How Dire ended up in The necessary (Direy)

Post by Dusker on September 11th 2016, 8:46 am

with Lilu in The Necessary there was only four more members to get a hold of, hence why They were currently outside of an apartment in LA. the apartment was quite small in nature and was in a fairly bad neighborhood of LA. It was kinda like Tyler's old apartment but not burnt into a crisp.

The guy they had arrived at was definitely hard to find, well harder than finding a god. They were stood in front of the house of Malik Dire Faulkner, also know as The Demonic Dire. He was a little to violent for Astrid's liking but Tyler assured her that he'll make sure he's not just killing mindlessly.

Astrid and Tyler had both slaved away at their computers for hours trying to find out the smallest bit of info on the guy and finally found it after around nine hours of nonstop work which had led them to this address.

Tyler knocked on the door of the apartment as asked "Helloo? Anyone here?"  and waited for someone to answer...

Malik was getting ready to go to library as he heard a knock at the door.
He had some large rimmed glasses [that were fake], a blue short sleeved button up shirt with D.VA from Overwatch's insigna plastered on it like poca-dots, some khaki joggers, and Vans.

He grabbed a pistol out from under an end table and stuffed it in his back pocket.
For a mercenary, my apartment is clean...
His apartment seemed to always stay in "Business Casual" mode.
He opened the door slightly and said, "Uh, not until I know who's asking..."
He didn't mean to sound rude, he just didn't let strangers into his house.

"Yo it's okay, we're not cops, we just wanna talk." Tyler answer as he stood at the door and waited for the guy to open. "Oh and by the way there is no need to have a gun on you right now, we don't plan on attacking you." He added, predicting that he had one on him at the time.

the phantom just leaned on the wall next to the door and spoke. "Even if he did have one I would just block it before it reached you." the phantom stated.

"We would like to ask you something, so please let us in." Astrid added in a soft tone, trying to be nice to the potential teammate...

Malik knew from the way the guy spoke, he already knew he was a mercenary. Maybe not superp-...
Was that a spectre?
He heard the phantom's voice and he seemed to recall a similar voice from hell...
Maybe they DID know he was a superhuman...
That unsettled him.
Has surfacing as an anti-hero gotten him tracked ALREADY?
He opened the door to reveal his outfit and apartment and said, "If you're vampires then I guess you can't come in." as he ushered them through the door.

"Sorry about the mess..."
He said flatly. The apartment wasn't even dirty, heck it was organized.
There was a box in the corner full of guns and ammo, the only way it could be called messy was if you had OCD.
He offered the couch to the trio as he leaned on a loaded RPG.
"So, what can I do ya for?"

When he entered the guys house Tyler was confused. He said that it was messy but threw his eyes the place looked tidyer than his apartment, you know apart from the guns lying out in the open it was pretty clean.

Tyler and Astrid both sat down and twiddled their thumbs when he asked them what they wanted to talk about. 'Fine, make me do all the work why don't you...' the phantom sighed as it materialized next to Malik.

'We're getting a group together, you gonna join...' it said as it walked over to Astrid's bag and threw a stack of money in the air. 'If your not, how much will it cost to convince you?' the phantom asked, getting straight to the point.

Malik was completely unfazed when the phantom materialized next to him, he matched his glare every step of the way.
So they DID know he was superhuman...
He caught the money in the air as it fell to him.
Being a merc that came easily...

"Well... I was in from the start, but now that money is an option..." He holds up the stack of money that was thrown to him
"I'm gonna keep this..."

He pressed deploy on his watch so his superhero suit would whisk onto his body, and mock saluted.
"Private Dire, reporting for duty comman-DUR!"

"Okay cool, get your stuff packed and follow us." Tyler said to his new comrade as he started to walk out of Dire's house.

"Is a mansion clean enough for you?" Astrid asked as she waited outside with Tyler and the phantom.

Dire simply grabbed a revolver, two pistols, and his phone.
He pressed deploy on his watch so he wouldn't draw any attention.
"I usually travel unprepared."

At the mention of a mansion, he tilted his head.
"Mansion?"

"Yeah, we live in a mansion." Tyler said as he walked over to Astrid's car and jumped in, Astrid following suit and jumping in the driver's side.

"Come on, get in." Tyler said as he stook his head out of the passenger window...

He shrugged.
He felt as if this was a group of mercs making a sorry attempt to kidnap him, so he was playing dumb for now.
He looked down at his bright blue and pink shirt and at his beige skin.
He looked ridiculous. He looked like a hipster indian with black guy hair... Dressed as a whit dude.
That was a little racist... He thought
He stepped into the car.
"So, not that it necessarily matters... But what kind of team is this?" He asked nicely enough.

Tyler took a second to think of what this team was actually about and what their goal was, he decided it would be about his morals. "We are the kind of guys who protect the people by breaking the law. Instead of running around and beating up criminals we find the boss and kill him. The victims of circumstance will just find a different way to make money so there's no need to kill them but their bosses, the real scum, are all game." he explained, going into a rant as he spoke.

Astrid looked at him with a look that Tyler interpreted as her telling him to stop as she started to drive back to her mansion...

Malik smiled. "So, all the other people in this team... Are they like, good guys gone bad? Or bad guys gone good? Or just good guys? Again, not that I care... Just curious about what we're about."
His suspicions seemed to diminish the more he talked to this guy.
He seemed pretty passionate about it, and that's a hard thing to mimic.
He tilted his head, what if they weren't acting. He would be joining a potentially historic superhero team. He was actually elated at that thought.
But then he thought of the other side, the bad side.
He thought about having to kill this guy if this hit the fan, AND he would've by then been completely depressed about not being able to join a superhero team.
He pulled out the gun in the back of his pants, made sure it was not pointing at anyone, the safety was on, and said "Look, I don't know if you're someone from my old merc jobs, or maybe trying to avenge your family member's death. But, I don't do that stuff as often anymore. So, if you're just saying all this because you SOMEHOW found out I've wanted to be a hero since being a little kid... You may as well let me out here."

"We're kinda heroes who think the modern law system is stupid." Tyler answered bluntly. It was hard to describe what kind of heroes their group actual was.

When he saw Dire pull the gun out he clutched onto his own. As he listened to him talking Tyler became even more confused. He turned his head to Dire as he spoke. "What are you talking about? I don't have parents, Astrid is the daughter of two of the most successful people in the united states!" Tyler said with an annoyed tone. How dare he think that Tyler was out to kill him.

"Put your gun away before I use mine." Tyler said bluntly as he quickly drew his gun and pointed it in between his eyes. Once Dire would put his gun away Tyler would put his down. He wasn't here to kill him.

Malik grinned.
"Forceful... I like that." He held up his gun to reveal that the safety was on the whole time and put it in his back pocket.
"So, I guess I'm a perfect fit for the job... This team screams my name, because common law is dumb as fuck when it comes to superpowered beings."
He put the gun in it's rightful place.
"So... Any cute girls on this team yet? I am in DESPERATE need of a girlfriend. Not TOO desperate though... Just like... Semi-Desperate... Also what are we called?"

Astrid became a little uncomfortable when he said he was desperate. When Tyler saw the discomfort on her face Tyler just smiled at her and answered his question.

"Currently the only woman on the team is Astrid..." Tyler said, breaking the silence between them...

((OCC: When this is taking place we haven't recruited any of the girls. Just thought I should explain that...))
