Re: Utopia Under The Waves

Post by Zodiac on April 16th 2014, 7:59 pm

His tantrum was not unnoticed it would seem. Not like he was attempting to draw attention to himself or anything, but attention was still drawn. He couldn't care less if he tried. They wouldn't remember him anyway, so him being animated truly had little consequence at this time. However, he would stand up and start moving again, walking...just walking, he had nowhere he was headed, no clue where he was. His legs were just sort of...on auto-pilot more or less. He just kept walking, trying to clear his head. It did no good, he was like a caged animal in here. It drove him mad. He didn't want to be here...more so than the typical person who was just zapped from home. In fact this place felt...familiar already, however that may be possible...so familiarity and "change" was not an issue, oh no. This issue was not what Matthew did not know...but what he felt as though he knew, but could not bring himself to recall. This place was like... even the words escaped him at the moment. He knew nothing of how to describe a place such as this.

A homely cage, a prison, the shackles of familiarity... a whisper in his mind came, no louder than that of a sudden spark of inspiration. Those words were... fitting to say the least. Though he soon found himself at a nicer looking house, a fancy steampunk looking place with a doorbell and a lotta clockwork. Matthew walked towards the door, as if to inspect it, however a red laser like beam shot out in a linear fashion and spanned across a good three feet before running itself up and down Matthew's figure. There was a beeping, followed by a "No subject available" and the handle on the door turned green before opening itself. Matthew found this quite weird and hesitated, but still resolved to set foot in the house. He stepped in and he looked around a moment. Reaching over, he tapped his ring, the ring of legends. The Ring of Eluned activated, and instantly Matthew slipped in and began to look around. The house was well kept....rather barren if he had to say so himself. There was furnishings of course, but there was no "touch of home" it was all just...Victorian and pictures.

Matthew soon began to wonder what exactly that was just a moment ago. Why a "subject" was required, or rather why exactly there being no "subject" would cause a door to open itself. It was rather curious to be honest, even of the things Matthew had seen of the natives here...that technology was not something to be commonplace. He also wondered how it worked. Perhaps there as a form of "Key-card" that the family held, and the scanners did not recognize these codes and when there were no subjects available it would open and let the family in. It would be most valuable when used in conjunction with a self-defense system. If this were true however... Then I could make a killin.. robbin' the families of Sea-Lab here when their security scanner's can't see me. Matthew was shocked at himself, but he brushed the thought off. He would never actually go through with stealing anything. Or so he believed until his eyes were forced to feast upon a Bible, a cup of coffee, a news paper with a wanted Ad, and a picture. The picture shocked him, made him speechless and panicked immediately as his heart began to race.

He took to the picture, picking it up and glaring at it intently, studying it's every feature. The woman with tanned skin, the male with fare skin and brown hair, the little one in the mother's arms with tanned skin, and an older sibling with blended skin, black hair...and the bump in the woman's tummy highly suggested that there was a third one coming...or she had serious liver issues. Matt took a good, long glare at the man's smiling face. How he wanted to slug the smirk off the ugly mug. He turned it, and slammed the picture into the table, shattering the glass as he turned and looked to the newspaper with the wanted ad. "Wanted Alive: The Minister." and there was a man with a hood, a mask on his face and a Bible in his hands. Matthew pulled over the Bible on the table and opened it to the first page...seething with rage as he swept the book up in his arms and turned, pulling the paper and the newspaper with him as he walked out of the house. He dropped his invisible guise as he began on the war path towards those other two whom he had left with Alexander. Looks like this "Matron" or "Matriarch" or whatever was of use to him. This was...oddly pleasing was all he could think to himself as his blue eyes slowly began to molt into a more purplish hue, and soon they would be magenta, and soon after still red...if he couldn't control his emotions.... the next task was finding Alex... time to backtrack.

Matthew bumps into his unlikely companion, Epsilon is in the midst of an argument with a stall owning merchant, each speaking in their own language that the other cannot understand, The large, red-faced man is screaming at Epsilon to put something back while Epsilon keeps jabbering back, face placid and calm as the large man seems to get more and more furious about the apparently steam powered pistol that Epsilon is fiddling with...

"Deeia reddekutaksa mewntaihuntrekkidakash" Epsilon says as he removes a spring and a gear with one hand, "your duty nwoeir vun deq vun"

"I don't give a damn about no red 'cutsa, Just put that down ya crazy bastard!"

Epsilon is oblivious to the orders and insults, working the bronze metal dexterously

Tony looked rather awkwardly to the lone English male, cocking an eyebrow before turning to his sibling. ”So what do we do?” He would ask her, chewing slowly on his lower lip before looking back to Alexander, who was for all intensive purposes alone. While they could not remember anything regarding Matthew, he did and he was….ditched for a lack of better words. The two seemed to shrink back, chattering amongst themselves while Alexander twiddled his thumbs so to speak, humming lightly to himself as he did. Well, what did someone do when they were stuck in an unknown place alone with two unknown people? Normally someone would freak out, and Alex was freaking out, just not outwardly. Well now it was him sitting there, and the two kind of talking amongst themselves for the most part. Yeah, he was not the in the best of situations now.

Matthew made his way back, he could see Alexander on the bench. He wasn't sure if he was acting funny again, he certainly didn't feel too funny. Then again even if he did feel that way it was drowned out quite easily by the sense of movement and motivation that he had. He began to pass his little friend (the alien) and walked right up to Alex and smiled as nicely as he could as he snapped his fingers, the Cintamani stone would vibrate and hum gently as he tried to fight for freedom to return to it's master. It went to the air and into the clasping tips of Matt's fingers. "Just need it a sec." Matt said reassuringly with a wink before turning around and placing the stone to his head.

"I wish I could speak and learn this creatures language. I wish I could get that damn gun away from him." Matthew said, the stone began to glow, and then his deep oceanic eyes began to glow as well. His tongue began to hum, and tingle as if it had been asleep and suddenly awoken. He looked to Epsilon and folded his left arm in, tossing the Cintamani stone in the air, the stone seeking Alexander once more and dropping itself on his lap. He then folded the other arm, smiling with the power the stone had just bestowed upon him. (+2 ABL: Omnilinguism/ +2 ABL: Telekinesis) With his hand out, the gun telekinetically flew to his hand from the aliens with the force of an average human's strength. With the gun in his hand he looked to Epsilon, now perfectly able to understand the man without any issues what-so-ever, as well as being able to speak the language. "Listen up. I can respect that you may not be used to this. But you are not allowed to simply take this up. No one here can understand you, just as you can't understand them. I can "make" you understand them if you'd like, but I need you to work with me. Stop wandering off. If you want me to help you with the language barrier, I will...let me deal with these two whack-jobs first." MAtthew said in the alien's language. The wonders of the stone never ceased. He walked up and placed the gun down to the man and apologized on behalf of the alien before turning back and walking up to Alex. "Thanks mate." Matt said with a smirk as he passed Alex and glared at the other two, completely forgetting the fact they wouldn't remember him.

"Hey, Tony and Alice. Can ya space a sec, gotta talk to him." Matt requested as he sat down on the bench, back with Alex. He smirked and looked back to his friend before sighing. "So this place just keeps getting better and better. Christians are terrorists I guess... WELL.... we ARE but that's beside the point. Look at this." Matt said, showing the wanted ad in the poster. "No religion, tons of tech, and utopia in ignorance. Orwell would piss himself... what do ya make of all this? You're a bright guy...I think... what do we do?" He asked the male before signaling for the alien to come over now.

Re: Utopia Under The Waves

Post by Eric Slattery on April 22nd 2014, 10:45 pm

Soon enough Matt returned from wherever it was that he was in the first place, Alexander cocking an eyebrow, curious as to where he was and even more curious as to why he had left. His mind was still running over everything that had transpired, but one of those was why he had suddenly reacted so negatively, as if he had done something wrong to Matthew or something along those lines. One could say that it was the worrying alone that killed him, or rather was eating him slowly inside, but then again those were all great exaggerations. A low green light would rise from the stone that Matthew had given him as it levitated into the air and returned to its previous owner, though it was the friendly smile that disarmed him more than anything, something that he was not expecting at all.

Which explained the rather puzzled look on his own face, not that it really remained there for long, as the male seemed to be a blur of motion, going from one thing to the next. Something about his eyes changed, but then again Alexander thought nothing of it, as his attention snapped to his own hands, which were clenching tightly, knuckles turning a snow white. As soon as that was done, the stone would seek him once again and land softly within his lap, returning to its dark green color, fingers curling around the stone and holding it upwards, examining it silently. A strange stone it was and something that he did not quite understand, granted he understand little when it came to the world of the occult, the young male was rather easy to baffle.

Strange how such a mundane looking stone had such great power held within it, something that his mind could still not wrap around, not that he really thought that he could understand it. So for now he would simply enjoy the luster within it, letting it rest on his right palm, tongue dancing over his lips lightly, moistening them and part of it was out of nervous habit. Matthew spouted something in an alien sounding language, shouting at the strange male that seemed to know almost nothing about what was happening. His gaze then turned to the twins who were giving Matthew a rather strange look…as if they did not know him at all, thought that was to be expected, of what he had said held any credibility.’Do we know him?” Tony whispered to his sister, who cocked an eyebrow and looked back to the male with an equally puzzled look.

”I don’t think we do, but maybe he’s one of the newcomers.” She muttered back, both a little confused at the male that had asked them to step back, even though they had done just that. Nothing was really making sense to the two, but they were slightly curious. Alexander’s eyes narrowed upon looking at a strange wanted poster held before him, something about it morbidly interesting him. What would they do however, now that they were stuck within this utopian society? His mind ran over that as fast as possible, and yet nothing came to mind, Alexander chewing on his lower lip gingerly, as he attempted to think this over.

’I would guess….that we find a way out of here. There’s likely a way to get out of here, I…just don’t know yet, but this Mistress might know something about a way out.” He hypothesized outloud, looking to Matt as if silently asking what her thought.

Matthew just nodded, his situation becoming just a little clearer. He stood up and looked back to the twins before cracking his knuckles and sighing. He had a little bit of a personal vendetta to service while he was here though. Unfortunately the seasons changed, and there was nothing but murder on the mind. Well... not really murder, however it was an intense feeling of rage and a desire to hurt a particular male. He looked to Alex before nodding with a feigned smile and returning his gaze to Tony and Alice. He would have to resign himself...for the moment, though he kept his new "Bible" and his new wanted poster close and out of sight of the two fools. He knew exactly how to cover things, but he would need to make sure they could get him to someone who knew what they were doing.

"Alright. We're ready to meet this "Mistress" of yours. Ruler of the city, etc. etc. That is of course if Tony-boy can still pull those strings for us." Matt said, finally realizing that they had forgotten him. He did not care, honestly. He knew them for all of three seconds and they managed to irritate him. The fact a toaster looks sad is more likely to upset Matt than these twerps not remembering. He did, however remain ever vigilant against this Tony and Alice. He didn't care how nice or sweet they seemed. In the end they were just pawns in the game of chess... and Sin was making his move, even though Matthew didn't know it.

Re: Utopia Under The Waves

Post by Eric Slattery on April 22nd 2014, 11:55 pm

Alexander was unsure what to expect at this point really, something about Matthew seeming more distant than before, and Alexander even cringed inadvertently at the smile shot at him. He could not quite consider what to do at this point, his mind a muddled pool of thoughts that were clashing together and then falling into the proverbial ditch so to speak. Something was bothering his friend, and he could not quite place what that something was, though his gut told him that it was him, eating away much like an acid almost. The dark haired male pressed a hand against his own gut, feeling the uneasy sensation rowing within it and rising to his chest, until it consumed his own torso, the blond known as Tony seeming to take notice of the unease about him with a cocked eyebrow. What he thought about the matter as a whole was unknown, as Matthew then began to address the two.

Anthony cocked his head to the side, a little confused of the unknown male but not really openly questioning who he was, just writing him off as a friend of the English male, considering that they seemed to have a familiarity about them, or rather seemed to know each other. Yet he could see that the one with the startling blue eyes was not at ease, and his own abilities also allowed him to feel it, as well as a certain irritation within the air, one that caused the hair upon the back of his neck to bristle slightly. The male wanted to see The Mistress and it was their duty to bring all newcomers to the matron, if that was what they desired and sometimes it was not, and they were brought against their will anyway, oh how wonderful the system was.

”Erm…sure, we can do that.” He answered unsure of who this guy was, but not really aiming to say no to his…order it seemed. ”Alright then, I guess you two should…follow us.” He muttered before motioning for them to follow, and the siblings would lead on, moving through the street and weaving around the many people that moved around the city. Tony hummed something lightly to himself and Alice would occasionally shoot them glances, curious about who the tan male was but not really venturing to ask who he was. Soon enough they would reach what appeared to be a lift of some kind, supported by large steel cables interwoven to supports an immense amount of weight. It seemed like this was how they would reach the one known as The Mistress, a large building; a tower jutting out in the distance of the underwater city.

It was built much like skyscraper, yet something about it interested Alexander, as his eyes narrowed trying to get a better view of it. Unlucky for him, he was without his glasses and blinder for it. ”Alright, everyone step in.” The male noted with the same chipper tone, stepping onto the lift first and then looking to the others as if waiting for them to step on. Alexander would step on only after Matthew, and Alice did so before the tan male.

Re: Utopia Under The Waves

Post by Zodiac on April 24th 2014, 4:30 pm

That seemed to be the only thing he needed to say. Despite them having no idea who he was, they would seemingly let him meet the supposed leader of this city. Matthew was anxious, to say the least. It made him suspect that this person was probably under some order to bring them as it was. Who else would just randomly bring random strangers to the head of a city. He would follow them, but not before he saw Alexander come with them would he vacate an area. The alien being, he had not care for at the moment, he could do whatever at this point and Matthew wouldn't care. He continued to watch as this "Alice" girl would glance back, obviously his power had taken full effect. He smirked to himself as he began processing things in his head. Keep lookin' sweetheart. a little chuckle inside the confines of his mind. While that though was certainly out of character, he didn't pay it much heed. Instead he simply began to be satisfied by the fact that he was once again an enigma. When this "Matron" or "Mistress" or "Misfit" ruler would ask about them, her little lapdoges wouldn't be able to tell her anything. Such Secrets. Much Mystery. So Enigmatic. Very Imperceptible. Wow... The little voice in his head sounded out like a bored child before bursting out laughing. Matt himself chuckled at that, hating that internet meme so much at the moment. The woman Alice looked to him and he just winked before shrugging and looking back to Alex.

The male was squinting at their apparent destination, not that Matthew knew that personally. Though it was this that prompted Matthew to recall the fact that Alexander had been gifted with his own eyeglasses. Did he simply not have them? That was rather...inconvenient to be sure. Matthew reached into his pocket, summoning forth from his inner world the device he used as glasses, having pulled them from wherever in the mortal world they may be into his hands currently. Matt withdrew the glasses and with the twist of the wrists Matt had tapped the glasses against Alex and sighed. "These are yours I think." Matt said. The irony, of course, being that the glasses belonged to Matthew...but it seemed more fitting for Alexander to have them. Matthew had learned to "deal" with it as far as his vision went. He didn't think of the repercussions of his actions. If Alex left those somewhere... and he remembered where he left them...then he would probably think it most peculiar that Matthew just so conveniently summoned forth the glasses. Maybe he wouldn't be surprised...but maybe suspicious. Which wasn't good either. Maybe he over thought it. It would be fine in any regard. Matt had followed Alice into the elevator, and then Alexander after him before awaiting their arrival.

Re: Utopia Under The Waves

Post by Eric Slattery on April 24th 2014, 11:13 pm

Alexander chose to stand at the back of the lift, arms crossed over his chest as his eyes darted about, muddled vision seeming to perceive everything in a sort of haze. His lips formed a hard line, mind seeming to run over things multiple times as if trying to figure things out about this place upon his own terms, who the two that were leading him were and this mistress was that they talked about. Alice and Tony would stand together in one corner, arms crossed as well as they looked upon the two males, though more confused at the one that seemed that be outside of their own memory, yet somehow he was with the other as if the two were friends. A low hum escaped Tony’s mouth as he turned around and looked out over the city that would begin to sprawl beneath them, large buildings poking out and some dim lights forming a sort of pattern.

It was truly a utopia, free of all the problems that plagued the surface world, or so it look from this distance, too good to be real. Alexander found himself trying to look over this city, a small sigh of wonder escaping his lips, even though he only saw small blips of light against an indistinct black landscape, all blurred together like some kind of painting. If only he had been wearing his glasses then, if only that, then he would have been able to see everything in its splendid glory, but this would do for now. His mind would likely embellish it to be greater than it was in reality, as it did with everything that he could not really make out. They were drawing closer to the large tower, one that seemed to hold the most importance to the city as a whole.

It was then that Matthew drew from his pocket glasses, or more specifically the glasses that he was getting used to wearing. Sterling blue eyes would widen in shock upon realizing what they were, and then looked to Matt as if questioning what he were, seeing, and wondering how he had them, when they were in his room. How did he acquire the glasses like that when they were seemingly far away from here? Could he simply waltz into his room anytime or was that simply a coincidence…no it was too convenient. Slightly hesitant, Alexander took the glasses, looking them over with shoddy eyes before placing them upon his face, sight seeming to quickly become clear. "Um...thanks" He blinked a few times as the thing carrying them would move through a receptacle area, a low hum escaping from the gears as they stopped within a rather modern furnished reception room, Tony and Alice stepping off first, opening the door and waiting to let them both walk through.

Re: Utopia Under The Waves

Post by Zodiac on April 26th 2014, 12:35 am

The elevator ride was about as uneventful as it got. The Steam-punk elevator rising ever higher as it made it's grand ascent to the place they were headed to. Wherever that may be. Alexander thanked him, obviously suspicious. Hopefully those weren't in his underwear drawer or anything. THAT would be tough to explain. As if appearing to be able to enter his house whenever and wherever wasn't hard enough to explain. He jerked slightly as the elevator stopped. He turned around in time to see Tony and Alice vanish through the once sealed doors into a rather...strange area. The first thing Matthew noticed was that there was a surprisingly modern tone to this room, unlike the rest of the city. He cleared his throat as he moved to the room. From the way the room was designed he would have assumed it was some form of reception room of sorts. Hopefully not a potential "tomb" of sorts. He was all the more cautious now...especially thinking of the word tomb. He stopped and turned around swiftly before running himself into Alex, grabbing his shoulders in each hand. His Regenerative and resurrection factor were transferred to his friend with a subtle flow of energy. Alexander may recognize the feeling, if not completely understanding what was going on.

"Woah. Dude you drinking? What did you even trip on?" Matt asked as he looked down at the ground, the arch of his eyebrows attempting to convey the "Play along", though the point could have been missed. THAT would be odd to explain to these two. Matt sighed as he patted the other male on the shoulder and turning around to walk away and follow the other two once more. He had a bad feeling, and he wasn't about to let Alexander die over something this stupid. And he figured he'd be able to handle his own. Wherever the two would lead them, he would remain until he would have this chance to meet the Matron. He couldn't wait to meet her face to face and ask her about this Minister, and why he was wanted here....and where he possibly was. Sin stirred from within Matthew, laughing silently as Matthew's ire began to spark and lit the fuse. He was ticking like a time-bomb. It was only a matter of time.

Upon the two entering the rather modern looking reception room, both Tony and Alice would consider them a moment before walking away, the male going through one door and the female taking the lift back down to the ground level. Alexander watched the lift slowly move down, still feeling a little uneasy given the circumstances but trying not to let anything show, not when they were in such a place. A few seats were arrayed around the room as if they were meant to be sat at, yet something within him did not want to sit in them, simply standing with his bare feet on the cold linoleum flooring while they waited to meet the Mistress of this strange city. He felt a hand pressed against his shoulder, a strange form of energy running through his shoulder into his body, one that was quite familiar once his mind processed it.

He would ask him what he had even tripped on, and his eyes widened marginally, giving a curious expression to the male that had asked such a question. Yet he knew that there was something to play along with, and so he would do just that, a small reserved smirk forming along his lips, still keeping that sort of air that he always had about him. ”I don’t know.” He answered making sure to look puzzled, looking down to the floor to see what had tripped him up, yet seeing nothing. ’I guess nothing.” He would add with a shrug, giving the reception room a once over again, mostly towards the door that the strange male had walked through.

Something about it gave him a chill within his chest, as if someone were squeezing his lungs like a stress ball. A low hiss escaped from between his lips as the door opened and the male was there once again, having left them for only around fifteen minutes in total, well fifteen minutes and thirty four seconds. His mind had been running over such minute details, nervously almost as his fingers played with the pajama bottoms, running over them lazily. He raised an eyebrow at the two, having only a vague idea that they were there to meet The Matron and that he was to let them in. ’Alright, come with me.” Tony said opening the door into a hallway, leading them onward. The hallway still gave a sort of modern feel to the place, and yet one could only look out to window to see that this place was far from modern, as if this were not only an anomaly in size but also interior.

Their footfalls were loud within the hallway as they were lead onward, until they reached an elevator and that was when he would leave them ”Okay, she’s on the top floor. Just press this button and you should be all good.” Tony explained pointing to one of them before stepping out and letting the two males step in, walking back to wherever it was that he went. Alexander eyed the small elevator suspiciously, looking to Matt and letting him do it. Once that was done, the sliding doors would close and the elevator would lurch upwards. This upward movement would go on for around five minutes until the container stopped, and the doors opened into a rather nice office at the topic if the spire, with what appeared to be someone sitting at a desk, their back turned towards them.

”My, so you must be the newcomers to my city.” The smooth feminine voice wondered out loud as the chair swiveled around, revealing a rather beautiful woman with a flowing mane of red hair. Her eyes were a strange shade of green, and dressed in a simple red dress. ’Take a seat, I’m sure we will have much to discuss.”

Green eyes. Beautiful, Matt liked green, green was good. Oops, Red hair, he suddenly hated the bitch. Matt was an understanding and impartial person. Sadly, red hair was a major red flag to him. People with red hair hurt him, his brother included. The only thing that could make this worse were if she were a wiccan. In truth Wiccans were fine...so long as they didn't have red hair. If they were Wiccan and had red hair Matt instantly disliked them and avoided them. He had no problems with other wiccans though...or other redheads with different religions. He just was less inclined to like redheads...and he instantly disliked the wiccan ones. Matthew soon found himself recalling the fact and he chewed on his lower lip, scanning her neck for a pentagram or some form of wiccan/pegan symbol. He suddenly chided himself for being so quick to judge another. He figured he'd at least give her the chance to prove she wasn't just another redheaded bitch out to hurt him. She offered them up seats and Matthew gladly accepted it, but he would wait to sit down until he noticed that Alex himself had sat down. He was being incredibly mindful of his surroundings, not detail escaped him. He even noticed that little area on the wall where the paint had been torn off slightly.

"Thank you." he said politely as he sat down, no trace of dislike within his voice. He would take his seat and look to Alex and shrug before looking back to the woman with a slight smile. She seemed charismatic enough, and while she had the ugly red-hair she was still a very pretty woman indeed. Matthew relaxed a little, though he was still vigilant in his positioning and awareness. He wouldn't be caught off guard without his healing and resurrection factor. He still kept up his own sweet façade as he processed everything he had seen, slipping into pamnesia just enough to relive the entrance in slow motion to see if there was anything he'd recognize or find odd...or out of place. He would be able to snap himself out just as soon as he had seen it all, just before the woman would likely speak gain.

The emerald orbs examined the two male’s seated before her, that pleasant smile playing along red painted lips, mind running over many things that could be considered of the two. There was no kind of religious paraphernalia decorating her person, nor was there any kind within the office, the room simple enough yet having a sort of lavish air about it that seemed to surprise even Alexander. Well-manicured nails tapped against the wooden desk as she would wait for one of them to say something, perhaps ask something about their situation yet neither had asked, as if they were not as curious as she would have expected. He was at least courteous and that was enough, the female reclining within her own seat as she looked over the two with a small amount of interest. The younger looking of the two had strange orbs as blue as the ocean, strangely blue to the point that they seemed unnatural.

”I hope your reception has not been too…rough.” She began, mulling over the words that one could use when dealing with newcomers, granted this song and dance has been played around with numerous times before. Her eyes narrowed upon the tan male, as if remembering something before letting that slide, intertwining pale and thin fingers. Alexander did not feel comfortable about this woman, something about her seeming predatory and a little…strange to him, even though she seemed to be the perfect picture of pleasant on the outside. ”I’m sure you two have many questions, so shoot. I am here to answer anything you would a question about.”

Re: Utopia Under The Waves

"It's been a bit of a shock, that's for certain. Suddenly I'm bathing in a shower and I'm suddenly in a tin sphere with my friend and other weirdo's that we've since lost track of." Matt said with a little sigh. He wasn't going to ever live it down...the fact he was pulled from his shower. The indecency was the most irritating factor of it all. Granted...he'd miss his mother...and even his younger brother. He wouldn't miss his older brother however... not one bit. So ultimately... he wouldn't have had an issue being stuck here... if he had just been able to get a letter to his family and he hadn't been yanked about and put in front of people naked.

He then looked to Alexander, hoping the male would spark some form of conversation or quickly get his own questions out of the way. Then again, Alexander seemed to have more issues overcoming his introverted nature than Matt did. Believe it or not, Matthew was just as introverted...the difference was that he had to get over it living his kind of life. It was adapt for die...and he had to adapt to being able to speak and communicate. He was hoping for once though to hear an English accent voice up, letting Matt even "recharge" hos batteries so to speak, as he had already seen the repercussions of having too much social stimulation at once. If Alexander would not speak then there was an entirely different issue at hand and Matt would rise to the occasion once more. If Alex did not, he would ask the basics. Such as "What is Eden? How exactly did we get summoned here? Are we to assume we cannot return to the surface world? Can we at least contact our families to give them closure of some kind?" and the like.

Though whenever the moment cleared, Matthew would have his own personal question to ask. But for now he would remain as silent and observant as he possibly could, recharging whenever fate (and Alex) would allow.

To be sure suddenly appearing within the bathosphere would be rather jarring for any sane human being, so she was not too unused to the answer in general, continuing to gauge the two carefully, mind still swimming over the fact that the tan male was familiar. Something told her that what grated upon him more than anything was the fact that he was pulled with little to no clothing, which would bother the modest and even some that were not so modest. Yet there were some that were brought to her in almost nothing, with not a care in the world but their lack of clothing of course had been fixed easily enough. Eyes darted to the pale blue eyed male, one that seemed like a mouse being looked over by a lion, suggesting that he was simply uncomfortable within the situation that they were placed in.

One would look to another as if asking him to dos something, carry the brunt of the forced social interaction a little and for a moment she saw hesitance, yet that would crumble. One would ask the questions, whether it be the mouse or the stranger beside him, one of them had to, otherwise they would continue to be as ignorant as they began. ”What..is Eden?” He had pulled the name from a sign that had welcomed them upon entering the city, and the question had just come up, considering that he knew almost nothing about where they were. The question was not an infrequent one, many before had asked and many more would likely ask it as well.

”That is a good question.” She would begin with a smirk, index finger trailing along the tabletop, something about the accent that reverberated through the air amusing her. ”Eden is….a utopia to use the term. A place where one does not need to fear being judge based upon unimportant details; gender, ethnicity and many other things that one can be pointlessly killed and oppressed for.” She answered simply, rattling it off without really even needing a moment to consider it. ”How you were brought here I admit is rather random, and well….complex. if I were to attempt to give you the details, we would be here all night contemplating the intricacies of quantum physics, and I’m sure you two don’t have the patience for that.” The woman always seemed to have an air of sophistication about her, perhaps befitting of the one that ruled the underwater city.

Alexander would let Matt ask the rest of the questions, slinking into himself as the emerald orbs zeroed in on him for a moment before turning back to Matthew. ”Return to the surface world? Of course you could, though you have just arrived. Wouldn’t you want to see the city for everything it is? There’s plenty of time to talk about returning to the surface, and contacting your…families later. It’s not as if you’re going to…expire anytime soon.”

Re: Utopia Under The Waves

"Of course I'd love to stick around. I'm not looking to leave immediately. I've just heard certain things that made me rather...wary about the subject of the potential of returning." Matt explained his hesitations and anxieties. Of course he wasn't expecting the woman to care, though the explanation would likely make sense. Or so he hoped anyways. "Though one never knows with the whole "expiring" concept. For all I know I'll walk outta here and get struck by-" He stopped in mid sentence. His usual saying was "Lightning" but in an undersea dome that didn't seem real likely. He also would say car, but... he paused and laughed, realizing that the dangers of being here were much different.

"I'm sure you understand the premise. But I understand you." He finally concluded with a smile and then a sudden bout of quiet from him as he tried to formulate his next sentence very thoroughly. He first wished to see if the Matron herself had any real questions, or if she would try dismissing them. He also wanted to give Alexander one last shot at the apple to get questions out of the way. Though he began to contemplate the concept of this city.

Meta-humans galore it would seem. People of all different walks of life, all different genders and all different ethnicities. He even noticed that the whole concept of powers would be useful. However the city was in GRAVE danger should there ever be a villainous person brought here. A metallokinetic would shred this place and flood it all on a whim. There were many things that would need to be thought of to make this possible. Primarily the "dealing" with those who would be a threat to the city. Then you'd need to worry about monopoly and cruel Capitolism. Unless they dealt with successful businessmen the same way they as the villains. Though that would always impact and cause the economy to shift and collapse.

Then it hit him. If a successful "Tycoon" were to have power, and he were to simply "vanish" then the economy would rupture. However, as a universal principle energy and power cannot be destroyed... but it can be transferred. If they "gave" some of the tycoon's resources to smaller businesses it causes them to flourish...and become tycoons and STILL keep the economy in perfect balance. At that rate then it was a cycle...like plants. however it made Matthew wonder. In the end...WHAT was the farmer reaping out of this? What resources could one possibly get form such a closed economy such as this?

That sparked another idea. Where were the merchants getting their goods from? If they were created...where does one get the materials from the bottom of the goddamn ocean? They were getting supplies from somewhere. This place was not self-sufficient. It couldn't be, not with so little resources available at the ocean floor. Something was going on here...the small economy reaping concept...the gathering of metahumans... he didn't like this...he didn't like it at all.
