear membrane, one that meant they were out of the cold water. It was within that instant that most of the cold abated, not that the male really noticed. Slowly the bathosphere was lowered onto a platform, before stopping entirely with a metallic chink. The cyan light would flicker for a moment before turning light green, as the handle one the only door looking part of it would rapidly spin before stopping, as steam hissed from the seams of the doorway.

Slowly the door would open as a little steam wafted from the opening into the larger hall way they found themselves in, container placed upon a platform that lead down to the long tiled hallway via metallic stair. ”I don’t…know where we are.” Alex said seeming to answer the question that was thrown into the air as he stood to his feet, feeling the cold of the floor against them. Bright fluorescent lights would illuminate the hallway that stretched for a half mile ahead of them, and a clear view of the murky depths was visible from the glass that contained the walk way. He would wait for the others to step out before he did so, likely trudging nervously behind Matt.

The eyes of the alien humanoid watch the human fall to the floor, after making mouth sounds of at a louder level than the other had done. Epsilon Sigma Tau makes no movement toward the red torso-ed human, simply watching... Staring intently at the person. It made a mouth gesture, and Epsilon mimics the gesture.. an imperfect slow nervous smile that falls within the uncanny valley. The eyes of the alien register the abnormal rise in heat.... An emotional response. it concludes, and blinks for the first time.

As Matthew speaks Epsilon turns to face him, watching the mouth and movements of the being with the same color all throughout except where its legs met its torso, he watches the man pull the stone out of his hair, making it glow and hover, causing it to give off heat. An anti gravitic heating coil. The device was not so uncommon, but the way that the being kept looking at him was very predatory manner.

The being considered him a threat. This information is filed away just like all the others.

As with the others, when the smaller male speaks it gets looked at with a very disturbing intensity... staring in an uncomfortably piercing way... A second blink comes when there is the violent jerk of the bathysphere, Epsilon's head immediately turns to the place where the door is, watching as the door opens itself...

Rising to his feet Epsilon Sigma Tau walks to the primitive sealing mechanism and down the metal stairs, without hesitation or fear of traps, almost childlike in his gazing at the immaculate hall and murky waters of the planet, every detail is captured, his hand goes to his pocket and draws out a small tube, which unseals with a tiny hiss, creepily reminiscent of the bathysphere opening, and points the laser light down the hallway, scanning for structural weaknesses.

Utopia Under The Waves Empty Re: Utopia Under The Waves

Matt was rather intrigued by the situation, though the fact he was virtually naked next to the friend he JUST made the other day in freezing conditions did not allow him the time nor the opportunity to marvel at the situation. Damnit he couldn't feel cold but he knew he was cold. It ruined a lot for him at the moment, considering he was uncomfortable. That reality show "Naked and afraid" would have loved this shit, save the piece of cloth he ensured covered him. There was a sudden shift, they had entered some form of clear structure which seemed to be heated, which was wonderful for Matthew since the water that clung to him seemed to be frosting and only making things worse. He reached up and put his hand in his hair, breaking up the wet chunks of semi-frozen hair and watching the events unfold as they would. The steam, the hissing and the opening of the little sphere was all well and good, however it did bring forth the image of a remarkable hallway with metallic plated edges, as if the place were designed to withstand great pressures. Good, because if Matthew was right this thing was quite a few leagues down from where "humans" have ever explored potentially. Something within him growled as he noticed the lights flicker on. He stood up and made his way over, walking past the strangely clothed man (secretly envying the clothing he desired to have at the moment.) and stepped up from the Bathosphere and onto a little platform with a railing to secure himself.

We shouldn't be here. A voice echoed. Matthew knew it, he knew they shouldn't be here, but something was wrong. Tee voice that said they shouldn't be here....it wasn't his. He turned and looked to the Alien (not that he knew he was an alien) and glared questioningly, as if he were asking if that voice had been his doing, not an evil or menacing glare, but a curious one. He brushed it off and made sure to keep himself covered as he stepped off into the hallway. He began to walk forward down the illuminated hallway. This was going to be interesting. Matt found himself surprised when he slipped on the metallic ground and began to slide back. Reaching out he grabbed ahold of the strange "Albino" creature and suddenly there was a flash. Matthew's eyes began to glow an unnatural blue as he began to see parts of this "man's" history. This man was not what he seemed. Coupling with Pamnesia, Matthew quickly began to formulate a history, indexing information and compiling g at alarming rates. He looked to Epsilon and nodded, as if trying to thank him for being a "catch" for him. He looked around.

"I don't think we're in Kansas anymore..." He mused with a little hum of musing in his voice. He would lead on if it was expected of him...but not until that point.

Utopia Under The Waves Empty Re: Utopia Under The Waves

Post by Jordan Reynolds March 30th 2014, 2:20 pm

The first to step from the bathosphere was the rather strange pale humanoid, one that was obviously not human once Alexander had given him a closer evaluation. No normal person was that pale, and calling him albino would have been wrong, considering that pale skin alone did not constitute an albino. Only an idiot would look him over once and assume that he was a manner of albino, no he was something else entirely, and his own armor did only help in that assumption. Alexander followed Matthew’s lead onto the railing that existed outside of the bathosphere, one that was likely to exist for them to rest on while they adjusted to everything around them. Which was what Alex would do as his mind ran over the facts, which was that he was far deep underwater, perhaps farther than man has ever explored before.

The feel of the cold metal against his feet was rather jarring, as Alex blinked a few times and shivered reflexively. The first thing that the rather strange one among them did was produce something, and then it began to emit a blue light that seemed to be scanning over everything around them, as if looking for something. Then came a rather strange sensation within his chest, one that could be compared to a pulling that was urging him onward to walk. It felt as if something were drawing him to enter further, to walk along the glass encased walk way that stretched before them before seeming to dock off into the greater city that was expanding ahead. His glance turned to Matt as if silently asking if he had the same sensation, hand dancing over his chest, fingertips resting over where his fluttering heart resided.

”The question is, where are we?” Alex muttered to himself, chewing lightly on his lower lip as he looked to Matthew and then the others that were dragged along with them on this strange adventure of sorts. It was then that the feeling within his chest began to grow only stronger, until his feet seemed to almost react upon their own accord, as Alex began to walk forward. Something swam within the mirk beyond the clear glass, a humanoid shape yet it was a little large to be a person, and something about what he saw was inhuman. It was a brief glimpse, only a flash of something swimming through the water at a speed too great for anyone to really follow, though what he saw was terrifying. The English male took a deep intake of breath as his eyes shot forward, something growing more evident within the distance. The tunnel seemed to be ending only a small way ahead, and hanging above that end was a sign that read simply.

“Welcome to Eden.”

Utopia Under The Waves Empty Re: Utopia Under The Waves

The being that followed him out of the bathysphere slips on a moist patch of flooring, he grabs Epsilons arm to stop from falling to the ground. Images from the past flash like bolts into Matthews mind.

The first is a spherical room, walls of a strange silvery metal that reflects rainbows of light all across the beds, eight in total... all of the boys are alabaster white, and the trees outside of the windows are golden yellow. A world that is not Earth.

A heavy blaster singes the target at the end of the range, all fifteen of the bolts are within the second ring, and Epsilon opens the chest piece of the mecha triumphantly, showing off his prowess with the long range weapon.

The ship initiates take off, launching itself off of the platform with unbelievable force, flying high and out of orbit of the yellow and silver world. The ship has sweeping pointed wings and accelerates more and more, slipping down and out of normal space, moving faster than light itself.

Fire and explosion, alarms blaring, sirens wailing, smoke rippling throughout the corridors. The captain disappears in an explosion of radioactive light, friends fading out of existence, the ship broken and barely moving.

Epsilon is alone in the black void, millions and millions of light-years from his home, from any being like him.

Epsilon nods back to Matthew, after the laser finishes its detection of the structural integrity of this place, comparable to the integrity of the Hephaestus, Heavy assault mecha. In his detection of the place, he is looking in the opposite direction, and does not see the swimming being. He advances underneath the sign. The glowing lights illuminate the area of city closest to the tube, full of tall buildings, enclosed within a transparent barrier, which is certainly not glass.

Utopia Under The Waves Empty Re: Utopia Under The Waves

Matt nodded to Alex, assuming he was speaking about the odd sensation. OR asking permission to move closer to it... though the latter made little sense. Why would Matthew need to grant him permission? It had to be the prior, and yes Matthew felt it too. It was familiar...a silent and almost insensible hum radiated that began to relax Matthew's muscles, even in the cold. He felt...compelled to move forward, even when he knew he should likely stay back a moment. He just...did it anyway though, heart fluttering about and butterflies in his stomach. He felt sick, you know what this felt like? It felt like Love. Matthew despised it, the nontangible concept angered him, and that he had this "similar" reaction towards this source was irritating. "Can't be lucky enough for it to be a tailor's shop or an American Eagle, could it?" He tried to laugh it off for a moment, keeping his scant "clothing" secured. He took comfort in the fact it could have been worse. He could feel that way towards Alex or the Alien... that wouldn't go over well at all, even under the best of situations, it was just an ugly topic with him.

"I guess... Eden." Matthew concluded after pointing to the sign as if it were obvious. His mind was still riddled with the visions seen and unseen through the accidental psychometric touch upon the alabaster male. Blasters, ships and what was obviously not anything on Earth. This man was...an alien? Was that the correct word for him? Long story short, he looked human, but even recalling the eyes. Very little detail EVER escaped Matthew's grasps, and the feint tracings of what could only be described as mechanical within the eyes was more than enough for Matthew to piece together that he was correct, and this man was not human. However, Matthew was more than willing "overlook" this, as it turned out he seemed to be here against his own will himself. They were all lost, and had no sense of purpose here. They stumbled upon a sign at the end of the tubes, Matt making sure Alex and the Alien both kept close. The Sign said "Welcome to Eden", but the question wasn't truly "Where are we".... the real question was

   "Why are we here?"

Matthew had plenty of time to ponder this as they looked upon lights, "simulated" daylight and even some areas of pure abyss and oceanic darkness surrounding them. Was this place...an entire city? A civilization? Matthew took in a sharp breath, but before anyone could speak further he snapped out quickly. "Anyone who says Atlantis...I'm icing at the next chance." He said, though he chuckled when he looked to Alex, almost making it feel like it was a joke. Which it sort of was... Matthew just hated for as many underwater civilization's he's heard of, Atlantis was one he never wanted to hear about...ever again. It wouldn't stop him form laughing a little if Alex went ahead and said it anyway, however... it was almost permissible when he did those things though. Like he said. The accent made everything better...he kinda wanted to hear the word "Atlantis" in an English accent now. Damn his imagination... He looked to Alex with an arched eyebrow, almost as if telling him to say it, regardless he sighed (whether it was form let down or satisfaction was up to Alex's response) and looked down into the little descending plot of metal, perhaps it was some form of elevator, or a standing pully-operated gondola? Matthew looked to Alex and then looked back to the machine, almost as if bringing it to his attention in case he missed it. "You guys thing we should try it? Not like we can go back..."

Utopia Under The Waves Empty Re: Utopia Under The Waves

Post by Jordan Reynolds March 30th 2014, 7:31 pm

The city itself was enclosed within a strange field, though the field itself was not composed any sort of solid material, but a strange energy that was selectively permeable, only letting certain things through its rather clear surface. Matthew made a small joke perhaps to no one, though Alexander found himself lightly smirking at the suggestion before crossing arms over his chest, looking to the sign that had heralded them into the city. Where they were was a place called Eden, which was indicated by the sign that hung rather sturdily before them, the material by which it was composed of seemed to be a manner of copper. The words themselves were emblazoned in a light blue and seemed to pop out to him, as well as the fact that they were indeed glowing. Yet they manner by which they were glowing was not neon lighting, otherwise he could have seen that by now, yet they were glowing nonetheless.

So they had stumbled upon an underwater city by the name of Eden? How did this place thrive underneath thew waves for so long, and how did it bring them all the way here? These were some of the questions that were swimming around the males mind, though for the most part he was quiet, not really letting his thoughts become betrayed by words. If one looked at the two, they would assume that matt was the more vocal one, and they would have been right in that assumption, as he was indeed more inclined to talk than Alex was. The English male was always the reclusive type really, hiding in himself when it came to any kind of one on one verbal confrontation but he could possibly talk to a large crowd. Something about the largeness that made each individual seem insubstantial was calming to him, and that was how he got over that bit.

There was a mention of Atlantis, which could have been correlated to the lost city, though he was unsure if this could constitute the city of Atlantis, considering that it was also stipulated to be a continent or so he had heard from one person. ”Atlantis? I sure hope we don’t have to fight Aquaman.” Alex noted with an attempt at a joke himself, turning to The alien curiously before simply looking forward again, not really taking note of the reaction to his poor joke. Ahead of them was a rather strange looking metallic lift, one that he would assume would lead them into the city, or rather into the outskirts of the city. Alexander looked over it rather cautiously, looking back to Matt before taking a step forward, stepping onto the lift and then waiting for the others before looking at the only lever that existed upon the platform.

Within an instant it seemed to throw itself as the lift would begin to move, and then they were ascending. The lift itself only took around five minutes to reach the destination, which was a rather quaint looking station with…two humans looking at them with rather friendly expressions. One was a young brown haired woman and the other a male that appeared strangely similar. They both seemed personable enough, dressed in what one could call steam punk clothing, Victorian era somewhat, a strange steam powered machine puttering in the corner at is own place. Alexander felt as if he had been transported into some sort of strange anime, not that he really minded that possibility. ”So, what do we have here?” The female wondered out loud looking the visitors over with a rather interested expression.

”Probably another batch of surface dwellers if we know anything about The Mistress.” The male answered sipping on a small cup of brown liquid, Alexander’s eyes falling upon a strange posters that was glaring at him from the wall, one of a red haired woman in a rather exquisite dress wielding a cane. These two both had rather thick accents, seeming even thicker than Alexander’s, though something about them felt a little calming to the usually introverted male. ”Look at this one, he’s practically in the nude. Distasteful if you ask me, absolutely distasteful.” He muttered shaking his head and finishing up the small cup that he was nursing down.

”I would be pleased that he’s wearing the towel, otherwise we would be given a rather interesting view.” The female muttered jokingly walking to another room before producing a set of clothing that would fit the male perfectly, placing them on a counter. They were similar to their own clothing, with an assortment of buckles and other carrying compartments to only accentuate the steampunk look.”And this one does not look like he has seen a day of sun within his life, its strange really. Well, we haven’t seen the sun in our lives so it would be rather rude to judge him.” The woman started and then amended motioning for the mostly nude male to take the clothing if he so wanted and then walked back over to the male partaking of a cup of the brown liquid herself.
