Breaking in my characters

Hello! New to this forum, not new to forum roleplay. Could use some help and bodies with my debut.
For Ellie, my gadgets and guns gal, I was thinking something action packed like a bust of a meta-human slavery ring. Because of the threat level, she'll need some meta human support, regardless of affiliation- perhaps they want a piece of the Press Coverage for rescuing their own or something... or No Press, and you just want to save your own. So, I'll need maybe 2-3 people willing to be contacted, meaning they're known enough by affiliation, are probably on the Dominus's Hit List and need some good press, or make themselves visible and possibly doing something superhuman-y... and be recorded by Ellie.
She's like that. She likes to watch.
I dunno. I'm getting the vibes that talking to an MIB is not in metas' best interests. Any alternate suggestions?
EDIT: Or to go simpler, the bust suddenly involves rocket launchers, and nearby heroes take notice.
My other girl is still pending.
