Meeting at the Gateway to the West [closed to Sarah Milosi] Empty Meeting at the Gateway to the West [closed to Sarah Milosi]

Post by Isak Zielinski-White November 8th 2012, 5:48 pm

A new season had started, or so it seemed. Isak didn't go to university since he wasn't sure of what he wanted to do and didn't wanted his parents to waste money either. So because of that, his dad asked him to follow him and travel with him for his work as a businessman for a civic engineering firm. His father, Brian, was a good man, understanding the fact that his son didn't know what he wanted to do. And this was a perfect occasion to spend some time together. Isak saw the hotel and sighted. Not that it was a crappy hotel, but because his dad always picked the ones where foreigners went to. Some things never change.

As they settled in their room and later went out, his dad's meeting was tomorrow, so they went out for lunch. It was only three in the afternoon. As they got out of the hotel, Isak stopped walking and looked ahead of him, as if something told him too. The feeling he had was weird, it was as if somebody he knew was here. He hoped it wasnt her. That night lady who threw fireballs. She said she'd pursue him and burn him down to ashes no matter how far he'd go. His father noticed he had stopped and looked at him.

-Is something wrong?

-Uh? Euhm... no its just.... shivers. Don't worry Dad.

His father nodded, skeptical, but he resumed his walking. They were looking for some place to eat. They located a bit later a restaurant which was a buffet and went in.

Being a wandering drifter in today's modernized society with all its rules as well as standards held amongst every single last person was a difficult task to undertake.Even though born into such a lifestyle had to do quite a bit to make sure they are able to continue to live in it.Sarah Milosi was not born into the ways of the drifter and as of this moment was struggling to maintain one such as this. She had mostly been relying on odd jobs and the kindness of others to make it by since a regular life was practically out of the question. She had been attacked and killed by people who had known all about her and she really didn't want them knowing that she was alive again. If they did then they'd surely come and try and kill her again.Something she was not interested in.

Sarah was in St. Louis, Missouri pursuing a potential employment opportunity that would allow her to not have to have to give away the information that would allow certain people to know that she's alive again.A sort of under the table business to provide her with some finances.Hopefully things would work out.She was meeting the employer at a buffet of all places.Apparently this man was a huge fan of this place.

This a some kind of international buffet, where you could eat meals from everywhere around the world. No need to be picky there, Isak just needed to choose and eat and this was sort of a plus for him since he could eat a lot of food for twenty bucks. They arrived inside and the waitress asked them if it was for two, a question to which his dad answered by the affirmative, and they were given a table beside the wall of the building, not too far from the buffet section. There was not a lot of people but it was loud enough so people could only hear the conversations of peopel who sat at tables just in the immediate vicinity. As soon as the two men sat down, a waiter welcomed them and asked them if they wanted some drinks. Isak and his father replied and went shortly after that to the buffet. Isak got into the Chinese section and took some wonton soup as an appetizer. He added some dry noodles and soya sauce and went back to his seat.

The soup was hot so Isak waited for it to cool down a bit. His father arrived shortly after and they started eating slowly. Not a lot of talking was done since both of them were hungry. His dad finished his first course faster and went back in there, leaving the boy alone. Two people sat beside their table, a man in a formal suit and a girl. Isak looked at her, eyebrows frowned. She rang a bell in his mind, but where did he met her. He was thinking so much that he didn't realized he was staring at her. The man started talking to the girl, or it seemed he had resumed a former conversation with her or something like that but Isak wasn't listening. He just looked at her.

-So like I told you, this would be a part time job, yes, but with more than thirty hours per week.

Meeting at the Gateway to the West [closed to Sarah Milosi] Empty Re: Meeting at the Gateway to the West [closed to Sarah Milosi]

Post by Forceaus November 11th 2012, 7:24 pm

Sarah met the man who could potentially be her new employer outside of the buffet after a few minutes of waiting.Together they entered into the buffet itself having a few casual discussions about such topics as the warm weather that night and his love of the local sports team as they waited to be seated.Eventually they would reach the front of the queue and finally be seated. The buffet wasn't very busy that night. There was still plenty of tables available for anyone coming in to be seated in.The people waiting for tables didn't have to do so for very long at all. After they were seated at a two person table in one corner section of the restaurant near the entrance they had come in through. The main section of the buffet was not very far away at all.

After they both sat down and ordered drinks the casual dialogue continued even though it was mostly her acquaintance doing most of the talking with Sarah mostly listening intently and occasionally commented mainly in an attempt to continue to leave a good first impression so as to improve her chances of receiving the position. She did kind of need it after all. After they received their drinks, his being an iced tea and she had simply gone with water they both got up and headed over to the buffet.Sarah had not had a decent meal in a few days so she filled up her plate with a variety of some foods she rather liked before heading back to the table.

They spent a few minutes eating quietly before the man stopped for a moment and addressed her again this time with talk of the job offer she sought. He informed her of some of the aspects of the job itself. It was information she could sure use for when it came to heading into such a thing."Yes, that's fine with me.I'm willing to work whatever you need." she told him confidently.

Meeting at the Gateway to the West [closed to Sarah Milosi] Empty Re: Meeting at the Gateway to the West [closed to Sarah Milosi]

Post by Isak Zielinski-White November 13th 2012, 10:31 pm

Isak listened to what the customers next to him were saying but his dad came back and almost shook him off his chair as he talked to him. Isak looked at his father and smiled while Mr. White looked at him as if he was saying ''You shouldn't listened to the conversations of others like that...'' Isak rolled his eyes as he started eating his soup. It was colder than before but it was good. Isak ate slowly and his dad had brought, like everytime he went to a restaurant, a local newspaper. So Isak was eating alone, basically, and he had finished his soup quite quickly. As he went back for getting his first plate, the older man sitting besides him went to the buffet as well. The man wanted so grilled meat and Isak was done putting pastas, greek potatoes and brocolis and went back to his seat. He noticed his father wasn't there, probably gone to the bathroom or the buffet, but the girl was still at the table. As Isak looked at her, she reminded him of someone he met. But it was in Montreal about two months before.

As he sat down and eat, neither his father nor the man with her was coming back. The boy decided to start a conversation with her, mainly because it was bothering him too much and he was too damn curious to let that go unsolved. Trying to be as confident as possible, he started talking to her :

-Uhm, excuse me..... I think we met somewhere or I am terribly mistaking you for someone else....

Isak hoped she knew him because he would look very stupid if she didn't.

Meeting at the Gateway to the West [closed to Sarah Milosi] Empty Re: Meeting at the Gateway to the West [closed to Sarah Milosi]

Post by Forceaus November 14th 2012, 7:16 pm

In her own mind Sarah thought this little interview was going quite well for her.The businessman seemed to be quite impressed with her so far.His reactions to her credentials and answers to his questions were rather positive in nature suggesting that she might indeed just be about to get this job after all.Things were starting to look up for her now.At the very least it seems she would soon have a regular job that would help her out with everything she was hoping to soon accomplish the goals she had in mind.

After another quick review of her resume the businessman got up to get some more food.Sarah turned her attention back to her plate.During all her efforts to impress the man she had forgotten to eat for awhile. She quickly got back to her plate since her food was probably starting to get cold at this rate.As she was once again enjoying her tasty meal she was suddenly interrupted by somebody addressing her.Sarah turned towards the direction that the voice was coming from and saw before her somebody she had met before. It was one of the two young men she had met up in Montreal a couple of months."Oh, you have got to be kidding me." was going through her head as she realized who it was.

"I'm not sure I've ever met you before young man.You must be thinking of somebody else then."She said to him what was a lie in hopes that he would buy it as she turned back to her plate of food. She was so hungry at the moment that it was that that she was mainly concentrating on.Hopefully the kid would believe her and dismiss this altogether.

Isak was puzzled. He was sure he had met her before. Not sure of what to do at that very moment. He simply said a few words before going back to his seat.

-Oh euhm okay... sorry about that then....

Minutes later, as he returned from the buffet with his third plate, the girl and the man sitting with her was talking about how she view the job or whatever he was offering to her. Isak did thought about asking her again but he knew he might give the man a bad impression of her if a weirdo talked to her about having met before but that she didn't thought so and that it might have been a lie or something like that. It all made Isak's head spin so he thought he'd might wait for the man to go before going back to talk to her. Of course, his father would wonder why he'd be doing that, after all he didn't know about Isak's group lunch during last summer.

Isak had finished his fourth dessert as he heard the man with her saying he'd go take a little sweet thing before concluding the meeting the two of them had. He got up and left, leaving the door wide open for the young man. Without giving any attention to his father, he leaned in the direction of the girl.

-Sorry to bother you again but if you're not busy we could talk after you are done with this man. I won't take too much of your time it's just that I need to clarify something. Okay?

He hoped that being polite and by asking such a thing would be of some help. Because if it wasn't, Isak would need to be more persuasive. Just a bit more.

Post by Forceaus November 22nd 2012, 4:22 pm

Sarah was quite relieved to see that her little lie had worked. The kid she had met in Montreal nearly two months ago had believed her when she told him that she was not the person he had met on that day a couple of months ago.Fifty-eight days to be exact if one were to keep count.Give or take a few hours. It was good for her that the curious and rather eager young man to think that she was somebody completely different than the person he had met up there. In some ways she was not the same person at all.The person she was seemed to be changing bit by tiny little bit with each passing day.She could barely keep track of it all anymore.

Her acquaintance for the evening for whom she was seeking employment from had returned. She was glad that this conversation had not gotten too personal because she was having trouble remembering the man's name at all.She started to take a second to try and focus in order to get this man's name down.As she was doing so however her concentration was broken as her thought pattern was interrupted. The man was now asking her some serious questions pertaining to the possible job she might be receiving shortly.

"So I can trust that you'll work hard at all times correct." He asked first of her

"Yes, of course you can." she responded with a forced smile to make herself seem more confident.

The questions continued on for another couple of minutes before the meeting was eventually concluded. The check was brought and paid off and finally he left. Now all that was left was her to leave now but before she could do so the young man was questioning her again. He was asking of her to clarify something for him.She did know what it was that he was asking clarification for but had a good idea what it was."I'm in a hurry so please be quick with this." she told him now waiting to hear what he was about to ask.

Isak looked at her and took a deep breath as in dad, understanding the fact that his son might make a fool of himself went to pay the bill at the counter. Isak looked at her, trying very hard to remember her name because if not he would sure look like an idiot. He was sure the name started with an E. What was it.... Isak tried to remember but nothing came to mind. Isak had even bitten his lower lip while he was thinking. Gosh, he thought, it probably was a stupid easy name to remember. He was there, standing next to her table, and she was probably counting every second of him looking funny and trying to remember her name. Isak was so focused about it that for a brief moment he heard glimpses of conversations around. One caught his attention fairly quickly. A boy talking to his father.

-....will we see that concert daddy?

-Yes son, we'll go see Beethoven.

The rest was just blah blah blah in Isak's head as a cog wheel started moving in his brain. Beethoven..... a girl's name.... he had it. With a satisfied smile on his face, her name came out of his mouth.

-Elise! Your name is Elise. We ate lunch together with a street performer back in Montreal... You talked about people with powers and how they should use them.

-What are you talking about young man?

The man she was with had said those last words. He looked like he was skeptical about what the Canadian had said. He continued since a silence had fallen on them.

-That girl is not named Elise. You are imagining things or you are simply confusing her with somebody else.

Isak looked at him, his mouth open in complete surprise. Elise wasn't her name? But he was sure it was. Something wasn't right... He looked at her, hoping she'd say he was right.

Meeting at the Gateway to the West [closed to Sarah Milosi] Empty Re: Meeting at the Gateway to the West [closed to Sarah Milosi]

Post by Forceaus November 23rd 2012, 10:33 pm

Sarah's job interview had continued on well in her honest opinion. At the rate that this was going that job was hers for certain.Just as the interview was finally being wrapped up it was suddenly rudely interrupted by the very same young man as before. He just would not drop the subject matter at all would he.Now it might soon get her in trouble.Something she did not want to have happen. The young man had loudly blurted out the fact that they had met in Montreal and describe some of the events that occured on that day.He had even said aloud the alias she had used on that day to keep her real identity as well hidden as she possibly could.

Sarah was about to respond to this when she noticed that she did not have to.The businessman had angrily responded to this rude outburst in a dignified fashion telling the young man off for what he had just done. The outburst had seemed to upset the businessman quite a bit.He seem a bit distressed as he concluded the meeting and left.

Sarah had spent most of that brief but headted discussion between the businessman and the kid she had met in Montreal looking up at the chandelier hanging from the ceiling in the middle of the section they were dining in.Once it was over she turned her attention back to the young man to inform him of something important."Listen young man.Whatever it is that makes you continue to bother me with this nonsense needs to go away.Goodbye now."she told him scornfully as she got up and attempted to leave the restaurant without any further trouble.

Meeting at the Gateway to the West [closed to Sarah Milosi] Empty Re: Meeting at the Gateway to the West [closed to Sarah Milosi]

Post by Isak Zielinski-White November 25th 2012, 7:11 pm

He never thought the man would be in such anger from Isak's questionning to the girl. He went to go to join his father who had just finished to pay the bill and Mr. White looked at his son, his eyebrows frowned, and asked him a question.

-You look a bit shaken, is something wrong?

-Don't worry Dad, it's nothing. The General Tao chicken is just giving me a rough time.

His father nodded, wondering if that was the truth, but he didn't pushed further to know the real cause of his son's mood. They went out of the restaurant and the man of before was there. He saw them and walked to them, greeting Isak's father and started talking to him.

-Good evening sir, I'd like to say a few words to your son. He interrupted an important meeting I had with someone and even though he looks like he can take care of himself I'd like to give him a word of advice. With your permission of course.

-Ehm, of course....? Well, he'll need to give me a few words of explanation after he's back.

The men laughed and Isak's father looked at him, somewhat puzzled, and went back to the hotel nearby. Isak felt nervous as he was left alone with this man. He didn't looked friendly, but neither was he looking hostile. He started walking with Isak, mostly because he had his hand in the boy's back and pushed him to follow him in a way that was acceptable in public. He got to the parking, possibly his car but didn't got inside. He instead pushed the boy on it. Isak was surprised by such violence from him. He looked at him and the man had his hand on the boy's collar, lifting him in the air. He started talking with a deep, unusual voice.

-Listen to me you little bastard. I've been hunting that girl for months. You hear me? Months! I'm not gonna let you waste my efforts in trying to scare her in whatever place she was.

-You.... you knew?

-Knew what? Her name? Not even. She probably used a false identity. But now she's in my reach and I'll take care of that little bitch.

Isak looked around, panicked. Nobody seemed to be there at all for any help. He didn't want that guy to beat him up like a rag. He didn't know what to do. Except trying to wiggle off from his grasp.

That interview. The one that just happened. The one Sarah was still thinking about it.Oh hopefully it had gone well.It had been going so well in her mind.It had been going so well up until that one bit of intrusion. That kid.The one she had met nearly two months ago up in Montreal. He almost ruined things for her when he interrupted the meeting to check and see if it was really her.All because he had recognized her.She was really going to have to do something about that one of these days.

Sarah was now walking out in the parking lot after all of that. She headed over to a pay phone to call a cab to come get her and give her a ride back to the motel she was staying at.She grabbed the phone and got out some to put it in the register when she saw something that instantly caught her attention. She saw the businessman leading the kid away from his father and out of sight from others as well. This was just a suspicious sight indeed.Something that just didn't make any sense to her at all.If isak wanted to apologize again for interrupting the meeting he could do so with his father around at least. There was no real need to do it privately.Especially not completely out of sight from the kid's own father.

Finding this a bit too odd for what it's worth Sarah stopped with what she was doing and went to follow them to see exactly what was going on.Being as quiet and inconspicuous as she could be she followed behind them both. She ducked down and hid behind as they came to a stop and started talking. What she heard was not what she expected. The person she thought she was getting a job from was actually after her for entirely different reasons.Reasons that were just terrible sounding. The kid looked like he was in danger but she didn't want to do anything other than attempt to run for it.

Meeting at the Gateway to the West [closed to Sarah Milosi] Empty Re: Meeting at the Gateway to the West [closed to Sarah Milosi]

Isak tried to escape but this man had quite a grip on him. Isak had to do something quick because his dad would have him back in pieces. Or wrecked very badly. In any case, things would be ugly, but Isak knew he'd have to act in either a wise bluff or a daring one. Like bargaining with the man. That would probably be the best way to get out of it in good shape, he thought. He stopped wiggling and looked the man in his eyes and spoke with the most confident voice he could find.

-It's because I wanted to be sure it was her so I could give her something very special.

The man kept his grip but he looked somewhat interested and skeptical about what the boy had just said. With a tone reflecting his state of mind, he asked with a rather rude voice.

-What is that ''something''?

-Well if you beat me up you'll never know.

The man had this cheeky grin on his face, as if he was saying ''Don't dare me kid'', and he looked around them before answering back.

-Well how about you go at your hotel room and go pick it up. Sounds fair to me.

The boy never thought that this psycho would let him go like that. There must be a trap somewhere. The young man had to answer back quick but he was basically silenced by what the man had just said. So much for trying to outsmart him. He started to panic a bit. How was he going to escape that crazy man. He never felt that distressed since that hooker in Montreal. What was he going to do now? He would need some help to get out because that man was stronger than he was.

At this exact point in time Sarah was kneeling besides a car in the parking lot of the restaurant that she had just left in order to spy in on the conversation going on between the business she had been meeting with to seek employment from and the young man she had met two months previously up in Montreal, Canada. She had been completely successful in following them without either one noticing her.Her younger days had made her quite adept at being sneaky. It was a skill that came in very handy quite often.Even in this situation for it was developing into a bad one really quickly.

Things had just taken a shocking swerve. She had been listening in on the conversation and had heard some astounding news. That man was not meeting her for what she had thought had been the reason. He had something else planned.Something that seemed based off of what he was saying was malicious to her. This was just terrible. Why was he after her? What did he even know about her? What could he even know? She had been out of the loop of society since coming back to life.It just confused her.Just how?

The young man mentioned something about a gift for her.Now what could he possibly have gotten for her.It was probably a lie he was telling in order to escape the man's grasp. It sure sounded like one to her.A subtle deception designed to fabricate a method of escape.Simple enough to do.The man was angry so he would be easier to fool than somebody who was in a calm state of mind.He had agreed to it and was awaiting his return.Sarah continued to wait hidden behind the car, now letting her energy flow through her in preparation of what was going to come next.

Isak was hesitating. That man had accepted his offer, but the boy thought he might be followed to his hotel room. On top of that, his dad would wonder why he had taken so long with the guy and right after he came back he'd be off again. Even his father would not bite to lame excuses. As the man let Isak's feet touch the ground, the young Canadian had already decided that a change of plan was needed. He gave the best kick he could in the knees of the man, which was more surprised than anything else. And as Isak was trying to get away, As was about to leave the parking, something grabbed one of his leg. The boy looked back and saw the man with some odd things coming out of his wrists, and they were pulling Isak back to him. Isak tried to shake those ''vines'' off but he was unable to do it. They were tighly in place around his leg and the man had a sinister grin on his face. His voice had changed too as he started to talk to the boy.

-You should have not done that boy. I'll take care of you now so you won't be a nuisance anymore.

-But my... dad...

-I'll kill him as well so he won't bother me either.

Isak started to really panic. How would he get out of that? He shouted for help, trying to draw attention, but nobody seemed to be around as he was getting closer and closer to the man. That psycho was now smiling. Isak's heartbeat was intense as he tried to reach for something to grab on. A rock came into his hand and he threw it at his attacker out of desperation. The man was hit but did not loosen his grip. Isak thought he was done for.
