Personality: Much like the wind, Leo is a playful, lighthearted and free spirit who doesn't like to be contained. Filled with an intense wanderlust and lack of purpose Leo travels across America using his family's money in the hopes of finding somewhere he belongs. Leo is a risk taker, his philosophy being that if you never jump you never learn if you can fly.

Leo is a communicator, they are positive and inspiring, change quickly and are adaptable by nature. They are open-minded, tolerant, non-judgmental and are good at making people open up to their creativity. Leo enjoys talking and socialising, preferring to ask for directions instead of using something such as Google Maps. He sees everything as an adventure, from a trip to the store or getting lost in a dangerous neighbourhood.

Leo isn't the type of person to look back. The wind travels in many directions but you can't undo a hurricane. He only holds grudges in the most severe of situations and has usually has no problems cutting ties and burning bridges because he trusts that wherever he wanders, his journey will take him to new places and friends and the ones he leaves behind simply weren't meant to be.

History: Leo was born in North West America to a family who didn't like to settle down. The longest he stayed in one town was 3 years and even then they were always going on vacation. His family were rich, but only due to luck - they won the lottery, 543 Million Dollars. Leo inherited his parent's intense desire for travelling and would always spend his free time exploring the town he was in or even getting the bus/train to whichever location took his fancy. The older he got, the further he roamed.

When he turned 18 he dropped out of classes to take up travelling full time. He felt as if an irresistable force was pulling him to bigger and better things, but the force didn't seem to know which direction it wanted to go. His parents agreed to let him travel as far as he wanted so long as he maintained regular contact and stayed safe.

Throughout his life, Leo had felt a connection to the air. He knew that he and the wind shared a special bond and as he grew physically, so did this bond. He was capable of generating gusts of winds at will by the time he was 10. When he was 15 he could create cyclones and windforces strong enough to knock someone over. His parents did not seem surprised to learn he had these abilities at all but were evasive when Leo asked them what they meant by 'it's about time'. His powers, much like a muscle, grow stronger the more he uses them.

The Powers and Weaknesses


Aerokinesis: Leo's metapower is the ability to control and amplify air particles and wind currents. He can use this to change the direction and strength of the wind or weave it into more intricate windstorms such as a miniature tornado. Creating larger scale windstorms such as hurricanes and large tornadoes will be possible in the future but he isn't capable of it right now. Leo can move the wind around people to deflect objects, effectively creating shields or to stand in the middle of a tornado unaffected by it's pull. Leo is capable of softening his fall with an updraft or enhancing a jump by briefly riding a wind current however he is nowhere near powerful or skilled enough to achieve full blown flight. If he focuses he is capable of trapping someone in an air bubble. The heaviest thing he could lift with his winds is an SUV.

Aerokinetic physiology
: Leo's lungs are able to function normally at any level of aviation and regardless to the strength of wind around him. He is also capable of holding his breath for up to 15 minutes. His body can withstand extreme air pressure.

Enhanced hearing: Leo's ears pick up on noise carried through the air more easily than a normal humans, allowing him to hear someone's footsteps from over 20 metres away if he focuses on it.


Vacuum: While troublesome enough for most people, getting stuck in a vacuum is extra irksome for Leo, as he cannot generate wind, only control and amplify existing wind currents meaning that in a vacuum he is just a regular person.

Precision: Leo is not skilled or powerful enough to weave his wind around his friends while having it still affect his foes, meaning that his allies often get caught in his wind blasts.

: Leo must focus while performing more intricate tasks such as shielding someone or forming an air prison around someone. Breaking this focus will end the wind current. He can only shield/contain one small area at a time.

: Wind is only effective when deflecting physical forces, energy attacks (excluding most fire) will simply pass straight through his defenses.

Outdoors: As you can imagine, wind is more stronger outdoors than it is inside or underground.

Tailwind's hair and eyes grow paler as they as exposed to stronger and stronger winds.

Air that Tailwind is controlling seems to pick up more dust and light debris than normal wind making things such as wind blasts more visible.
