Doctor Edward Cobbler

"What seems to be the problem?"

The Bio

Real Name: Edward Cobbler
Nickname: Doctor Feelgood
Title: N/A
Alignment: Lawful Good
Age: 42
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Hair: Brown with touches of gray
Eyes: Brown
Height: 5’8
Weight: 160 lbs
Blood type: AB

The Looks

Edward Cobbler is a middle aged, African American man, seeming to have a rather relaxed and calm expression about him. He’s about average in terms of his physique, though he is a bit on the shorter side. There doesn’t seem to any form of marking about him, no scarring or tattoos, not even a freckle upon his face.

Edward’s hair is kept in a short buzz cut, though does stand to some degree. It has a pale brownish color to it, but he is starting to see touched of grey to it. His eyes are dark brown, usually carrying a bit of a light to them.

In terms of attire Edward is usually wearing a white lab coat, black pants and shirt beneath that. While he doesn’t always have a use for it, he likes to keep a stethoscope around his neck. Strangely enough, he also likes to wear flip-flops, much to other people’s dismay.

The Personality

At first glance Edward appears to be a very laid back and easy-going person. He has a very cool and calm demeanor about him, the kind of person you’d want to have in an emergency. He does his best to keep his patients calm and relaxed, easier to work with them that way.

However, this calm and easy demeanor tends to leave him in two particular circumstances. The first of these is when a patient is either ignoring medical attention (Not getting treated or missing appointments) or if they keep getting pointlessly hurt. If a patient continuously is getting hurt and going to him for treatment he will stop treating them, as a lesson. The second of these circumstances is if Edward is drunk. Whenever Edward gets drunk he tends to get a more…playful nature to him. He almost gets to be a bit childish, often trying to perform small harmless pranks.

The Story

Edward Cobbler was born in Florida to a kind and loving family. While they did not have a lot of money the family did what they could to help the community. When Edward was old enough he would assist his family with their charity work to the best of ability. It was through his family’s kindness that set Edward on the path to becoming a doctor.

He worked hard to in school to earn the grades that would surely earn him a scholarship to his college of choice. He spent six years attending school, paying for whatever his scholarships did not pay for through interning at hospital as a nurse. It was there that he discovered that he had the meta-gene active inside of him. Using his ability he could heal people of their illnesses or injuries so long as he understood them. After graduating he returned to that hospital to continue his work there.

During his employment at the hospital he met another meta, a hero who did work locally, but often was getting damaged from fights. Edward promised the meta that he would heal any wound the hero got so they could continue their work. Little did Edward know this would result in the hero’s death. She received healing so frequently she lost all fear of dying and became more reckless in her fights. Eventually she was so grievously injured that by the time she reached the hospital she was already dead.

After that Edward promised to never have anyone become solely reliant on his abilities and decided to leave the hospital. It was soon after that that he was approached by an agent of Avalon and offered him a position there. Hesitantly, he did end up accepting with the condition that he would have the option to turn down treatment to any patient he chose.

The Priority

1. Reaction
2. Endurance
3. Strength
4. Agility

The Powers

Medic: Edward is able to cure, remove, or heal a person’s wound so long as he understands their ailment and has medical knowledge on how that ailment would usually be cured. The healing done to patients is not instant and does take between four days to a week for it fully heal. For diseases and ailments that require treatment that is dangerous those effects still apply and could cause serious damage to the patient.

The Weaknesses

No clue: If Edward doesn’t understand or know the ailment that is affecting his patient he can’t cure it. The best he can do it ease their passing or the course of the ailment.

Physical limit: Edward’s ability can only be done up to five times a day before his ability runs out and needs to be recharged. Getting a good night’s rest he regains those five charges.

The Items

Doctor’s Bag: Edward tries to always keep an emergency kit, complete with surgery tools, some basic medicines, and the means to knock out his patient.

The Minions

He works with a few other doctor’s and nurses in Avalon, though they only have their own talent and no form of ability to help with their practice.

The Fluff

If he continuously sees the same patient time and time again he will refuse to treat them, worried that they will become reckless due to a reliance on his ability.
