“I know, but I can’t just let those people out there die,” Sam explained.

“I see no reason why no. They’d kill as all if given the opportunity,” the Professor objected. “In fact, they’ve already tried that by sending that robot after us. They’re just getting what they deserved, that’s all.”

“I’d appreciate it if you’d come along,” Sam told Jeannie. “I’d feel safer if I knew I had someone to watch my back.” Not to mention she didn’t know how to stop that robot. She might have ‘won’ their earlier clash, but only because her goal was to get rid of it rather than defeat it. There was always the option of punching it some more, but that would be a time-consuming undertaking. Also dangerous for those nearby.

“I don’t believe my ears, are the two of you really planning to leave us behind!” the Professor bellowed. His voices echoed though the corridors as he spoke. It was a good thing the soldiers were too busy dealing with the berserk robot to pay any attention or they would have had no trouble finding the escapees. “And for what, to save a bunch of criminals! And what about us, we’re the victims here. They kidnapped us and now you’re planning to go back and save their lives? A few minutes ago you weren’t too keen on going back, if I remember correctly.”

“The situation’s different now, there’s people in danger,” Sam countered the argument. She knew there wasn’t any time to lose, she would have to leave right away in order to help. On the other hand, she didn’t want to leave the Professor behind without him understanding the reason behind it. Who knew what he might think, or worse, do otherwise.

“And you have me to protect you, Master,” Jeeves unexpectedly backed her up.

“If you had been any good at protecting me, we wouldn’t be here in the first place,” the Professor sarcastically commented.

Jeeves ignored the comment as he continued. “And if you, Miss Vervliet, and you, Miss Rose, return without us, to confront the robot the others might believe you have already returned us of safety and will no longer look for us inside. This would allow us to work on the cannon without further interruptions. And if possible, remotely take control of the robot. Though I must confess, Miss Rose, I fail to see how distributing ‘big boo boo’s’, as you put it, might improve our current situation.”

“And if you’re wrong, it’s back to prison for the two of us,” the Professor finished. “Who knows, we might be rescued again. By a bunch of heroes who actually keep their priorities straight.”

oh well you see Jeeves sam doesn't want the robot to kill them. so we just bop them on the head instead and that stops them, huh wonder if I got a mallet in my bag.

she then thinks about sam question
oh I know will ask it if the chicken came before the egg, I saw it on Dr who, then another time on star track. if you ask robots a paradox it confuses them and their brains pop. that does make sense Jeeves idea that they'll forget about you guys.

so off to save the day. super buddy powers activate!

“But I am a robot too, and my functions do not seize simply because I am asked a paradoxical question,” Jeeves protested. “If I am unaffected by the question, why would it ‘pop their brains’?”

“Because unlike them you are equipped with superb hardware and software to fully utilize said hardware,” the Professor explained boastfully. “Most just crash when they are confronted with a question they can’t answer. Of course, it might also be they’re too primitive to even understand the question in which case they’ll just try to squash you like an egg.”

Sam frowned. She didn’t consider herself an expert on robots, but she doubted something like that would work, regardless how advanced the machine was. According to her past experiences, the best way to deal with a robot was to simply flip the on-off switch. It was quick and efficient, and afterwards the owner wouldn’t show up to complain you had damaged an expensive piece of technology.

“Be safe, you two,” she told the professor and Jeeves when Jeannie gave her a hug after she had prepared herself for the upcoming confrontation. “All right, hold on tight,” she told Jeannie as she put her arms around the girl. Once confirmed Jeannie was secured, Sam levitated. For a moment she hovered a few inches above the ground before she flew back to the laboratory they had come from. ‘Just hope we’re doing the right thing,’ went through her head.

really? most be a tv thing then. luckily the professor had a better understanding of it. and was able to make sense of it for them. so will have to hope it's a dumb one ok

Jeannie giggles happily when sam says to hold on. she loved flying time. it was like dancing in the clouds such an interesting feeling. and Sam always held her close nice and tight. Careful not to drop her.

nice and snuggly it would be romantic if they weren't always flying toward killer robots or some other danger.so think maybe it has an off switch to flip or a plug to pull. last time I dealt with robots I shorted them out with wine bottles but I doubt will find any down here. I was just lucky to be in a restaurant that time.

Sam couldn’t fly as fast as she’d like to. Unlike the corridors she had flown through earlier, these were much narrower and with more bends. The lights not working only made it harder to safely navigate the underground maze. Fortunately, Jeannie still carried her flash-light. Sam was certain without it they would have crashed into something by now.

“If were extremely lucky, it has,” San answered without taking her eyes of the road. “But I wouldn’t get my hopes on if I were you. And they only make beer in these parts, so we can strike a conveniently nearby wine cellar too.”

The suggestion wasn’t without its merits, though.  If they could somehow short-circuit the robot it would save them a lot of trouble in the long run. But how? Sam remembered the river she had seen when they had entered town not too long ago. If she could submerge the robot there, it would certainly do a number on its electronics. But that meant getting to robot out of this bunker on the first place. It would save the people in here, but who knew how much damage that thing could cause outside if she didn’t get it to the river soon enough. Still, it was worth keeping in mind as a back-up plan.

“I think we’re almost there,” Sam noted when the noise became louder. The gunshots were easy to identify. Apart from that there was a lot of shouting, but in-between the gunshots and the sounds of breaking objects it was hard to understand what they were saying. At least from this distance it was. But that would soon be remedied. ‘If only the rest of our problems were as easily fixed,’ Sam thought sadly, ‘We’d all be home soon.’

“Get that thing away from those people should be our first priority,” Sam replied, doing her best to sound as professional as possible. The truth was, she didn’t have a clue on how to handle this. Saying it was one thing, actually doing something about it was something completely different.

When they reached a wall with a big hole in it, Sam knew they had reached their destination. The noise became significantly louder too. The fighting was still going in inside. Without a moment to lose, Sam flew inside. The room was still covered in darkness. Thanks to its red optic, the robot was easily recognizable. It stood in the middle of the room. As Jeannie’s flash-light shone over the ground, Sam noticed several motionless bodies lying on the floor. How badly they were injured Sam couldn’t say, not without taking a closer look. Not all men were taken out, some of them were still at large. Sparks coming from their gun barrels betrayed their positions when the emerged from cover to fire a few shots at the robot before dropping into cover again. Regardless of their efforts, the robot remained unaffected by it.

“What are you two doing!” a harsh voice came out of the darkness nearby. “Are you trying to get us all killed! Put that thing out and take cover!”

“Rodger that,” Sam acknowledged, using a phrase from on old war film she didn’t really understood the meaning of. Following Jeannie’s instructions, Sam made a wide turn around the robot. Unrelated to their action, the soldiers on the ground fired several more volleys at the robot. Sam could hear the bullets bounce off on the metal exterior, but there wasn’t anything she could do about it from her current position. All she could do, was pray none of the astray bullets would hit Jeannie by accident.

“Get ready,” Sam said when she had reached the other end of the room. All that was between them and the robot was a straight line. At the moment, the robot paid no attention to them. Its attention was focused on the soldiers shooting at it.  In response, the robot kicked around, occasionally hitting a piece of debris and sending it flying though the room. None of it seemed to hit anyone, of Sam would have heard about it. But Sam knew that could change in the blink of an eye. They would have to make their go for it now. Without wasting another breath, she flew straight towards the robot.

banzai! sam drops Jeannie on the robots head luckily kitty cat powers gives Jeannie good balance as climbing around on the head of a rampaging robot was tricky. she reaches into her suitcase to find what she needs for her plan.

ducky tape cause according to MacGyver all problems can be solved with the creative use of ducky tape. so she always has some with her.

she wraps the tape around the robot's head covering up its red eye thing. there it can't do anything if it can't see! Jeannie smiles happy with her work then notices something. she is on top of the giant robot that can't see where it's going!

abandon ship time,catch me sammie!

Fortunately for Jeannie Sam had already anticipated she’d need a pick-up or things would end sourly for the girl. The moment Sam realized Jeannie would get off, she jumped into action. Or rather flew, as she was still mid-air. She raced through the dark room, just in time to catch Jeannie -who despite her valiant efforts failed to stay airborne – before she’d fall right into the robot’s arms. The robot from its part realised something was wrong. It grabbed around wildly in a futile attempt to catch someone while still in its reach.

Its erratic behaviour didn’t go unnoticed very long. “Quickly, get the heavy rounds!” one of the soldiers on the ground shouted.

“Bob’s got them!” a second voice coming from the far end of the room shouted back.
“Anyone seen Bob!” the first voice shouted right back.

“He should be somewhere by the bed!” a third voice joined the shouting.

The bed. ‘That must be the same bed we used for shelter!’ Sam realised. Which meant she must be floating nearby. The lack of light and the damage caused by the explosion and the recent fight didn’t make it easy, but as far as Sam could see there wasn’t anyone down below. She started her decent to take a closer look. Not that she knew what to do with the rounds should she find them. Give them to those guys so they could take down the robot, or keep them to herself so they couldn’t be used against her.

“You’re welcome,” Sam said just before Jeannie managed to steal a kiss.

Jeannie wanted to use those things to stop the robot! Hadn’t they already seen enough explosions for one day? Still, Jeannie getting her hands on those rounds was preferable to those soldiers using them.

To facilitate the search, Sam started hovering around in circles. The ground was still littered with the debris from the explosion they had used to get out here and parts of the sealing that must have come down afterwards. Sam remembered what Jeeves had told earlier about not causing any new explosions to prevent a cave-in. she wondered if that would include those rounds too. it was unlikely they were of the same calibre as the bomb the Professor made – after all, who would be stupid enough to walk around with a collection of those – but you could never know for certain. If they had a bunch of robots to order around, who knew what their weapons could do.
“Wait, what was that!” Sam said. “Go back a little bit. There, next to the broken chair. I thought I saw someone lying down there!” Sam hovered towards the designated spot. Half buried underneath a pile of rumble Sam could see the body of a man. His motionless state and the giant puddle of blood he was laying in indicated all help had come too late. One hand rested on a big leather bag. Sam landed next to him.
