INV ONLY The Homeless and Spark

Post by Dustin Waugh March 16th 2017, 7:39 pm

It was a chilling morning that was to cold to stand with a jacket on. It was like sticking your hand on blocks of ice and this feeling was all over the body at every given point. This was agonizing and the temperature was only suppose to drop. The news team told the forecast like a bad omen trying to get people to stay in doors and keep warm, but not everyone could stay in doors as he knew plenty of kind hearten people who also need the heat but did not have money for that luxury. He started to wonder why the police would not help, but more why the news said nothing of this. People died do to freezing temperature but he knew the homeless had it even worse.

It was time to make another day for David and set out for a little help. Though he had to take a shower first. Fighting a monster made from ash tends to leave a mess. He flung his clothing off and decided to jump into the shower. A little soap there and lather there and in no time clean and back on to what he was planning for. He threw on a set of tight black pants, converse, and a yellow shirt that was on top a pile of clean clothes. All that was left was his wallet and keys and he could set out. He picked it up off the counter and walked out side only to be greeted by blistering winds. "Note to self. No more shower right before I leave."

As he walked around he used his common sense and his 5 senses to find people on the street. He looked for smoke and tried to smell the fires scent in the air. He was headed in the right track and a good thing was he could see hardly any one on the street today. The cold must have everyone sick or on a bus so they don't get messed up... Poor homeless people. He came to the first group and decided to join them, but he did not fit in with his nice dress attire. He stood out like a swore thumb but the only thing they did was greet him in welcome arms.

-Hello Sunny! A little could to be out at this time of day am I right.
_No kidding i left my house and was met by blistering cold winds. I can't believe you all can take this. But no offense... So how is everyone doing?
#We are all good just wish the weather would die down, and who would not mind being younger. the old man chuckles

They all start to laugh as they could only wish for a little better way in life, but here was there golden chance.
_Well guys it was good for the first few minutes but i will have to get going. You stay warm and if you check your tents i left you all presents. David turned and started walking off as he started to leave them behind.
-[color:d98f=008000]Alright you take care.
#Bye see you around sometime
^Don't get too cold

As David walked off to the next location the old men went into their makeshift tents to find a box and a case. Looking in the box they found warm food and clothes plus miscellaneous things they needed at the time, but the case contained 10 thousand dollars for David's hope to get them off the street. 1 of the bust out into laughter and the other two tears, but they did not jump to the chance to spend their money. They wrapped up in the new clothes and brought some of their food out and stood once again by the fire. Nothing but pure joy on their face.

David did these stops non stop almost half the days hoping he was making a change and for most he was since people hardly ever did anything bad to the homeless. It made David happy that he was being helpful, but he started to run out of energy. He stopped on the side of the street and decided he should take a break of his own. "Guess it is time to eat... I hit 42 people by now. I feel that i'm gaining just a little more control of my ability, but not much." He thought to himself as he waved his hand over his lap. Soon a nice hot food popped out of no where and provided his with food to eat. He sat there and started eating with the hope he could hurry to the next group of people.

INV ONLY Re: The Homeless and Spark

Post by Champion March 16th 2017, 8:23 pm

Yuri pulled the jacket nestled against his skin closer, narrowing his eyes slightly as he shuddered from the blow of the wind. He had been in Chicago for a  little while, making what he could of the homeless circumstances that he was thrusted into. Huddling around barrels and sticking with various of the homeless was something that made survival viable, but only barely. ”Собираясь дать Петру кусочек моего разума, когда я снова его.” He grumbled under his breath in Russian, adjusting the thick glasses at the bridge of his nose. A few of the homeless around him looked at him with vague curiosity, Yuri turning to them and offering a sheepish smile. Oddly enough the nervous Russian kid exterior he projected was something that made them somewhat emphasize with him, even if he didn’t fully understand what they were saying at times.

This ended up being just offering small portions of their food, clean water and he in turn let them know he protected them with his metahuman abilities. It was an unspoken agreement really, so they managed to deal with him. Pulling the sleeves a little lower on his hands, Yuri stood to his feet and rolled his shoulders a little. There had been talk about metahumans in masks with guns muscling through lately, likely something that would reach this neck of the neighborhood and that would affect those around him as well. Seeing those around him being hurt by thugs was just not something that he wanted to see, though killing would still be off the tables.

They hadn’t come around yet, but as he stood up he did find himself standing face to face with what looked to be a few masked goons pointing handguns in his face. One of them pulled the trigger, and the bullet flew as it slammed into a thick shield of ice preemptively made.

”Not nice.” His thick accented voice said, the barrier rapidly shifting into fragmented snow before becoming a fist and slamming into one of them right in the stomach, the other two becoming defensive.

As he was finishing his food he stood and walked over to a trash can. Still cold but he must keep going. He brushed off his jacket and watched the snow hit the ground. Watching physics was soothing to watch and figure out before it would hit the ground. Trotting on... he came to the next set of homeless people and was stunned to see two of them hunched over in pain. It was set to alarms in his mind and took off running watching another man try and keep them awake. Luck has it again that he was getting there in time. He placed his hand on top of the two and used his ability to restore their health making cells to fight off the illness they had at the time.

In minutes they were standing looking at themselves. They were shocked at their recovery being almost as goo as new. They turned to thank him, but again he was gone with a nice big box set where he was standing. They could only open it to find items waiting for them.

As he walked down the road and hands in his pocket; he smiled real brightly thinking that he was so relieved he could get there in time before anything became permanent. He continued to walk and again picked up the smell of smoke and started to pick up pace. "It should be around here somewhere" he thought.

POP! A loud sound cracked through the air alarming David. What was it. He looked about as he took off in a hurry looking around. He slid into a trash can and then a dumpster before catching his grip and continued running down an alley. Dodging and weaving he seen an ice formation and a guy standing in front of it with a gun. What was happening here that he was a little late to.

As he sees the 3 men standing there it was all too soon that one of them would get knocked down by an ice fist. Time to make friends first and then access the truth. In a quick swoop he creates two cinder blocks over the two healthy guys opposing the meta. As the dropped down and connected the two dropped to the ground and he started panting. He was out of breath and out of shape. More importantly these people had questions now. He just used his abilities in front of a few people and he was out of breath to run.

He expected the next shots to come and prepared to defend himself, however something happened. What came next was something falling from the sky, and banging the two thugs against the head, causing them to collapse to their knees. One looked a little less respondent than the other than quickly began to stand to their feet, likely a little more durable than the other. ”Odd..cinder block does not normally fall from sky.” He muttered, as the person turning their gun on someone else. This however gave him enough time to release a ray of frost, creating some thick ice. It mostly covered his arms, and made movement rather difficult, though Yuri just built upon that casing until he couldn’t move without some manner of extra durability.

” Так тебе и надо.” He spat, then walking over to the downed male and kneeling to him. ”You okay? No hurt?”  he asked in English, making sure to show some level of concern though he was legitimately concerned that he was hurt. There did not seem to be any visible injuries on him, though the nature of injuries was an odd one as far as books were concerned. If anything his accent was apparent, but that didn’t mean too much in the scheme of things.

As he gathered his stamina he rose up and looked at the kind guy. Guess his quick judgement was correct in thinking the 3 were the perpetrators doing the wrong action. He spoke Russian, but it somewhat made no sense but it felt soothing like he knew it. A little training and he could possibly speak it a little.. He turned toward the and nodded. Thank you for the concern, but i will be alright now. He inspected the unconscious bodies looking for I.D. but found nothing. Typical of body guards or hit men to not carry said equipment so they can not be traced that easily.

He attempted to take a step forward but to his surprise he could not pick up his leg and was forced to kneel down and started coughing towards the ground. Soon the ground turned read as a small pool started to form. Straight blood formed in front of him and ran into a gutter. So much for saying he was okay. Now he has to explain his case to open eyes. He was not up with the whole interactive party but he was kinda being forced to stay there and he felt obligated to give help. With another attempt he stood back up being it many times easier than before. He could move and talk better. Sorry about that. This ability also has it's downfalls, but at the same time I'm not actually sick. Sorry for making you worry.

Again he looked over at the bodies... So do you know who these people are or did this attack not just happen? I get confused sometimes with the whole hero thing. Not to great with conversation either. He just wants to leave.

The male insisted that he would be alright, though what followed looked to be him coughing up a dangerous amount of blood. This caused his expression to become even more worried, looking around rather concerned. ”Not sick? You cough up blood, much blood.” He said insistently, motioning to the spreading red mass that the male had managed to produce. He didn’t know much about the American medical system, but he knew it was best that a person be brought to a hospital, where they had their doctors do the rest. The male would then continue to ask about what had happened here, mostly with the thugs going about their seemingly pointless violence.

”No, they just attack, I defend myself.” He responded, turning back to the men with one of them still encased within his trap of ice. Likely he was feeling cold now, though that was something that would not affect him for a bit. ”Probably thug from local gang.” He then said with a shrug, kneeling over and laying a hand on the guns that had settled down, metal rapidly freezing as it became enfeebled, they then shattered from a slam of the foot.

”Been happening lot around. Men with guns shooting up people.”

As he had pulled together he could not help but feel fuzzy from all the things going on. Not only was he a meta but this guy was to. Plus there was something he liked about this guy; something that put his mind at ease. But first the guy in the ice. He took a hand and picked it up to stomach level and made it look like he was holding a ball. Soon a small flame came about that burned and flicker on the palm of his hand. Using his telekinesis he gave it a little forceful push causing the fire to expand into a small flamethrower and aimed it at the guy in ice. It took a little while to start but the ice started to melt and not before long the guy was out. Though he was robbed of energy and laid on the ground, but he would still not let them simply leave. Using one more ability he tapped the ground and 3 portals opened up dropping the three guys and there weapons into a police station down the road a few miles.

As he took a breathy he waved his hand giving the homeless people around him supplies for the winter and money for a better life, but he wanted to talk to the guy with the ability of ice. Plus the more he learned Russian the better he could talk with him and then he could find out more about these local gangs with a local living here. After the box was placed he looked over, I know this is straight forward, but would you mind occupying my time for a little while and talk about whats been going on in the city. I'd love to put a stop to it all sooner than later.

He walked a little bit in the opposite direction, You know its cold if you want we can go by a cafe. I'll buy us drinks so it a bit more cozy. This guy manipulated ice if anything of what he knew, he could have had a tolerance for standing cold weather, but he was getting hungry for real food so he hoped he would agree.

The other metahuman dealt with the thugs rather quickly, melting the ice from one and sending them through a portal to who knew where. This was followed by an odd display of power, something he did not seemingly understand, looking a little confused before turning to the male once again. Then he was asked if he could spend some of his time, and ask about what had been going on in the city. ”I have all the time in world.” He said with a nod, thinking over everything that he had done in this city.

”Café sounds nice. Windy city is cold this time of year, yes?” He said when the offer of getting them a drink came up. He hadn’t had a good coffee drink in a while, though the idea of chai was even better. Despite his icy powers, he did not have the protection against cold that was expected from one with his gifts especially articles that a few blogs mentioned.

”Yes, I can talk with you about thugs at café.” He then added with another nod, letting the male take the lead.

Yeah it is getting cold around this time, but nothing good tea or coffee wont fix. He would rationalize the situation as he would start heading out, the young man like himself would follow along side by side as they would make way for a local coffee shop. Seems like the weather was changing for the worse and he could feel it dropping. It seemed like the weather was not common, but it still felt weird at the same time as normal. They continued to walk until the sign for the shop came into view. Hey there it.... Cough Cough again he had a random out burst of blood cough but it did not hinder him. just a few spots on the ground. Just needed a rag. He put out his hand towards his mouth and a rag just appeared. He wiped his mouth off and then tossed the rag. This illness was a problem.

But now they could fill there delight with a little food. Opening the door the bell went of to alert people they had customers.
-Welcome. Please take any seat you like.
_thank you.
He walked over to a window booth in the corner and waited for the guy to sit. So ill buy you anything you want, or I can make you anything you need. Want some clothes that are warmer? Need any specific food? Name and describe and i can whip it up for you. The kinks of some abilities were crazy.

Nothing that good tea or coffee would not fix. Now that was something that he could agree with, or the words that he understood at the very least. The two walked off to the nearest coffee shop, Yuri burying his hands into his jacket and lazily letting his eyes scan around the sidewalk they strolled down. His…friend would continue to couch, likely from some manner of illness though he had nothing that could help him in any way. Both stepped into the café, the darker haired male picking out a booth and Yuri sitting across from him.

”No need for that. Tea is good.” he said with a well-meaning smile, turning attention to the menu plastered above the counter where one could place their order. As much as he missed his old comforts, something about the life he lived now was within its own ways nice. No worries about how he had gotten his money, just a simple life. Even if he was in all senses abandoned by American society.

”Yes, I’ll have the chai tea.”

He was looking constantly at the menu and finally made his decision on tea. _I'll have a coke with a danish please.
Moments later the waitress came back with the food and the drinks on her platter handing them out in her usual format. Taking out her book she tried getting the two to order more.
-Would you like any thing else sir? She questioned him like he was a kid... Never mind he understood why. He was a kid and it looked weird to be out and not have a guardian.

After he took a few sips and a bite he figured it was the right time to learn of the situation. So if you don't mind, would you fill me in on what all is going on? What all have you heard while you been here? He stared at the guy waiting for a response, but also went and took another bite of the danish.

Coke and a Danish, that took a few seconds for him to actually remember what the latter actually was. It was some kind of sweet, something his brother was more partial towards than he himself. Granted he was the kind of person who was more likely to drink tea than coffee like many Americans seemed inclined towards. The person taking their orders seemed to eye them oddly, though Yuri paid that no mind at all. His attention was more on the drink that he was about to get, and anything warm now of all times was something that he wanted.

The other male did not appear to order anything other than before, diving into questions as soon as they had their food. It was odd for someone to be so curious about the crime springing up in Chicago, but something told him he was one of those heroes that a person saw on the news. Granted, anyone with access to the internet could read stories about them. Some positive, and some negative, though the negative ones were on a rise since that incident that had gone on in Canada not too long ago.

”Gangs, muscling through city with metahuman powers. What happened earlier is…. not as bad as what I had heard. Police not really doing much to stop it. Probably corruption like on television.” He explained as best he could, releasing that his conversational English might have not been the best.

That was the mixture of words he needed to understand that the city was being over run by metahuman gang members. So it was them putting the death count so high and the immediate act for people to take caution to wondering the streets. Also if they are taking control of the town how many meta humans did they have and what potential did they pose. It was odd for random meta humans to come together like this, and what appeared to be on a mass scale.

What ever it was he needed to stop them, but where to start. Maybe he would search the city and its abandoned buildings and some local owned warehouses needed checking. Otherwise he would have to search low rate hotels to see if they were keeping rugged people in occupied rooms, or possibly an interracial work force. Everything had to be brought to light if he was to stop it in this city. Can't allow others to just violently go berserk when they want to.

He took another bite of his food and finished it off with his drink. Taste good but he did not have time to savior the flavor. He had to hop back to work. Thank you for everything and I guess this is where we part... unless you want to help me with my cause. I would never ask the police force to get in on this since they usually consist of normal people, but you and I alike have abilities and if you don't mind helping me stop these meta humans in this city. he would probably turn him down since he borrowed so much of his time as it was, but he could really use the back up in case of an uncomfortable situation. Truly he would be more surprised with himself being so open if he was not so scattered to the thought of helping others right that instance.

Calling this a conversation would have been generous but it was over quicker than Yuri had expected. One minutes he was explaining how crime was doing in the city, and the next the male was saying they needed to go somewhere, likely to hunt down the criminals and learn more about what was happening. Perhaps that was how heroes functions, running around without rest and stopping criminals from doing whatever it was they did. Crime was a broad spectrum after all, and something that he had little knowledge in the actual logistics of. There was of course the offer that he could help him, something that Yuri picked up on rather quickly with all things considered.

”Yes, I can help with you with your search.” He said with a nod, taking the last few sips from his drink and standing up along with David. ”I want to help.” He then gave a motion as if urging him to lead on.

Hopefully this guy had some better understanding of how the city worked than he did, and that would make going about easier for both of them.

Well there time together was just beginning and thanks to his answer they would probably be busy the whole day now. It was time to leave since he was sort of rushing the kick crime in the face thing, but he could apologize later in advance. Plus this guy may turn out to be a friend in the coming future. He set the money on the table and stood up. As everything was finished he proceeded to walk out the cafe and Yuri followed behind him exiting. Which way was the warehouses. He was unfamiliar with the city, but he would go with instinct.

Like those buildings look like crap the father you walk down that way. Good point to start there since it is typical abandon buildings are unkempt and people loved to hide in them. Strange since it was cold and it would be easy to be next to a heater right about now, but crime like they say is always at hand.

It took a little while, but they finally made it to the darker part of the city and he was not talking about diversity or race. For some strange reason this side of town was literally blacked out. It seemed like a cloud just wanted to cast a dark shadow over this forgotten place. It was gloomy and the streets were disgusting, but this seemed like the best place. Old buildings and rundown motels.

Now that they were down there they also seemed to be getting some attention. People were emerging from allies giving them a look over. But they were just kids why would grown men have to fear them? Keep your guard up, they might try something. They look dumb enough to.
