The Rubble of New York Empty The Rubble of New York

Post by Dannyboyr0x November 19th 2013, 8:39 pm

'You should go to New York! It's a crazy city, and there will be plenty of places to loot!'
Overload shook his head. It's been a long time since he had been in the United States; granted, it hasn't been so long that he didn't know of the rubble that was New York City, but he had expected something different. Everywhere he looked he saw plains of debris and skeletons of what used to be. America hadn't been hit this hard since the Nine-Eleven attacks in 2001.
Glancing around, he notices a small safe sticking out of the ground, with enough of the door visible that he could get it open. As he neared the safe, he heard a woman loudly scream to the right of him, followed by an equally loud "Get off of me!"
Laughing to himself, he started running towards the screams.
'What are the chances' Overload thought, 'that this thug will have anything of value to me?' Hopping the fence, the thought occurred to him. 'Maybe whatever this chick has will be worth it...'
Turning a corner, Overload runs right into a mugging; One woman, and four street thugs.
He begins laughing. "You guys really need four of you for ONE woman? I mean, what are you?" One of the thugs lunges at Overload, who evades it with ease, landing a kick to the thugs knee, when he transcends into a knee into the back of the head, knocking the thug out. Overload spins in a circle, smiling. "Ole!" Holding his hand out to the next thug, who takes a step back in fear. Overload smiles, and sends a bolt of electricity right into the thug. The other two thugs look at each other, drop the woman's purse, and run off down the alley. Picking up the purse, the woman begins thanking Overload, who snatches the purse from her. "Uh uh, lady. Superheroing ain't free!" he says as he opens the purse to find five dollars. "Five dollars..." he says in despair, "I saved your hide for five dollars! Wasn't even..." Sighing, Overload hands the woman her money.
"You'd better hope that those thugs have some decent cash, of I'm finding your ass!" he tells her, before he runs off, chasing the other two thugs.

The Rubble of New York Empty Re: The Rubble of New York

Post by samstan2100 November 19th 2013, 8:59 pm

A normal day in New York City. Well, as normal as it gets. Time Square still buried under 50 feet of rubble, the Empire State building being rebuilt. The entire city has been wiped clean... well metaphorically. All of the dirty deeds that had been done in these streets, on the sidewalks, in the buildings, all wiped from existence. But each piece of metal has a history. Chris, better known as Prime was sitting among the debris of New York, when suddenly he heard a loud scream from down the street. He saw one woman wearing some older clothes and carrying a hardhat with a purse, probably one of the workers just getting off or on duty, but why was she screaming? He then saw four men dressed in rags with a crazed look in their eye. he quickly got up and ran over to a piece of sheet metal that was lying on the ground. He jumped over the sheet metal and quickly turned himself into a negative magnet that propelled him upwards on one of the few buildings still standing, giving him a birds eye view of the scene.
However, just as he was about to pounce on the thugs, he saw someone intervene, and quite frankly, kick the crap out of the thugs.
As he saw the vigilante being able to handle the thugs himself, he decides to turn away as to not be recognized by either the woman or vigilante.
But then, he sees that two of the thugs are getting away, yet he 'feels' that both thugs have metal on their body. One thug has a tattoo running down his back and his right arm, the other has five gold chains around his neck. Chris smirks and then reaches out, acts like he's grabbing the two thugs and holds his hand there. He two thugs stop dead in their tracks. Then Prime lifts up with his hand, flips the thugs upside down and then holds them in the air.

Overload stopped dead in his tracks as he saw the two thugs lifted into the air. The first thought that passed his mind was that they were meta-humans, but if they were, then why didn't they use their powers to scare that woman? Glancing around, he noticed a man standing on one of the few stable buildings, holding his hand out towards the thugs like he was keeping them in the air.
Overload jumped into the air and spiked both thugs into the ground and shouted at the man.
“These are my thugs.” he said. “Get your own.”
Almost taunting the man, Overload walked to the two thugs, and sat next to them, smiling.
“How are you guys feeling? Good? Bad? On a scale of one to ten, with one being excruciating and ten being never felt worse?”
Looking back up, Overload sighed. He held his hand out, and began charging an energy bolt right in front of one of the men’s face.

Chris laughed as the man chasing after the thugs attempted to smack the two suspended criminals out of the air, unfortunately the man chasing after him didn't realize that if he tried to smack them down he might as well be trying to smack down a brick wall, but to give the guy a break he released his grip on the two criminals so the man wouldn't hurt himself.
Chris smirked a little and then relaxed on the roof as this vigilante bent over the criminals to give them the 'what for' for probably hurting and scaring the woman. So he relaxed and just so easily listened in on the vigilante conversation. But as soon as things turned towards the worse Chris was up and floating off the building and started walking towards the vigilante.

"Hey.. get off them.. I think they've gone through enough pain for one day pal..."

Overload smirked at the man. What would he know? These thugs were nothing but scum. They attempted to rob that poor woman - not that Overload wouldn't have done it himself - but they deserved to pay.
Releasing the charge, Overload stood and snarled at the man. "Who do you think you are, bud? These guys, these guys here, they're bad people. Robbing woman, looting stores, hell, probably dealers and bangers. Why the hell would you want to save them?"
Just as he was saying that, the thugs got up and ran off.
"Dammit!" Overload choked. "You'd better hope I don't find you!"
Looking back at this man, Overload couldn't help but smile. "Gold and blue? What are you, the United States Navy? Couldn't you come up with something... I don't know..." he says as he releases a glow of electricity, "...flashier?"
Juggling electricity around his fingers, Overload says "So I can assume that you're the man who lifted those two off the ground?"

"Listen Pal... I don't know who you are or what you are, but there are some people that don't need to die... trust me, I know, so why don't you sit down shut up and let the thugs get away... they don't need to die today just to make a quick buck pal... now.. just sit here like a good boy... okay?!"

Chris Winger then grabs the mysterious man by the shoulder, and magnetizes his hand to his shoulder with the tattoos running down the side of his arm so he makes sure he won't leave.

Overload couldn't move, like something had a grip over him. Taking a guess, Overload looked at the man. "How about you let me go..." he said, trying to turn, "...and I go find those guys?"

"your funny pal... didn't I just tell you to let them go? not everyone needs to die... But.. if you really want to go after them... then go after them... but don't do it because you want to steal what they have already stolen... do it so you can get justice for the people they have stolen from.. do it to make the world a better place..."

Chris takes his hand off the strangers shoulder and stand back allowing him to leave.

Overload shrugged at the man. Turning to look at him, he nodded. "I'm in this world for myself. There's nothing about here that has ever done anything for me; why should I do anything for it? I'm Overload. And I'm the next generation of meta-human."
With that, Overload began chasing the men. After running about thirty feet, he stopped, turned back to the man, and shouted.
"You gonna come along, blue and gold? You're not any use to anybody sitting there!"

After the man ran about 30 feet from his position he turned around and asked if Chris would like to join him in pursuit of the criminals... maybe if Chris joins the man he could persuade him to scare the criminals instead of killing them... but the man seemed hell bent on killing them for his own personal gain.

"Prime.. my name... it's Prime, nice to meet you Overload..." Chris walks up to the man impatiently waiting on him, sticks his hand out to Overload and then patiently waits for the same gesture of good will.

Overload shook his head at the man. A simple gesture like that could be offending to him, for all he knew. Overload stuck his hand out, and sent a small electric shock into Prime's hand. Without saying a word, Overload spun around, and began chasing the men.
After a few moments, he saw the silhouettes of the men, well, at least two men, running into a dark alley.
'Perfect,' Overload thought, 'what better place to surprise your foes than a dark alley?'
Overload takes the turn... And runs right into an ambush of thirty or so thugs.

Chris shook his hand after the man sent a kind of shock into his hand. Chris just shook his head and then ran after the man. Unfortunately Overload ran into a dark alley way, perhaps to get the jump on the criminals, however, Overload wasn't thinking strategically.
Chris used his power to control metal to boost himself on top of the adjacent building so he could flank anyone that might be waiting.

Chris then sees about 30 of the criminals waiting on down the alley way, and ever so slightly lowers himself down onto the street behind the thugs. He then patiently waits for someone to make the first move.

Post by Dannyboyr0x November 23rd 2013, 1:18 pm

Overload noticed Prime slowly and quietly levitate down behind the thugs. The perfect setup for an ambush on these thugs. So Overload threw his head back, and began to laugh.
"Thirty some thugs against one Overload?" he asked them. "That almost doesn't seem fair."
Looking around the thugs, he noticed that they all seemed calm and collected. Of course, though, there were thirty of them. About half of them had some sort of an assault rifle, and the other half had some close range weapon of some sort. Some baseball bats, but mostly crowbars and knives.
Overload began juggling some electricity around his fingers, judging the distances between the thugs. He could chain one blast around the thugs, but he was getting low on juice. He'd need them to be closer together.
He secretly looked back to Prime. "What a PRIME example of your power, ehh? Too bad you're not grouped together!"

Post by samstan2100 November 23rd 2013, 1:31 pm

Prime just shook his head and chuckled to himself quietly while the not-so-obvious queue to Prime was set up. Prime just stretched his arms, and hands out, making sure to point his fingers out as well, then loudly clasped his hands together. All of a sudden the crowbars formed to make one large lighting rod out, although still attached to each of their holder hands. The assault rifles just 'magically' were unscrewed and in a pile of scrap metal and bolts on the ground in front of their users. However, there was very little he could do with the baseball bats, seeing as how they were made out of wood instead of metal.

If all went according to a made up plan that was put into effect 10 seconds ago worked... then about 10 of the thugs would be out of the game, the ones with crowbars, while the ones with assault rifles could use their hands, or any assortment of weapons they would have had tucked in their pants. The other 10 thugs, excluding the ones with scrapped weapons would be left with wooden baseball bats that Overload might be able to conduct electricity through... if that's how his power actually worked. The rest would be hand to hand, or hand to baseball bat fighting, in which he would not have to wait to see what the rest of the thugs would do.

Overload laughed at the thug's reaction, screaming in fright and surprise as they were thrown into one pile. 'So you're a living magnet...' Overload thought to himself as he charged a blast to conduct throughout the pile. 'That's why you can levitate. You push off of the buildings and rubble...'
Overload released his charge, and electroshocked the pile, roasting them enough that they wouldn't die, but that they'd become unconscious. That should appease Prime.

"Those guys are taken care of!" Overload said, as a thug with a bat ran up behind him, "But how are you in the style of hand-to-hand combat, magnet boy?"

Overload ducked the thug, and slammed his fist into the stomach of the thug, and scissor kicked him straight into the ground. Taking the baseball bat, Overload felt at home. A dark alley, a baseball bat in hand, and a few thugs to take down.
Looking back at Prime, he sees a thug behind him. 'Time to see how he takes care of himself.'
