The Unstoppable Omni-Girl Empty The Unstoppable Omni-Girl

Post by mrbits July 22nd 2016, 2:22 am

OMNI-GIRL
"Yeah, I'm kind of a big deal."

Basic Biography

Real Name: Cleopatra "Cleo" Wilde
Hero Name: Omni-Girl
Title: None
Alignment: Neutral Good
Age: Has the body and mind of an 18 year-old; is technically only 4 years old
Gender: Female
Race: Vat-Grown African
Hair: Brilliant White
Eyes: Blue
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 175lbs.
Blood type: A+

The Looks

Spoiler:
The Unstoppable Omni-Girl XxekqZ4
Tall, chocolate-skinned and more than a handful. This pic should give the general idea of Omni-Girl's appearance (and a bit of her attitude as well!) though starting out she would not have any sort of superhero costume. Omni-Girl's various physical mutations - such as the colour of her hair - were the result of her experimental origins.

The Legacy

History:
Omni-Girl began as Subject 447, an artificially-born human given life by a shadowy cabal of evil scientists known as The Directive. During her incubation, Directive scientists bombarded 447 with intense cosmic radiation from SXR-194 - a strange radioactive crystal The Directive had retrieved from deep space. The experiment yielded results beyond the scientists’ wildest expectations: The space crystal was fully absorbed into 447, creating a super-powerful and super-durable woman of mass destruction The Directive could send against the world!

The organization’s plans turned South in a hurry when U.N. Task Force Omen crashed the Directive’s hidden laboratory: The lab was destroyed, the lead scientists on the project were killed and all information related to Subject 447 was lost. Slated to be destroyed before she had finished maturing, 447 was saved by Task Force Omen’s lead science officer - Dr. Jaina Wilde.

Subject 447 was returned to Geneva, Switzerland, where Dr. Wilde oversaw 447’s development. After careful study, Dr. Wilde was convinced The Directive had failed to turn 447 - now named Cleopatra - into a mindless weapon as originally intended, and advised that Cleo was no immediate threat. The U.N. Special Crisis Council, worried about the dangers posed by a superwoman with no background and no allegiance, did not share Dr. Wilde’s optimism: The Crisis Council ordered Cleo stay in their custody until the U.N. Security Council met and decided what to do with their guest.

That day, however, did not come. While the exact details are blurry, Cleopatra forced her way out of the facility she was held in and escaped the country. A clever young woman with no formal identification, history or paper trail, Cleo dropped off the radar in the pursuit of one goal: Living her own life.

Personality:
Despite her complicated past, Omni-Girl is a remarkably well-adjusted and stable young woman: She understands that she was created in a lab, but has come to terms with her origin and refuses to let it dictate her life. To this end she adopted a civilian name - Cleopatra Wilde - and is reaching out to create a normal civilian life for herself.

Cleopatra is an optimistic and friendly girl who tries to focus on the positive instead of getting mired in the negative. While she is not so naive as to believe the world is all sunshine and rainbows, Cleo refuses to let fear, uncertainty and sadness make her feel helpless. She is quick to make friends, will give people the benefit of the doubt and will do whatever she can to help. Having been denied a normal childhood, Cleo is very eager to try new things and make up for lost time on a life she never had. She is not ashamed of her body, her origins or her powers and will not apologize for standing out: Cleo is who she is, and that’s all there is to it.

While she means well, Cleopatra is an aggressive and fast-paced girl who isn’t for the faint of heart. The power she wields has made her cocky and a little boastful - not to mention a complete show-off when fighting. Cleo sometimes takes the “unstoppable” part of her title literally and charges problems head-first without any forethought. Also, while she does not regularly go looking for fights, she’s too proud to just let rude or degrading behaviour slide.

The Powers and Weaknesses

Powers
Power 1: Super-Strength.  Omni-Girl’s ultra-advanced muscle tissues grant her immense superhuman might. Whether shattering steel with her bare fists or balancing hundreds of tons on a single finger, Omni-Girl’s amazing strength is a sight to behold!
Power 2: Super-Durability. Omni-Girl’s body is durable to an amazing degree. Blades and small arms fire shatter against her body, though rockets and anti-vehicle weapons still knock her around. Omni-Girl’s flesh and bones also mend much faster than normal, ensuring a quick recovery from anything that actually leaves a mark.
Power 3: Super-Fortitude. Thanks to her superhuman physiology Omni-Girl has boundless stamina and vigor, letting her go a very long time before getting tired. She also resists poisons, diseases and other chemical agents many times better than a normal human, though exceptional “super-toxins” and other strange concoctions can still stress her body.
Power 4: Cosmic Energy Blast. Omni-Girl’s body is a wellspring of cosmic power. When focused, Omni-Girl can fire this raw energy as a destructive bolt!
Power 5: Flight. Omni-Girl is able to fly through the air with nothing but a thought, either drifting lazily like a balloon or zipping across the planet at supersonic speeds. While boasting that she’s too awesome to be kept down by gravity, Omni-Girl’s ability to fly is actually a result of the cosmic energy stored inside her body.

Weaknesses
Weakness 1: Cocky. Cleo takes the "Unstoppable" part of her title a little too seriously, rushing into battle without a second thought.
Weakness 2: Heroic. Cleo is a defender, plain and simple. She will throw herself in harm’s way to protect people and will pull punches to take villains alive so they can be tried for their crimes.
Weakness 3: Non-Person. Born in a lab and with no legal guardians, Cleo is not a person in the eyes of society. That may SOUND badass in a Jason Bourne kind of way, but just try renting a room or applying for a bank account with no actual identification. Cleo makes ends meet by doing crappy jobs and getting paid under the table, but even something as simple as a cellphone plan is outside of her reach.
Weakness 4: Distinctive Appearance. Cleo has a hard time going unnoticed thanks to her very distinctive appearance. She tries to hide herself when not out fighting bad guys, but baggy clothes and a cheap wig can only cover so much.
Weakness 5: Vulnerability (Neutronium.) Omni-Girl has a unique weakness to neutronium - a rare and hyper-dense element formed from the collapsed core of a dead star. Over time rare fragments of neutronium have fallen to earth: These fragments are typically studied for their interesting physical properties, but what many don’t know is that neutronium acts as a metaphysical “void” which drains away cosmic power. When in the presence of neutronium Omni-Girl's energy is quickly negated, leaving her weakened.
Weakness 6: Wanted. The U.N. Special Crisis Council is not okay with a potential villain supersoldier running around the world unsupervised: To this end Task Force Omen pursues Omni-Girl whenever she appears on the radar. Similarly, The Directive has been making efforts to re-acquire Cleopatra now that they know she is still alive.

RP Mechanics

RP Mechanic: “Healthy.” Blame the genetics, blame the superpowers, blame the almighty authors above, whatever the case Omni-Girl is stacked and that’s a fact.
RP Mechanic: Power Overwhelming. When agitated or using a lot of her power, arcs of glowing golden-white cosmic energy dance across Omni Girl’s body.

Items
Cleo doesn’t have any items aside from a few personal knick-knacks she carries with her - some cash, a music player, a backpack with some clothes, etc.

Physical Priority
1 - Strength
2 - Endurance
3 - Reaction
4 - Agility

Hello, I'll be handling your app today.

It seems well put together, and is mostly alright. However, you state she can recovery from damage quickly under the Durability power.

Is this just long term, out of thread healing?  If it is actually regeneration, that's a separate power.

Also, all your weaknesses are either not physical or are not specific. Please change a few to balance her powers out.

Hey there! Thank you for taking the time to review my application. :)

Drifter wrote:... you state she can recovery from damage quickly under the Durability power.  Is this just long term, out of thread healing?  If it is actually regeneration, that's a separate power.
Omni-Girl's fast recovery is just for out of thread healing: She can't regenerate wounds in the middle of battle, but she spends very little time on the hospital bed recovering from broken bones and savage beatings.

Drifter wrote:Also, all your weaknesses are either not physical or are not specific. Please change a few to balance her powers out.
I don't think I understand. Her distinctive appearance and vulnerability definitely relate to her physical body. Do you mean something like a physical limitation or weakpoint that can be exploited in combat?

I DID leave her vulnerability a bit vague, though, to make it mysterious. I've updated that section to explain it a bit better.

Thanks again for reviewing my application. I hope to hear back from you soon!

Your durability is even higher than the man we dubbed 'Supes' on here, and that's Pain.

Even Pain cannot shake off rocket explosions to the chest. At least, not without a few scratches or bruises.

I'm going to need you to explain her limitations as a weakness.

Also, having big boobs isn't a weakness, and never should it be. You choosing to give your character a set of enlarged mammary tissues is not my problem.

Tone it down. Also, the 'known identity' can be considered a weakness, but a very cheap one considering your character will eventually not care about people knowing what they look like.

Most heroes that go mask-less do, after all.

I don't know who that is, sorry. Regardless! I have toned back her toughness. I wasn't trying to give an exact measurement of her durability, I just wanted to evoke a certain image.

Chellizard wrote:Also, having big boobs isn't a weakness, and never should it be. You choosing to give your character a set of enlarged mammary tissues is not my problem.
I don't understand. I alluded to her figure in the RP Mechanics section of my application. Are those treated as weaknesses...?
If you're referring to her distinctive appearance, I imagined it could be a weakness since her appearance makes it difficult to maintain a civilian identity. Cleopatra doesn't want to be a superhero 24/7, but she can't help but draw attention to herself. This can lean to - at best - getting swarmed by curious/angry civilians or - at worst - getting a surprise visit from a vengeful villain or enemy pursuer.
I've removed the Distinctive Appearance weakness, along with her Hypercognition power to balance it out.

Chellizard wrote:Also, the 'known identity' can be considered a weakness, but a very cheap one considering your character will eventually not care about people knowing what they look like. Most heroes that go mask-less do, after all.
I don't consider Omni-Girl's identity a weakness since she has no secret life to hide or family to protect.

You can keep it as a weakness, but I don't see it as one in the capacity that you view it as. At least, her large bust size. Her hair, eyes, maybe her recognizable costume. But literally just alluding to the fact that her large bust size is one of the main reasons she's recognized? I find that a bit offensive. Haha.

Cause if that's a weakness, my OC Uzma's big ass can get her in trouble, then.

But, of course, I find that ridiculous so let's move on from that.

It's not that I want you to lessen your durability, I just need you to account for it by wording it better. Because we all dislike our OC's getting wrecked easily, but I also know that it's not entirely plot-fun/friendly for other people when your character is just an immovable, indestructible force.

Ya kno?

That's fair, and I didn't mean to make things weird. I was just goofing to make the tone a bit light-hearted.
I'll re-add the Distinctive Appearance weakness, with the description modified.

I know what you mean. I figure Omni-Girl's high durability won't be a problem since she will regularly be getting into non-conventional trouble: Enemies with laser cannons, magic curses, mind control and all manner of strange dangers. I don't want Omni-Girl to be indestructible, I just wanted it to be clear that - as a superhuman - normal attacks are beneath her as she takes on giant threats.
So, yeah! Omni-Girl wouldn't give a damn about knives or guns, but I would definitely be okay with her getting knocked around by powerful attacks from supervillains, monsters and the like.
